Hailey Bieber has threatened to sue a doctor who has alleged she has undergone plastic surgery.
According to editors at E! News, lawyers representing the model and her husband Justin Bieber have sent a cease-and-desist letter to Dr. Daniel Barrett for uploading a video to social media platform TikTok over the weekend in which he compared photos of Hailey from 2011 and 2016.
Dr. Barrett speculated the 23-year-old has had surgery on her nose, genioplasty, or chin augmentation, and lip fillers.
However, the couple’s team have now threatened to take legal action against the Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon for using Hailey’s “name, image, and likeness” in order to “commercially advertise your plastic surgery practice and to spread false, uncorroborated claims that Mrs. Bieber has undergone plastic surgery.”
In addition, they have accused Dr. Barrett of using copyrighted lyrics from Justin’s song Sorry in the TikTok video.
Hailey and Justin’s lawyers have claimed the surgeon is subject to “statutory damages for each wilful infringement” and asked that he issue a public statement retracting the allegations.
The model has not yet commented on the video. However, last week she took to Instagram to deny she had gone under the knife after a fan posted pictures of her face now and when she was a 13-year-old in an attempt to highlight the apparent differences.
“Stop using pics that are edited by make-up artists!” she fired in the comments section. “This photo on the right is NOT what I look like… I’ve never touched my face so If you’re gonna sit around and compare me at 13, and then me at 23, at least use a natural photo that wasn’t edited so crazy.”
