Gabrielle Union was inspired to re-release her haircare line after suffering from premature balding.

The actress first launched Flawless by Gabrielle Union with her personal hair stylist Larry Sims back in 2017, and she was prompted to revisit the brand following her struggle with hair loss while undergoing fertility treatment.

“A lot of women have had issues with premature balding, hormone-induced balding, hair loss, hair breakage, and I wanted to be able to address a lot of these issues but without price gouging,” she told WWD, noting that her own experiences with IVF left her dealing with premature balding.

After collaborating with Larry, they discussed the best way to promote hair growth, and used ingredients such as biotin, creatine, rice oil complex and Brazilian bacuri butter in to the products.

”I know she’s married to Dwyane (Wade), but I feel like I’m married to both her and her hair,” Larry quipped, as he noted the haircare line does not include any parabens, sulfates or silicones.

Flawless will be available to purchase from Amazon on 3 August, and the first launch includes products such as Hydrating Detangling Shampoo, a 3 Minute Restoring Conditioner, Detangling Leave-In Conditioner and Scalp Soothing Tonic, as well as Shine Enhancing Heat Protection Spray, and Hydrating Curl Refreshing Spray.

Prices range from $4 (£3) to $10 (£8), and a second phase of the duo’s hair mask will be released next year.

“I am BEYOND excited to finally be able to talk about the launch of @flawlessbygu,” the Bad Boys II star captioned a snap of the pair on Instagram. “Larry & I collaborated on an amazingly affordable line of products for textured hair, protective styles, & wigs. It was super important for us to create an elevated line with beautiful natural ingredients while still making the price point accessible to EVERYONE despite your social or economic status. EVERYTHING in the line is between $4 – $10 with luxurious results.”

Gabrielle Union has thrown her support behind a sequel to A League Of Their Own, which would follow the rise of three female Black stars of post-war baseball.

Filmmaker Matthew A. Cherry first pitched the idea of a follow-up to the hit 1992 movie, which starred Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Madonna, and followed the beginnings of the first female professional baseball league in the 1940s.

Back in December 2018, the Oscar-winning director suggested in a post on Twitter that a sequel to late director Penny Marshall’s flick should pick up at the point in the film when a Black woman in the crowd at a game throws a ground ball back to the team, impressing Davis’ character Dottie Hinson.

“Imagine A League Of Their Own sequel that starts with the scene of the Black woman throwing the ball back from the stands and you stay with her and it becomes a biopic on (Toni Stone, Mami (sic) ‘Peanut’ Johnson & Connie Morgan),” the Hair Love director wrote.

Toni, Mamie and Connie broke new ground when they played professional baseball in the 1940s and 1950s.

On Monday, Gabrielle took to Twitter to share Matthew’s post, and implored Hollywood bosses to look at getting the potential project off the ground.

“Can we make this please?” the Bring It On actress wrote. “Asking for a bunch of us.”

Fans of the 47-year-old went wild for her idea, and suggested Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay could helm the sports biopic.

Gabrielle Union confessed she’s learning more about being a woman as she gives advice to her transgender stepdaughter Zaya.

Back in February, the Bring It On star’s husband Dwyane Wade announced his 13-year-old would be using the pronouns she/her, and in a new interview with Shape magazine, Gabrielle said she’s been working hard to set a good example to Zaya.

“I love that in our household there are so many different ways of expressing ourselves,” the 47-year-old explained. “And watching Zaya clock all of it. Right? That there’s no one way to be a woman. There’s no one way to be a Black woman. There’s no one way to be beautiful. There’s no one way to dress or to love your body.”

And Gabrielle is also learning from Zaya, and recalled an incident in which she tried to teach her stepdaughter how to shave her armpits.

“Zaya was like, ‘But Amandla Stenberg doesn’t shave her armpits. And I was like, ‘No, she does not!’” she laughed, referencing the non-binary American actress, and said she was forced to examine her own beliefs about gender.

“You are a woman because you are. Because that is your identity,” Gabrielle added.

Zaya was behind the lens of her Samsung smartphone as she photographed her stepmother for the Shape cover shoot, and the L.A.’s Finest star was curious to see how the teenager saw her.

“I’m just interested to see myself through Zaya’s eyes,” she explained. “I think that’s really actually… really interesting. Because I trust her. And she has a story to tell.”

Slick Woods has credited her friend for saving her life during an “unexpected” seizure.

The model, real name Simone Thompson, announced on social media in November that she was battling a type of skin cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.

Slick has been regularly sharing updates with her fans, and on Wednesday, took to Instagram to post a video of her smiling and laughing in her hospital bed after recently suffering a scary medical ordeal.

“Now that I’m feeling a million times better and walking again thanks @cheyalli (Chey Allegra) for saving my life during an unexpected seizure in the middle of the night, man there’s so many people going through way worse #staygoofy,” she captioned the clip.

It’s not known if Slick had suffered seizures before, or if the event is related to her treatments.

But a number of the Fenty Beauty star’s celebrity pals were quick to comment on the post, including Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Janelle Monae, and Karrueche Tran.

“Thank god, quick recovery! We love you @slickwoods,” wrote Adut Akech, while Jasmine Sanders posted, “Praying for you baby!!”

And singer-songwriter Miguel added: “Sending love and lightning.”

Last month, Slick shared a string of videos on her Instagram Stories showing her joking around with friends while at The London in New York City and noted that she was able to enjoy a night out when she was provided with a wheelchair by staff at the hotel.

“Legs numb left hand still numb I hate bulls**t and The London gave me a wheelchair,” the 23-year-old stated.

Gabrielle Union was determined to “get it right” when it came to designing plus-size clothing for her new holiday collection with New York & Company.

The Bring It On actress has been collaborating with the American womenswear retailer on clothing collections since 2017, and recently launched a holiday line which features 51-pieces including metallic dresses, party-ready jumpsuits, satin sets, and leather staple pieces.

Gabrielle was intent on making the collection inclusive but didn’t just want to simply extend the size range – she was determined to create clothes that fit plus-sized consumers well.

“If it doesn’t fit right, it ain’t right. That’s what it all came down to,” she told People.com. “When you’re not doing it right, you’re ignoring 67 per cent of Americans who are plus-sized.”

She explained that she would have “failed miserably” if she didn’t make the clothes trendy and flattering for all sizes, with her adding, “I don’t want to fail at anything… I have to get it right.”

The 47-year-old made sure she hired a team that could execute plus-size designs and address the “blind spots” with her line.

“This is where you lead humbly… It’s easy to lead with your numbers and your success but a better business move is to centre where you are weakest,” the star said. “Centre your blind spots. But if you don’t have the right people on your team, you’re not going to ever know what those blind spots are.”

Her holiday collection, which ranges in price from $55 (£42) to $200 (£152) and in sizes from XS to XXL, launched earlier this week.

In addition, she has also unveiled a 13-piece collection of holiday dresses with the brand’s plus-size division, Fashion to Figure.

Gabrielle Union has proudly showcased her America’s Got Talent looks on Instagram following reports claiming she was criticised for appearing “too black” on the show.

The Bring It On actress served as a judge for the TV talent contest’s latest season, but was axed last month amid reports she raised a number of race and gender-related issues to network bosses at NBC.

In a report published by Variety in late November, multiple sources said Gabrielle was told “over half a dozen times” that her rotating hairstyles were “too black” for the show’s audience, and while she hasn’t addressed that detail explicitly, the 47-year-old celebrated her ever-changing hair throughout the series by posting a video slideshow of her looks on Instagram set to Beyonce’s song Flawless on Thursday.

“Unapologetically me,” she wrote in the caption. “Be comfortable and confident with your whole a*s self. It might give others the fluuuxxx but never stop being you. You can shine on your own terms. And if you got something to say (shrug emoji). I don’t take notes rooted in anti-blackness. I love me as i am (sic).”

Gabrielle’s longtime hairstylist Larry Sims previously posted the video to celebrate her hairstyles, which ranged from high ponytails and sleek bobs to intricate updos, in response to the Variety report.

“G A B R I E L L E Too Black? Nah… She’s FLAWLESS!!! @gabunion,” he wrote in the caption, and in the comments, the star wrote, “I (heart) you.”

Multiple reports suggest she had issues with the way she was asked to dress for the programme, while also complaining about a racially-insensitive joke guest judge Jay Leno made backstage. She also reportedly protested when a white contestant darkened his face to look more like Beyonce for an audition skit. The allegations are currently under investigation.

Cindy Crawford has shared an epic celebrity throwback photo on social media, with the snap featuring the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Gabrielle Union.

The supermodel posted the star-studded image on Instagram in honour of the popular hashtag #WCW, which stands for Woman Crush Wednesday.

Actresses Aniston, Union, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Deidre Hall, Allison Janney, Fran Drescher, models Amber Valletta, Rachel Hunter, and TV host Nancy O’Dell all feature in the picture taken in 2003.

And eagle-eyed fans even spotted the late Carrie Fisher and her daughter Billie Lourd in the 16-person photo, which fans of Cindy said was the best celebrity group photo since Ellen DeGeneres’s record-breaking Oscars selfie in 2014.

“That’s a lot of girl power in one photo. #WCW,” the 53-year-old model wrote in the caption.

While followers speculated about the exact event the women were at – with one even suggesting it was Hunter’s wedding to Rod Stewart in 1990 as the model is wearing a white strapless dress – it was, in fact, a charity fashion show which raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, according to editors at People.com.

The women walked the catwalk as attendees placed bids on luxury items including five-star trips to Paris, Greece, and New York.

“OMGGGGGG!! That felt like 5 min ago!!!” Union commented on the snap, while So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley wrote: “Good lord! Now that’s a gang!”

Since the photo was taken, beloved Star Wars icon Fisher has passed away. She died following a stroke in December 2016.

Kirsten Dunst is open to dusting off her cheerleader uniform for another Bring It On film.

The actress recently reunited with Gabrielle Union, her co-star in the popular 2000 movie about a team preparing for cheerleading championships, for a Rodarte fashion campaign.

Accordingly, the photoshoot prompted fans to dream up a big screen get-together, and now, Dunst has shared that she would be interested in reprising her role as Torrance Shipman.

“If they wanted to make another movie, I would make another movie,” the 37-year-old said during a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Why not? It’d be so fun!

“We made that movie for no money, zero money. It was a Universal movie, but like one of those that they were like, ‘Go and do what you want’, like this little, whatever, cheerleading movie.”

Dunst went on to explain that she loves it when her projects exceed expectations.

“Opening weekend, we were all so surprised,” the star insisted. “It was huge. That’s always the best – when you don’t expect anything and then it became so huge.”

Several direct-to-video Bring It On sequels were made in the mid-2000s, but none featured the members of the original cast.

And in a recent chat with Sirius XM’s In-Depth With Larry Flick, Dunst revealed that Bring It On tends to be the film fans recognise her from, despite having starred in critically acclaimed movies like Marie Antoinette and The Beguiled, as well as in the second season of TV series Fargo.

“I’ve never been nominated for anything. Maybe like, twice for a Golden Globe when I was little and one for Fargo. I always feel like nobody – I don’t know, maybe they just think I’m the girl from Bring It On,” she commented.

Dunst is currently promoting her new TV show, On Becoming a God in Central Florida.

Mad Men co-stars January Jones and Kiernan Shipka have reunited for Rodarte’s new lookbook.

The actresses, who played mother-daughter duo Betty and Sally Draper on the hit TV series, which ran from 2007 until 2015, have been tapped by designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy to appear in the spring/summer 2020 campaign for their fashion label.

Posing in front of a painted landscape background, one portrait shows January and Kiernan standing side-by-side while sporting strapless silk floral gowns and with white pearls dotted throughout their hair, while another sees them posing in dramatic ballgowns.

Taking to Instagram to upload the images, January wrote alongside one of the snaps, “Casual family portraits are so back in.”

And the photographs caught the attention of the pair’s former Mad Men co-stars, with Christina Hendricks, who played Joan Holloway, noting, “When was this?!! So dreeeeeeemy (sic),” and Alison Brie, who portrayed Trudy Campbell, posting, “HOLY. S**T.”

However, January and Kiernan aren’t the only celebrities to appear in Rodarte’s latest imagery, with actresses Kirsten Dunst, Margaret Qualley, Gabrielle Union, Lili Reinhart, Helena Howard, Rowan Blanchard, and Yalitza Aparicio, as well as Haim musicians Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim, rapper Kilo Kish, and singer-songwriter King Princess also featuring.

The photoshoot was helmed by photographer Daria Kobayashi Ritch and styled by Shirley Kurata and Ashley Furnival. Regarding the decision to unveil portraits rather than a runway presentation, Laura told Vogue that they wanted to merge their interests in fashion and art.

“As we’ve become more confident and comfortable in our design voice and really seeing what our personality is within the design world, it’s been really nice to think artistically about creating a world behind each collection,” she shared.

Gabrielle Union has insisted her daughter Kaavia James has better style than she does.

The Being Mary Jane actress and her basketball player husband Dwyane Wade welcomed their firstborn via surrogate in November last year, and since then, Gabrielle has documented her tot’s day-to-day life on social media.

However, in a new interview with People, she noted that her style confidence has taken a knock since Kaavia James made her arrival.

“Dwyane and I thought we knew how to serve a look until Kaavia James came through to show us how it’s done,” Gabrielle laughed. “Mama is just trying to keep up!”

Earlier this year, the America’s Got Talent judge launched a special baby collection named after her daughter with New York & Company, and also created easy-to-wear pieces so she could twin with the nine-month-old.

Now, she’s focusing on her chic I’m Perfect capsule collection with the U.S. label, and invited women she’s inspired by – including basketball player Candace Parker, actress Dania Ramirez, model Isis King and dancer Nia Sioux – to appear in the accompanying campaign.

And the star is so excited about her previous collaborations with New York & Company, she’s keeping a few garments to show her daughter when she’s older.

“I can’t wait to show her the pieces from her own Kaavi James collection which were inspired by her,” the 46-year-old shared. “Kaavia has a very distinct personality and she’s very active, so often what I think looks great isn’t practical for her. While I love twinning with her, I cannot wait to encourage her to express her individuality.”
