Jamie Dornan does not prioritise grooming due to his laidback lifestyle.

The actor worked as a model until he landed his first onscreen role in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, and went on to become a Hollywood sex symbol after being cast as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades film series.

In spite of frequenting many best-dressed lists over the years, Jamie has now insisted that he takes little care of his appearance when he’s at home with his wife Amelia Warner, and daughters Dulcie, four, and Elva, two.

“We live out in the English countryside, where it’s not really about looking or smelling good,” he explained in an interview with WWD. “You sort of get up and go, really. It’s the life we’ve chosen, and we love it. I have two very small kids, and it’s the last thing in your mind in the morning – how you look and how you present yourself.”

Jamie recently made a return to the fashion industry when he was announced as the new face of Hugo Boss’ BOSS The Scent alongside Dutch model Birgit Kos.

The new advertising campaign goes live from 1 September (18), and the film star admitted he feels bolstered when wearing the iconic scent.

“It does give you a bit of a lift – it does elevate you a bit, and it’s a nice feeling,” the 36-year-old smiled. “I don’t like anything too fresh, fruity or floral usually. I just find it a bit distracting, and it makes me a bit dizzy. I prefer the earthier, woodier, leather sort of stuff.”

Jamie also added that the emotions and memories linked to a particular fragrance “never fails to blow my mind”.

Designers at Hugo Boss have marked Michael Jackson’s 60th birthday by reissuing the iconic white suit the King of Pop wore on the cover of Thriller.

The fashion house’s tailors came up with the crisp outfit in 1982, and now a limited edition run on the jacket and trousers is being made.

The look will be slightly updated – the new suit boasts a narrower silhouette and buttons on the jacket cuffs.

Only 100 of the Thriller suits are being made at a price of $1,195 (GBP919) each.

Hugo Boss has also announced the addition of white T-shirts that are modelled on the design of the original suit.

It’s not clear when the outfit will be made available to the public.

Jackson, who died in 2009, would have celebrated his 60th birthday on Wednesday (29Aug18).

The pop superstar’s kids, Prince and Paris, honoured their late father on his birthday at a special event in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.

Model and actress Paris, 20, and her filmmaker brother, 21, walked the red carpet at The Michael Jackson Diamond Celebration at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, and Prince told news show Entertainment Tonight: “Being here today is definitely an awe-inspiring feeling, because our father was the King of Pop and he did so much. He did so much for the music industry, but I think he put emphasis and importance on the charitable contributions to humanity that he really used his platform to (support).”

The event featured a special performance of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson One show.

Michael’s 60th birthday was also commemorated by his sister Janet, 52, who released her own re-imagined version of the video to his 1992 hit Remember the Time. In the video, made with internet comedy star Kwaylon Rogers, she took on the role of an Egyptian queen – a part originally played by the model Iman in the nine-minute-long original directed by John Singleton.

Anwar Hadid has been announced as the face of Hugo Boss’ brother brand, Hugo.

The teenage brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid has previously walked the runway for Hugo Boss, as well as Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren and Moschino. Having been named the face of Hugo Boss menswear’s Hugo line back in 2017, Anwar has been selected once again, and is now fronting the brand’s fall/winter 2018 campaign.

In photos shot by American artist and fashion photographer Collier Schorr, the 19-year-old is dressed in a casual black jacket with a grey printed inner layer, a red cross-body bag and black drawstring trousers, while in another image he lounges on a bed wearing a red and black branded long-sleeved T-shirt, with white underwear and matching white socks.

Anwar, who signed with IMG models at the age of 16, recently shared his gratitude for his supermodel sisters, and the important advice they’ve passed on.

“They are so inspiring to me,” he gushed in an interview with Marie Claire Australia. “They’re always giving me little tips and making sure I understand that (modelling is) a way bigger process than everyone sees. There are so many different components and so many different people that it takes to move a project forward.”

Anwar, who was recently snapped passionately kissing Kendall Jenner, was delighted to hear that a friend of the interviewer had described Bella as “one of the nicest models she’d ever worked with”.

“That’s all we could hope for,” he smiled, before addressing the public’s perception of his famous family – which includes his mother, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Yolanda Hadid. “There’s obviously so much that people can say… but we just try to be as genuine as possible. We’re all human. People forget that, I think, sometimes.”

Gigi and Bella Hadid have been “inspiring” role models to their younger brother Anwar.

The supermodel sisters have taken the industry by storm and together have worked with the world’s most prestigious labels, beauty brands and fashion magazines.

Although Anwar isn’t as established as his elder siblings, the 19-year-old is also making a name for himself in the industry, having already walked the runway for Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss. Luckily, he always has his two A-list sisters on hand to provide advice.

“They are so inspiring to me,” he gushed in an interview with Marie Claire Australia. “They’re always giving me little tips and making sure I understand that (modelling is) a way bigger process than everyone sees. There are so many different components and so many different people that it takes to move a project forward.”

We’re all human. People forget that, I think, sometimes.

“At the end of the day, no one realises that all these people they look up to, at one point, were looking up to someone else.”

Jamie Dornan has been tapped as the new face of Hugo Boss’ BOSS The Scent.

The popular fragrance is available in versions for men and women, and the Irish actor will front the latest campaign alongside Dutch model Birgit Kos, who has previously walked the runway for Fendi, Alexandre Vauthier, Versace and Roberto Cavalli.

And Jamie, who previously enjoyed a modelling career after appearing on British television show Model Behaviour in 2001, was honoured to embody the brand’s classic ethos.

“For me, Boss represents sophistication, masculinity and elegance,” he said in a statement released to WWD.

Of the collaboration, Birgit, 22, added: “Working with Jamie was great. I could not have asked for a better person to work with.”

The Fifty Shades of Grey star has partnered with Hugo Boss in the past, having showcased the label’s ready-to-wear garments and underwear from 2006 to 2008. He also appeared in the German brand’s fall/winter 2011 campaign.

Other luxury collaborations include Aquascutum, Armani, Dior and Calvin Klein, while the actor has been lucky enough to pose with fashion icons including Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, as well as actress Eva Mendes.

Though Jamie is pleased to announce his latest venture with Hugo Boss, acting remains his priority and later this year (18) he can be seen in movies including Otto Bathurst’s Robin Hood and Matthew Heineman’s A Private War. The 36-year-old even previously admitted that he never believed modelling was his calling.

“I’ve never felt massively satisfied from standing there while someone takes my photograph,” he told The Evening Standard in 2014. “It’s never given me a thrill, but it would take a very foolish man to turn down the stuff that was offered to me.”

Hugo Boss revamps Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller suit

Hugo Boss is releasing a revamped version of the white suit Michael Jackson wore on the cover of his Thriller album.

The record, released in 1982, remains the world’s best-selling album of all time, and is famous for tracks Thriller, Billie Jean and Beat It, among others.

The cover artwork is just as iconic as the music, and features a young Michael, who was 24 at the time, reclining on the floor in the white suit layered over a black zipped jacket, with a baby tiger resting on one of his knees.

Now, German label Hugo Boss will be issuing 100 suits, each one numbered, as well as three unisex T-shirts, each featuring a significant moment in the late King of Pop’s career.

As well as the clothes, the luxury brand, along with Sony, has sponsored an exhibition at London’s National Portrait Gallery marking what would have been the singer’s 60th birthday.

Michael, whose father Joe Jackson passed away on Wednesday (27Jun18), died at the age of 50 in 2009 of an accidental overdose of drugs propofol and benzodiazepine.

“When the National Portrait Gallery told us that this artwork was included, it was a no-brainer for us to work with them because, on the cover (of the Thriller album), Michael is wearing the iconic Hugo Boss white suit,” said Hjordis Kettenbach, head of global communications at Hugo Boss, according to WWD. “It’s amazing to have this connection to him.”

Michael Jackson: On the Wall runs from 28 June to 21 October, before moving to Paris.

Adrien Brody, Mark Ronson and Brooklyn Beckham were among the guests at the exhibit’s opening earlier this week.

Salma Hayek loved being able to abandon Hollywood’s usual beauty standards when she starred in Beatriz at Dinner.

The actress played a dowdy holistic medicine practitioner who attends a wealthy client’s dinner party in the movie. Though the character’s plain look was a far cry from the stunning red carpet style Salma is used to, she shared her joy at being able to strip it back in order to portray the character.

“One of the great adventures I had in this movie was the possibility of being completely free from the pressure of being beautiful or looking good or dressing well,” she said in an interview with W magazine. “I don’t really put a lot of make-up (on) in my everyday life. So, that part was not so much. It was the bad clothes. It was the bad hair. I was excited.”

The 51-year-old, who revealed she was ill for the most part while shooting the movie, described the filming experience as a “great gift.”

“Although I do have to say, they did light me very badly on purpose,” she added.

The Frida star also shared her initial experience of the red carpet and recalled the unusual attire that was picked out for her when she attended an A-list bash for the first time.

“When I first started out, I had no money for big dresses, and no connections, except with Hugo Boss,” she explained. “And so, they gave me a suit, so I went dressed up like a man. It was actually quite interesting. I looked good.”

Salma has been nominated as Best Female Lead for her role as Beatriz at the Independent Spirit Awards. The Oscar nominee is currently working on comedy movie Drunk Parents alongside Alec Baldwin, which is due for release later this year.

Jason Wu is departing Hugo Boss after a five-year stint at the brand.

The New York-based fashion designer was appointed as the artistic director at the label in 2013 and oversaw the entire womenswear ranges.

However, he confirmed on Tuesday (13Feb18) that he would be exiting his role at the German fashion house.

“I feel like by today’s standards (five years) is a very long time, which I’m very, very proud of,” he said in a statement. “It’s public knowledge that about a year and a half ago there was a management change at Hugo Boss. I’ve really stayed on to help the brand with the transition of its next stage.”

Wu emphasised that he was particularly pleased “to have helped the brand get more notoriety” in terms of womenswear but also recognised that it was time for him to focus all his efforts on his own ready-to-wear label, which he launched 10 years ago.

“Through Hugo Boss, I’ve just been able to learn so much about the inner workings of a mega international brand. There is a lot of knowledge that I will take with me to the next phase of my career in my own company,” the 35-year-old pledged. “I’ve learned things I never had experience in until I entered Hugo Boss. To look at everything in every category of products and to (see) how to take a seasonal message and have that translate at retail has been kind of amazing.”

Wu’s final collaboration with Hugo Boss will be unveiled later on Tuesday during the Gallery Collection presentation at Cedar Lake as part of New York Fashion Week.

In response to Wu’s exit, Hugo Boss chief brand officer Ingo Wilts has thanked the designer for his “incredible” creative input and inspiration.

“I feel certain that he will approach all his future projects with the same compelling passion and zest that he brought to Hugo Boss – and for which we are highly indebted to him at that time,” he added.

Martha Hunt has been named as the face of contemporary women’s brand Ramy Brook.

The American model has previously fronted campaigns for Hugo Boss, Y-3, Max & Co., as well as Albion Cosmetics, and walked the runway for the likes of Balmain, Chanel, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret.

For her latest gig, Hunt has been tapped as the face of Ramy Brook, founded by designer Ramy Brook Sharp in 2010. She will appear in the label’s first national advertising campaign, photographed by Sebastian Faena at Pier 59 in New York, which is expected to drop around 14 February (18).

“Brand awareness is something we’re working on,” Cory Cole, head of marketing at Ramy Brook, told WWD of the advertising push. “It’s the first step to a bigger programme for the year.”

Cole added that the company is looking to raise its profile and blonde star Hunt was a natural fit. The Free People spokesmodel is also channelling her efforts into a collaborative capsule collection with Sharp, which will launch exclusively at Bloomingdale’s in March (18).

“She’ll get behind it in a big way,” Cole said, mentioning that Hunt is directly involved in the design process and will be making personal appearances to promote the line.

Ramy Brook has a loyal following among celebrities like Cindy Crawford, Julianna Marguiles, Kate Beckinsale, Alyssa Milano and Constance Zimmer, and is currently available to purchase from high-end retailers worldwide, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales, as well as the flagship Ramy Brook boutique in Soho, New York.

“My vision is for women who wear Ramy Brook to feel beautiful and exude confidence, knowing they are sexy, wearing something special, and looking their absolute best,” the designer previously shared of her inspiration for the brand.
