Eva Longoria has found directing to be very challenging.

The Desperate Housewives actress, who first tried her hand at directing with episodes of TV shows such as Black-ish and Jane the Virgin, is making her feature film directorial debut with the comedy 24-7, which she will follow up with biopic Flamin’ Hot.

Longoria has found directing to be difficult, so to aid the process, she has surrounded herself by the best possible crew.

“Directing is a challenge — period,” Longoria told Yahoo Entertainment. “You have to be prepared no matter who you are, male or female… there are so many obstacles women face — second-guessing and sexism still persists… you just got to hire the right people to surround yourself with. I’ve had amazing experiences with (directors of photography) and crews supporting me. But I know that’s not universal. And I’ve heard those horror stories.”

Flamin’ Hot is a biopic about Richard Montanez, a Mexican immigrant and former janitor at Frito-Lay who invented the spicy Cheetos flavour and worked his way up the business.

The 44-year-old explained that she wanted to direct the project because it is important for her to represent the Latinx community onscreen.

“I got the job because I was prepared and I was authentic with my point of view,” she continued. “Richard Montanez’s story is my story. And it’s many people’s stories. When people say, ‘…you know, people who look like you won’t get the shot,’ that’s when you try harder. I really loved that aspect of it. And I think they respected my point of view and how I wanted to make the movie.”

Longoria is also producing and starring in 24-7 alongside Kerry Washington. It follows a group of accountants who band together to solve a fraud case.

Slick Woods attended the Puma x Balmain clothing launch on Thursday, shortly after it was revealed she was battling melanoma cancer.

The 23-year-old model, real name Simone Thompson, casually announced that she was undergoing chemotherapy on Instagram on Wednesday and reporters at The Shade Room subsequently claimed she had told them she was suffering from stage three melanoma cancer.

And Slick proved that she wasn’t letting her health battle get her down when she made a public appearance at the launch of fellow model Cara Delevingne’s clothing collaboration with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing and sportswear giant Puma at Milk Studios in Los Angeles.

Dressed in black trousers, a baseball cap, sneakers and a denim jacket, she styled the look in an interesting way by securing the bottom buttonhole to the top button, exposing her shoulder, midriff, and green mesh vest top.

The launch was also attended by models Alessandra Ambrosio and Shanina Shaik and stars including Amber Heard, Eva Longoria, Bella Thorne, Machine Gun Kelly, and G-Eazy, who all sported pieces from the boxing-inspired collection.

The Savage x Fenty model referred to her medical treatment when she shared a photo of herself sticking out her tongue while out with her boyfriend Micky Munday and some friends.

“How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it #atleastimalreadybald,” she wrote in the caption.

As fans expressed their shock at the news and sent their well wishes, Slick shared a picture of a pouting child and urged her followers to “stop treating me like a victim”.

Slick gave birth to a son named Saphir, who she shares with model Adonis Bosso, shortly after walking the Savage X Fenty show in September 2018.

Viola Davis has been selected as the new spokeswoman for L’Oreal Paris.

Executives at the French cosmetics giant announced on Tuesday that the Academy Award-winning actress is joining the company as a brand ambassador, with her gig as the face of Age Perfect products to mark one of her first beauty campaigns.

“As a young girl, I wasn’t always told that I was smart, beautiful, or worthy. I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today – overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am ‘worth it’ in every way,” the 54-year-old said in a statement. “I believe it’s so important to build confidence in women from a young age, and to role model diverse perspectives of beauty. To now be part of a brand that has been championing women’s worth for more than 40 years and to use my voice to help empower others is truly surreal.”

In the role, Viola joins a roster of diverse spokespeople including Celine Dion, Helen Mirren, Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning, Aja Naomi King, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Camila Cabello, among others.

The Fences star will appear in TV, print, and digital advertising campaigns for Age Perfect beginning later this month.

Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, global brand president of L’Oreal Paris, commented that Viola’s appointment builds on the company’s mission to reflect the diversity of the modern world, as well as promote inclusivity, self-worth, and empowerment.

“We are thrilled to welcome Viola as a member of our family. Viola’s tenacity, authenticity, and bold spirit resonate with and inspire so many people,” she praised. “She challenges the status quo in all aspects of life and her drive to succeed has proven itself time after time – she leads by example and is the perfect conduit to elevate our core message, ‘Because I’m Worth It.'”

Eva Longoria inspired Roselyn Sanchez to tackle directing dreams

Eva Longoria’s fearlessness behind the camera inspired her actress pal Roselyn Sanchez to tackle her longtime dream of becoming a director.

Sanchez has long harboured hopes of taking charge of her own project, but she was “petrified” to step out of her comfort zone until Longoria’s constant encouragement prompted her to embrace her fears head on.

She will now make her directorial debut with a documentary all about dog adoption in her native Puerto Rico, which is expected to be released this summer.

During a joint interview on U.S. daytime show The View, Sanchez explained, “This woman inspired me. For years I’ve had the inclination or the desire to direct, but I’ve been petrified… because it’s a different animal altogether. There’s technical elements that I didn’t know.

“But I said, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna go for it,’ and seeing her (Longoria) directing, acting, producing, breastfeeding, I was like, ‘You know what, I can do this’.”

Longoria, whose son Santiago turns one on Wednesday, juggled multiple jobs on the set of the pals’ new TV series Grand Hotel, and watching her gave Sanchez the confidence she needed to pursue directing.

Sharing details about her first project behind the camera, she continued, “So I decided if I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna go to Puerto Rico, where I’m from, and I’m gonna do it about the problem of stray dogs…

“It’s a wonderful, beautiful paradise, but we have a lot of stray dogs, so it’s about a (pet) shelter and how three families meet and (how) adopting a dog changes a life.”

Longoria also made her directing debut with a documentary, titled Latinos Living the American Dream, back in 2010, and she has since gone on to shoot episodes of shows like Jane the Virgin, The Mick, and Black-ish.

Eva claims she learned everything about making a TV episode by watching directors and crew on the set of Desperate Housewives, calling the show her college.

Eva Longoria can’t wait to watch her latest movie with her baby boy Santiago.

The actress plays the mother of Dora the Explorer (Isabela Moner) in new film Dora and the Lost City of Gold, the live-action adaption of the hit children’s TV show.

Eva, who starred in Desperate Housewives as the sultry Gabrielle Solis for eight seasons, spoke to Extra about the feature at the 2019 CinemaCon at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Thursday (04Apr19) in Las Vegas, explaining that she’s excited for her nine-month-old son Santi, who she shares with husband Jose ‘Pepe’ Baston, to see something she’s in.

“Santi can watch, I’m not in lingerie,” she laughed, adding, “I’d never let him watch Desperate Housewives.”

And her baby isn’t the only one who’s excited about the movie version.

“When it was announced, all my friends, Serena Williams texted me, Victoria (Beckham) texted me, everyone was like, ‘Oh, my gosh!’ It was such a global thing. I thought it was a Latina thing. Everybody knows her,” the 44-year-old explained. “To play her mother and to bring this animated, one-dimensional character to life was exhilarating and thrilling.”

In the movie, Dora is forced to attend a traditional high school. She later enlists the help of her best friend Boots (voiced by Danny Trejo), her cousin Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg) and other teens to save her mother and father, as played by Michael Pena, and solve a mystery about a lost Inca civilisation. Eugenio Derbez, Benicio del Toro, Temuera Morrison, and Pia Miller round out the cast.

Eva, who started working on the movie soon after giving birth to her first child, also joked that her fans may not recognise her.

“Santi was six weeks old, so I am about 20 pounds (nine kilograms) heavier,” she insisted. “It’s coming back little by little… I was working so hard I injured my shoulder, so I had to stop a little bit, but I’m going back.”

Celine Dion has been named as the new global spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris.

In recent years, the Canadian superstar has enjoyed a major resurgence, with fans flocking to her Las Vegas residency shows, which are due to wrap up in June (19).

Now, executives at the French cosmetics giant have tapped Celine as a brand ambassador, with her gig as the face of Excellence Hair Colour set to mark her first-ever beauty campaign.

“I never saw that coming, especially at 51 years old. I thought seriously about it because, if my name was on it, I wanted to truly believe in it,” she said in a statement of her reaction to being asked to join the L’Oreal family. “We, women, are all dealing with a society that is pushing so much today. Considering that L’Oreal Paris gives women plenty of tools to feel good, to feel strong, to have a voice, to fulfil themselves and to feel worth it, I was honoured to become a global ambassador for the brand and represent women all around the world.”

Celine’s debut Excellence Hair Colour television commercial, which a spokesperson promised will highlight her “humorous and playful side,” is set to premiere on 22 April.

The My Heart Will Go On singer follows in the footsteps of Camila Cabello, Adam Levine, Julianne Moore, Eva Longoria, Helen Mirren, and Andie MacDowell, among others, in being named as an ambassador for the company.

Accordingly, L’Oreal Paris’ global brand president, Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, couldn’t be more thrilled with the signing.

“Signing Celine Dion as the newest member of the L’Oreal Paris family builds on our mission of aligning with spokeswomen who are strong, self-empowered, assertive, diverse and inclusive,” he said. “Celine Dion is a woman of innate self-worth – following her heart to achieve success, challenge stereotypes and trailblaze the path for so many other women – and fully embodies our brand mission of ‘Because I’m Worth it.'”

Eva Longoria has showcased her slim post-body baby in a swimsuit while doing a victory dance – eight months after giving birth to son Santiago.

The former Desperate Housewives star was on a weekend break with a group of friends including Prison Break actor Amaury Nolasco when she showed off her moves as she celebrated winning a game of backgammon against the screen star. In the footage, posted on Eva’s Instagram Stories, the 43-year-old actress displayed her enviable curves as she danced around in a strapless one-piece swimsuit – giggling and laughing throughout. And while fans are sure to be jealous of her dance skills, it was Eva’s noticeably trimmer figure that really caught the eye.

The actress gave birth to Santiago, her first child with businessman husband Jose ‘Pepe’ Baston, last June (18) – just a month after the couple’s two-year wedding anniversary. And following the baby’s arrival, Eva vowed not to stress about slimming down post-pregnancy.

“I really gave my body time to adjust to postpartum and post-pregnancy. You know, it had a baby!” she told Oprah magazine in December. “It created a human life, so I really wasn’t too hard (on myself) about getting back into shape.”

Her pre-baby workouts focused mainly on running, yoga and Pilates. But to shed the baby weight, she added “serious weight training” into the mix.

“I’m working out a lot more and watching what I eat. I’m barely starting to get back into it,” she said at the time. “My workouts now are very serious weight training.”

Eva has always been honest about her changing shape, and found a hilarious way to respond to fake pregnancy rumours which surrounded her in April 2017, months before she really conceived.

“So, I saw some pictures of myself. Really fat, on a boat. I have to tell you all I did was eat cheese. I ate cheese!” she wrote on Snapchat. “And everybody’s saying I’m pregnant and I’m not. I was just lactose intolerant apparently.”

Camila Cabello has shared her best advice for styling bangs.

The Havana hitmaker has flaunted the curtain bangs trend over the last year, and is putting her chic tresses to good use as one of the new faces of L’Oreal Paris’ latest campaign alongside celebrities including Amber Heard, Julianne Moore and Eva Longoria.

And following the gig, Camila has decided to divulge her top tips for the perfect fringe.

“My go-to, even when I have a professional styling my hair, is to wet my bangs and let them dry by tucking behind my ears,” she explained in an interview with InStyle U.S. “They dry in this pillowy, curtain-type shape that gives off ’70s vibes. So easy, too!”

The 21-year-old acknowledged that getting bangs can be a daunting prospect for those worried that they may not be able to pull off the look, but she’s adamant that women everywhere should give it a shot.

“I would tell someone that’s thinking about getting bangs to go for it,” she insisted. “Hair grows back, and even if you aren’t thrilled with the results, that ‘in-between’ phase can be really easy to work around.”

Camila is fronting the campaign for the new L’Oréal Paris Elvive Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioners, which debuted during the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday night (06Jan19) in Los Angeles.

She and the other stars in the video reveal what happened in their lives when they stopped waiting and started taking action, with the haircare brand inviting fans to share their own #StopWaiting stories on social media.

Eva Longoria isn’t succumbing to Hollywood pressure to fit back into her old clothes after welcoming her first child in June (18).

Eva and husband Jose ‘Pepe’ Baston are proud parents to baby son Santiago, and the 43-year-old has been enjoying every moment of getting to know her tot – and has not been worrying about slimming down post-pregnancy.

“Well, I don’t really succumb to any pressures outside of myself, but I really gave my body time to heal and just embrace… I was breastfeeding and just enjoying postpartum and basking in his energy and this beautiful life I created, and so I was very forgiving to my body because it created a human!” Eva told Extra.

Eva has proudly been showing off her slightly fuller figure on the red carpet in recent weeks as she gets back to work.

Revealing that she’s slowly easing herself back into a fitness regime, the Desperate Housewives star insisted she’s not pushing her body too hard at this stage.

“It’s just now I’m starting to get back to working out and dieting… but not even hardcore, just like, you know what? Let’s start… let’s start to do some movements, see what happens,” she shared.

Eva has always been real about her body, and found a hilarious way to respond to fake pregnancy rumours which surrounded her in April 2017, months before she really conceived.

“So, I saw some pictures of myself. Really fat, on a boat. I have to tell you all I did was eat cheese. I ate cheese!” she wrote on Snapchat. “And everybody’s saying I’m pregnant and I’m not. I was just lactose intolerant apparently.”
