Fashion brand HUGO has unveiled a capsule collection inspired by the late David Bowie.
The British singer-songwriter, who died at the age of 69 in 2016, was as well known for his edgy personal style as for his bold costume choices.
Now, designers at the label have released the limited-edition HUGO Loves Bowie line, which includes pieces for men and women.
“David Bowie was a rebel spirit who lived life on his own terms,” said Bart de Backer, senior head of design for HUGO Menswear. “This capsule is an opportunity for us to celebrate the impact he had on the world and the values that we share.”
The range is centred on a palette of black, white, and red, with some items featuring album artwork.
Bowie’s Berlin Trilogy, a body of work inspired by the German capital and consisting of the albums Low, Heroes, and Lodger, is referenced throughout the collection, with one sweatshirt paying homage to his 1977 album Heroes and including photographs of the Starman hitmaker shot for the album’s cover by Masayoshi Sukita.
There are also accessories and T-shirts printed with the original slogan used to promote the album: “Tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming.”
“HUGO is a brand whose DNA is closely linked to popular culture – especially music. Music will remain a source of inspiration for the brand and will continue to influence the collections going forward,” a company representative added.
The HUGO Loves Bowie collection is now available to purchase from HUGO stores, online, and selected partner retailers worldwide.

Hayden Panettiere stunned fans with a dramatic new look as she returned to Twitter on Wednesday after a 10-month hiatus.
The 30-year-old actress, who hadn’t posted anything on Twitter since February, made her comeback to share a selfie of her makeover, showing fans that she had swapped her long blonde locks for a silver pixie cut with shaved sides.
“Channelling my inner #Kirby #Scream4 Thanks to my boys @anthonyleonard,” Hayden wrote in the post, referencing her Scream 4 character Kirby Reed and tagging her hairdresser.
Following Hayden’s post, hairstylist Leonard Zagami, who was behind her new ‘do, told E! News that the former Heroes star was “looking for a radical change” so they “just went for it”.
“It’s a modern version of a classic pixie style with a little more of an edge,” he explained. “The colour is silver, but not grey. She had previously been going with a super sexy blonde… The cut was a collaborative idea. She has wanted to go short for a while, but she has always had a commitment with her work and wasn’t able to. Right now, she is free and said, let’s do it!”
The new look comes after a troubling year for Hayden. Her real estate agent boyfriend Brian Hickerson was arrested in May after an argument between the two at Hayden’s home allegedly turned physical.
However, Hayden later insisted that her spats with Brian never turned violent.
The former Nashville star was previously engaged to boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko, the father of her five-year-old daughter, Kaya.

Milo Ventimiglia was told by movie bosses he was “too old” to play Batman.
The 42-year-old actor is best known for his television roles in Gilmore Girls, Heroes, and has landed three Emmy nominations for playing Jack Pearson on the critically-acclaimed This is Us.
However, when Ventimiglia threw his hat into the ring to play the new Batman following the departure of Ben Affleck, he was rejected by Warner Bros. studio bosses.
“Do I see myself in a cape and cowl? Warner Bros. didn’t… They were looking for a new Batman, and they said, ‘Ventimiglia, you’re too old,'” he told The Big Ticket podcast.
“It’s okay. It doesn’t matter. By the way, I’m kind of busy, it’s okay. And I’m (still) a fan. I’ve always been a fan of Batman.”
Despite losing out on the chance to play the Caped Crusader, the actor was recently nominated for a third time at this year’s Emmy Awards for his role on This Is Us.
Ventimiglia is actually four years younger than Affleck, who starred as billionaire Bruce Wayne and his crime-fighting alter-ego in two movies – 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and ensemble superhero movie Justice League in 2017. The 46-year-old was originally set to co-write, direct and star in The Batman, but he officially bowed out earlier this year.
Warner Bros. executives have instead gone with British actor Robert Pattinson, 33, after it was reported that director Matt Reeves was looking for a younger Bruce Wayne
The Batman, which is thought to be a noir tale that explores Bruce Wayne’s detective skills, is set to be released in 2021.

Milo Ventimiglia’s red carpet style is inspired by his This Is Us character, Jack Pearson.
The actor plays the father-of-three in the hit NBC drama series, opposite onscreen wife Mandy Moore, and in a new interview with Variety, revealed he has been influenced by aspects of Jack’s personality, most notably, his simple approach to his wardrobe.
“Some people take bolder approaches and want to stand out,” he said. “I like to blend in. I just like to be classy, simple, and timeless.”
For his first-ever Primetime Emmy Awards back in 2007, Milo wore a classic black Ralph Lauren tuxedo, and even styled himself.
Fast-forward to 2017, and the Gilmore Girls star planned on wearing another simple yet sophisticated Ralph Lauren navy blue tuxedo to the Emmys, as This Is Us had scored its first-ever nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
However, Milo ended up wearing a suit that was originally created for a groom.
“That actually was a custom tuxedo that was made for a guy for his wedding, but he didn’t like the black lapels,” the 41-year-old explained. “It just happened to be in my size, and I tried it on and was like, ‘This is a beautiful tuxedo. It’s not going to see a wedding, but it’s definitely going to see the red carpet.'”
And when he was nominated for a second time at the Emmys last year, the actor decided to up the stakes, and worked with stylist Ilaria Urbinati. Wearing a Brunello Cucinelli white dinner jacket and black trousers, Milo pulled off a chic and timeless red carpet look.
“I couldn’t do a full white tuxedo. That’s just not me. That actually might have been my favourite look of the last several decades because I felt really good wearing it,” he shared.
