Christina Ricci and Dianna Agron have been tapped to star in a campaign for footwear brand Roger Vivier.

The Sleepy Hollow actress and Glee star appear in the short film, titled “Abracashoes”, by the luxury French brand’s creative director Gherardo Felloni, who also makes a cameo in the clip.

In the footage, Ricci plays a magician and shoe thief, who is performing in a theatre. She chooses Agron’s character, who is wearing a pair of black Belle Vivier pumps, from the audience to be her volunteer and she lies down in a box.

Ricci’s illusionist performs a trick in which she saws Agron in half, but then steals the shoes from her feet while she’s stuck in the box and runs away. The clip ends with Agron yelling, “She stole my shoes”, and Fellini, as an audience member, laughing hysterically. Ricci is seen putting the shoes in an empty compartment of her magician’s box, revealing that she has been collecting different versions of the Belle Vivier. She stores the pumps away as she whispers, “Abracashoes”.

Explaining why he chose his campaign stars, Felloni described Ricci as “one of my dream actresses who I really admire” and Agron as “a talented young actress… Her beauty and sex appeal seduced me at first sight.”

Felloni creative directed the film, which was helmed by Nicolangelo Gelormini and styled by Elisa Nadin. It was shot over two days at Milan’s Teatro Gerolamo in December.

Abracashoes is the third film Felloni has made since joining the brand in 2018 – the first one starred French cinema icon Catherine Deneuve and the second featured Thelma & Louise actress Susan Sarandon.

Roger Vivier has dropped a collection of jewellery right in time for the party season.

The luxury footwear brand is perhaps best known for its stilettos and Pilgrim pumps with silver buckles. However, Roger Vivier creative director Gherardo Felloni has now unveiled a range of wearable jewellery pieces inspired by the Broche buckle for spring/summer 2020.

“These accessories are perfect for a party-ready look,” a brand spokesperson shared. “The Broche buckle, created by Felloni for his debut collection, has fast become a celebrity favourite. Inspired by the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles, the buckle features intricate detailing, with crystals aligned in perfect symmetry.”

The Broche Vivier bracelets come in 20mm and 25mm sizes, while the mini buckle is also available in bejewelled hair clips and earrings. There are two new buckle designs too, with the Brochamour Strass buckle, inspired by an archive shoe with a heart pattern, featuring small, red crystal hearts, and the Bouquet Strass buckle, which is inspired by flora and is set with pave crystals.

“And finally, the piece de resistance – the Bouquet Strass crown. This work of art is composed of hundreds of different-sized crystals, creating a row of flowers. Artisans set the crystal flowers on a velvet base, that is weaved and attached by hand,” they added.

There is also a choker and several other bracelets in the range. Items are modelled by Sophia Hadjipanteli in an accompanying campaign, with the pieces now available to purchase.

Susan Sarandon and AnnaSophia Robb have been tapped to front Roger Vivier’s latest campaign.

The Hollywood stars appear in the French luxury footwear label’s new marketing imagery and an accompanying video to promote creative director Gherardo Felloni’s fall/winter 2019 collection.

Named Jewels to Shoes and inspired by Italian director Antonio Pietrangeli’s 1965 film I Knew Her Well, the short film takes place in the heart of Upstate New York and follows an eccentric drama teacher, as played by Susan, and an aspiring actress, portrayed by AnnaSophia.

Regarding the collaboration, the Oscar-winning star commented that she was thrilled to be a part of the campaign as she greatly admires the fashion house and Gherardo’s designs.

“I love that (Gherardo) is a fan of cult movies, such as Antonio Pietrangeli’s I Knew Her Well, which was the inspiration for this story of an eccentric drama teacher and her young acting proteges,” she commented. “The collection is stunning, and I enjoyed dressing up in the best of Vivier.”

The project sees Susan and AnnaSophia showcase a number of new pieces, including the Tres Vivier boots, the matching Beau Vivier bag, the Viv’ Utility boots, and Broche Vivier bracelets.

In addition, pops of colour are evident in the inclusion of bright magenta Courbette pumps, vivid green boots and bold violet Broche Vivier ballerinas.

Accordingly, The Carrie Diaries actress AnnaSophia described the collaboration as a dream come true.

“It’s quirky, whimsical, romantic, and subversive; poignant for our current moment and beautifully encapsulates the interplay between fashion of past and present. Gherardo reimagined the film in our Jewels to Shoes short and I gasped when I learned I’d be working with one of my icons, Susan Sarandon. Susan embodies enduring class, sass, and style, as does Roger Vivier. It was a true honour working alongside these creative forces that have shaped our vision of womanhood.”

Roger Vivier has appointed a new creative director.

Representatives for the French luxury footwear company announced late last month (Feb18) that Bruno Frisoni was departing his post as head designer after a 16-year tenure, in which he had revitalised the label and won over a range of A-list clientele including Margot Robbie, Mary J. Blige, and Reese Witherspoon.

And on Monday (05Mar18), it was confirmed that Gherardo Felloni would succeed Frisoni, and unveil his first collection for the brand in September.

“Roger Vivier is the absolute reference of luxury shoes,” Felloni said in a statement. “I have always been fascinated by Mr. Vivier as a master of modernity, his ultimate chic and endless creativity. I feel honoured to be part of Roger Vivier today and develop it further, respecting its heritage and tradition while adding a contemporary and modern take, something Mr. Vivier has always demonstrated.”

Felloni re-posted a link to the announcement on his Instagram page too, adding in the caption that his new gig was a “dream come true”.

The Italian designer started out his career working at his father’s shoe factory, and later went on to work for a number of high-profile labels such as Christian Dior, Fendi and Helmut Lang. He has most recently been a design director of footwear, leather goods and costume jewellery at Miu Miu.

Paris-based Vivier was founded by Roger Henri Vivier, the designer who was credited with the design of the first stiletto heel in 1954 and later built up a reputation for his silk-satin knee-high boots and pumps with silver buckles. The company is now owned by Diego Della Valle’s company Tod’s.
