Zoe Kravitz has clapped back at an Instagram follower who accused her of lightening her skin.

The Big Little Lies star, the daughter of fellow actress Lisa Bonet and rocker Lenny Kravitz, shared a photo of herself posing with her grey and white dog on social media on Tuesday, while holed up at home amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

“Stay inside kids. one day at a time,” she captioned the snap, which referenced her self-isolation as cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles and New York, advise residents to stay home to contain the spread of Covid-19.

The bright lighting of the picture led one fan to question whether Zoe had undergone a cosmetic treatment to lighten her skin colour, with the user writing, “Am I wrong or she is looking so white in this picture, please don’t tell me you are getting ready of your melanin, you are so beautiful with your natural color (sic).”

The comment prompted a backlash from some of Zoe’s other followers, who branded the remark “rude”, before the 31-year-old weighed in herself.

“Girl. this is what happens to some of us mixed kids when we can’t go outside lol (laugh out loud),” she retorted.

This isn’t the first time that Zoe has had to respond to unwanted comments about her appearance on social media.

The High Fidelity star recently shared two selfies on Instagram in which she showcased the products she used from YSL Beauty to achieve her perfect pout.

However, one of her 5.6 million followers was irked by the snaps, and claimed the actress had resorted to using fillers.

“Babe, what have u done to your beautiful natural lips??” the user wrote, prompting the star to reply, “Um. put some lipgloss on them…”

Zoe Kravitz felt “shortly and ungainly” when she was a teenager.

The Big Little Lies star is an ambassador for YSL Beauty, has fronted campaigns for the likes of Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co., and always flaunts her enviable style on the red carpet.

However, in a cover interview with Elle U.S. magazine, Zoe admitted she didn’t feel confident about her appearance growing up, because she compared herself to her actress mother Lisa Bonet and the models her father Lenny Kravitz dated, such as Adriana Lima.

“I didn’t like my new school. I didn’t feel like I fit in anywhere, and I was surrounded by an enormous amount of beauty and posturing. I was a chunky, perfectly normal-looking 15-year-old, but I had this remarkably beautiful skinny mother and a father who was dating a supermodel, and I felt short and ungainly,” she explained.

The actress soon developed an eating disorder which she suffered from for about a decade, and she remains mindful of her battle.

“I’m okay now,” the 31-year-old insisted. “But I am very vigilant. It’s a disease, and I never let myself forget that.”

Zoe, who married actor Karl Glusman last year, gave the interview to promote her starring role in upcoming miniseries High Fidelity, based on Nick Hornby’s book of the same name.

And the brunette beauty, who considers her love of fashion “an obsession”, revealed that she helped costume designer Colleen Atwood find vintage clothes for her character, including a leather coat that’s similar to the one John Cusack sported in the 2000 film adaptation.

“Most of them are now living in my closet,” she added of the costumes.

Jason Momoa has cemented his status as a style star by rocking a blush pink satin suit to the premiere of his new TV show.

The 40-year-old walked the red carpet alongside his wife Lisa Bonet for the debut of his Apple TV series See on Monday night, wearing the show-stopping Tom Ford suit, a grey cashmere sweater, an opal and turquoise statement necklace, as well as a pair of light grey suede Christian Louboutin boots with a stacked heel.

In a series of posts on his Instagram Stories, Momoa revealed that the necklace was made by Amie Hertzig and was “a very special gift from my wife”.

The former Game of Thrones star accessorised the look with numerous rings from Leroys Wooden Tattoos, Into the Fire Jewelry, Richard Baggett Studios, and Ossua Et Acroamata.

Meanwhile, Bonet stunned in a chic wide-legged black trouser suit and matching heels. She accessorised with several rope necklaces.

Momoa plays leading man Baba Voss in his new series, which is set in a dystopian future where all of humanity has lost the sense of sight. The show, created by Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight, follows Voss as his wife gives birth to a set of twins who can see.

It isn’t the first time that Momoa has rocked a pink look on the red carpet.

Earlier this year, he sent social media into meltdown when he arrived for the Oscars wearing a custom-designed Karl Lagerfeld pink velvet dinner jacket with matching trousers, along with a pink scrunchie on his wrist in case he needed to pin his long wavy locks up during the event.

And the actor has even created his very own pink sneaker with outdoor brand So iLL. Momoa designed the capsule collection, which includes a series of bags and shoes in a colour he has named Dirty Pink.

Zoe Kravitz and Karl Glusman marked their wedding with custom “Just Married” jackets.

The Big Little Lies star married the 31-year-old actor and musician at her father Lenny Kravitz’s 18th century mansion in Paris, France on 29 June, and Karl has now shared a sweet detail from their intimate nuptials.

“I believe our stars were written before we met, ‘Karl + Zoe, ride or die into the sunset…'” he captioned a photo on Instagram which showed the couple embracing hours after becoming newlyweds.

In the snap, the Nocturnal Animals star shows off the back of his custom black leather jacket, which features a big heart filled with clouds and a portrait of the 30-year-old X-Men: First Class actress and an unfurled scroll across the bottom of the jacket which reads, “Just Married.”

Zoe also had a matching jacket which featured a portrait of her new husband in the heart.

Karl later tagged artist Samantha Urbani as the creator of the unique piece of artwork on the jacket and wrote: “@samandude made the COOLEST jackets EVER!”

The artist shared a video of the duo dancing in their new jackets and wrote, “Only the coolest couple could inspire the coolest jackets, it was almost as fun making them as watching you get down in them.”

The couple exchanged vows in a chic Parisian ceremony in front of guests including her mother Lisa Bonet, her stepfather Jason Momoa, and her Big Little Lies co-stars Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Reese Witherspoon.

Many of the famous faces invited to the wedding had also joined the bride and groom at their rehearsal dinner at the Laperouse restaurant the night before the nuptials.

Zoe and Karl began dating in 2016, and became engaged in February last year.

Fendi has honoured the late Karl Lagerfeld with its fall/winter 2019-2020 couture show.

The German couturier, who had served as the Italian label’s creative director of fur and women’s ready-to-wear since 1965, died at the age of 85 in February.

Accordingly, menswear and accessories designer Silvia Venturini Fendi took the opportunity to honour the godfather of fashion at the latest high-end presentation, which was held at the Palatine Hill and overlooked the Colosseum in Rome on Thursday night.

Titled The Dawn of Romanity, and with the likes of Susan Sarandon, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and wife Lisa Bonet, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Zoey Deutch, and Kiernan Shipka, in attendance, Fendi told editors at Vogue.com that the range celebrates the relationship between Fendi and the capital city, as well as Lagerfeld’s groundbreaking vision and techniques.

“(His legacy includes) his attitude to break rules and push boundaries,” said Silvia, adding that for Lagerfeld, “Nothing was ever impossible, and that’s what we all tried for.”

To open the presentation, a model walked the runway in a white suit with blouse-like sleeves, a gauzy shirt, and carried a fur-look handbag. A retro theme was immediately apparent in the ensembles that followed, with Silvia opting for a palette of brown, tan, white, and light blue, as well as a mix of textures, such as dresses matched with furry coats. Sam McKnight was in charge of the hair, with each model sporting a round bob wig dyed to match their outfit, with the colours inspired by the pinks, greys, and apricots of Roman marbles.

Highlights of the collection included a dress with striped panels made from black velvet which was modelled by Candice Swanepoel, a black gown with ruffled skirt featuring deep-V neckline, a black dress with geometric panels worn by Liu Wen, as well as a long silky dress with ’60s-style marble print as modelled by Kaia Gerber.

Tessa Thompson, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet were among the stars to honour late fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld on the red carpet at Sunday night’s (24Feb19) Oscars.

The fashion and showbiz world were left in mourning last week when Lagerfeld passed away at the age of 85 from a secret battle with pancreatic cancer.

A long list of stars paid tribute to the Chanel and Fendi head in the immediate aftermath of his death on Tuesday, with a number of A-listers and their stylists deciding to also honour him at the Oscars.

Creed actress Thomson was decked out in a black silk bustier Chanel dress from the label’s Spring/Summer 19 couture collection.

Explaining the look, which featured gold sequinned tiers down the dress, her stylists Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald wrote on Instagram: “Honouring Karl… last couture collection x #tessathompson #oscars #chanel. Thank you for your legacy #karllagerfeld x #chanel #couture #tessathompson #oscars.”

They also revealed the 35-year-old’s beauty look was inspired by Coco Chanel.

Married couple Momoa and Bonet went for pink Fendi looks, picked out by stylist Jeanne Yang.

“Thank you @fendi @silviaventurinifendi for @prideofgypsies gorgeous tuxedo #karllagerfeld last pieces he may have ever made,” Yang wrote on Instagram.

“@fendi couture thank you @silviaventurinifendi for #lilakoimoon Oscar gown tonight the last one of #karllagerfeld as the creative director.”

She added to The Hollywood Reporter: “Jason is wearing the last thing Karl had his hand on with Silvia Fendi.”

During an interview with ABC before the Oscars, Bonet said: “We have the honour of wearing Karl Lagerfeld, he designed Jason’s tux personally for him.” Gesturing at her own dress, she added: “And this is from his last couture collection from Fendi.”

Momoa completed his look with a pink velvet scrunchie, also designed by Kagerfeld, which he wore around his wrist.

Meanwhile, Chanel collaborator Pharrell Williams wore a Chanel nameplate necklace as he posed for photographs on the red carpet.

Ashley Graham’s request for Jason Momoa to do the Haka displeases Lisa Bonet

Ashley Graham went viral on Sunday night (24Feb19), after an awkward moment when she tried to get Jason Momoa to do the Haka on the Oscars red carpet.

The 31-year-old model was just one of the famous faces fronting coverage of the awards ceremony for U.S. TV network ABC. And as she chatted to stars on the red carpet, Ashley found herself interviewing Aquaman star Jason and his wife Lisa Bonet. As she concluded her chat with the pair, an enthusiastic Ashley asked Jason: “I’ve got to get one Haka move, just one Haka move.” But Lisa was unimpressed by the request, shaking her hand and raising her hand to say that her spouse wouldn’t be granting her request. However, despite his wife’s clear disapproval, Jason was quick to oblige – sticking his tongue out as he recreated one of the moves of the Haka, the traditional, ceremonial dance of New Zealand’s Maori culture.

Lisa still made her discomfort at the situation clear, putting her head down and shaking it as Jason and Ashley stuck their tongues out.

But Ashley appeared to either be unaware of, or ignore, Lisa’s disapproval, laughing as she told the pair: “Yes! Thank you both so much, enjoy the rest of your night.”

Ashley’s request wasn’t entirely random, however, as Hawaiian native Jason had been performing the Haka during the promo rounds for Aquaman. He also performed the dance during his audition for hit show Game of Thrones.

Despite Ashley’s awkward moment, her Oscars night was otherwise successful. The stunning star showed off her hourglass figure on the red carpet in a black Zac Posen gown, which featured a strapless neckline, nipped-in waist and fishtail hem to highlight her curves in all the right places. Sharing a snap of herself in the ensemble on Instagram, Ashley wrote: “Thank you @zacposen for making my Oscar dress dreams come true.”

To complement her ensemble, Ashley wore her hair scraped back into a high ballerina-style bun, which was adorned with tiny velvet bows from Jennifer Behr to add even more glamour.

Actress Lisa Bonet’s husband Jason Momoa and her ex Lenny Kravitz have cemented their unique bond by sporting matching rings.

The Justice League star took to Instagram on Monday (10Dec18) to share a snap of the two men rocking their skull designs, created by an artist Jason had come across on social media.

The black-and-white photo appeared to have been taken backstage at U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live over the weekend (08-09Dec18), when Jason served as the guest host, and seemingly presented the visiting Lenny with the early Christmas gift.

“I’m a huge fan of the artists I meet on instagram love spreading the aloha (love),” read the image caption. “I got @lennykravitz a present made by @leroyswoodentattoos amazing bone skull ring…

“Mahalo (thank you) lenny for coming to support me on @nbcsnl aloha (sic)”.

The two men have more in common than just their taste in jewellery – Lenny shares daughter Zoe Kravitz with Lisa, to whom he was married from 1987 to 1993, while the former The Cosby Show star dated Momoa for over a decade before secretly tying the knot last year (17). They share daughter Lola, 11, and son Nakoa-Wolf, nine.

Jason frequently gushes about the pieces he purchases from ring designers online, and he previously revealed he would be wearing accessories from artists at Book of Alchemy during the global press tour for his new movie Aquaman.

Last month (Nov18), he showed off some of the skull-themed rings he picked up during a recent shopping spree.

“@bookofalchemy made so many many unique rings (sic),” he captioned a video clip of himself unwrapping the goods. “Go check him out Getting geared up for the premiere of Aquaman China UK NYC Manila LA Aus and Hawaii (sic). Can’t wait to show the world.”

Actress Zoe Kravitz likes to loosen up by having the tension stretched and pummelled out of her on the massage table.

The Big Little Lies star star seeks out a preferred specialist in Los Angeles whenever she needs to get rid of toxins and stress, but a trip to her favourite masseuse is never relaxing.

“I like massages, but not necessarily relaxing ones,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar. “I’m always travelling or working out, so in L.A. I see a body worker to break up all of that tension.”

Zoe, 29, reveals she tends to find the most relaxation when she is sweating it out.

“I don’t have a trainer; working out is my alone time,” she explains. “Depending on where I am, I go on runs or hikes or do the elliptical at the gym. I don’t get too fancy.”

She also loves to pamper herself with steam baths and saunas.

“There’s a Korean spa I love in L.A. that’s all women,” she notes. “I like to go by myself and spend hours there.”

Although Zoe has a balanced routine, the actress daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, reveals her hectic schedule does lead to stressful moments that tend to make her face break out, and whenever she needs a facial, she’ll visit Christine Chin in New York or Terri Lawton in Los Angeles – or she’ll just use a traditional clay mask to soothe her raging pores.

“My skin gets angry if I’m stressed out, so I’ll do a mask to clear it up,” Zoe shares, citing the Chlorella-Algae Facial Mask by ISUN as one of her favourites. “My mum got me into skincare at a very young age.”
