Karlie Kloss has opened up about her political views after a Project Runway contestant joked about her in-laws.

The model and TV host was left stunned when Tyler Neasloney commented on her links to the White House during an episode of the fashion challenge show earlier this month.

Kloss wed American businessman Joshua Kushner in 2018, who is the brother of Jared Kushner, currently employed as U.S. President Donald Trump’s senior adviser. Jared is also married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

When told by co-host and judge Brandon Maxwell that the model would never wear his creation to any event, budding designer Neasloney fired: “Not even to dinner with the Kushners?”

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, Kloss was asked by host Andy Cohen about her political views, considering her connections to the controversial Republican politician.

“Andy, I’m sure I’m not the only person in this country who does not necessarily agree with their family on politics,” she quipped, prompting fellow guest Martha Stewart to add, “Good answer.”

“I voted as a Democrat in 2016 and I plan to do the same in 2020,” Kloss stated.

She later shared her disappointment that Project Runway contestant Neasloney was garnering attention for his joke about the Kushners, and not his “terrible” design.

“Honestly, the real tragedy of this whole thing is that no one is talking about how terrible that dress was. That’s why he went home. I would not wear that dress to any dinner,” the 27-year-old laughed.

Karlie Kloss was left stunned by a Project Runway contestant’s comment about her husband’s family.

The 27-year-old model, who serves as host and executive producer on the TV series, wed Joshua Kushner in October 2018 after dating for six years. The businessman and investor is the brother of Jared Kushner, who is currently employed by the White House as U.S. President Donald Trump’s senior adviser and is also married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

Karlie has tried to avoid talking about her links to the controversial politician, but during the latest episode of Project Runway, contestant Tyler Neasloney called the model out.

The challenge was to make a dress that Karlie could wear in Paris using recycled material, but his gown was not well received by the model or fashion designer Brandon Maxwell.

“It’s definitely ‘wearable’ in someplace that is neither Paris nor Montauk or Martha’s Vineyard,” Brandon, a judge, told the contestant. “I cannot see Karlie wearing it anywhere, honestly.”

“Not even to dinner with the Kushners?” Tyler fired back, before adding, “That’s your husband.”

Karlie’s mouth dropped and head snapped back in reaction to the comment, though she didn’t appear angry and swiftly turned the conversation back to Tyler’s design.

“I was going to Paris, that was your challenge here. Keep it to the challenge,” she said, before adding, “This (design) is not what I asked for. The fabrics are poor choices. I think they look cheap. The pockets are ill-placed… You really missed the mark here on all accounts.”

Tyler was ultimately sent home from Project Runway after leaving the judges unimpressed with his recycled gown, and he later apologised for the remark.

“Karlie, I want you to know that I’m not a jerk, I’m professional,” he said during his exit interview.

Fashion designer Misha Nonoo created her own wedding dress.

The U.S.-based designer, who is best known for her eponymous line of women’s ready-to-wear clothing and her friendship with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, tied the knot with oil heir Mikey Hess at Villa Aurelia in Rome, Italy on Friday.

When it came to selecting what to wear for her big day, Nonoo admitted to People that it was difficult making a gown for herself.

“It was really hard,” she said. “When I’m designing a piece, I’m usually thinking about every woman. It has to tick a lot of boxes. When you’re thinking about designing something that you’re going to wear for one day and you have to really only think about yourself, it’s different.

“Obviously, you want your husband to think you look beautiful and you want your respective families to as well, but otherwise you can do whatever you want – you can have short sleeves, long sleeves, high neck, low neck, open back, no back. It makes it much more challenging.”

However, in the end, Nonoo decided the best solution was to have two dresses.

“I like to design with a set of parameters. (It took some time) for me to come to what it was going to be in the end. I had some ideas initially. I knew I wanted it to be traditional. So, I’ve opted for two dresses, so I can tick both boxes!” the fashion star added.

Paparazzi photos showed Nonoo wearing a simple white dress as she arrived at the venue, while a delicate ivory grown with embellished floral details was seen being carried into the villa. No official photographs of the dresses have been released.

Nonoo and Hess exchanged vows in front of a star-studded crowd including Meghan and Prince Harry, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, and James Corden.

Karlie Kloss has married her long-time beau Joshua Kushner in an “intimate” ceremony.

The supermodel has been dating the businessman and investor since 2012, with the couple getting engaged in July (18). However, after just a three-month engagement, Karlie took to her Instagram page on Thursday to confirm that she had wed Joshua.

Alongside a photo showing her in a white lace wedding dress and Joshua sporting a classic black tuxedo, she wrote, “10.18. 2018.”

Neither Karlie nor Joshua have shared further details of their big day, though editors at People.com have reported that the couple had a Jewish ceremony in Upstate New York, with the model having converted to her husband’s faith earlier in the year. There were about 80 people in attendance.

“The wedding was intimate and moving,” a friend told the outlet. “The couple was beaming with happiness.”

According to People, Karlie’s elegant wedding gown with delicate V-neckline and matching veil was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri for Christian Dior. The Italian designer has not yet commented on her custom creation.

It is unclear who attended the nuptials, though Joshua’s brother Jared Kushner and his wife, U.S. First Daughter Ivanka Trump, were seen in New York earlier on Thursday. But Karlie’s good pal Taylor Swift would likely have missed the event as she has a concert in Perth, Australia on Friday night.

The newlyweds are also apparently planning to host a larger celebration for friends and more family members early next year.

Even though new Project Runway host Karlie and Joshua are notoriously private, she did open up about her relationship shortly after announcing her engagement.

“The proposal was romantic and sweet. We spent the weekend in upstate New York, just the two of us,” she shared in a recent interview for Vogue.com. “We’ve really grown together personally and professionally. Josh knows that I’m just a nerdy, curious human being. I think that’s why he loves me. We have each other’s back.”
