Jennifer Coolidge is open to starring in Legally Blonde 3.

The 58-year-old actress won herself legions of fans playing manicurist Paulette in Legally Blonde in 2001 and its sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, in 2003.

Earlier this year, Reese Witherspoon, who starred as socialite-turned-lawyer Elle Woods in the films, revealed she was developing a third instalment, and her co-star Jennifer has now stated that she’d definitely be keen to reprise her role once again.

“I know that there’s a script that’s in the works, I’m told,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “And I kept seeing all this press about it. I hear that it is going, but I just don’t know what the timeline is. But you know, if I’m asked to do it, I’ll definitely be in there… I would love to play Paulette again.”

The American Pie star reprised the role of Elle’s confidante earlier this year for a cameo appearance in Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next music video, in which the singer portrayed Elle as well as the leading ladies from films such as Mean Girls, Bring It On, and 13 Going on 30.

Jennifer’s admission comes after the Big Little Lies star said she’d love to see her former co-stars come together for the third movie in the franchise.

“I love Jennifer Coolidge and Luke Wilson and Selma Blair and so there’s so many great characters that people love,” Reese continued, also naming the actors who played her onscreen husband Emmett and nemesis Vivian, respectively.

She added: “If we end up doing it, hopefully they end up all being there.”

Reese Witherspoon drove fans wild when she discussed reprising her role as “amazing” Elle Woods for Legally Blonde 3.

In 2001’s Legally Blonde, the actress starred as naive sorority girl Elle, who tries to win back her ex-boyfriend by enrolling into Harvard Law School, but goes on to discover her own self-worth and cracks a huge murder case.

It spawned a successful sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde in 2003, and fans of the movies are desperate for Reese to return to her much-loved character.

She confirmed last year that there was a third movie in the works, with her onscreen love Luke Wilson also returning to the franchise.

Now, 16 years after she last appeared onscreen as Elle, the Oscar-winning actress opened up about the plans for Legally Blonde 3 during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“We’re meeting about it… I mean, we’re definitely talking about,” she said as the audience whooped and cheered.

“It’s sort of about women being underestimated, and I think it’s a good idea,” Reese said, as Ellen chimed in: “It’s a great idea.”

“Things have changed, but not that much has changed,” Reese explained, referencing the ongoing gender inequality in Hollywood. “I loved playing that character and she’s so amazing. And I mean, if you guys want it, I guess I’ll do it!”

The 43-year-old also chatted about the upcoming second season of her hit HBO show, Big Little Lies, and discussed the new addition to the already star-studded cast – Meryl Streep.

The triple Oscar winner plays Mary Louise Wright, the mother of now-deceased Perry (Alexander Skarsgard), and mother-in-law to his long-suffering wife Celeste, played by Nicole Kidman.

“She is so spooky, and she is mad, she is so mad!” Reese exclaimed. “Maybe I know where it’s going. It’s not going anywhere good!”

Luke Wilson is ready to reunite with Reese Witherspoon on Legally Blonde 3.

The 47-year-old doesn’t know much about the project, but is onboard for reprising his role as lawyer Emmett Richmond from the much-loved 2001 romantic comedy Legally Blonde, in which Reese played bubbly law student Elle Woods.

“Reese is so funny that I’d go back in a second and do it,” he shared during a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Michael Yo Show. “I’d definitely be up for it. All I’ve heard is the same thing everyone else has heard, it’s that they might be doing a Legally Blonde 3. But I can’t imagine anything that would be more fun. Reese played such a great character. I’d love to do a Legally Blonde 3.”

While he confessed it was strange to have made “a semi-classic” back in the early 2000s with Legally Blonde, he revealed that he now has women his age telling him that they’ve shown the movie to their daughters and that they “love it” too.

In Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, which was released in 2003, graduate Elle marries boyfriend Emmett after she heads to Washington, D.C. to pass a bill to ban animal testing.

And Luke joked that they could make the third movie “real”, and said that the couple should divorce to give his character “some financial issues”.

Reese confirmed last June that she was ready to step back into Elle’s designer shoes for Legally Blonde 3, which is set to be released in February 2020.

“Oh, it’s gonna be so fun!” the Oscar-winning actress gushed to Entertainment Tonight. “I got to go to a meeting the other day where we talked about all the new plot points and all the characters and some returning characters and some new characters. I mean, I got so excited just in the meeting. I was like, ‘This is gonna be good.'”
