Lindsay Lohan clung onto the idea of making her movie comeback with a Mean Girls sequel “for a really long time”.

The actress, who starred as central character Cady Heron in 2004’s original Mean Girls, has expressed interest in returning to the role for a follow-up, and in a video interview on Lights Out With David Spade, she admitted she hoped the sequel would be her big movie comeback.

“I think I was hanging on to Mean Girls for a really long time. I wanted to come back with a Mean Girls 2,” she said.

Although a new Mean Girls movie is in development, it is unlikely Lohan will be involved. In January, Mean Girls creator Tina Fey announced she had struck a deal with film studio Paramount to adapt the hit Mean Girls Broadway musical into a film.

Lohan isn’t attached to the project and appeared to accept it may not involve her, by saying, “(I) wanted to work with Tina Fey, and the whole crew again, and (director) Mark Waters. That was really what I wanted. I was excited to do that.”

However, she added that she’d be pleased if Fey were still to contact her.

The 33-year-old, who hasn’t starred in a notable movie since 2013’s The Canyons, has recently been focused on her music career and her beach club in Mykonos, Greece, which was the subject of a short-lived MTV docuseries.

In her interview, she acknowledged to Spade: “I should probably get back to doing movies at some point.”

Lohan released club single Back to Me with Casablanca Records in 2019. Although she promised fans she would release a full album at the end of February, no such recording appeared, and she told Spade she has been working on the music from Dubai during the pandemic.

“I started working with a writer called Alma, which was really fun, and I liked her tracks,” she said.

Tina Fey is “very excited” to be adapting her Mean Girls musical for the big screen.

Released in 2004, the original movie starred Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert as a group of infamous high school students known as The Plastics, who befriend new girl Cady, as played by Lindsay Lohan.

The Mean Girls musical hit Broadway in 2018, and has been a huge critical success, landing 12 nominations at the Tony Awards last year.

And on Thursday, Fey confirmed that she will be bringing The Plastics back once again, after landing a deal with executives at Paramount Pictures.

“I’m very excited,” the 30 Rock star, who wrote the 2004 movie and stage production, said in a statement. “It’s been incredibly gratifying to see how much the movie and the musical have meant to audiences.

“I’ve spent 16 years with these characters now. They are my Marvel Universe and I love them dearly.”

While Elizabeth Raposo, president of production at Paramount Pictures, added, “We’re thrilled to be bringing this iconic property back to the big screen in musical form with our incredible filmmaking team.”

Casting information has not yet been announced, but Fey’s husband, composer Jeff Richmond, as well as lyricist Nell Benjamin, will take charge of the movie’s music.

Lorne Michaels, who served as a producer on the original film and is one of the brains behind the hit Broadway musical, shared his delight at the news too.

“It has been a joy to work on Mean Girls and to watch it go from film, to musical, and now to musical film,” Michaels said. “I am very proud that Tina’s story and characters continue to resonate with new generations.”

Zendaya feared she would be set on fire by her Cinderella-inspired gown at the 2019 Met Gala after it began to overheat.

The 22-year-old stepped onto the red carpet at the prestigious fashion event back in May with stylist Law Roach, who acted as her Fairy Godmother.

He found Zendaya’s Tommy Hilfiger dress and made it glow blue, transforming her into a real-life Disney princess on the red carpet.

However, the Spider-Man: Far From Home star revealed that there was a team of people controlling the dress from the stands overlooking the red carpet at the Met Gala.

“The dress was like a science project,” she told Vogue.com. “It was animatronic, and there were literally two people in the stands moving it with remote controls. I had no idea that it was going to heat up because there were so many batteries and wires in it.

“It got really hot – like, I was a little bit scared – and I just said, ‘I should probably get this off before I roast…'”

The Tommy Hilfiger tribute to Cinderella was a hit on social media, however, there was one famous face who disapproved of the star’s Met Gala look.

Commenting on an image of Zendaya on the social media site, Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan raged: “Claire Danes did that with @ZacPosen already.”

The 32-year-old then addressed the Homeland star directly, and complimented the actress, who wore a similar style to the bash three years ago.

“@ClaireDanes, you wore this dress so beautifully,” she added. “I don’t know why someone thinks that they can be more chic. Ever.”

Zendaya later responded to Lindsay’s criticism in an interview, and said was unaffected by the unnecessary comments.

“Maybe in some strange way, that comment made them feel better that day. People are only negative because negativity is eating away at them,” she added.

Zendaya has responded to Lindsay Lohan’s comments about the Cinderella-inspired gown she wore to the 2019 Met Gala.

The Mean Girls actress was unimpressed by the light-up Tommy Hilfiger ballgown that the Spider-Man: Far From Home star wore to the prestigious fashion event in May, and noted in a scathing post on Instagram that Claire Danes wore a similar style to the bash three years ago.

Commenting on an image of Zendaya on the social media site, Lindsay raged: “Claire Danes did that with @ZacPosen already.”

The 32-year-old then addressed the Homeland star directly, and complimented Claire while throwing shade at Zendaya.

“@ClaireDanes, you wore this dress so beautifully,” she added. “I don’t know why someone thinks that they can be more chic. Ever.”

More than a month after wearing the stunning dress at the Met Gala, Zendaya has finally responded to The Parent Trap star’s criticism.

“I didn’t feel hurt by it and it didn’t make me sad because I have no idea what that person is going through,” she told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. “Maybe in some strange way, that comment made them feel better that day. People are only negative because negativity is eating away at them.”

Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach, who was dressed as the Fairy Godmother at the Met Gala and waved a magic wand to light up the 22-year-old’s dress on the red carpet, previously had his say on Lindsay’s words.

“I don’t know her,” he fired to reporters at Entertainment Tonight.

Zendaya’s fans also came to her defence on social media, with one asking Lindsay, who has not attended fashion’s biggest night since 2007: “What did you wear to the Met?”

Dennis Quaid wants his The Parent Trap co-star Lindsay Lohan to take a stab at staging an acting comeback.

The actor, who starred as Lohan’s dad in the 1998 comedy, believes it’s ”really time” for the 32-year-old to return to the screen, revealing he is still in awe of her talent.

Quaid revisited working with Lohan during a recent interview for Extra and called the actress “one of the most talented people I’ve ever met at 11 years of age”.

Lohan stepped out of the spotlight following a series of legal woes and hasn’t appeared on the big screen since her role in 2013 drama The Canyons, and now Quaid thinks she needs to get back to performing after dabbling with charity work, business and reality TV in Europe.

“I think it’s really time,” he added.

The A Dog’s Journey star previously gushed about Lohan on The IMDB Show last month, noting her performance as twins Hallie Parker and Annie James left a lasting impression on him.

“She had me believing they were two different kids. She was a savant,” Quaid continued. “She could just channel anything like that. Some people are like that and the rest of us have to work at it.”

It appears Lohan may soon have more time on her hands to return to her roots. She recently headlined the MTV reality series Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, which documented the launch of her Mykonos venture in Greece. But sources have revealed to editors at Page Six that the series will not return for a second season. According to the outlet, the nightclub has also shut its doors. The venue opened in May 2018.

Lindsay Lohan has taken a guess as to how some of her famous movie characters ended up.

The 32-year-old was the go-to actress for teen dramas in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, starring in films like Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and Life-Size.

Many of her movies live on with new old and new fans, and now Lindsay has pondered the fate of a few of her most famous alter egos.

“Cady Heron (from Mean Girls) is definitely back in Africa… building homes for orphaned gorillas. I mean, for sure, obviously,” she giggled in a video for Entertainment Weekly.

“Lola, (Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen), she would be a director on Broadway. She would be directing Mean Girls right now, duh!

“Anna Coleman (Freaky Friday) is now running for office. Secretary of State with Michelle Obama, probably, and Oprah Winfrey in 2020. So be sure to vote for her.”

As for the twins separated at birth she played in The Parent Trap, her very first film role in 1998 opposite Dennis Quaid and late actress Natasha Richardson, she thinks they would have ended up trading lives again.

“Hallie Parker and Annie James I think that they’ve swapped. Hallie is in London as a parenting counsellor and then Annie is in California running a vineyard,” she mused.

Some other guesses are that Maggie Peyton from Herbie Fully Loaded is now the VP at Tesla, while Just My Luck’s Ashley Albright is a “Diane von Furstenberg” like figure, running a fashion house.

“With really good luck,” Lindsay added.

And finally, although she doesn’t look set to have a role in Life-Size 2, she knows exactly what her character Casey would be up to.

“(She) would be living in Texas dating a really famous football player. And Casey would be friends with Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady and have kids parties together,” she said.

“I’m pretty sure you could put every character together and create a really good Capitol Hill office.”

Tyra Banks included a quote from her America’s Next Top Model meltdown into the Life-Size 2 script.

The supermodel famously lost her cool at contestant Tiffany Richardson back in 2005, with Tyra accusing the wannabe model of having a bad attitude.

In an emotional outburst after Tiffany was eliminated from the competition, Tyra screamed “we were all rooting for you!” and the moment soon went viral, with the phrase still being used in memes and GIFs shared across social media.

And in the sequel to her 2000 movie Life-Size, Tyra decided to pay homage to the memorable moment.

“I explained it to one of the writers. I explained what the moment was and sent some clips and said, ‘I think fans are going to react to this.’ It was a meta thing,” she recalled in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It actually got the biggest response at the premiere. You couldn’t hear the next 10 lines because everybody was laughing!”

Though Lindsay Lohan, who starred in the first film, was not able to take part in the follow-up, the crew found a clever way to pay tribute to the Mean Girls star, which Tyra said “was very touching and sweet”.

The fashion icon also found a way to update Life-Size for the present day; by rapping on the remix of her track Be a Star from the original soundtrack.

“I wanted to go as far away from the original Be a Star as possible, and I knew that rapping would do that. And now I know I’ve got ‘bars,’ is what I’m hearing people say!” she laughed.

Life-Size 2 was released in the U.S. on Sunday (02Dec18) and the 44-year-old also teased that she already has “ideas” for a Life-Size 3.

Paris Hilton lost 80 per cent of her designer handbags and clothes when she was targeted by the Bling Ring burglary gang.

Paris was among the celebrities who lost possessions during the Bling Ring’s reign in Calabasas, California during 2008-09, along with Rachel Bilson, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, Orlando Bloom and ex Miranda Kerr, as well as Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green.

The socialite and businesswoman had her house broken into multiple times, and was left with very few possessions in the wake of the robberies.

“When the Bling Ring broke into my house, they knew fashion, so they basically stole almost every single one of (my Dior bags), all my Birkins, all my Chanel bags,” Paris told Elle Australia. “They took basically everything, so 80 per cent of those things are gone because those kids broke into my house seven different times. Every time they broke in, they’d take more of my pieces. So, a lot of my stuff is gone.

“(The clothes) are probably in their closets, or on eBay… who knows.”

The 37-year-old is now thinking about finally replacing her Dior Saddle bag collection, after current label head Maria Grazia Chiuri reintroduced the iconic design to the French fashion house’s autumn/winter 2018 collection.

“I need to buy more Saddle bags! They’re so hot,” she smiled.

She’s also never lost her love for Juicy Couture tracksuits.

“I’m so happy that I’ve kept all my Juicy Couture. I have an entire closet of it, literally dedicated to all my Juicy. That was my uniform back in the day – what I always chill in when I travel. I live for Juicy,” the blonde star stated.

Camila Cabello wowed in red at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday night (04Nov18).

The Havana singer ensured she stopped and posed for photographers as she stepped out at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Bilbao, Spain for the music celebration, and wowed in a crimson ballgown with spaghetti straps from Australian fashion designer Alex Perry.

Camila, who was feted with four awards on the night, topped off her sophisticated ensemble with earrings and bracelets from Norman Silverman.

Among the other celebrities to dress up for the bash included Hailee Steinfeld, who hosted the ceremony.

The Most Girls hitmaker made a splash on the pink carpet in a bold silver satin minidress with plunging neckline and iridescent sequins dotted over the bodice from Armani Prive, and chose to complete her ensemble with crystal studded stilettos from Christian Louboutin.

Elsewhere, Halsey had a sartorial moment in a beige lace gown from Raisa & Vanessa which featured a graphic silver crystal pattern. The star chose to complement her outfit with large silver hoops, and alongside an image of her posing in her extravagant dress on Instagram, she simply wrote: “let em eat cake.”

Lindsay Lohan made an appearance at the gig too, and looked very glamorous in a gold pleated dress from Saint Laurent, while Bebe Rexha followed in her footsteps in a silver sequin dress, black leather boots and heavy gold chains from the upcoming Moschino x H&M collection.

And Ashlee Simpson and her husband Evan Ross once again proved they are the masters of matching outfits.

Saint Laurent has dished up a series of rocker-inspired outfits for its latest collection.

The French luxury fashion house, helmed by creative director Anthony Vaccarello, unveiled its spring/summer 2019 line outside the Eiffel Tower as part of Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday night (25Sep18), with celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, Carla Bruni, Nicole Richie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Salma Hayek and Lindsay Lohan all in attendance.

With a line of palm trees set up beside the water-covered runway, the show opened with a model sporting a black tuxedo, unbuttoned white shirt and snakeskin boots.

A number of androgynous ensembles followed, including a waistcoat and trouser combination and a white pinstripe blazer that was paired with a denim shirt and black leggings.

Vaccarello evoked a rocker chic vibe with the inclusion of denim shorts, black minidresses with plunging necklines, belted tunics, silk blouses and felt hats.

The collection was heavy on black and white garments too, though towards the middle of the presentation, the fashion star introduced some colour, such as a red velvet jacket, a strapless cobalt blue minidress with silver star appliques and floral print minidresses with plunging necklines and exaggerated shoulders.

Highlights of the line included a gold chainmail cape, a black sequin romper with frill detail and a black chiffon gown.

Kaia Gerber rocked the runway in a pearl white blazer, black shorts, round sunglasses and white platform heels, while other models sported body suits made out of leopard print or sequin fabric.

To conclude, Vaccarello presented a parade of elegant black looks, with the spectacle ending with a model wearing a black suit with a long tuxedo-style jacket featuring satin lapels.

Paris Fashion Week continues on Wednesday with shows from Mugler, Dries Van Noten and Kenzo.
