Jennifer Lopez had to convince her stylist to let her wear her now-iconic Versace dress to the 2000 Grammy Awards.

The superstar, who modelled a reimagined version of the dress at Versace’s spring/summer 2020 show last month, attracted huge media coverage when she stepped out at the music event alongside then-boyfriend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in the ensemble, which was made from silk chiffon and featured a plunging neckline.

But in a new video for Vogue.com, Jennifer recalled how her stylist at the time, Andrea Lieberman, said she couldn’t sport the gown.

“(On the day of the Grammys) there was two or three dresses… and then when I tried on the green one and I came out, everyone was there… glam and everybody… and they were like, ‘That’s the dress! That is the dress, that is what you are wearing. Let’s go,'” she remembered. “And then Andrea, my stylist was like, ‘You can’t wear that one,’ and I was like, ‘Why did you bring it then?'”

Jennifer went on to explain that Andrea had some reservations about the gown because designer Donatella Versace had already worn it to an event, as had Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell.

Yet, as soon as the I’m Real hitmaker made her entrance on the red carpet, she knew she had made the right decision.

“There was a little buzz in the air, people started yelling and screaming…. There was something extra about it,” the 50-year-old mused, before adding that she can’t believe how one dress altered her entire life.

“Donatella and I talk about it sometimes and we just usually mention it as The Dress… In terms of my career, this dress really marked a moment in time, if you don’t know my music and you don’t know my movies, people know about that moment and that dress. That was it.”

Bebe Rexha was left “heartbroken” after designers declined to outfit her for the 2019 Grammy Awards.

The Meant to Be hitmaker took to social media to vent back in January, accusing fashion leaders of refusing to take her on as a client for music’s big night because she was “too big”.

After drawing attention to the issue, beautiful Bebe wore a stunning crimson dress from Monsoori, and in a new interview for Cosmopolitan U.K. she reflected on all the emotions she experienced at the time.

“It broke my heart. I was so sad, so depressed. I felt like I was garbage,” the 30-year-old recalled. “I thought to myself, ‘This is bulls**t.’ “I was mad. I wasn’t trying to get back at anyone, but I wasn’t standing for it anymore. I was in the studio and I just left, went into the kitchen, and made a video on my phone.”

After posting the clip, Bebe was flooded with offers from many designers, including August Getty, Tanya Taylor, and Elizabeth Kennedy.

And her video has since racked up more than two million views and led to her becoming a vocal campaigner for body positivity.

“I’m sorry, I had to get this off my chest,” the star captioned the clip. “If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size. Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less then by their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 a*s is still going to the Grammys (sic).”

Taylor Swift has finally confessed she did copy Anna Wintour’s trademark hairstyle for the 2016 Grammy Awards.

The superstar stood out at the annual music event in a two-piece orange and pink outfit from Versace, but it was her new bob hairstyle with heavy fringe that really drew the attention of fashionistas, with many comparing the look to the blonde pageboy haircut that the U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief has worn for many years.

However, in a new video for Vogue.com, Taylor divulged that she had, in fact, paid homage to Anna with the hairstyle, when she asked, “My next question is, and you have to be really honest about this, how did you really feel when I copied your hairstyle at the 2016 Grammys?”

In response, the editor responded, “Taylor, I’m being very, very honest. And I would like to tell you… that I was honoured.”

The Shake It Off hitmaker proceeded to ask Anna whether she would rather live in a lighthouse or houseboat for the rest of her life, to which she replied, “Definitely lighthouse, I like to be on firm ground.”

Meanwhile, the most positive adjective the 69-year-old uses to describe a person, thing or concept is “generous spirit,” and conversely, the most negative is “disrespectful.”

Additionally, Taylor questioned Anna over the fashion trends she wishes hadn’t existed in the past couple of years.

“Well, I was just recently in Paris with the couture shows and I definitely saw far too many neon, leopard print leggings. Something I definitely would not want to see again,” she commented.

The video, part of the Go Ask Anna series, was filmed to celebrate Taylor landing the cover of U.S. Vogue’s prestigious September 2019 issue.

Bebe Rexha has partnered with fashion label Bebe on a new campaign.

The Meant to Be singer is an advocate for body positivity, and earlier this year, took aim at designers who declined to dress her for the Grammy Awards, reportedly due to her size.

Now, Rexha has teamed with up with bosses at the U.S. clothing brand for the Bebe Loves Bebe fall 2019 marketing imagery, which features the tagline, #LoveYourself.

“It’s incredible to be part of this Bebe campaign, it’s not only about me loving the brand, but more importantly about me loving myself! I hope to inspire and empower women all over the world with this message of self-love, I believe it is super important,” she commented. “I grew up wearing Bebe, it was the coolest piece of fashion you could have, so to be able to mix fashion and my music is so fun.”

The main image of the campaign shows Rexha posing in a black minidress, with the look accessorised with striped tights and a black purse. Other items in the collection include sportswear, outerwear, swimwear, active footwear, handbags, watches, jewellery, eyewear, accessories and kidswear.

Joey Gabbay, chief executive officer of Bluestar Alliance and manager of the Bebe brand, insisted that the two-time Grammy Award nominee was the ideal brand ambassador.

“The Bebe brand has a passionate consumer following, one that loves the brand and all it has to offer,” he shared. “Similarly, Bebe Rexha has passionate fans around the world that love her, her music and what she stands for. Beyond sharing a name, this was a natural partnership as Bebe is a longtime fan of the brand herself.”

The full 2019 Bebe collection is available at department stores across the U.S. as well as on the brand’s website.

Cardi B has splashed out $80,000 (£63,000) on diamond jewellery for her baby daughter Kulture.

The Bodak Yellow rapper took to Instagram on Monday to share a screenshot of a text message showing the details of her purchase as well as a photo of nine jewel-encrusted tennis bracelets and a pair of large diamond stud earrings.

“Everything will be ready at 3, bracelets are comin out cuteeee and changed the setting to the studs with the bigger pair, send ur guy at 3 also pls call Linda and tell her to wire the 80k, I just spoke to her she needs ur approval,” the text sent to Cardi stated, with the star adding in the caption, “Just spent a bag on my daughter, you know a bad b**ch gonna spoil. If I’m iced out my daughter gotta be too. YEUP IM BRAGGING CAUSE I BUST MY A*S TO DO SOO (sic).”

Cardi tagged New York-based jewellery company Pristine Jewelers in the post, and also uploaded a snap of Kulture, who she welcomed with her Migos rapper husband Offset last July, wearing one of the diamond bracelets.

However, she has since deleted both images from her Instagram page.

Cardi is no stranger to expensive bling, as the eight-carat teardrop-shaped diamond engagement ring Offset proposed to her with is worth an estimated $500,000 (£395,000).

Speaking about the ring on the red carpet at the 2018 Grammy Awards, the 26-year-old commented to E! News reporters, “It makes me feel good. Even when we’re in an argument… I’m like, ‘Does he really love me?’ He got me a half-million dollar ring, yeah he does.”

Cardi’s shopping spree comes shortly after she announced that she would be dropping new single Press, which she first teased in December, on Friday.

Bebe Rexha stunned in a gorgeous red tulle gown at the 61st annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (10Feb19) and threw shade at the designers who refused to style her.

The pop star, who received her first two Grammy nominations in January, called out fashion designers in an Instagram video later that month for not wanting to dress her for the ceremony because she is not “runway size”.

However, on Sunday, the Say My Name singer slayed the red carpet in a scarlet Monsoori gown with a halter-style top, a nipped in waist and flowing tulle skirt. And she had a strong message for the designers who overlooked her.

“Yo, you wish you could’ve dressed my fat a*s!”, the singer blasted when asked about the controversy, according to Teen Vogue.

The 29-year-old accessorised her fairytale look with a diamante necklace, jewelled earrings, and a messy updo.

And during E!’s Live From the Red Carpet, the blonde singer was thankful for the outpouring of support she received in the wake of her video.

“It’s been amazing. I didn’t expect it,” she smiled in a chat with Ryan Seacrest. “I just did the video because I was really heartbroken and it bummed me. They said I was too big or fat and I love my body and I just want other girls to love their bodies.”

After Bebe posted the video in which she slammed designers for not saying they can’t dress someone “that isn’t runway size”, the size 8 singer urged the fashion industry to empower women to “love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less then by their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large!” she insisted.

It soon prompted fashion stars Karl Lagerfeld, Moschino, Christian Siriano and Michael Costello to reach out, leaving Bebe with plenty of options.

While she was a winner in the style stakes, the double nominee left the ceremony empty-handed, losing the Best New Artist gong to British singer Dua Lipa and the Best Country Duo/Group Performance to duo Dan + Shay.

Ariana Grande offers glimpse of the dress she chose for Grammys

Ariana Grande is showing off the stunning gown she intended to wear to the Grammy Awards before boycotting the ceremony after a feud with producers.

The singer took to Instagram on Monday (11Feb19) to share an image of herself lying on the floor in a strapless light blue dress designed by Zac Posen. She accessorised the look with diamond jewellery, including Borgioni opal diamond earrings and a custom Butani choker necklace.

“When @zacposen makes u a custom gown it doesn’t matter if you’re singing or not… thank u.” she captioned the image.

In another post, Grande shared a video of her dog, Myron, playing with the dress, lying on it’s train as she walked.

The 26 year old opted to sit out the ceremony after a heated disagreement with Grammy boss Ken Ehrlich, who claimed he tried to reason with the singer over her performance plans when he explained she couldn’t sing a song that wasn’t nominated.

After several conversations with the producer she decided not to perform or attend music’s big night, and then took aim at Ken when he told the media the singer felt she didn’t have time to plan another set for the ceremony.

Grande took issue with his side of the story on Twitter, raging: “I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me,” she wrote. “I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you that I decided not to attend. I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.”

Grande added: “i offered 3 different songs. it’s about collaboration. it’s about feeling supported. it’s about art and honesty. not politics. not doing favors or playing games. it’s just a game y’all… and i’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.”

During the big event, Grande was awarded Best Pop Vocal Album for her fourth studio album Sweetener.

Shawn Mendes is the smiling face of a new campaign for the braces brand SmileDirectClub.

The 20 year old has signed on to promote the company as part of an ad that promises to help create a flawless smile for customers. The Treat You Better hitmaker hopes to spread the company’s message of confidence and positivity by encouraging fans to sign up for the teeth-straightening service.

“I’m really excited to partner with SmileDirectClub and collaborate with a company that aims to build confidence and spread positivity in an authentic way,” Mendes said in a statement.

SmileDirectClub is a digital network that allows patients to straighten their teeth from the comfort of their home. The process starts with a scan that orthodontists then use to create a series of aligners, which are sent to the customer’s home and switched out every few weeks.

“SmileDirectClub was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of, and we’re thrilled to team up with Shawn Mendes, who truly embodies the confidence that comes with an amazing smile,” said co-founder of SmileDirectClub Alex Fenkell. “We know he’s a perfect partner to help spread our message and mission.”

Last week (ends08Feb19), the star took to Instagram to tease the new partnership in a video post.

“My smile shows the world who I am,” he said in the footage. “What does your smile show the world?”

Mendes has every reason to smile after snagging one of this year’s most memorable Grammy Awards moments on Sunday night (10Feb19) – a rousing rendition of his song In My Blood with Miley Cyrus.

Lady Gaga shone in a stunning silver Celine by Hedi Slimane gown as she led the way on what was a sparkling red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (10Feb19).

The A Star Is Born actress, who missed the BAFTAs for the music prize-giving, looked incredible in her disco ball inspired dress, which featured a ruffle accent down one side and a sexy thigh-high split. She teamed the eye-catching gown with a pair of Jimmy Choo platform shoes, and added even more sex appeal with a smoky eye.

But the multi-talented star wasn’t done there. She finished off her look by piling on more than 100 carats of diamond Tiffany & Co. jewellery, including a Tiffany Blue Book Collection necklace, which took more than a year to design and contains 91 carats of diamonds. Gaga also added a pair of princess-cut Tiffany 10 carat diamond earrings.

“Since its introduction in 1845, the annual Tiffany Blue Book Collection has served as a laboratory for Tiffany’s most exquisite hand-crafted designs and we are thrilled to have an artist such as Lady Gaga wearing the collection,” Reed Krakoff, Tiffany & Co. chief artistic officer said in a statement.

Gaga wasn’t the only star to opt for a sparkling look on the red carpet; Jennifer Lopez went all out in a Ralph & Russo white gown, which featured a high neckline and tonnes of diamond embellishments. She finished the look by donning a flat rimmed hat with matching diamond detailing. Camila Cabello added some colour to her sparkling ensemble by wearing a show-stopping Armani Prive gown in a hot pink hue, which she teamed with Platinum by Harry Winston diamond earrings.

Cardi B had her own take on the glittering trend, showcasing her enviable post-baby figure in a vintage Mugler Couture outfit, which featured a sheer, glittering bodysuit and large structured black skirt. Pink elbow length gloves and a pearl belt and necklace finished off her look.

Other famous faces went for more subdued looks, with just a dash of sparkle. Kylie Jenner opted for a Balmain Haute Couture jumpsuit in baby pink with a white satin belt featuring slight bedazzling adding some extra glamour. Meanwhile, Katy Perry divided opinion in her bubblegum pink Balmain Couture gown, which had a strapless neckline and silver detailing on the bust. While some praised her for donning the unique piece, others compared the ruffled skirt to torn toilet paper.

Singer Bebe Rexha has been moved by the outpouring of support she has received after sharing her struggle to find designers willing to dress her.

The 29 year old took posted a video on Instagram, in which she revealed she was finding it difficult to find a dress for the upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony.

The star, who is nominated for two gongs, made it clear that she felt her size was a factor, accusing top designers of snubbing her because she’s a six to eight and, therefore, “too big” to wear high end looks.

“A lot of times artists will go and talk to designers, and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet… I had my team hit out a lot of designers, and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big,” she said. “If a size 6/8 is too big then, I don’t know what to tell you. Then I don’t want to wear your f**king dresses… To all the people that said that I’m thick… f**k you, I don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses.”

The rant prompted several celebrities to salute The Way I Are hitmaker, with Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert among those taking a stand with her, while Project Runway mentor Christian Siriano sent words of encouragement via social media and offered to dress her for the Grammys. He wasn’t alone – Bebe also got offers from Michael Costello, August Getty, Tanya Taylor, and Elizabeth Kennedy.

The reaction was not something Rexha expected.

“I really just wanted to share my story and how frustrated I was,” she tells People. “I never expected to receive the amount of love and support that I did.”

Though she has yet to settle on a look for the Grammys, she knows what type of outfit she is looking for, telling the publication, “I just need to feel good!”
