Cardi B has joined the cast of Fast & Furious 9.

Vin Diesel, who produces and stars as Dominic Toretto in the franchise, revealed on Tuesday that the Bodak Yellow star would be appearing in the long-running action franchise by posting a video on Instagram which showed him and Cardi on the U.K. set of the film.

“Day 86 here on the set of Fast 9. I know I’m exhausted, we all gave every single thing we could for this movie, put it all on the table, put it all out there,” he told viewers, before Cardi added, “I’m tired – but I can’t wait. I ain’t gonna front, this is gonna be the best one.”

“We’re so blessed. The last day of filming in the U.K. All love always,” Vin continued. They both started laughing when the 27-year-old joked that she needed to take a nap and the video concluded with them repeating the film’s release date “May 2020”.

Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster appeared to approve of the casting, as she wrote in the caption, “Yaaaaaasssssssssssssssss (sic),” with the raising hands emoji, and Meadow Walker, the daughter of late Fast actor Paul Walker, also gave her seal of approval.

It’s not known what role Cardi will be playing in the movie, which marks her second time acting in a film following Hustlers earlier this year.

In October, the rap star had teased that she had another acting job in the pipeline on The Ellen DeGeneres Show by saying, “Yup. I am going to film for a movie this month.”

Cardi B’s casting comes just a day after Vin revealed Latin popstar Ozuna had bagged a role in the film. They will join Fast & Furious regulars Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Nathalie Emmanuel as well as returning stars Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron and fellow franchise newcomers John Cena and Michael Rooker.

Latin music star Ozuna has landed a role in Fast & Furious 9.

Vin Diesel, who produces and stars as Dominic Toretto in the franchise, announced the Latin trap and reggaeton singer, full name Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado, had joined the long-running franchise by sharing a snap of himself with Ozuna and director Justin Lin on Instagram on Monday.

“As you know, we have often found great talent in the music industry to cross over into film,” he wrote in the caption. “They are expected to leave all the accolades at the door to embrace the character with integrity… and that is exactly what Ozuna has done. Very proud of your work and role in Fast 9! Pa Mi Gente (For my people)! All Love, Always…#Fast92020 #YoungSantos #Ozuna #Fatherhood.”

The hashtags also revealed that Ozuna will either play the younger version or the son of Don Omar’s character Santos, who had a big role in Fast Five and a small appearance in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious. He is a supporting character who aligns himself with Dominic’s crew.

The Puerto Rican star, who recently won two 2019 Latin American Music Awards, is also in talks to be part of the film’s soundtrack.

The casting marks his third appearance in a film following 2018 romantic comedy Que Leon and its upcoming sequel Los Leones, which is set for release in November, the same month his third album Nibiru drops.

Fast & Furious regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Nathalie Emmanuel are returning for the ninth instalment, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron are reprising their roles, while John Cena and Michael Rooker are new additions.

Dan Casey wrote the screenplay from a story by Lin and Alfredo Botello. The film is set to hit cinemas in May 2020.

Charlize Theron has opted for a ’90s-inspired bowl cut for her appearance in Fast & Furious 9.

The Academy Award-winning actress made her debut in the eighth instalment of the action franchise, 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, in which she played Cipher, a criminal mastermind and cyberterrorist who coerces Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) into working against his team by holding Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky) and their son hostage.

For her part in the movie, Charlize sported platinum blonde locks which were styled into twisted braids, but on Monday, she took to Instagram to upload a snap of Cipher’s new hairdo – a short brunette crop with honey blonde highlights.

“She’s baaaaack #Fast9,” she captioned two snaps from the set of the film.

Charlize, 44, didn’t share any further details about her latest transformation, however, her longtime hairstylist Adir Abergel uploaded a post in which he explained that the bowl cut was influenced by “early images” of 1990s supermodels Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford by photographer Peter Lindbergh.

“I always feel so blessed collaborating with this insanely talented human @charlizeafrica. I was inspired by early images of Linda Evangelista shot by @therealpeterlindbergh. It took some rad people to make this one come to life,” the hair expert captioned a picture of Charlize, before adding a vintage photo of Linda and Cindy and writing: “I was inspired by Linda Evangelista and Peter Lindbergh early ’90s vibes for Charlize’s new hair look. This image of @lindaevangelista@cindycrawford has been in my brain for a long time.”

A number of Charlize’s celebrity followers were quick to praise her bold new look too, with Lily Collins writing in the comments section, “Love this!!” and January Jones adding, “This hair is next level good. But would only look good on you.”

Fast & Furious 9, also starring Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, and Helen Mirren, is due to hit cinemas in May 2020.

Jordana Brewster has confirmed she will appear in Fast & Furious 9.

The actress played Mia in five of the eight Fast & Furious movies, and was the love interest for Paul Walker’s character, Brian.

But when the actor tragically died in 2013, filming was still underway on Furious 7, and accordingly, the script was changed to write Paul out of the franchise, with the final scene depicting Brian driving off into the sunset with Mia and their child.

Yet, on Thursday, Jordana shared a snap of her with co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris on the set of the ninth instalment, which is currently filming in the U.K.

“Feels good to be back with family,” she wrote.

Vin Diesel also shared a video from the set with Jordana, who plays his onscreen sister, with the pair sitting with a new child actor.

“OK, we are here, it is Day 4 and we are still in gratitude because it is such a beautiful place to shoot. We love shooting in London, this is one of many locations,” the 51-year-old commented.

“I am with Jordana, Mia, my incredible sister, on and off screen and we have someone very, very special here and this is Isaac,” Diesel said, before the young actor said he’s playing “Baby Brian”.

Fans are now speculating exactly what director Justin Lin is planning on doing with Paul’s character Brian, if Jordana is returning to the franchise.

Fast & Furious 9 is set to be released in May 2020, with Tyrese Gibson and Nathalie Emmanuel returning for the penultimate movie in the saga.

Emily Blunt stole the spotlight in a gorgeous gown at the New York A Quiet Place premiere on Monday night (02Mar18).

The British actress stepped out at the AMC Lincoln Square theatre for the debut of her latest film, a horror tale which follows a family of four that must navigate their lives in silence, that was co-written and directed by her husband John Krasinski.

Emily posed up a storm as she hit the red carpet and looked ultra glamorous in a strapless dress from Oscar de la Renta which featured a dark red silk bodice and frothy pale pink skirt tied at the waist with a long red ribbon.

She accessorised with red satin Gianvito Rossi high heel sandals, a pink satin purse from Tyler Ellis and jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz. John coordinated with his wife by donning a classic grey suit from Ermenegildo Zegna, teamed with a dark shirt and matching shoes from Christian Louboutin.

At one point, the Hollywood couple stopped to take photos with their on-screen children, as played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, and they also met up with Emily’s pregnant sister Felicity Blunt and her actor husband Stanley Tucci.

A number of other celebrities turned out at the event to show their support for Emily and John, including Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds.

Blake pulled out all the stops for the night too, donning a Chanel dress with grey tweed skirt and black leather bodice which she matched with strappy Balenciaga heels and bling from Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz.

Jordana Brewster went for a relaxed look in a pair of slouchy black trousers, a white camisole and gold jacket, while Zosia Mamet rocked up in jeans, a black top and a pair of lace-up boots.

And Broadway star Brandon Victor Dixon made a sartorial statement in a fuchsia suit worn with black accessories.
