Martha Hunt often feels insecure about her runway walk due to her struggles with scoliosis.

The American model launched her career in 2007 and has since gone on to strut her stuff for the likes of Balmain, Carolina Herrera, Givenchy, Victoria’s Secret, and Versace.

Yet, in spite of her experience, Martha has now shared that she knows she will never have a perfect walk, due to her battle with scoliosis, a medical condition in which a person’s spine has a sideways curve.

“Having scoliosis and modelling has been a little bit of a challenge because of so much of modelling requires walking the runway,” she stated in a video detailing her beauty regime for Vogue.com. “And one of my biggest insecurities is actually that one of my legs is longer than the other, so my gait isn’t perfectly symmetrical. So, that’s one thing that I’ve had to deal with and kind of overcome those insecurities. But I think it’s important that we open up these conversations and talk about the things that make us insecure because if you want to talk badly about my walk or my gait or whatever, you can’t troll me about that. That’s just who I am.”

Elsewhere in the clip, Martha explained that one way she keeps back pain at bay is by dabbing on some of Wildflower’s CBD + Healing Stick. The formula features therapeutic essential oils like arnica and wintergreen to help combat inflammation.

“I frequently experience back pain, like many of you. And I like to use a little CBD stick. This one has eucalyptus in it. So, it’s like having a spa day while you’re getting ready… I like to put it on while my serum is absorbing. It kind of reminds me of Tiger Balm but it feels even more holistic,” the 30-year-old added.

Helen Mirren has traded in her silver hair for a new pink hue.

The British Dame unveiled the fun colour at The Best Years of a Life premiere at the Cannes Film Festival over the weekend.

The pink tinge matched her floor-sweeping, rose gold Elie Saab dress and Chopard jewellery perfectly. The gown, shown at the label’s couture spring/ summer 19 show, features sequin detailing and a cinched-in waist, as well as draping to reveal one shoulder.

The dye job was only temporary though, as Helen was back to her silver roots for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Philanthropic party in the French city on Sunday night.

Other stars to shine on the red carpet at the screening of the French language film included Andie MacDowell, Priyanka Chopra, Iskra Lawrence, Monica Bellucci, Toni Garrn and Martha Hunt.

Andie, who starred alongside Helen in 2001 TV movie On the Edge, went for a structured one-shoulder white top and teamed the garment with a pair of wide-legged grey trousers. The pair happily posed together for waiting snappers, with both blowing kisses to the camera.

Priyanka upped the glam factor in a tiered white Georges Hobeika gown, which was reminiscent of a wedding dress. Her husband Nick Jonas joined her at the premiere, donning an all-white suit.

Plus-size model and L’Oreal ambassador Iskra wore a custom-made red sequinned number by Valdrin Sahiti, Monica was dressed by Dior in a plunging black dress with a statement alligator necklace, Toni went for a structured purple and a burgundy and violet asymmetric silk Ralph & Russo design, while Martha glowed in a gold mini dress.

Bella Hadid shared a heartfelt tribute to her sister Gigi as she marked her 24th birthday on Tuesday (23Apr19), calling her sibling her best friend “by blood and by choice”.

The 22-year-old, also a hugely successful model, posted a series of throwback pictures of herself and Gigi on Instagram, alongside a gushing message for the birthday girl.

“Happy birthday to my best friend by blood and by choice. I am so lucky. you are everything good my sweet sister,” she wrote. “Your empathy, love, loyalty and work ethic are some of the reasons you are so beyond loved by so many… Your creativity and energy to always go above and beyond surprises and excites me everyday!!!”

“I am so inspired by you and every single endeavour that you take,” she continued. “I will be by your side for every single one you take in the future!. I am your #1 fan forever and I can’t wait for forever of birthdays with you!!!!! I love you My little ball of sunshine @gigihadid.”

Bella joined her sister at a bash to celebrate her birthday at L’Avenue restaurant in midtown Manhattan on Monday night. The siblings wore co-ordinating denim looks for the party, with Gigi sporting a white crop top along with low-slung jeans and a matching jacket with chunky black boots, while Bella opted for a denim corset top, jeans and a shirt with tan boots.

It appears that denim was actually the theme for the event, with the pair’s mother Yolanda Hadid rocking up in a dark denim three-piece suit and father Mohamed Hadid wearing a brown leather jacket over his jeans and shirt.

Helena Christensen, Martha Hunt, Olivia Culpo and Ashley Graham were among the other famous faces to attend the star-studded bash. Taylor Swift also made an appearance, but shied away from the denim theme and opted to instead wear a floral dress under a red checked jacket.

Martha Hunt got to discuss her insecurities with fellow scoliosis sufferer Princess Eugenie when she met the British royal last year (18).

Model Martha might be known for her catwalk strut, but growing up, the American had to deal with having a curved spine.

And like Eugenie, who proudly showed off her surgery scar in a back-bearing Peter Pilotto wedding dress when she wed Jack Brooksbank in October, Martha has also undergone surgery to correct the condition.

“I do feel empowered by my scars. I think they are a symbol of strength, all scars are beautiful and they tell a story, a very triumphant one, about oneself,” she smiled to Grazia magazine.

“It was very inspiring and made me so proud (seeing Eugenie). When I had the opportunity to meet her in London, over the summer, we discussed some of the insecurities we had as young women dealing with this illness, so seeing her wedding gown was so important because scoliosis was getting representation, because when we were younger, we didn’t hear anybody talking about it so openly.”

The Victoria’s Secret Angel began her fashion career after being discovered in her home state of North Carolina. She has gone on to work with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana.

And while she loves talking about work, she’s also happy to be vocal about scoliosis.

“If we don’t talk about something then we won’t be able to ‘see’ it. And if we don’t see it, it almost doesn’t exist,” the 29-year-old sighed. “But scoliosis is a real issue and I want to keep the conversation going. (I hope) my story helps (others with the condition to) feel less lonely, but also to keep the faith that they will be able to accomplish their dreams.”

Martha Hunt always applies fragrance before hitting the runway as it makes her feel “confident”.

The model kicked off her career at Paris Fashion Week in 2007, before going on to walk the catwalk for the likes of Victoria’s Secret, Issey Miyake, and Balmain.

While Martha is an expert at strutting her stuff, she has now shared that she has one ritual that she does prior to every show that really boosts her energy.

“Always apply a splash of fragrance before hitting the runway. Wearing fragrance instantly makes me feel more confident and ready to walk into a room,” she told Byrdie.com, adding that she is a fan of Victoria’s Secret’s Love Star perfume, which has plenty of fruity floral notes. “I always wear fragrance whenever I’m going to work or to a holiday party because it immediately makes me feel better of myself.”

Martha went on to explain that she takes her workouts seriously before major shows, such as the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. But she makes time to look after herself too, and is a fan of meditation.

“I like to practice transcendental meditation,” the 29-year-old said. “It helps me clear my mind and feel more centred and prepared to walk the runway. Sometimes you get stressed out and there’s a lot of noise around you, and this helps block out the noise.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Martha spoke about how she has found it more important to take her vitamins each day as she gets older as they really enhance her energy levels, and also noted that she is never afraid to ask her model pals for health and wellbeing advice.

“Some of the girls will work out with different trainers that could help you out, or they might have certain smoothie recipe or travel tips that will help you better prepare for the show,” she smiled.

Candice Swanepoel is walking in the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The supermodel will return to the runway just five months after giving birth to her second son Ariel, whom she welcomed with fiance Hermann Nicoli in June (18).

With many of her fans worried that mothering duties could make her a no-show for the lingerie brand’s annual extravaganza, Candice confirmed she would be returning to the fashion show with a post on her Instagram stories, as reported by editors at Vogue Australia on Monday (15Oct18).

The fashion show is taking place in New York in November, following a two-year hiatus abroad with stints in Shanghai, China and Paris, France. It was also recently confirmed that Victoria’s Secret had tapped Mary Katrantzou to create pieces for the event, taking over from Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, who was 2017’s designer.

Another model returning to the catwalk is mother-of-two Behati Prinsloo, who took a break from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show following the birth of her daughters Dusty, two, and Gio, eight months.

“I’m coming back this year. I missed two years, so I’m really excited to walk this year,” she divulged during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Stella Maxwell, Leomie Anderson and Devon Windsor are also returning, while there will also be plenty of new faces such as Duckie Thot and Winnie Harlow.

“I can’t believe this!!” Winnie exclaimed on Instagram, following her casting. “Thank you for giving me all the energy and kindness in that room! Thank you for allowing me to walk for VICTORIA’S SECRET!”

Other models include Georgia Fowler, Grace Elizabeth and Kelsey Merritt, the first Filipino model to walk in the show.

Martha Hunt’s skincare regime changes season to season.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel has walked in numerous fashion shows and also fronted campaigns for some of the most famous brands in the world, including Ralph Lauren, Prada and Jason Wu. Though the model has a very busy working schedule, she never neglects her skin and knows what works for her depending on the time of year.

“I use heavier moisturisers during the winter and lighter moisturisers during the summer,” she explained in an interview with StyleCaster. “When I take off my make-up, I always use a foamy cleanser and I use an exfoliator once a week to really clear up the skin, along with skin serums to keep it bright.”

Her supple complexion also means that the 29-year-old often favours an understated natural looking face.

“Sometimes the best beauty look is clear, fresh skin and a little colour on my lips, like Victoria’s Secret Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stains,” she shared, adding that her lips stay nourished thanks to ingredients like vitamin E and olive oil.

In addition to aesthetics, Martha went on to emphasise the importance of physical and mental wellbeing, and particularly praised the benefits of meditation, which she tries to practice every day.

“Sometimes it’s a challenge to fit in meditation, but I think that’s really important because it helps clear my mind. It helps me feel really centred and block out the noise,” the fashion star smiled. “I try to fit in 20 minutes a day if possible or every other day if I can.”

Martha also travels with a resistance band in her luggage so she always has opportunity for a quick work out.

“I can just put them around my thighs and do a quick leg exercise. Even if it’s just for 5-10 minutes, it makes you feel better instantly,” she insisted.

Martha Hunt has designed a necklace to help promote awareness of scoliosis.

The American model kicked off her career at Paris Fashion Week in 2007, before going on to walk the runway for the likes of Victoria’s Secret, Issey Miyake and Balmain.

While Martha may be the epitome of poise on the catwalk, she has struggled with the serious spinal condition over the years and is now teaming with Italian jewellery brand Pluma on a necklace with the word “Inegal” engraved on it in an attempt to increase understanding.

“When I thought of words that resonated with my #scoliosis journey, they didn’t sound pretty enough to put on a necklace,” she captioned a post on Instagram depicting her modelling the necklace. “Finally, I translated ‘uneven’ to French and the ‘Inegal’ title was born. The chain I wear proudly around my neck embraces my condition.”

Martha went on to explain that she decided to launch the necklace in June (18) to show her support for Scoliosis Awareness Month. The pendant is priced at $39 (£29), with 100 per cent of profits from each sale going towards Curvy Girls Scoliosis, a charity whose mission is to educate and support girls with scoliosis.

“We want this necklace to evolve over the years and become a token of strength for anyone with a debilitating condition, or simply going through a tough time,” the 29-year-old noted.

Previously, Martha shared that she had to undergo major surgery on her spine when she was in high school. Since then, she has dedicated her herself to boosting awareness and funding of scoliosis treatments.

“My body was completely different and more twisted before my spinal fusion. I’m working on a project, trying to get awareness out there for all young people burdened by scoliosis, and to help boost their self-esteem,” she told The New Potato in early 2017, adding that more funding is needed for research to improve treatments. “I would like to see treatment continue to evolve, so eventually we find a safe way to straighten spines!”
