Jean Paul Gaultier will stage the last runway show of his career during the upcoming Paris Couture Week.

The legendary French designer announced his retirement plans in a statement posted to social media over the weekend.

“This show celebrating 50 years of my career will also be my last,” the 67-year-old wrote, referring to his haute couture presentation set to be held on Wednesday night. “But rest assured, haute couture will continue with a new concept.”

In an accompanying clip, Gaultier is seen pretending to speak to a journalist on the phone, giving them the “scoop” on his decision.

“I’m going to give you a scoop. This will be my last haute couture show. My last Gaultier Paris show. You have to come, you can’t miss that,” he joked. “But, but, but I assure you: Gaultier Paris will continue, haute couture will continue. I have a new concept; I’ll tell you about it later, I’ll tell you all the little secrets. But it is going to continue.”

Gaultier unveiled his first-ever collection back in 1976 and has since gone on to dress the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna with his avant-garde designs. He is also known for creating Madonna’s iconic conical bra back in the ’90s.

While Gaultier will still be involved in his high-end fashion and perfume businesses, he will take a step back from designing garments. The designer stopped making ready-to-wear clothes in 2015 in order to concentrate on haute couture.

Jennifer Lopez has channelled Hollywood glamour for Guess’ latest campaign.

The superstar previously fronted the marketing imagery for the fashion brand’s denim line back in 2017 and has also recently landed modelling gigs for the likes of Versace and Coach.

Now, Jennifer is returning to the Guess family as the face of the label’s spring 2020 campaign, with the photos showing her posing in a number of sexy outfits against the backdrop of Santa Monica, California.

“Whenever I do a collaboration, I always think of a character that I can play and be and we had a lot of fun doing that with this campaign,” she explained. “The vibe this time was a mix between an Italian film star from the ’60s, mixed with Madonna from the ’80s, mixed with Sophia Loren. It’s so much fun to get into the character and to make that happen. The clothes and setting of the shoot really worked well together to make this campaign come to life.”

The photoshoot was helmed by photographer Tatiana Gerusova and art directed by Guess’ chief creative officer, Paul Marciano. One image shows Jennifer posing in a lime green belted dress, while another depicts her wearing a purple tropical print dress in front of a palm tree. The 50-year-old also models a summery white outfit and a chic off-white three-piece suit.

Accordingly, Paul noted that he was thrilled with the final result.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jennifer back for a second campaign with Guess and Marciano,” he commented. “Jennifer continues to push boundaries in the music, fashion, and film industries and represents everything a Guess Girl is – confident, sensual and adventurous. This campaign shines a spotlight on Jennifer’s natural beauty and showcases exactly why she is celebrated as a true icon.”

Anna Sui is adamant current fashion trends are much too casual.

The American designer has been in the business since the early 1990s, and over the years, has expanded her empire to include footwear, cosmetics, fragrances, eyewear, and accessories.

In a new interview with CBC Radio One’s q show with Tom Power, Sui explained that she is tired of athleisure outfits dominating people’s wardrobes.

“We’ve had such a seismic change in how people dress in these last 20 years because things have gotten so casual,” she said. “I remember when you went on a plane before, you would get dressed up: you would see men in suits, you would see women in dresses. Now, you see pyjamas, leisure wear, exercise clothes, shorts. You know, it’s just completely broken down. It’s certainly been adapted by fashion now, the whole ‘athleisure look.’ And now you can buy $1,000 sweatpants and $1,000 sneakers.”

Sui, who explored the grunge fashion scene together with designers such as Marc Jacobs in the ’90s, went on to note that she would love to see the idea of “dressing up” become popular again.

“I wish there was a movement. I wish there was something where people want to get dressed up again,” she sighed. “And it’s not just because I want to sell clothes. It’s because I love getting dressed up.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Sui reflected on her first encounter with Madonna. While attending a fashion show in Paris alongside photographer Steven Meisel back in 1991, the popstar surprised her by turning up to the venue in one of her designs.

“She was wearing my dress,” she remembered. “That was one of those moments where I thought, ‘Maybe I do have a chance. Maybe I can do something.'”

Donatella Versace has recalled the time Donald Trump dropped into a fashion photoshoot carrying a bucket of fried chicken.

The Italian designer recently sat down with Anna Wintour for the 2019 Forces of Fashion conference, and during their chat, the U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief asked Donatella what she thought about the state of American politics. Though she swerved the question, the 64-year-old did discuss how she met businessman Trump, who has served as U.S. President since early 2017, at a photoshoot held at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

“I have a funny story about your President right now. We always work with the best photographers, even when (my brother Gianni Versace) was alive, the best models and celebrities. We were the first to work with celebrities for fashion shoots. So, we rented Mar-a-Lago from Mr. Trump and we went with Steven Meisel and Madonna and a huge team – make-up, hair, and stylists – to do this insane, glamorous campaign,” she remembered. “And the second day, after we did the most important pictures… we were doing the last picture and this gentleman, who was Mr. Trump, came in with a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. We were like, ‘Wow, Kentucky Fried Chicken?!'”

Elsewhere in the chat, Donatella insisted that she keeps a close eye on what is happening in politics around the world. And when pressed by Anna over the political figures she is interested in, the fashion star named Pete Buttigieg as one to watch in the U.S.

“I love politics in general, but American politics at the moment, (and) I think the world, is going through a very, very difficult time. When somebody looks back and doesn’t look ahead, that’s a mistake for everything, especially for politics,” Donatella added.

Drake has cheekily commemorated beating a chart record previously held by The Beatles with a new tattoo.

Last year, the God’s Plan rapper surpassed the British band’s record for the most songs simultaneously listed in America’s Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, with seven tracks from his 2018 album Scorpion.

In October, Drake secured 12 tracks on the Hot 100’s Top 10 in a calendar year, surpassing The Beatles’ record of 11, and this June, he passed the Fab Four to claim the second-most Hot 100 Top 10s ever, following Madonna.

The Canadian star has already marked the record-breaking feat in his music, and it appears he has now also celebrated the achievement in a more permanent way.

New pictures posted of Drake on social media showed him with new body art on his left forearm, and the rapper’s official fan account @WordOnRd shared images with the caption, “Drake has a tattoo of himself in front of The Beatles on his arm.”

The black and white tattoo is inspired by the band’s famous 1969 Abbey Road album cover, which shows John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr walking in a line at a pedestrian crossing. In the tattoo, Drake has been added as a fifth figure, who is seen standing in front of The Beatles and waving at them.

The tattoo had a mixed response on social media, with some Drake fans finding the new ink funny, and others commenting, “I love Drake but that’s so tacky and cocky lmfao (laughing my f**king a*s off) it’s not that deep,” and “Drake tats are like a college students laptop with stickers all over (sic).”

Drake had previously celebrated beating The Beatles’ record in his rap on Meek Mill’s track Going Bad, which featured the lyrics: “I got more slaps than The Beatles.”

His other tattoos include homages to Aaliyah, Sade, Lil Wayne, and Denzel Washington.

The Fifty Shades of Grey actress is known for having a small space between her upper two front teeth, and in a video for Vanity Fair in 2017, even demonstrated how she could put various objects into the gap, including toothpicks, a credit card, a cherry stem, a twig and cash.

However, following Dakota’s appearance at The Peanut Butter Falcon premiere in Hollywood last Thursday night, eagle-eyed fans noticed that it looked like she had the gap closed entirely.

A close-up photo of the star smiling at the premiere appears to confirm the speculation, though the 29-year-old has yet to comment on whether or not she had a recent trip to the dentist.

In light of the transformation, a number of Dakota’s fans have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts on her new look.

One user wrote, “Logged on to find out that Dakota Johnson, the only person who should have a gap in their teeth, got rid of hers…,” while another asked, “Is grieving over Dakota Johnson fixing her tooth gap a valid reason to not work?”

Yet, a third commenter showed support for Dakota, and praised: “I just found out Dakota Johnson fixed her tooth gap and I’m kinda sad because that was like her brand but if it makes her feel better I’m all for it u go queen (sic).”

Elsewhere, followers posted video montages in honour of Dakota’s famed tooth gap.

Other celebrities known for having gap teeth include Anna Paquin, Elijah Wood, Lara Stone, Madonna, and even Dakota’s rumoured boyfriend, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

The Peanut Butter Falcon, also starring Shia LaBeouf and Bruce Dern, is slated to open in U.S. cinemas on Friday.

Jean Paul Gaultier has divulged that he proposed to Madonna on three different occasions.

The fashion designer, known for his groundbreaking couture collections, was asked during an interview with British talk show This Morning on Wednesday if he’s always been a bit in love with the Vogue star, to which he replied, “I was kind of.”

Gaultier then went on to explain that he had even asked for his frequent collaborator’s hand in marriage, but she always turned him down.

“I asked her to marry me three times… and she said no,” the 67-year-old commented, before insisting they are still close friends.

Madonna first wore one of Gaultier’s designs to the premiere of Desperately Seeking Susan in 1985, and the Frenchman went on to create the iconic cone bra she wore onstage during her Blonde Ambition tour in the 1990s.

Since then, they have teamed on costumes for the pop singer’s Confessions tour in 2006, and her MDNA gigs in 2012, and even attended last year’s Met Gala together as each other’s dates.

The theme of the prestigious fashion event was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, and the Like a Prayer hitmaker turned to Gaultier to create her goth queen look.

Her black gown featured a fitted bodice and a sheer cross cutout, complete with a black veil and a cross-adorned crown.

At the time, the 60-year-old’s stylist told People that the mother-of-six considers Gaultier to be family.

“Madonna and Jean Paul have had quite a history together, so it was a wonderful family reunion and quite the fashion throwback,” Eyob Yohannes stated. “It was lovely to work with Jean Paul who has such a creative eye.”

Italian designer Marcelo Burlon has issued an apology after referring to Madonna as a “human toilet”.

Burlon, who serves as the creative director for the brand County of Milan, made the comment after the Like a Virgin hitmaker was photographed wearing an ensemble from the label that included black sweatpants and a matching sweatshirt adorned with colourful graphics and designs.

The designer shared the images to his Facebook account on Sunday along with a caption which translated to: “And the time finally came that Madonna, the human toilet, wore County (of Milan). I want to guarantee that nobody has given her anything for free, but that she paid with your money.”

Burlon later deleted the post and issued a lengthy statement expressing his regret over the comments on Tuesday.

“I made a huge mistake and I would first and foremost like to apologise for my stupidity,” he wrote. “Social media is a tool which can often be used for a frivolous laugh, but what I really learned today is that this should never ever be at the expense of another person or group of people.”

He then clarified that he often uses such slurs as a joke with friends and also noted he should have been honoured the iconic singer wore his pieces.

“I would like to ask forgiveness and express my most sincere regret to Madonna and anyone whom I might have offended, insulted or touched,” Burlon added. “My intention was never to provoke antagonism or hate. I made a naive and stupid mistake but the root of this should not be misunderstood as misogynistic because that was in no way my motivation.”

He also stepped in to complete filming on last year’s box office smash Bohemian Rhapsody, which won four Oscars, after Bryan Singer was fired mid-way through the filming of the Queen movie.

And now Dexter believes he’s found the perfect musical muse for his next flick.

“I’d do Madonna! That sounds like a real rollercoaster ride! It would be extraordinary,” he exclaimed to Gay Star News. “I don’t know how happy she’d be about that… but what an extraordinary life that would be. If I was to tackle any other icon like that, it would be her. She’s extraordinary.”

But the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels actor may have a hard time winning the iconic pop star’s approval; in 2017 she attacked screenwriter Elyse Hollander’s plans for a Universal project, to be titled Blond Ambition, and appeared to denounce the film on Instagram.

“Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen,” she stated. “Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.”

Blond Ambition remains one of the top scripts in Hollywood without a producer.

However, both Rocketman, which is currently winning rave reviews from critics and cinemagoers alike, and Bohemian Rhapsody, were made in collaboration with the artists themselves.

The singer is now one of the richest stars in music, with an estimated fortune of $590 million (£450 million).

But before she became one of the world’s biggest popstars, Madonna, real name Madonna Ciccone, and her family struggled financially.

Sharing an old photo on Instagram, the Queen of Pop told her 12.9 million followers: “My Sister Paula and I on my High School graduation day! We sewed our own dresses from Butterick patterns (dress emoji). I was always so embarrassed we could not afford store bought dresses. In retrospect Im glad i learned how to use a sewing machine (scissors emoji). Notice No cleavage or bare knees!! Papa Ciccone was very strict (laughing face). #highschool (sic).”

As well as her music career, the singer also turned her passion for making clothes into a business venture with clothing line Material Girl in 2010, named after one of her most famous hits. It’s a joint partnership with her daughter Lourdes Leon, 22, and caters to a teenage market.

The 60-year-old also previously designed for H&M, a range of sunglasses for Dolce & Gabbana, and launched a second lifestyle brand, Truth or Dare, in 2011.

Talking about designing at a low price point, she once told Billboard: “When I was 13 years old, I couldn’t afford designer clothes. I couldn’t afford expensive clothing. When I designed a line of clothes for H&M, that was one of the things I liked so much about it, that it was really affordable. I think that is one of the nice things about it, that you can make nice clothes at affordable prices.”
