Slick Woods attended the Puma x Balmain clothing launch on Thursday, shortly after it was revealed she was battling melanoma cancer.

The 23-year-old model, real name Simone Thompson, casually announced that she was undergoing chemotherapy on Instagram on Wednesday and reporters at The Shade Room subsequently claimed she had told them she was suffering from stage three melanoma cancer.

And Slick proved that she wasn’t letting her health battle get her down when she made a public appearance at the launch of fellow model Cara Delevingne’s clothing collaboration with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing and sportswear giant Puma at Milk Studios in Los Angeles.

Dressed in black trousers, a baseball cap, sneakers and a denim jacket, she styled the look in an interesting way by securing the bottom buttonhole to the top button, exposing her shoulder, midriff, and green mesh vest top.

The launch was also attended by models Alessandra Ambrosio and Shanina Shaik and stars including Amber Heard, Eva Longoria, Bella Thorne, Machine Gun Kelly, and G-Eazy, who all sported pieces from the boxing-inspired collection.

The Savage x Fenty model referred to her medical treatment when she shared a photo of herself sticking out her tongue while out with her boyfriend Micky Munday and some friends.

“How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it #atleastimalreadybald,” she wrote in the caption.

As fans expressed their shock at the news and sent their well wishes, Slick shared a picture of a pouting child and urged her followers to “stop treating me like a victim”.

Slick gave birth to a son named Saphir, who she shares with model Adonis Bosso, shortly after walking the Savage X Fenty show in September 2018.

G-Eazy is reportedly keen to land the career-making role of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biopic about the rock ‘n’ roll icon.

According to editors at TMZ.com, the rapper has been making a strong bid to get in amongst the reported top names in the running to play Presley in the upcoming flick.

Sources close to the project told the publication the No Limit hitmaker has been in talks with executives at Warner Bros. and had a few meetings, including with the Australian director, where he made his intentions clear.

G-Eazy, real name Gerald Earl Gillum, and Luhrmann reportedly spent time together in New York City last month, as the 30-year-old made his pitch to show The Great Gatsby director how serious he was about portraying the musician.

The news comes weeks after the rapper shared some Presley-inspired shots of himself online, with the caption: “Don’t be cruel, to a heart that’s true.”

Last week, it was revealed that Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harry Styles and Austin Butler have all tested for the part.

Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks is set to play Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the film.

An announcement on who will play Presley is expected later this month.

R&B star The Weeknd has given fans a sneak peek at a new line of streetwear with Japanese brand A Bathing Ape.

The Starboy hitmaker took to Instagram on Monday night (30Apr18) to share a photo of the back of a black jacket, which featured his signature “XO” logo in the centre of a large circle in an orange camouflage design, with the words “A Bathing Ape” and “Till We Overdose” printed in white.

The company’s trademark ape heads were also worked into the image.

“coming soon,” he teased in the caption.

The Weeknd didn’t offer up any further details about the clothing collaboration, but it’s not his first foray into the streetwear world.

He previously worked alongside Swedish retail bosses at H&M to release a menswear range, titled Spring Icons Selected by The Weeknd, back in March, 2017. The line included a mix of urban bomber jackets and hoodies, as well as tailored shirts and blazers, with a few of the pieces also having his “XO” logo incorporated into their designs.

However, the singer abruptly ended his deal with H&M in January (18) and vowed never to work with them again following the launch of an ill-advised U.K. advertisement, in which a young black boy posed in a green hoodie sporting the caption, “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle”.

Blasting fashion bosses for the insensitive promo on Twitter, he wrote, “woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. i’m deeply offended and will not be working with @hm (H&M) anymore.”

H&M officials quickly released a statement apologising for the offensive undertones of the post and pulled the item from sale. The blunder also cost the firm its partnership with rapper G-Eazy, who axed plans to unveil his fashion line with the store in March (18).

Halsey rocked a tiger print outfit to the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night (11Mar18).

The singer-songwriter posed up a storm on the red carpet prior to the ceremony held at The Forum in Los Angeles and at one point stopped to plant a kiss on her boyfriend, rapper G-Eazy.

Channelling The Flintstones in her Raisa & Vanessa outfit, Halsey certainly turned heads in a tiger print top and miniskirt with large buckle detail on the front, which she accessorised with Jimmy Choo heels and jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz.

Among the other stars to make a sartorial statement was Cardi B, who sported a dark violet dress from Christian Siriano featuring satin bodice and layered tulle skirt. The Bodak Yellow rapper, who took home Best New Artist at the event, finished the look off with embellished fuchsia satin high heels and chose to wear her signature brunette locks in a chic bob with centre parting.

And designer Christian was thrilled with the final look, taking to Instagram to upload a snap of Cardi.

“Congratulations to my girl @iamcardib on your win tonight! Looking so chic in our Fall2018 tulle party dress! Dance hard tonight and celebrate,” he captioned the photo.

Other celebrities who got dressed up for the night included Rita Ora, who donned a peach-coloured top and pair of jeans from Nina Ricci, and Jenna Dewan Tatum, in a Zuhair Murad gown which she matched with Stella Luna heels and Jennifer Fisher jewellery.

Iggy Azalea flaunted her figure in a black Brian Lichtenberg dress with thigh-high split which she paired with Gianvito Rossi heels, while Bebe Rexha dazzled in a black high-neck dress from August Getty Atelier, Jimmy Choo pumps and bling from Norman Silverman.

Meanwhile, Camila Cabello divided fans with the sheer black top and red, blue and black patterned skirt she sported to the star-studded bash, as did hip-hop star Kehlani, who opted for an oversize belted coat made from shiny gold and cream fabric.

Ashanti, Ashley Greene, DJ Khaled, Chance The Rapper and Hailey Baldwin were also in attendance.
