Arnold Schwarzenegger sustained a nasty wrist injury while shooting 1990 movie Total Recall.

In the sci-fi action movie, directed by Paul Verhoeven, the actor played construction worker Douglas Quaid, who finds himself embroiled in espionage on Mars, and must determine if his experiences are real or from memory implants by mysterious company Rekall.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Total Recall’s release, Schwarzenegger reflected on his time filming the movie, which was one of the most expensive films ever made at the time, and revealed he was left nursing an injury after filming the scene in which his character flees from a group of hitmen in a subway station and crashes through the window of a departing train with a gun.

“They did not explode the window before I hit the window with the gun, so therefore I cut my wrist deep,” he told Yahoo. “And I had to get stitched up during lunch break, which was at like midnight, because we were night shooting.”

The actor quickly received medical attention and managed to hide the wound as he shot the rest of the scene.

“After I was stitched up and everything, we hid the bandages, we pulled the jacket all the way to the front and taped it up so we don’t see the bandages,” he quipped.

Total Recall was remade in 2012, with Colin Farrell as Quaid alongside Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, and Bryan Cranston.

Jessica Biel surprised husband Justin Timberlake when she wore his *NSYNC jumpsuit from 1999 for Halloween.

The SexyBack hitmaker came up with the idea for his actress wife to dress up as him, along with some friends, to recreate the ’90s boyband for a party.

However, Jessica remembered that they had the jumpsuit Justin had worn to the 1999 American Music Awards, when he was part of *NSYNC, in storage and she decided to wear that instead to bowl over her husband.

“I surprised Justin because I remembered that we have that exact jumpsuit that he wore in storage,” the star told James Corden on The Late Late Show. “So we pulled it out and it was the real one. It’s for real. It’s the real jumpsuit.”

However, disaster almost struck when the busy actress missed her flight home to Los Angeles on the spooky holiday itself and thought she had lost the chance to dress up as her teen idol husband.

“I was working in New York so I literally was flying back on Halloween night. I had missed my flight. The whole crew of all our friends being the (*NSYNC) band members were waiting on me to get there and I was late,” Jessica recalled. “So my friends threw my outfit in the car. I went from the airport. I changed in the car.”

The mother-of-one donned the metallic blue jumpsuit and completed the look with a blonde permed wig and tinted blue sunglasses, while Justin dressed up as a huge microphone.

“It was the hugest costume,” she said of her husband’s outfit. “It was so funny. He could barely move all night. It was this huge thing on his head. It was really fun, actually.”

Justin Timberlake ‘mixed things up’ for third Levi’s collection

Justin Timberlake wanted to “mix things up” when working on his third collaboration with Levi’s.

The Man of the Woods hitmaker celebrated his latest partnership with the iconic denim brand as he unveiled his 12-piece Levi’s x Justin Timberlake fall/winter 2019 Fresh Leaves collection at a bash in the Hollywood Hills on Tuesday.

The line features hooded shirts, plaid trucker jackets, canvas cargo pants, a reversible vest, and an orange camouflage worker shirt, with items priced from $78 – $380 (£61- £297).

And Timberlake was keen to keep the traditional designs of the California-based brand present in his line.

“When you work with such an institution like Levi’s, you don’t want them to be anything but Levi’s,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “And so, it’s just a little bit of a swerve here and there on fit or cut or wash or texture and that’s it.

“For the first two seasons, we created a bit of a left-of-centre aesthetic and we just want to continue to play up on that… I like to mix things up, always.”

The singer and actor also wanted to focus on versatility, and several pieces in the Fresh Leaves range are reversible.

“I get to travel to a lot of different places and I think the biggest part of it, to be honest, is to create something that you feel could be worn in Paris, could be worn in New York, could be worn In Stockholm, could be worn in L.A. and could be worn in Memphis, Tennessee,” the 38-year-old shared.

Elsewhere in the interview, Timberlake revealed that his and wife Jessica Biel’s four-year-old son Silas will be in charge of the family’s Halloween costumes this year.

“He gets to choose, so everything we’ve ever worn is his choice… He was Lego Batman last year. So, listen, I wouldn’t be surprised if he chose that again!” he laughed.

Louis Vuitton took inspiration from the Belle Epoque era for its spring/summer 2020 collection.

Creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere closed Paris Fashion Week by presenting his latest collection in the courtyard of the Louvre in front of celebrities including Alicia Vikander, Chloe Grace Moretz, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, who watched the models walk down the minimalist runway while a large video screen played Scottish musician Sophie singing her 2017 song It’s Okay to Cry.

Ghesquiere took inspiration from the past for his collection, particularly Belle Epoque-era Paris, with him explaining in the show notes, “It’s a part of French history that’s very interesting in art, as well as culturally, in terms of emancipation of women, and, of course, in literature with Proust.”

He also added that he wanted to explore “dandyism, and those particular snobberies that would later become what is known as French elegance.”

The period, which is conventionally dated between 1871 and the outbreak of World War I in 1914, also marks the time when the French fashion house, which was founded in 1854, was on the rise thanks to the popularity of their monogrammed trunks among elite travellers.

There were many nods to the past in the collection, with puff sleeves on shirts, iris boutonnieres, high-waisted and wide-legged trousers, silk blouses, block-heeled loafers and moccasins. There were also a number of Art Nouveau touches, with eye-catching designs on dresses and miniskirts, as well as prints reminiscent of the ’70s.

The show opened with model Mariam De Vinzelle wearing black high-waisted trousers with a checked blouse and a multicoloured sweater vest. The dandy looks continued with more trousers, fitted waistcoats and tailored blazers all in different clashing prints.

The collection was clearly a hit with the crowd as Ghesquiere received a standing ovation when he came out for his final bow.

Jessica Biel has shared a no make-up selfie to support Kate Upton’s new self-love campaign.

The model/actress recently launched the social media campaign, dubbed #ShareStrong, with the aim of encouraging women to discuss how they find strength when faced with difficult situations.

Within hours of Upton unveiling the initiative, Biel, 37, took to Instagram and shared a beautiful, natural selfie with no filters.

“Spreading some self-love today with zero filters and zero make-up for my girl @KateUpton,” the mother-of-one wrote. “She’s on a mission to encourage everyone to feel strong and love themselves *as they are*… and I’m so honoured to help spread that message.”

Biel’s husband Justin Timberlake later commented on her post, and sweetly wrote: “I like you better with no make-up on.”

Regarding the inspiration behind the campaign, Upton explained that she wanted to help women “empower one another, and radiate positivity”.

“I want to open the conversation and give all people a platform to talk about all the struggles and strengths we experience,” she added.

And in a post on Twitter, the 27-year-old shared her own #ShareStrong moment and revealed her nine-month-old daughter Genevieve is her motivation in life.

“I’m strong for my daughter,” Upton wrote. “I realise that starts with me. Now I encourage you to join the conversation and share why you’re strong. #ShareStrong.”

Behati Prinsloo also showed support for her fellow model and posted a rare photo showing her with her two daughters, Dusty, two, and Gio, 17 months.

“Here’s to the sleepless nights, bleeding nipples, crying, laughing, the highest of highs and lowest of lows and everything in between. I won’t change a single thing. Being a mom to Dusty and Gio keeps me strong, motivated and empowered. This is my #sharestrong thanks @kateupton for starting this,” the 31-year-old gushed.

Jessica Biel wishes she had been more creative on the red carpet early on in her career, instead of opting for sexy looks all the time.

The actress shot to fame as a teenager in the 1990s thanks to her role on hit TV show 7th Heaven and when she started attending hot Hollywood events in her late teens and early 20s, she consistently chose to wear revealing outfits – style choices she now regrets.

“I wish I would’ve explored some different shapes, and not gone so sexy all the time,” Jessica told fellow screen star Ellie Bamber in a new interview for InStyle. “I think if you look at some of my earlier choices, maybe it didn’t need to always be about the body. I know it’s a vibe that you feel when you’re young, but still that’s what I would’ve done a little differently.”

Sporty Jessica, who once trained to be a gymnast, was more into athletics than fashion at the time and it took her many years for her personal style to finally click.

“It took me a minute to get into those types of womanly things, like bags and shoes, but in my early 20s a lightbulb went off and I was like, ‘Oh, I get it now’,” she recalled, noting her first designer splurge was a black leather Marc Jacobs bag.

After struggling early on with style decisions, Jessica now has a good time selecting outfits, as she feels more confident in putting an ensemble together to match her mood.

“For me, fashion is fun because you can be one thing one moment, and something completely different another moment,” she shared. “I just try to find a balance. Some things that are super fashion don’t make a lot of sense on the red carpet. My off-duty look is usually just jean on jean with a pair of high-tops.”

Nicholas Kirkwood took three years to design his first pump heel

Nicholas Kirkwood didn’t design a pump shoe for three years when he first launched his brand.

The London-based fashion star is best known for his footwear, founding his eponymous label in 2005 and becoming the go-to designer for red carpet shoes, with his fans including Jessica Biel, Diane Kruger, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

While Kirkwood trained in design and shoemaking, he has now shared in an interview with The Talks that he was “quite naive” when he set up his company and didn’t get around to making some footwear basics for a long time.

“I didn’t go work for another shoe designer, so I never really understood how the shoe industry works or how you’re meant to develop a collection. In that aspect I was very green but honestly, I think that was kind of an advantage,” he reflected. “It meant I didn’t have to follow the rules. I didn’t design a pump for, like, three years. I had no idea about range planning at all, or carry-overs. I just thought you have to do a banging collection every season!”

Kirkwood is now well known for pushing the boundaries of shoe design, with his creations expertly marrying architectural craftsmanship and tradition.

His leather Beja mules and Lola ballet-inspired pumps with pearl detailing on the heels remain very popular, and he explained that computer technology has really opened up design possibilities for him.

“I love that kind of blend between something that needs to be handcrafted, needs to be done in the most exquisite way, with something that can be done better with technology – I’m really up for that! But you know, I’m very nerdy and love technology,” the 38-year-old said.

In addition, Kirkwood spoke about how he is embracing 3D technology and other modes of design. But he confessed that not every experiment is a success.

“I mean, failed designs happen most seasons! If you’re trying to be innovative you have to accept that there’s going to be a certain amount of failure, otherwise you’re not pushing it enough,” he added.

Jessica Alba and Mike Epps have topped a new list of the worst reviewed movies.

The pair has appeared in more movie stinkers in the past 20 years than anyone else in Hollywood, according to a new GoCompare website report.

Alba’s films have routinely been hammered by the critics, giving her the edge over Epps, and she comes in just ahead of Jessica Biel among all actresses, with only one positively reviewed film from the 35 she has made in the past two decades – 2005’s Sin City.

Ironically, both actresses starred in the ensemble film Valentine’s Day, which was savaged by critics.

Boogie Nights and The Hangover star Heather Graham comes in third and Radha Mitchell and Oscar winner Kathy Bates round out the top five among women, while The Usual Suspects star Kevin Pollak, the Transformers movies’ Josh Duhamel, Robin Williams, and Gerard Butler also feature in the actors top five.

Alba will be hoping a return to the small screen will boost her flagging favour after signing on to join fellow new mum Gabrielle Union in new police drama LA’s Finest. She last appeared on TV in Dark Angel, which ran for two seasons at the beginning of the century.

And Bates and Butler share a movie flop – they both appeared in P.S. I Love You.

On the other end of the scale, Carey Mulligan beat out fellow Brit Sally Hawkins for the best collected film reviews and Adam Driver beat Leonardo DiCaprio to the top of the actors’ list.

Justin Timberlake has dropped a brand-new collection in partnership with Levi’s.

The SexyBack singer teamed up with the denim brand last year (17) to customise a one-off trucker jacket – which he now describes as his “good luck jacket” – and has now designed an array of jackets, hoodies and shirts in a collection named Fresh Leaves.

The line’s laid-back aesthetic matches that of Justin’s latest album, Man of the Woods, and though the star has worked with other fashion brands in the past, he admitted that working with the team at Levi’s was a particularly special experience.

“I feel like it’s the first time I’m getting to use all my creativity, and I can collaborate with them, have it come to fruition and have it very well made. Not to talk bad about the past, but I’m excited to partner with a brand that has that higher quality,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “The people there know what they’re doing. It’s an icon for a reason.”

Items in the collection include plaid work shirts, camo-print trucker jackets and even a new jean fit – the 501 Slim Taper – which is available in four washes.

Prices range from $98 – $148 (£75 – £113) and all garments will be available to purchase from Nordstrom stores on 4 October.

Describing the collection as a “fresh take on classics,” he hopes the selection will appeal to his three-year-old son Silas – whom he shares with wife Jessica Biel – when he’s a bit older.

“It’s the ultimate hand me down,” the 37-year-old smiled, adding that future collaborations with Levi’s are a distinct possibility. “It’s just the beginning of where we are going to go with this.”

Jessica Biel has unveiled her debut activewear collection.

The Sinner actress confirmed last September (17) that she had partnered with executives at fitness brand Gaiam and would be curating her own capsule range.

One year later, Jessica has finally launched her line, and has explained that she was dedicated to creating attainable, comfortable pieces inspired by runway fashion.

“This is a really authentic partnership for me, yoga and wellness are a huge part of my personal life and have been for a long time,” she said in a statement. “I wanted something that women could feel good in whether they are doing yoga, working out or just running errands, playing with their kids or simply lounging. The idea was to create something versatile that blends fashion elements with comfort and functionality and that is accessible for every lifestyle.”

The Gaiam x Jessica Biel range features capris, leggings, tops and jackets in a neutral colour palette of soft pinks, greys and gold with pops of oxblood red.

There is also a variety of marble prints and monochromatic ensembles which are perfect for wearing both in the yoga studio and on the street.

Eddie Esses, president of Sequential Brands Group’s Active Division, which oversees Gaiam, described working with Jessica as a “pleasure”.

“She has been a true collaborator; thoughtfully co-designing the capsule collection with a keen focus on the functionality of each style,” he said. “She really pushed to ensure each piece would fit seamlessly into busy modern lifestyles. We are thrilled with the designs and are excited for additional collaborations to come.”

Jessica’s range marks the first time Gaiam bosses have collaborated with a celebrity.

The collection will be available at department stores including Bandier, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s as well as at select brick-and-mortar locations and online.
