Sarah Michelle Gellar has temporarily dyed her hair pink so she can “embarrass her children”.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal her latest hair transformation, having spontaneously decided to swap her signature blonde locks for a rose-pink shade during the coronavirus lockdown.

“Well, because we are still in quarantine, I had to think of a new and creative way to embarrass my children: ‘Quarancolour,'” the 43-year-old told her fans in the short clip, referring to her daughter Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old son Rocky, whom she shares with husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

In the accompanying caption, Sarah noted that she had used a temporary colour product and would be rocking the pastel hue until it begins to “fade out”.

Her post quickly racked up over 900,000 views and attracted comments from many of her 3.1 million followers.

Celebrity make-up artist Daniel Martin praised, “So gorgeous honey! I love how it warms up your skin too!” while another fan posted, “Pretty in Pink – I love it.”

And others noted that Sarah’s fun makeover had inspired them to consider a bold new look too.

“Yessss!! I’ve been so tempted to do something like this too! My kids would be mortified (especially the 19-year-old). You look awesome!!” a fan added.

The actress isn’t the only Hollywood star to experiment with their hair colour while staying at home and practicing social distancing during the lockdown.

Jennifer Love Hewitt unveiled new pink locks earlier this month after trying out the Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Color Conditioner, while Elle Fanning, Dua Lipa, and Ireland Baldwin have also tried out pink tresses.

Elsewhere, Hilary Duff has opted for a bold blue shade and Taraji P. Henson has been rocking a dark red hue.

Darren Aronofsky has claimed his 2000s-era Batman movie was scrapped because he wanted Joaquin Phoenix to play the iconic superhero.

In an interview with Empire, the director opened up about his plans to reinvent the Caped Crusader almost 20 years ago, but also recalled how bosses at Warner Bros. weren’t enthusiastic about his choice of leading man.

“The studio wanted Freddie Prinze Jr. and I wanted Joaquin Phoenix,” he stated. “I remember thinking, ‘Uh oh, we’re making two different films here.’ That’s a true story. It was a different time. The Batman I wrote was definitely a way different type of take than they ended up making.”

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker went on to share that he was keen to overhaul the DC Comics superhero after George Clooney’s turn as the famed character in 1997’s Batman & Robin and noted that he was looking to adapt Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One comic.

“The Batman that was out before me was Batman & Robin, the famous one with the nipples on the Batsuit, so I was really trying to undermine that, and reinvent it. That’s where my head went,” Aronofsky added.

The project never made it into production and the role of Batman has since been played by Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and Ben Affleck.

Robert Pattinson will be taking on the part for Matt Reeves’s upcoming film, The Batman.

And while Phoenix missed out on playing Batman, he did end up portraying the Joker in Todd Phillips’ bleak 2019 drama, for which he nabbed the prize for Best Actor at the Academy Awards in February.

Freddie Prinze Jr. has jokingly trolled his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar over her “ridiculous” new trousers.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress took to Instagram on Thursday to upload a photo of herself posing in a black outfit and matching headband in front of a staircase in her home.

“When your husband thinks your pants are slightly ridiculous, what do you do!?!?” she wrote in the caption, “Obviously, you take tonnes of dramatic pictures, and spam him with them (and yes, I’m still wearing my daughter’s headband) more to come @realfreddieprinze.”

Sarah’s post quickly attracted hundreds of comments from fans, with most praising her fashion choices, including designer Christian Siriano, who wrote, “Chiccc,” and actress Zoey Deutch, who simply commented with the fire emoji.

Yet, Freddie didn’t back down with his disapproval of the loose-fitting elasticated black trousers.

“No babe, trash bag sweat pants are obviously not ridiculous (facepalm emoji),” the 43-year-old humorously replied.

But it seems Sarah is not yet ready to give up on the ensemble as she also shared several more snaps of herself wearing the outfit at home on her Instagram Stories.

“Do I wear them again?” she asked her 2.9 followers in a poll. “Do you think they will grow on @realfreddieprinze if I just keep wearing them?!?”

And it seems the majority of Sarah’s fans think she shouldn’t give up on the controversial trousers, with 80 per cent voting for her to give the look another whirl.

Sarah, 42, and Freddie have been married since 2002, having met on the set of 1997 teen horror I Know What You Did Last Summer. They share two children; 10-year-old daughter Charlotte and son Rocky, seven.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has apologised for sharing a social media post in which she encouraged herself “not to overeat” on Thanksgiving (22Nov18).

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress took to Instagram on Monday (19Nov18) to upload several throwback photos of her posing in lingerie for a 2007 Maxim photoshoot, and she captioned the slideshow: “I’m just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday #thanksgivingprep.”

However, the post quickly stirred up a controversy among her followers, with some claiming that she was “fat shaming” others or potentially triggering people with eating disorders, and accordingly, she has now updated the post with an apology.

“It’s come to my attention that some people think I was ‘fat shaming’ with this post. That could not be further from my intentions,” the 41-year-old commented. “I love Thanksgiving and unfortunately my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much I make myself sick. This was a joking reminder to myself not to do that. I’m terribly sorry that people were offended by my attempt at humour. Any one that knows me, knows I would never intentionally ‘shame’ any one on any basis (sic). I am a champion of all people.”

Prior to posting her statement, Sarah received a mixed range of comments on the post, with one Instagram user stating, “Please don’t promote diet culture. Not the kind of message we should be sending,” and another writing, “Disappointing to use your platform to promote thinspiration on a once a year holiday that should be about togetherness and gratitude.”

Yet, others supported the star, who shares two children with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr., and praised her for standing up for herself.

“You can enjoy Thanksgiving without going crazy!!” one noted, while another added: “You are gorgeous and you have the right to post whatever you want. I applaud your hard work to look like you do and should be able to joke around.”
