Rihanna personally signed off on every single detail in her latest Savage X Fenty collection.

The singer and fashion designer showed off the latest collection for her lingerie brand during an epic extravaganza at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as part of New York Fashion Week on Tuesday night.

But in an interview with Entertainment Tonight backstage, the 31-year-old revealed that she is “too involved” in all aspects of the design process and there is nothing in the line that hasn’t had her stamp of approval.

“Oh my God, I’m too involved. I want a break but I’m a control freak, so I do everything,” Rihanna shared. “I see everything. There’s not one step of the way, there’s not one lace trim, there’s not one bra strap… there is not one bow on a panty that I do not see and approve.

“It’s a lot of work, but it’s the only way you can preserve a brand, that you start from scratch… Here, I have a unique opportunity to change things. I’ve always been so sincere with my perspective on this brand but to see the way that we’re perceived in the lingerie world.”

The fashion and beauty mogul added that there’s pressure on her to continue producing size-inclusive garments, admitting, “It makes me feel like now we cannot neglect those consumers.”

This year’s Savage X Fenty presentation was bigger than ever thanks to a partnership with executives at Amazon Prime Video, who will exclusively broadcast the show on 20 September. To keep details under wraps, photography and cell phones were banned from the venue.

In addition to the new designs, the show will also feature performances from DJ Khaled, Halsey, Big Sean, and Migos, among others, as well as special appearances from Cara Delevingne, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Normani, Joan Smalls, and Laverne Cox.

Halsey and DJ duo The Martinez Brothers have been recruited to star in DKNY’s 30th birthday campaign.

The New York natives have helped bosses at the label celebrate the milestone with a stunning new campaign shot by fashion photographer Peter Arnell.

Set against a backdrop of the city’s skyscrapers, the black and white images showcase several new looks from the luxury label, which hark back to DKNY’s heritage campaigns of the 1990s.

In one image, Halsey is decked out in leopard-print bike shorts, a bra top, puffer jacket and sneakers from the DKNY fall 2019 collection, while The Martinez Brothers sport chic suits.

“DKNY is the spirit of New York. It’s diversity and drive. It’s hard work and a pinch of destiny. They say if a bee strays too far from its hive, it will die. DKNY keeps my home in my heart, and the magic in my mind. It’s an honour to be a part of their 30th birthday,” the Without Me hitmaker said in a statement.

Steven and Chris Martinez said partnering with DKNY was a natural fit, and “makes perfect sense”.

“We were born and raised in the Bronx. We are blessed to have found our passion through music. It’s taken us to the far corners of the world, and along the way we have met so many people and have had the craziest adventures. At the end of it all though, New York is our home… That’s why this partnership with DKNY is so natural and makes perfect sense for us. Excited to be a part of their family and continue to tell this New York story,” they shared.

In addition to the slick photo campaign, Halsey and The Martinez Brothers are set to perform at a 30th birthday party for the fashion house during New York Fashion Week in September.

Demi Lovato has defended Halsey’s decision to show off underarm stubble in her Rolling Stone cover shot.

The 24-year-old appears on the front of the magazine’s new annual Hot Issue with her arms stretched above her head showing a little armpit hair, sending some fans into a frenzy.

Many applauded the singer’s au naturel look, while one critic wrote: “Thought you were a millionaire just buy some wax.”

Now, Demi has stepped up to defend Halsey, writing: “There so much yes about this picture idk (I don’t know) where to start (sic).”

It’s not the first time the Skyscraper hitmaker has applauded her peers for tackling body issues – she praised Bebe Rexha for opening up about sizeism in January this year.

In an Instagram video, Bebe called out fashion designers who refused to collaborate with her on a dress for the Grammys because she is “too big” and voiced her frustrations at the process of finding garments for red carpet events.

Accordingly, Demi responded in the comments section, “F**king preach!!! Love this and you for speaking your mind and using your voice!!!”

In the past, the 26-year-old star has also been open about her own battles with body image and at one point sought help for eating disorder bulimia, among other health and addiction struggles.

Back in 2017, she tweeted, “I’m having bad body image issue days, I remind myself that I’d rather live in freedom from my eating disorder than worry about what people think about my body.”

Taylor Swift has continued with her pastel streak by wearing a lilac dress to the 2019 Billboard Music Awards.

Almost a week after dropping her new single ME!, the singer made a splash on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday night (01May19) when she stepped out in a light purple skater-style minidress from Raisa & Vanessa.

Taylor accessorised with matching high heels from Casadei, and a star-studded ear cuff, while her make-up artist Lorrie Turk completed the look by giving her a sweep of lavender-coloured eyeshadow on her lids and slick of rose-pink lipstick.

With her upcoming seventh studio album, Taylor has recently adopted a new pastel-shaded aesthetic, having been spotted out and about in New York City with pink dip-dyed hair and floral-printed dresses, while she also helped to design the peach and yellow-coloured J. Mendel gown that she wore to the recent Time 100 Gala.

In addition, the superstar has been curating her Instagram page to reflect her new theme, with the account now featuring close-up images of pink sequin fabric, a light blue bicycle, heart-shaped jewellery, pastel tiles, and pink and yellow handbags.

Other celebrities to make sartorial statements at the Billboard Music Awards included Cardi B, who rocked a canary yellow skirt and top from Moschino, and Diplo, who opted for a purple and gold cowboy-inspired suit.

Ciara wowed in a black dress with flowing train from Stephane Rolland, actress Olivia Wilde dazzled in a gold Ralph Lauren number, and Jennifer Hudson opted for a brown Area Suit with crystal detailing, which she matched with Stuart Weitzman shoes and The Residency earrings.

Sophie Turner, who wed fiance Joe Jonas following the ceremony, sported head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, while her sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra looked stunning in a white Zuhair Murad Couture ensemble.

Elsewhere, Halsey turned heads in a blue satin and black lace dress, which she matched with dramatic make-up and purple lipstick, and rapper Yung Miami rocked a neon green tulle dress from Oyemwen and bright yellow Christian Louboutin pumps.

Taylor Swift debuted pink hair at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night (14Mar19).

The superstar made a rare red carpet appearance at the music bash held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, stopping to pose for photographers in a playful sequin Rosa Bloom romper, which she paired with Sophia Webster high heels.

However, fans were quick to notice that Taylor had dyed her blonde ponytail a rose-pink shade for the event in an Instagram post that she uploaded shortly before arriving at the event, which she captioned, “Bout to walk out on the @iheartradio carpet, thought I’d show you first.”

A number of followers praised her fresh new look on social media, with one writing, “I love the pink in her hair!!!” and another adding, “Pink highlights?! Is a new era coming? And I love her outfit so much!”

During the ceremony, Taylor collected the prize for Tour of the Year for her Reputation Stadium Tour and addressed rumours that she is working on new music in her acceptance speech by commenting, “I just wanted to let you know that when there’s new music, you will be the first to know.”

The Delicate singer wasn’t the only star to have pink hair at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, as Halsey, the winner of the Fangirls Award, stepped out with freshly dyed candy floss-coloured locks.

And actress Shay Mitchell turned heads when she arrived wearing a silver Nicolas Jebran dress and jacket, with her ensemble topped off with a bright blonde wig.

“Freaking out my grandma every time I wear a different wig to an event, will never get old,” the 31-year-old wrote alongside a snap of her posing on a red carpet.

Other celebrities to make a sartorial statement included Katy Perry, who wore a retro Paska dress with black gloves and matching headband, and John Legend, who rocked a lilac suit from Paul Smith.

Singer Halsey unveiled a controversial new inking on Wednesday (13Feb19) which managed to both delight and confuse her fans.

The Without Me singer, who is currently in Australia with her British musician boyfriend Yungblud, added to her 20-plus tattoo collection with an eye-catching piece inked down the side of her torso of goth rocker Marilyn Manson’s face.

Halsey proudly showed off the tattoo, which is placed on the side of her body, and shows the rocker’s eyes, nose and mouth in black ink, in a photo posted on Instagram

“adelaide today. absolutely obsessed. Manson by mega babe @celiadunne_tattoos”, she captioned the photo which proudly displayed the work done by tattoo artist Celia Dunne.

Fans were quick to react to the new inking, with some praising it while others called Manson “an abuser” and a “nazi”.

“Marilyn Manson has many assault allegations against him on women much less, yet days ago you were wearing a feminist shirt on SNL. It’s beautiful as the art is, how can you represent such a dark man?” read one of the comments on her post.

And when the 24-year-old took to Twitter to announce her new ink, some of her followers mistook the name “Manson” to represent late cult leader and convicted murderer Charles Manson, which she was forced to quickly clarify.

“got manson tatted on my ribs I love Adelaide so much already. Marilyn. not Charles. Sheeesh lol”, she explained.

Meanwhile the Bad At Love hitmaker later posted a video message on Instagram teasing her Sydney fans with the possibility of a surprise show.

The simple video with green text stated: “Sydney… There will be a Valentine’s Day surprise waiting for you from tomorrow…” before directing fans to turn up to venue The Commune, a big warehouse suitable for a pop-up concert on the day of romance.

She concluded the message by saying, “See you there. H xxx”.

Ashley Graham has weighed in on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show controversy, insisting that for her, “beauty has always been beyond size”.

The lingerie brand came under fire for their lack of diversity in their annual show, with many models calling them out for not including any curvy models in the runway extravaganza.

Ashley, arguably the world’s most famous plus-size models, had her say as the Fashion Show aired on U.S. television on Sunday night (02Dec18), sharing a series of pictures from her Ashley Graham for Addition Elle lingerie catwalk show on her Instagram page alongside the caption “#BeautyBeyondSize”.

Explaining why she decided to make the public statement, Ashley told People: “For me beauty has always been beyond size. This is about using women who look different because we all look different and we need to praise that difference about us. That is what is beautiful, it’s that we’re all not created the same. So I am just so happy that I actually make lingerie for women who want to feel sexy and who want to feel accepted.

“I can’t speak to what anybody else wants to do except for myself and the fact that I will always have an inclusive runway show.”

Victoria’s Secret have also come under fire after chief executive Ed Razek commented in an interview with U.S. Vogue that he had opted against including transgender models in the show. He later apologised for being insensitive, but was slammed by stars including Halsey, who had performed at the annual show in November.

Behati Prinsloo was one of the models who walked in the runway presentation, and defended Victoria’s Secret in a chat with Elle magazine, telling the publication: “There’s a lot of talk about everything but I think people need to also understand that it’s a show. It’s not saying negative or positive about any body type, it’s ‘this is who they are’.

“We’re strong, we’re confident, and I think any woman is a Victoria’s Secret woman. But people also need to understand that it’s just a show.”

Halsey has weighed in on the Victoria’s Secret controversy following Ed Razek’s “insensitive” transgender remark after making a donation to an LGBTQ organisation and encouraging others to do the same.

The underwear company’s chief marketing officer Razek came under fire days after the brand’s annual Fashion Show following comments he made in an interview with U.S. Vogue in which he insisted he had considered casting transgender and plus-sized models in the latest spectacle but decided against doing so because the company “did not market to the whole world”.

“Shouldn’t you have transsexuals in the show?” he mused. “No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It’s a 42-minute entertainment special.”

He later apologised on social media for coming across as “insensitive”.

Halsey was one of the musical performers at the Fashion Show, which aired on U.S. television on Sunday night (02Dec18), and took to Instagram to admit she’s more than a little disappointed with the label following Razek’s remarks.

“I have adored the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show since I was young. Performing this year alongside other amazing artists, and hardworking models/friends, was supposed to be the best night of my year,” she wrote.

“However, after I filmed the performance, some comments were made regarding the show that I simply cannot ignore. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have no tolerance for a lack of inclusivity. Especially not one motivated by stereotype.”

Encouraging her fans to direct their attention to organisation GLSEN, which offers services protecting LGBTQ+ youth, Halsey continued: “And with respect to those youth targeted by these comments in a world where they have been made to feel ‘other’, I have made a sizeable donation in their honour.”

And concluding her post, the singer referenced Razek’s interview.

“If you are a trans person reading this, and these comments have made you feel alienated or invalidated, please know that you have allies,” she stated. “We stand in solidarity, and complete and total acceptance is the only ‘fantasy’ that I support.”

Bella Hadid has teased what to expect from the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with some backstage snaps.

The supermodel will be walking the catwalk alongside sister Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Winnie Harlow, as well as Angels like Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo and Candice Swanepoel.

This will be Bella’s third time walking in the lingerie brand’s annual show, and she decided to share a sneak peek during the Victoria’s Secret fittings which took place on Sunday (04Nov18).

“@victoriassecret fittings today (heart emoji) i can’t wait for you to see all of the beautiful outfits,” the 22-year-old wrote alongside a series of photos which showed her flaunting her slim physique in a matching black lingerie set and knee-high snakeskin boots.

Bella also appeared to address the recent backlash from those who have accused the label of failing to showcase a diverse range of body types on its runway, with many claiming that the Victoria’s Secret models are typically too thin. However, Bella insisted that she was feeling healthier than ever.

“…i’m so grateful to be a part of the show again, feeling happier and healthier than ever (heart emoji),” she said, adding, “(all body types are different and react differently to a great workout routine and a healthy diet (heart, muscle and star emoji)).”

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is scheduled to take place in New York City on 8 November, and will air in the U.S. on the ABC network in December.

Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Halsey, The Chainsmokers, Kelsea Ballerini, Shawn Mendes and The Struts will all be performing at the hotly anticipated fashion extravaganza.

“The show is a year-long production, and 2018 promises to be our most ambitious yet,” said Victoria’s Secret executive producer Ed Razek in a statement. “We have more musical guests, more fashion and more stories than ever; and, of course, 60 of the world’s top models.”
