Skiing champion Lindsey Vonn is fronting a new campaign for Under Armour’s latest collection, which has been designed just for athletes.

The gold medalist announced the collaboration in a video post on Instagram on Tuesday (05Mar19), sharing her excitement over being the first athlete to join the label’s Project Rock venture alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson,

“I’m so proud to announce that I’m the FIRST athlete to join team #ProjectRock alongside @therock,” she captioned the footage. “DJ’s attitude towards training, and life in general, inspires me to be better, stronger; pushing to bend boundaries any way I can. And just because I’m retired doesn’t mean my training is over. My next chapter is just beginning!!”

Vonn admits it was Johnson’s involvement that made her want to be a part of the apparel company’s new venture.

“I am so excited to be on team Project Rock,” she tells People. “What I find so inspiring about Dwayne is that he always gives 110 per cent in everything that he does. He basically stands for 100 per cent authenticity and 100 per cent effort.”

Johnson launched Project Rock last year (18) and released the widely popular 1 athletic sneaker. Vonn’s new collection is set to be released on 21 March (19).

It comes after Vonn was forced to step back from her sporting career at the end of the 2018-2019 season following extensive knee injuries.

“It’s been an emotional two weeks making the hardest decision of my life, but I have accepted that I cannot continue ski racing,” Vonn wrote on the photo sharing site last month (Feb19). “I will compete at the World Championships in Downhill and SG (super giant slalom) next week in Are, Sweden and they will be the final races of my career.”
