Jennifer Lopez road-tested designs from her debut footwear collection at an Oscars after-party.

Last month, the actress/singer announced her collaboration with executives at Designer Brands and has since launched a 32-piece line.

The collection, priced from $59 to $189 (£45-£145), features quilted trainers, neon heels, and chic wedges, and is available to purchase from DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse stores in North America and online.

And before revealing her exciting news to her fans, Jennifer had already worn several styles from the JLO JENNIFER LOPEZ range on the red carpet.

The 50-year-old told WWD that she sported a pair of her own heels to the Critics’ Choice Awards back in January, which she paired with a bejewelled Georges Hobeika gown.

And for an Oscars after-party with fiance Alex Rodriguez, she teamed her sequinned dress with a silver pair of her Malika high heels.

“Let me tell you, I wore the very high ones, silver. It’s on my Instagram Stories, in highlights,” Jennifer shared. “They were beautiful. I’ve worn a lot of shoes (in my life) and not all of them are as comfortable, but these really were. And I danced in them all night.”

The Jenny from the Block hitmaker also wears the white Alyona platform sneaker on her days off with her two children, Max and Emme.

“They’re super comfy, they’re quilted and they almost have a Chanel-like quality in my mind. They look like a Chanel bag, or something,” she added.

Katie Holmes purchased her headline-grabbing cashmere bra because she wanted to feel “sexy”.

The Dawson’s Creek actress courted a lot of media attention back in August when she stepped out in New York City wearing a Khaite cardigan and matching bra.

Pictures of Katie in the casual look went all over the Internet, but in an interview for the April 2020 issue of U.S. InStyle magazine, she explained that she simply decided to wear the outfit because she thought it would give her a confidence boost.

“Honestly, I wasn’t feeling so sexy. And I saw that and was like, ‘Sexy. I can do that!’ I thought it would be good if I was in a cabin sitting by the fire and wore the (matching) sweater over it. That’s how my brain works,” she said of purchasing the ensemble. “But then I was like, ‘Oh, wait, I’m not in a cabin, and I’m not going to a cabin.’ I still thought I could pull it off, though. I had noticed other people wearing bras with blazers.”

Katie chose to leave the cardigan mostly unbuttoned and styled in an off-the-shoulder manner. But The Secret: Dare to Dream star insisted she hadn’t planned for the look to be so provocative.

“I didn’t want to get into trouble with my (daughter, Suri). We were school shopping, and I was just trying to hail a cab on Sixth Avenue. It looked way more glamorous than it was,” the 40-year-old laughed.

Elsewhere in the chat, Katie noted that she also wore a minimalist Khaite design to the American Australian Association Arts Awards in January. Yet, the mother-of-one is open to wearing a little more sparkle too.

“I’m not going to lie, I thought J.Lo’s costumes during the (Super Bowl) Halftime Show were absolutely incredible. I watched her (Instagram) story where they were putting on all the Swarovski crystals,” she smiled.

Jennifer Lopez was ‘a little sad’ about Oscars snub

Jennifer Lopez was left “a little sad” when she didn’t receive an Oscar nomination for her role in Hustlers.

The star was hotly tipped for awards success for her acclaimed role as stripper Ramona in the 2019 box office hit, also starring Cardi B, Constance Wu, and Lizzo, but she failed to bag a nomination on the Oscars shortlist.

During Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 Vision Tour on Saturday in Los Angeles, the 50-year-old confessed she got caught up in the speculation that she would be attending the ceremony for the first time as a nominee so felt let down when her name wasn’t read out in the Best Supporting Actress category.

“I was sad, I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it. There were so many articles, I got so many good notices – more than ever in my career – and there was a lot of, ‘She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar, it’s going to happen, if it doesn’t you’re crazy,'” Lopez said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I’m reading all the articles going, ‘Oh my God, could this happen?’ And then it didn’t and I was like ‘Ouch,’ it was a little bit of a letdown,” the mother-of-two candidly shared, before adding that she also felt she had let her team down by failing to nab an Oscar nomination.

“I think they had a lot of hopes on that and they wanted it too, so I felt like I let everyone down a little bit,” Lopez sadly stated.

Despite the snub, the On The Floor hitmaker soon realised there was more to life than accolades after looking at all the accomplishments she had achieved over the past 12 months, including her performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Shakira.

“You want people’s validation, you want people to say you did a good job,” she shared. “And I realised, ‘No, you don’t need that, you do this because you love it… I don’t need this award right here to tell me that I am enough.'”

Kerry Washington felt “empowered” in the racy ensemble she wore to the Golden Globes last month.

The Scandal star stepped out onto the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton hotel wearing a daring black Altuzarra ensemble which was comprised of a skirt with a thigh-high slit and a blazer with nothing underneath except for a bejewelled harness.

In a cover interview with U.S. InStyle magazine, Kerry explained that the outfit made her feel sexy and empowered that the same time.

“It was both really sexual and sensual but also extremely empowered and boundaried,” she said. “My favourite compliment was when this woman came up to me and said that she loved it because it was ‘so sexy’ but it also implied that ‘you can look but you can’t touch.'”

The 43-year-old also received praise from her fellow celebrities during the evening, although Isla Fisher was concerned she was going to expose herself.

“Isla Fisher was at a table with J.Lo, and Isla was like, ‘I’m so stressed out. I just feel like Kerry’s jacket is going to fly open, and it’s going to be a disaster,'” Kerry recalled. “Jennifer Lopez, who is the queen of Topstick (tape), just turned to her and said, ‘She’s fine!’ Jennifer and I are from the same neighbourhood in The Bronx, so she’s always looked out for me.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the actress, who is an ambassador and creative consultant for skincare brand Neutrogena, explained that she keeps in shape by doing exercises such as Pilates and yoga, while she and her children are big fans of swimming too.

“My husband teased me that if I did the (DNA test) 23andMe, it would come back 11 per cent mermaid. My kids are the same way. They’re just fish,” she joked.

Kerry and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha, who have been married since 2013, are parents to Isabelle, five, and Caleb, three.

Shakira and Jennifer Lopez pulled out all of the stops for the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday night.

The superstars took to the stage for a 15-minute performance partway through the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

While the Halftime Show featured guest appearances by J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Jennifer’s 11-year-old daughter Emme Muniz, just as much attention was placed on the numerous costume changes made by the co-headliners.

Shakira kicked off the extravaganza with a rendition of her song She Wolf in a red minidress covered in Swarovski crystals and matching boots from fashion designer Peter Dundas, though she later ripped off part of her skirt to showcase her abs as she launched into her 2001 hit Whenever, Wherever.

Following the 43-year-old’s set, Jennifer made a splash by singing Jenny from the Block while wearing a studded black leather catsuit from Versace.

She later sported a nude-illusion bodysuit featuring metallic accents to demonstrate the pole dancing skills she mastered for her movie Hustlers on the stage, with a representative from the Italian label noting that the garment took over 700 hours to complete.

Meanwhile, Jennifer, 50, changed into a silver-toned bodysuit with metallic fringe for her performance of Let’s Get Loud, but also gave a nod to her heritage by draping a banner made of feathers decorated to resemble the U.S. and Puerto Rican flags over her shoulders.

For the final part of the spectacle, Shakira opted for a two-piece gold ensemble and matching gold sneakers, with the duo embracing in a big hug at the conclusion as fireworks were set off in the background.

“THANK YOU #TeamDundas for an incredible job. Big applause to @JLo @DonatellaVersace and stylists @RobZanargi and @marielhaenn (Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn). That was epic!!” wrote Peter alongside a slideshow of snaps from the concert.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers during the game.

Jennifer Lopez and Michael B. Jordan have been tapped to front Coach’s new sneaker campaign.

The Hollywood stars, who both serve as brand ambassadors for the New York-based fashion and accessories company, are now headlining the marketing imagery for the Coach CitySole line.

Shot by photographer Juergen Teller, the campaign features Jennifer and Michael showcasing the footwear designs, with the Big Apple as the backdrop.

“When you grow up in New York, sneakers are such a big part of your lifestyle because you have to pound the pavement,” the 50-year-old shared. “Coach CitySole is perfect for my lifestyle – I’m a dancer, and I’m always on the go and they’re very versatile. They can be dressed up and dressed down, and can be functional but also super fashionable.”

The range offers three sneaker styles, with the CitySole Court referencing classic basketball sneakers with a triangular toe box, the CitySole Runner drawing from the silhouettes of running shoes, and the CitySole Lowline, which is an updated take on a classic low-top.

Accordingly, Michael can’t wait to add the new designs to his collection.

“Sneakers are a wardrobe staple,” the Black Panther actor insisted. “As someone who grew up around New York and is constantly on the go, Coach CitySole’s blend of fashion and comfort is the right balance for an everyday sneaker-wearer like me.”

Coach’s CitySole sneakers are now available to purchase.

Donatella Versace was thrilled to outfit Jennifer Lopez for the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday night.

The Jenny from the Block hitmaker and fellow superstar Shakira took to the stage for a 15-minute performance partway through the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

But for fashion fans, the night was less about the National Football League (NFL) contest and more about the costumes, with the 50-year-old entertainer wearing a series of Versace ensembles, including a studded black leather catsuit, a nude-illusion bodysuit, as well as a silver-toned bodysuit with metallic fringe.

“SUPER BOWL Half-time Show. When Jennifer hits the stage….!! Speechless!!” Donatella captioned a slideshow of images on Instagram. “WOOWW!! What a show!! Two incredibly talented women on stage tonight… Bravissime (congratulations) Shakira and Jennifer!! So exciting!”

Meanwhile, Donatella’s team also created a banner made of feathers that resembled the U.S. and Puerto Rican flags for Jennifer’s performance of Let’s Get Loud alongside her 11-year-old daughter Emme Muniz. All feathers were sourced ethically.

“Such an iconic moment last night, Jennifer and Emme on stage together! So beautiful and strong!!” the Italian designer wrote alongside a snap of the pair.

Meanwhile, Norwegian fashion star Peter Dundas was tasked with crafting Shakira’s costumes for the bash, coming up with a red minidress covered in Swarovski crystals and matching boots, as well as a two-piece gold ensemble and matching gold sneakers.

“THANK YOU #TeamDundas for an incredible job. Big applause to @JLo @DonatellaVersace and stylists @RobZanargi and @marielhaenn (Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn). That was epic!!” he wrote alongside a slideshow of snaps.

Carey Mulligan has called for an overhaul of the Oscars voting system as she believes it’s “not working”.

The British actress discussed the all-male Best Director nominees at the upcoming Academy Awards during an interview at the Variety Studio at the Sundance Film Festival.

Sharing her disappointment at the lack of acknowledgement for female-directed films such as Little Women, Hustlers and The Farewell, Mulligan said the voting system is “not working” and suggested that every member of the Academy should have to prove they have seen “every single” eligible film.

“I don’t think you can watch those films and not think they deserve recognition,” the 34-year-old explained. “I think they need to be watched. I wonder if the system works in terms of getting sent 100 screeners. Maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to vote unless you can prove you’ve seen every single one. There should be a test. The films that did get left out are indisputably brilliant.”

Mulligan told reporters that while it was positive the movies were getting made by female directors, it was only “baby steps” and more action needed to be taken to get women recognised for their achievements.

“People simply aren’t seeing these films because I think if they did they would be moved to vote for them. The system doesn’t work. For a film like Hustlers and a performance like Jennifer Lopez’s, (if it) can’t get recognised then something’s not working,” she said, noting the star’s surprising snub from the Best Supporting Actress category.

“And Greta Gerwig, again producing an incredible film and not getting recognition as a director, there’s just something that needs fixing but I’m not the smart person to fix it,” the Oscar-nominated actress concluded.

Jennifer Lopez poses in a sweater featuring Barbra Streisand’s face in her new Coach campaign.

The superstar was named as the new global brand ambassador for the New York-based company in November, and on Tuesday, the images from her debut photoshoot promoting the spring/summer 2020 line were released.

Lensed by Juergen Teller, one snap shows Jennifer posing in the “Babs” sweatshirt, which is emblazoned with an illustration of the Funny Girl star by Richard Bernstein that was originally included in a 1969 issue of Interview magazine.

“Soakin’ up that NYC energy!!! Loved shooting in my hometown for my first campaign with @Coach. New York is always an inspiring city-encouraging us to do our own thing and be an original!” the 50-year-old captioned the snap on her Instagram page.

However, the picture soon captured the attention of Barbra, who reposted the happy photo and wrote, “Love this! Hi @jlo – nice to see you wearing my face!”

A short time later, Jennifer responded with “You know you’re my idol!” along with a heart emoji.

Elsewhere in the campaign, the Hustlers actress poses in a red leather jacket with blue silk shirt and an emerald green dress.

And speaking about her advertisements, Jennifer explained that she thoroughly enjoyed shooting with Juergen and Coach creative director Stuart Vevers in the Big Apple.

“In all it creates, Coach promotes individuality and optimism in its style as well as a sense of authenticity and inclusion. Like me, we’re both New York originals, who create a unique mix of high-fashion with street edge,” she added.
