Katharine McPhee has “resurrected” a dress she first wore on American Idol back in 2006.

The singer/actress and her musician husband David Foster have been keeping fans entertained while on lockdown during the coronavirus crisis by live streaming performances from their home each day. However, Katharine decided to get dressed up for the show on Monday and scoured her wardrobe for the sexy yellow number she once sported while competing on TV singing competition American Idol 14 years ago.

“It’s day 26 of quarantine and we’re breaking out dresses from 14 years ago,” she captioned a snap of herself in the outfit. “Might have to resurrect this moment, on a red carpet, once we are out of this.”

Katharine’s throwback post quickly racked up over 57,000 likes and comments from her celebrity pals.

Lisa Rinna simply wrote, “BODY!!!!!!!!!” while Katie Couric posted, “I could not fit into a dress from two years ago,” and David’s daughter Jordan Foster commented, “You are the only person to be in good shape during quarantine.”

Katharine, 36, first wore the yellow number for her performance of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing on the fifth season of the TV contest. And while she was eventually named as runner-up, with Taylor Hicks taking the crown, many of her followers still remembered the style moment.

“Um! I’m jealous that you can still fit a dress from 14 years ago! Holy heck!” one fan wrote, while another commented, “You had some moves in that dress!”

Katharine McPhee recently gave her husband David Foster’s hair a trim during an Instagram Live session.

The couple has been staging daily mini-concerts on social media while in self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic, and on Wednesday, the Smash star revealed she had stepped up and become a barber to give the veteran musician a much-needed tidy-up.

After introducing viewers to the live stream, McPhee recapped what they had been up to since their last online gig.

“The update is I cut your hair,” she said as she turned to Foster, and then pulled out a pair of scissors to trim his locks a little further.

“She did an amazing job – look at this!” Foster gushed, as McPhee explained, “It’s just a minor adjustment.”

“She did a great, great job,” the 70-year old-continued. “My hair was getting so long. I was starting to look like Einstein!”

McPhee and Foster aren’t the only celebrities giving each other at-home haircuts. Gwen Stefani recently helped style her boyfriend Blake Shelton’s new mullet by shaving stripes into the side of his head, while Ryan Reynolds revealed his wife Blake Lively was going to cut his hair shortly.

However, he joked that he wasn’t too thrilled about the idea since her first attempt wasn’t a success.

“She’s done this once before. It took two and a half hours. And then at the end, it looked like she had done the whole thing using only a lighter or like those gloves that are made of sandpaper,” the 43-year-old deadpanned. “It would have been a little faster and more efficient if she’d just wore it down, if she’d just rubbed my head until the hair just disappeared.”

Pink also realised the downsides of DIY hairstyling after she gave herself an uneven buzz cut.

Katharine McPhee has finally shared the first look at her bespoke Zac Posen wedding dress.

The Smash actress wed music producer David Foster in a chic ceremony in London last Friday, and finally gave her fans and followers on Instagram a full-length view of her stunning dress on Wednesday.

“The most perfect day with the most perfect husband,” McPhee wrote alongside a series of snaps that documented the nuptials.

In one image, the newlyweds are sitting closely together on a couch, while another shot captures the couple as they make their way down a staircase at their wedding reception, with the Broadway star debuting another Posen-designed dress.

The 35-year-old changed from her white dress with sweetheart neckline into an elegant, off-the-shoulder white gown with a delicate pattern from the New York-based designer’s pre-fall 2018 collection.

“I really trusted Zac Posen to make my wedding dress,” she told Vogue Weddings. “I knew he would bring my dream to fruition. I had sent him some reference images of Princess Grace (of Monaco). I loved her classic beauty and elegant simplicity. The wedding dress turned out to be more than I could’ve ever imagined.”

For cutting the cake and hitting the dance floor, McPhee opted for a blue duchess satin tea-length Zac Posen cocktail dress, that was based on one of his gowns from his spring 2013 collection.

Posen also shared a full-length shot of the Broadway star wearing his creation and wrote on Instagram: “The gorgeous bride @katharinemcphee in a one of a kind #zacposen right before her wedding! #madeinnyc #madewithlove”.

He later shared a sweet slow-motion clip of the former American Idol star spinning round in her breathtaking dress.

David also uploaded a snap from his wedding day on his Instagram Stories, and simply shared one stunning image of him and his new wife posing together shortly after they exchanged vows at the Church of Saint Yeghiche in South Kensington.

“A magical day 6.28.19,” the 69-year-old wrote above the sweet shot.

Singer/actress Katharine McPhee has recruited her fiance David Foster’s stylist daughter to help her pick out the perfect wedding dress.

The former Smash star gave fans a sneak peek at one of the gowns she tried on during a dress fitting session on Tuesday (15Jan19), and revealed she had taken her future stepdaughter-in-law, Jordan Foster, with her for a little professional advice.

In the photo posted on Instagram, the bride-to-be models a white strappy, backless, floor-length design, complete with a long veil.

“Wedding dress fittings today with @jordiefos! It was such a happy day,” she gushed in the caption.

She went on to assure followers it wasn’t her final pick, adding, “(It’s not the dress, but just wanted to share)”.

Katharine also shared the same image on Twitter, writing, “(don’t let david see this),” but it appears her fiance had already caught sight of the dress, as he ‘liked’ the snap on Instagram.

The veteran songwriter wasn’t the only member of the Foster family to give the gown the thumbs up – one of his other daughters, writer Erin Foster, also expressed her approval in the comments section.

“So cuuuuute (sic),” she wrote.

Katharine, 34, later admitted she had been rather emotional trying on gowns for her big day, after one follower confessed to shedding a tear at the sweet shot.

“I cried today too!” she replied.

Katherine and David, who became engaged in July (18), have yet to reveal their wedding date, but it won’t be their first trip down the aisle. The bride-to-be was previously married to Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016, while David, 69, has four ex-wives. His most recent union, to former model Yolanda Hadid, the mother of runway beauties Gigi and Bella Hadid, officially ended in 2017 after six years as husband and wife.

Kerry Washington dazzled in a silver jumpsuit at the 2018 Tony Awards on Sunday night (10Jun18).

The Scandal actress, who is currently gearing up to headline in the production of American Son, led the glamour at the Broadway celebration held at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Kerry stepped out in a stunning Atelier Versace number complete with plunging neckline, cutouts on the bodice, crystal embellishment and a dramatic train. She topped off the ensemble with bling from Lorraine Schwartz and Orifa Jewels.

“I figured that I wanted to sparkle a little,” the 41-year-old told Entertainment Tonight of her outfit. “I love theatre and I’m so excited to be coming back to Broadway. So, I wanted to really make tonight as festive as possible.”

But Kerry wasn’t the only star to wear silver to the bash; Mean Girls musical writer Tina Fey hit the red carpet in a long silver gown with feather detailing on the skirt from Thom Browne and Cartier jewellery while Tiffany Haddish rocked a shimmering grey Michael Kors jumpsuit.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress Rachel Brosnahan made a return to the red carpet following the death of her aunt, fashion designer Kate Spade, choosing a beautiful rose print Dolce & Gabbana gown with long sleeves for the occasion.

Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany chose a floral dress from Zac Posen and Mean Girls show star Taylor Louderman was elegant in a colour-blocked pink, white and orange gown designed by Christian Siriano.

“Chic and fabulous! The amazing #taylorlouderman looked so amazing tonight in custom Siriano at the #tonyawards,” the designer gushed over Taylor’s look in a post shared on Instagram.

But it wasn’t just the ladies who got dressed up for the night; The Boys in the Band actors Matt Bomer, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells and Jim Parsons attended the show in colour-coordinated tuxedos from Paul Smith.
