Adele’s personal trainer has blasted online trolls for suggesting the singer’s stunning weight loss is all about album sales and ongoing success.

The Hello hitmaker posted a photo of her new look on social media earlier this week, and in among all the congratulations, there were some snide remarks about the motivation behind the slim down, with some critics claiming she may have felt the need to lose weight to fit music industry stereotypes.

But Pete Geracimo, the London-based trainer who helped motivate Adele at the beginning of her weight loss journey, has now clapped back, admitting he’s disheartened by all the negative feedback and “fat-phobic accusations questioning the genuineness of her amazing weight loss”.

“In my personal experience of working with her through many highs and lows, she always marched to the beat of her own drum on her own terms,” Pete wrote in an Instagram post. “When Adele and I started our journey together, it was never about getting super skinny. It was about getting her healthy. Especially post-pregnancy and post-surgery.

“When (album) 25 dropped and the tour (was) announced, we had to get ready for a 13-month gruelling schedule. In that time, she warmed to training and made better food choices. As a result, she lost considerable weight and people took notice. Her body transformation was splashed across every media outlet. The attention it generated was mind-blowing.

“Since she moved to LA, it’s been well documented that she underwent some tough personal changes. It’s only natural that with change comes a new sense of self and wanting to be your best possible version. She embraced better eating habits and committed to her fitness… I could not be prouder or happier for her!

“This metamorphosis is not for album sales, publicity or to be a role model. She is doing it for herself and for (son) Angelo.”

The changes Pete is referring to include her split from husband Simon Konecki and their subsequent divorce.

“My hope is that people appreciate the hard work that Adele has done to improve herself for the benefit to her and her family only,” the trainer added. “She did not lose the weight to make others feel bad about themselves. This personal transformation has nothing to do with me or you. It’s about Adele and how she wants to live her life. She has not changed from the Adele we grew up with and have loved. There is just a little less of her to go around.”

Adele has showed off her incredible transformation in a new social media post to mark her 32nd birthday.

The Hello singer took to Instagram on Wednesday to upload a picture of herself posing in a black, high-neck minidress with puffball sleeves while standing in front of a giant floral arch outside of her home in Los Angeles.

In the accompanying caption, Adele thanked her fans for their well wishes and also took the time to acknowledge essential healthcare workers on the frontline during the global coronavirus pandemic.

“Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time,” she wrote. “I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels. 2020 okay bye thanks x.”

Famous followers including designers Riccardo Tisci and Virgil Abloh, Lil Nas X, Jameela Jamil, and Rita Wilson were quick to wish the Someone Like You hitmaker a happy birthday in the comments on the post, which has already amassed almost two million likes.

And Chrissy Teigen was one of the first to note the mother-of-one’s total body transformation, with Adele having reportedly lost around seven stone (44 kilograms).

“I mean are you kidding me,” the model and cookbook author quipped, while Oprah Winfrey pressed the British star for new music this year: “Our birthday gift should be an Adele 2020 album, yes?!”

The Oscar winner split from her husband, Simon Konecki, in April last year.

Adele has reportedly told a fan that she’s lost around 100 pounds (45 kilograms) in weight.

The Hello singer hit headlines last week when she was seen on the beach in Anguilla showcasing a noticeably slimmer frame as she holidayed alongside pals Harry Styles and James Corden.

During the vacation, Adele dined at a beachside restaurant, where she got chatting to two fans who asked her about her new look.

“Adele came over and sat down next to me and my friend and was like, ‘So what can I do for you girls?'” Lexi Larson told People. “We were so excited. We were talking to her for a little while, and then she got Harry Styles to come over and sit with us also. We took a picture with Harry, and we talked to them for 15 minutes probably.

“She said she lost something like 100 pounds and that it’s such a crazy positive experience. She seemed so happy, and she looked amazing. She seemed really confident.”

According to reports, Adele has been following The Sirtfood Diet, which encourages people to eat sirtuin activator foods that suppress the appetite, such as apples, citrus fruits, blueberries, green tea, olive oil, and kale.

The 31-year-old has also apparently been participating in Reformer Pilates classes and taking part in regular sessions with private trainer Dalton Wong.

Previously, Adele showed off her svelte new figure in some snaps posted on Instagram at Christmas time, one of which she showed her posing next to a person dressed as The Grinch.

The British star has been steadily shedding the pounds since she split from her long-term partner Simon Konecki, the father of her seven-year-old son Angelo, in April 2019.

Adele has given fans another glimpse of her svelte new figure by sharing pictures from a recent Christmas party.

The 31-year-old shared two snaps from the festive bash on Instagram on Monday, showing off her staggering weight loss, which is estimated to be around 42 pounds (19 kilograms), while wearing a black silk dress.

“We both tried to ruin Christmas but then both our hearts grew! Thank you for coming to my party and making us feel like kids Grinch,” Adele wrote alongside the black-and-white pictures of her posing with The Grinch and Santa Claus. “Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone x.”

The mother-of-one paired her dress with pieces of costume jewellery, her signature red lipstick and chic waves in her shoulder-length hair.

“The only Christmas present I need!” one fan commented on the post, while another gushed: “YOU LOOK AMAZING GO OFF QUEEN.”

The Hello hitmaker has been steadily shedding the pounds since she split from her long-term partner Simon Konecki earlier this year. The couple, who share seven-year-old son Angelo, announced their separation in a statement in April, after eight years together.

Adele first debuted her dramatic weight loss at the end of October, when she attended Drake’s star-studded 33rd birthday bash in Hollywood wearing an off-the-shoulder black velvet dress.

“I used to cry but now I sweat,” she wrote alongside snaps of her from the party, referencing her new workout regime.

According to People, the Grammy winner takes part in regular sessions with private trainer Dalton Wong, who has worked with her close friend Jennifer Lawrence, Pilates classes, and workouts at Rise Nation.

Lionel Richie has launched his first fragrance collection in time for the holidays.

The singer, who released his hit tune Hello in 1984, is looking to make a splash in the perfume market with the new HELLO by Lionel Richie Eau de Toilette and HELLO by Lionel Richie Eau de Parfum.

Inspired by Lionel’s “passion for music and love of romance”, the women’s scent features notes of pear, lemon, grapefruit and pink pepper, and has a base of honey, tonka, ambrox, and patchouli, leaving a rich, spicy impression, while the men’s version is a “sexy, sparkling fougere mixed with warm, ambery notes that exudes an intoxicating and modern aromatic experience”.

The top notes feature hints of bergamot, grapefruit, bitter orange and mint, with a base of patchouli, vetiver, and ambrox.

“I’ve always looked at fragrance as a way to express yourself, so I wanted to take my creative expression one step further and decided to craft my very own fragrances,” the 70-year-old explained of the collection. “While working through this process, I realised there are many similarities between songwriting and fragrance creation – the notes have to work together. I merged my own style and the embodiment of my love songs to create a fragrance collection I’m proud to share with fans and people around the world.”

Both scents come packaged in a glass bottled covered in gold lattice work. The perfume is available to purchase from Amazon, with prices starting at $36 (£27) for a 30ml flacon.

In addition to his perfume collection, Lionel also has homeware collection, comprised of bedding, pillows, and towels, available to buy from the JCPenney department store in the U.S.

Iskra Lawrence believes plus-size modelling can “empower people with confidence,” regardless of accusations that such models could promote obesity.

The British model is renowned for her curvaceous figure and positive attitude to body image, which she tries to instil in her 4.3 million Instagram followers through inspirational and authentic posts. Though plus-size modelling is sometimes seen as a controversial practice, Iskra, who has posed for brands like Aerie and L’Oreal Paris, is adamant that there are significant benefits.

“People say plus-size models encourage obesity, but what about making people feel so s**t about themselves they can’t do anything with their lives?” she questioned in an interview with Hello! Fashion Magazine, adding that she often received messages from young girls who are too self-conscious to wear a swimsuit.

“That’s worse. Empowering people with confidence enables them to try new things, to go out there, even to start a new relationship – to learn to love themselves. That’s why, for me, body shaming is so detrimental to us individually and as a society.”

The 28-year-old recalled that started to believe something was wrong with her body when her 36-and-a-half inch hips were two and a half inches larger than the criteria established by an agent in the early days of her fashion career. After an unhealthy routine of starving and working out, Iskra decided to join a local agency near her home in Worcestershire – which didn’t offer the most glamorous jobs.

“There are thousands of pictures of me modelling fancy dress costumes online,” she giggled. “If you Google ‘sailor outfit’ then there I am; or ‘chef’s outfit’ and that’s me; or ‘Fiona from Shrek’ and there I am painted green.”

However, Iskra is adamant that she wouldn’t change anything about her journey to success.

“It’s taking a hell of a long time for me to get here – about 14 or 15 years,” she pointed out. “If it had happened overnight, I can’t imagine I’d have the same respect for it.”

Lionel Richie has launched a home linen collection to show off his skills as an interior design guru.

The Hello singer has teamed up with U.S. retailer JC Penney for a new venture, which he insists will wow fans.

“This is an eclectic design experience offering that connects my joy and love of life,” the star says in a new statement. “Home is an extension of songwriting for me.”

Lionel felt inspired while creating the new range, which includes bed sheets, towels, and pillow sets in a range of colours, insisting he wanted to produce pieces that took him into the homes of his fans.

“‘I have fun curating many decor style pieces to create my own unique personality,” he explains. “My tip is to try to experience life to the fullest, keep it simple, and create your own unique space at home.”

And the Dancing on the Ceiling hitmaker insists he is the perfect person to get behind the new JC Penney venture, because he has spent so much of his life trying to turn hotel rooms into a home from home – and he really appreciates any time he gets to hang out in his own pad.

“I travel so much,” he adds, “but home is my tranquility, my stay-cation, and through my passion for home design and experiences, I want to design a beautiful home space for you.”

Naomi Campbell has urged the younger generation to tackle humanitarian issues.

The supermodel was one of the key speakers at the One Young World summit, which took place in The Hague, Netherlands, over the weekend (19-21Oct18). Terry Crews, Bob Geldof, Rosario Dawson, Akon, and Amber Heard also took to the stage.

During her empowering speech, Naomi encouraged young people to work together to bring about real change in the world.

“As you go out into the world, I challenge you to explore your passions through a humanitarian lens,” she implored. “You’ll find that you’ll begin to tackle large humanitarian issues which will garner strength in numbers and input from many different voices and this is good.

“In my experience, the greatest impact and the best solutions come about when people from diverse backgrounds (are) bound together by a common goal. It is truly a beautiful experience to be a part of a meaningful change, and we are all part of this meaningful change by just being here tonight.”

Before her rousing speech, the 48-year-old spoke to The Press Association about the current state of diversity in the media.

Calling out weekly celebrity and lifestyle publication Hello!, Naomi said she was left unimpressed by what she saw on the magazine’s pages.

“I picked up a Hello! magazine today and if I was not from London I would think, ‘My God, London is completely whitewashed.’ That’s what it sells you, it’s awful,” she vented. “London is one of the most diverse cities and cosmopolitan cities in the world and we have a huge diversity of people. I was shocked. I was just like, ‘Wow.'”

Proving how dedicated she is to the cause, Naomi recently met with British Prime Minister Theresa May to discuss the issue.

“I was very impressed with the PM’s desire to both acknowledge and confront these shared interests of tackling race equality and mental health. I also pledged to support the PM on these issues,” she told her Instagram followers.

Superstar Adele has honoured country icon Dolly Parton by dressing up as her busty blonde “hero” and sharing a sweet message online.

The 29-year-old took to social media on Tuesday (30Jan18) to show off the complete makeover she underwent for a night out, wearing an all-pink pant suit with a low-cut white shirt and a big curly blonde wig while holding a guitar.

Adele, who also sported blue eye shadow and long red nails, captioned the photo: “The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton! We love you! We wish we could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life.”

“I’ll always love you,” the Brit added, quoting Dolly’s 1970s hit I Will Always Love You, which was revamped by Whitney Houston for The Bodyguard soundtrack in 1992.

The Hello hitmaker didn’t reveal the reason for her fancy dress, but Dolly has since praised the costume effort, commenting on her Instagram picture: “And I will always love you!”

Dolly previously expressed her admiration for Adele, whose signature cat-eye make-up inspired a lyric in the 72-year-old’s 2016 song Head Over High Heels, on which she sings, “I painted my lips red/And my eyes like Adele”.

“Everyone loves Adele,” Dolly gushed to the BBC at the time. “With all my little nieces, it’s all, ‘Adele this’ and ‘Adele that!’ And I love how she does her make-up, and so I’m always saying to my little nieces, ‘Can you fix my eyes like Adele?’.

“When I started that (Head Over High Heels) song, I had not planned to write that line. I was just thinking, ‘This needs to be about a girl dressing up sexy, so she’s got to have some make-up, and she’s got to paint her eyes.’ And all of a sudden it’s like, ‘And my eyes like Adele!'”
