Salma Hayek recently coloured her own hair at home in order to cover up her grey roots.

Earlier this week, the actress posted a candid before and after shot on Instagram, showing her fans and followers her silver-tinged locks which she had styled into a messy bun.

And the stunning “after” picture showcased Salma’s new at-home ‘do, with her sleek brunette hair given an overhaul with caramel-coloured highlights as well as a chic blowout.

While she didn’t share any details of how she coloured her hair, fans speculated that she had adhered to lockdown restrictions and performed a DIY dye job at home on her roots.

“In anticipation for reshoots, I finally had to do my roots. #roots,” the 53-year-old captioned the shot, as her fans and celebrity friends clamoured to compliment the Frida star in the comments.

“You’re so freakin beautiful!!!” Marion Cotillard wrote, prompting Salma to reply: “Look who’s talking. One of the most beautiful and talented women in the (world).”

She previously shared a make-up free selfie, and managed to hide her grey roots with the leaves from a perfectly placed tree in her garden.

Salma finished shooting three movies before Hollywood went into lockdown due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, including Marvel’s star-studded superhero blockbuster The Eternals, and sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, alongside Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. Both features are due to hit cinemas next year.

Marion Cotillard has been tapped as the new face of Chanel No.5 perfume.

A representative for the French luxury brand took to Instagram on Monday to share the news, uploading a black-and-white image of the actress gazing directly at the camera.

“Chanel is delighted to announce that Marion Cotillard will be the face of the new advertising campaign for the iconic N°5 fragrance,” they added in the caption.

No further details, such as a release date for the full imagery, were announced.

Cotillard has ramped up her ties to Chanel in recent months, having attended several fashion shows and worn an embroidered black outfit to the Marrakech Film Festival’s opening ceremony in December and a couture ensemble to the Cesar Revelations 2020 event last month.

The 44-year-old follows in the footsteps of Gisele Bundchen, Brad Pitt, and Nicole Kidman in landing a Chanel No. 5 campaign, while Lily-Rose Depp fronted the launch of Chanel’s No.5 L’Eau perfume back in May 2016, Keira Knightley was the face of Coco Mademoiselle, and Margot Robbie is currently promoting Gabrielle Chanel Essence. Other Chanel brand ambassadors include Penelope Cruz, Kristen Stewart, and Pharrell Williams.

Previously, Cotillard served as a brand ambassador for rival house Christian Dior. She was chosen to promote the Lady Dior handbag in 2008 and went on to appear in at least 15 other campaigns. However, the La Vie En Rose actress parted ways with the company in 2017, not long after Maria Grazia Chiuri succeeded Serge Ruffieux and Lucie Meier as interim creative directors at the label.

Dior executives are releasing a two-volume book to celebrate their long-running relationship with late photographer Peter Lindbergh.

The German photographer and film director passed away in September at the age of 74. Models and fashion stars took to social media to mourn him and many turned out for his funeral in the French capital during Paris Fashion Week, with notable guests including Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Karen Elson.

Now executives at the French fashion house are honouring their relationship with Lindbergh, who shot Dior campaigns featuring the likes of Marion Cotillard and Charlize Theron, by releasing a two-volume book simply titled Dior/Lindbergh.

According to WWD, volume one will contain images from his final project with Dior – a previously unseen photoshoot which took place in New York’s Times Square in October 2018 and featured the likes of Elson, Irina Shayk, Alek Wek, Saskia de Brauw, Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta, and Sasha Pivovarova. In the images, mostly captured in his signature black-and-white style, the models wear more than 80 vintage Dior creations from the archives against the NYC backdrop.

“Decisive moments capturing haute couture and a frenetic urban landscape pay homage to the street photography movement for which New York frequently served as a backdrop,” Dior said in a statement to the publication.

The second volume will feature more than 100 images of Dior looks photographed by Lindbergh for fashion publications.

Dior/Lindbergh, published by Taschen, will be released on 6 November in France and the rest of Europe.

Diane Kruger replacing Marion Cotillard in spy thriller 355

Diane Kruger has been tapped to replace Marion Cotillard in Jessica Chastain’s star-studded spy thriller 355. The Inception star was unveiled as part of the line-up alongside Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz, and Fan Bingbing at the 2018 Canne…

Diane Kruger has been tapped to replace Marion Cotillard in Jessica Chastain’s star-studded spy thriller 355.

The Inception star was unveiled as part of the line-up alongside Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz, and Fan Bingbing at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in France, when the international espionage movie was announced, but it was reported in May that Cotillard had withdrawn from the project for personal reasons.

Now, director Simon Kinberg has revealed he has recruited the Inglourious Basterds star for the role.

“I’m so ecstatic to have an actress of her calibre to round out this extraordinary cast,” he said to Variety of the German actress.

Chastain came up with the idea for an all-female ensemble spy thriller and pitched it to her X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Kinberg, who has since co-written the script with Theresa Rebeck.

“I brought the idea to Simon, told him about the actresses I was thinking of, and he was so sweet. He said, ‘I want to do it with you,'” Jessica told Deadline back in Cannes. “Then I called all the women, told them what I was envisioning and that I wanted it to be a collaborative process, and how we would all create this together… Every single actress I called said yes.”

The Help star previously assured fans she would be recruiting “eye candy” male roles and has since cast Avengers’ Sebastian Stan and her Zero Dark Thirty co-star Edgar Ramirez.

Chastain and Bingbing were on the Cannes jury in 2017 when Kruger was awarded the Best Actress prize for In the Fade. Her latest movie, The Operative, recently debuted at the Berlin Film Festival, and she is also set to appear in biographical drama Butterfly in the Typewriter.

Production on 355 is set to begin in July, with location shoots set for Paris, London and Morocco.

French actress Marion Cotillard has dropped out of plans to star in Jessica Chastain’s all-female action movie 355.

The Inception beauty was initially unveiled as part of the line-up, joining Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz, and Fan Bingbing at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in France to announce the new project, but one year on, it appears she will no longer be featured in the international spy thriller.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cotillard has cited personal reasons for her exit.

A replacement has yet to be unveiled, although producers have since added Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez to the cast.

The project will reunite Stan with his Black Panther co-star Nyong’o, while Ramirez previously worked with Chastain in 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty, and with Cruz on TV series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story last year (18), on which they played sibling fashion designers Gianni and Donatella Versace.

Details about the roles the two actors will play have not been announced, but the news emerges three months after Chastain took to Twitter to ask fans for a little casting advice.

“If you were going to make an ensemble female action movie and you needed a #BondBoy who would you cast? Asking for a friend. #eyecandyneeded,” she posted in February.

The #BondBoy is a reference to the iconic Bond girls, who famously woo James Bond in the 007 movies.

Filmmaker Simon Kinberg, who directed Chastain in the upcoming X-Men film Dark Phoenix, will begin production on 355 on 8 July (19), with location shoots in Paris, London, and Morocco.

Jessica Chastain on the hunt for ‘Bond Boy’ hunk to complete her action movie cast

Jessica Chastain has asked fans for a little casting help as she tries to find a “Bond Boy” for her latest movie.

The actress announced plans for all-female action movie 355 at last year’s (18) Cannes Film Festival in France, recruiting Penelope Cruz, Lupita Nyong’o, Marion Cotillard, and Fan Bingbing to join her at the launch, but she has yet to pick the movie’s leading man.

Jessica, who will serve as a producer on the film alongside director Simon Kinberg, has taken to Twitter to seek out ideas, asking followers: “If you were going to make an ensemble female action movie and you needed a #BondBoy who would you cast? Asking for a friend. #eyecandyneeded.”

The #BondBoy is a reference to the iconic Bond girls, who famously woo James Bond in the 007 movies.

Chastain received a quick response from pal Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who insisted he’d be perfect for the role.

“Jessica, we’re friends… just ASK me,” he joked.

The actress previously revealed she couldn’t be more excited about the early buzz surrounding 355, because she and her castmates are all so deeply involved.

“Basically, we’re making the film independently…,” she told breakfast show Today last year (18). “We own equity in the film. We went to Cannes and we sold it, and we raised more than we needed to and we’re now owners of the film. We’re the studio!”

Ironically, Jessica’s search for a new “Bond Boy” comes as 007 producers are considering who will replace current 007 Daniel Craig when he steps down from the franchise after one more film.

Chanel unveiled an Egypt-inspired Metiers d’Art collection in New York City on Tuesday night (04Dec18).

The French luxury house, led by creative director Karl Lagerfeld, presents a runway show outside of the traditional fashion schedule each year in order to honour the craftsmanship of artisan partners, with the 2018/2019 spectacle taking place outside of the ancient Egyptian Temple of Dendur, which is now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Regarding the location, a Chanel representative explained that Lagerfeld was inspired by the sandstone temple and its history when crafting the new collection.

“Commissioned during the reign of the Roman emperor Augustus Caesar around 10 B.C., the Temple is today one of the most recognisable symbols of ancient Egypt,” they said in a statement. “Gifted to the United States in 1965 in recognition of the country’s support of the UNESCO International Campaign to Save the Monuments of Nubia, and awarded to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1967, the Temple continues to inspire all who see it.”

Chanel brand ambassadors such as Lily-Rose Depp, Margot Robbie, Penelope Cruz, and Marion Cotillard all turned out for the presentation, which kicked off with a model sporting a white gown, dark gold boucle jacket, tassel necklace, and shiny gold pumps.

Signature Chanel staples, including tweed skirt and jacket sets, black dresses and knee-high boots, were given a touch of Egyptian flair, with many garments featuring bold patterns, hieroglyphic-inspired prints, and dramatic necklines which wouldn’t look out of place on Cleopatra or a Pharaoh.

Chanel brand ambassador Pharrell Williams got into the spirit of the show and walked the runway in a gold sweater with beaded collar, gold trousers, and gold boots, with the look topped off with heavy eye make-up, while model Kaia Gerber donned a white T-shirt and denim combination.

For the presentation, pieces were made by a number of artisans. Buttons, jewellery, belt buckles as well as handbag clasps came from the House of Desrues, flowers and feathers from the House of Lemarie, fabric pleating was completed by craftspeople at Maison Lognon, hats were manufactured by Maison Michel and embroidery was created by Atelier Montex.

Jessica Chastain brought woman-power to the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday (10May18) as she introduced her 355 cast.

The Help star assembled a group of international superstars, including France’s Marion Cotillard and Spain’s Penelope Cruz, when she first came up with the idea for an all-female spy adventure thriller and pitched it to her X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg, and on Thursday, the women made a show of force at Cannes.

Chastain, Cruz, and Cotillard were joined by Fan Bingbing and Lupita Nyong’o for a photocall to officially launch 355.

Prior to the festival, Jessica explained she personally reached out to her upcoming castmates to ask them to be part of the project.

“I had so much fun working on The Help that I always wanted to do another female ensemble film,” Chastain told Deadline. “I love the Bourne movies, the Mission: Impossible films and wondered why, except for Charlie’s Angels, there hadn’t been a true female ensemble action thriller spy film.

“That got my wheels going, along with the idea of casting actresses from all over the world to truly make it an international project. I realised the incredible creative freedom we would have with that. I brought the idea to Simon, told him about the actresses I was thinking of, and he was so sweet. He said, ‘I want to do it with you’.

“Then I called all the women, told them what I was envisioning and that I wanted it to be a collaborative process, and how we would all create this together. The one thing that felt important is that we all show up at Cannes, because that would be the beginning of our journey together. Every single actress I called said yes… They committed to Cannes, and to everything. So far it has been a very wonderfully easy process.”

Oscar winner Cruz has already seen a lot of Cannes this week after opening the 71st film festival on Tuesday with the premiere of her new film Everybody Knows, alongside her husband and co-star Javier Bardem.

Coco Rocha unveiled her second baby’s gender after she walked the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier on Wednesday (24Jan18).

The Canadian model announced that she and her husband James Conran were expecting their second child in December (17), a sibling for their two-year-old daughter Ioni.

Coco and Ioni walked the catwalk together in matching light blue dresses with black heart motifs on the bodice during Gaultier’s show held as part of Paris Couture Week, and the 29-year-old celebrated the special moment by sharing she is expecting a boy afterwards.

“Carrying my son in my belly with my daughter @ioniconran by my side, I will never forget this day!” she wrote on her Instagram page alongside a video of her and adorable Ioni walking the runway. “Thank you @jpgaultierofficial for another unforgettable moment on the runway, my heart is so full.”

Coco also uploaded several photos of Ioni in her outfit, both at a fitting and during the show. And the proud mother couldn’t have been more thrilled with the success of the surprise appearance.

“Backstage @jpgaultierofficial with my bestest friend, the ultimate mini-me, @ioniconran (sic). So proud of this little girl. Two years old and she takes it all in her stride,” the fashion star added.

Celebrities there to witness the special moment included Marion Cotillard, Paloma Faith, Kat Graham and Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere.

When it came to the rest of the spectacle, Gaultier certainly didn’t disappoint. The French designer, who dedicated the presentation to his former mentor Pierre Cardin, offered up a number of monochromatic ensembles with a ’60s vibe, including a striped minidress, black suit with edgy lapels, tailored vests and trench coats as well as fringed dresses and suits in a rainbow of hues.
