Taylor Swift turned up the glamour in a glittering dress at the 2019 American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday night.

The superstar hit the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles wearing a dark green sequin number from Julien Macdonald, Casadei boots, and jewellery from Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz.

During the ceremony, the 29-year-old picked up six awards, including Artist of the Year and Artist of the Decade, and also performed a medley of her biggest songs, before launching into a version of her hit Shake It Off with Halsey and Camila Cabello.

Other stars to make a splash on the red carpet included Selena Gomez, who opted for a chartreuse minidress from Versace and Roberto Coin jewellery, Dua Lipa, who rocked a hot pink Miu Miu gown, and Billie Eilish, who wore a Burberry outfit topped off with a crystal mesh headpiece.

Lizzo made a statement in a marigold tiered dress from Valentino, which she matched with a tiny white purse and strappy white high heels from Stuart Weitzman.

“@maisonvalentino bag big enough for my f**ks to give. Big body b**ch in a Valentin-HO custom look for @amas,” the Love Hurts hitmaker captioned a snap of her posing with the miniature bag on her Instagram page.

Maya Hawke: ‘You feel more naked making contemporary films’

Maya Hawke feels “naked” when making contemporary films because it’s difficult to have insight into the current period of time.

The 21-year-old, the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, made her screen debut in the 2017 TV adaptation of classic period tale, Little Women, before making a splash this summer in ‘80s-set Netflix show Stranger Things and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is set in 1969.

Maya will soon be seen in two contemporary dramas – Human Capital, alongside Marisa Tomei and Liev Schreiber and Gia Coppola’s Mainstream with Andrew Garfield – and the actress admitted she felt more exposed making those modern pieces compared to the period ones.

“I love serious stuff, and I love dressing up in cool costumes and going through that transformation. There is something more naked about doing a contemporary piece,” she told Refinery29. “You’re really trying to reflect on your own time, and it’s hard to have insight and perspective on your own time. But I love working with Gia; she’s brilliant and funny and has such a wonderful visual imagination. All the actors in that cast are unbelievably talented, and I am really excited for people to see that movie.”

In addition to appearing in two big projects this year, Maya also recently launched a music career, and she explained she was exploring her passion while waiting around to get cast in roles.

“Acting is amazing… But the problem is that you’re always waiting around for a call; you’re waiting for someone to give you permission to do your work,” the star explained. “The nice thing with music in the last three years alongside the acting work I’ve done is that I didn’t have to wait for anyone’s permission… The months I just spent just waiting to get a part, I’ve been able to work on this. It has given my life some structure and purpose so that I’m not just waiting around and losing my mind and crying.”

Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon and Hollywood star Juliette Lewis have been tapped to appear in Miu Miu’s latest campaign.

Shot by photographer David Sims, the Italian fashion brand’s marketing imagery for the spring/summer 2019 season was unveiled on Tuesday (15Jan19).

One snap depicts Lourdes, 22, sitting in the back of a vintage car while wearing a black outfit, knee-high socks, and red stilettos, while another picture shows her posing across several seats in an old bus and sporting a glamorous ensemble consisting of a black sequinned blazer, matching skirt, and red satin pumps.

For her photoshoot, actress/singer Juliette sits in a vintage bus and shows off a denim dress and jewel-encrusted high heel sandals, with her hair swept back into loose curls.

In addition, the 45-year-old is seen sitting in a little black dress, with her outfit accessorised with a bejewelled purse and diamante necklace.

Rising stars including Deadpool 2 actress Zazie Beetz, Chinese model Du Juan, and Maya Hawke, the daughter of film stars Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, also appear in the campaign.

Regarding the concept, a Miu Miu representative explained that creative director Miuccia Prada wanted to capture the “transitory, fleeting nature” of fashion.

“Neither arriving nor departing, these images celebrate the notion of simply being – the geography hazy, the timing uncertain, they present a universal, everywhere and anytime,” they said in a statement. “Fleeting and transitory, reasoning uncertain, the travel could easily be an escape, or a coming home. The only concrete, the only constants, are the women themselves – singular, original, always unique. Somewhere, nowhere, yet someone.”

Zac Posen has tapped rising star Maya Hawke to star in his spring 19 lookbook.

Budding actress Maya, the 20-year-old daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, made her acting debut in 2017 mini-series Little Women, and will also appear in series three of Stranger Things, which hits Netflix in 2019.

For her new fashion gig, Maya was shot by Gia Coppola and posed fully clothed in a swimming pool.

“I love Zac’s clothing because the dresses don’t aspire to be ‘cool’ and they don’t try to overshadow or manufacture the personality of the women who wear them,” the brunette star told Vogue Runway. “They aspire to be beautiful and to highlight and frame one’s natural graces. There is something romantic and nostalgic about the shapes he chooses. The dresses are era-less yet original.”

Zac, who took his new muse to her first CFDA Awards and her first Vanity Fair Oscars party, has swapped runway shows for film and images over the past few seasons.

Explaining why he is shunning the catwalk at the moment, the designer said his current focus is creating projects that feel personal, and “capturing something that has atmosphere”.

“These images feel like something lasting versus having a runway,” he explained. “I love runway shows, but I could potentially put these in a book in the future.”

Palo Alto director Gia, who got her first big break when Zac hired her to make the video promo for his Target collection in 2010, also praised Maya for her charisma.

“She’s a natural born star,” she smiled. “She tapped into exactly what I was looking for without having to express it. She delivered so much – I really attribute the photos to how much she brought to the table. I’m really excited for her.”

Damon Herriman has been cast as Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The upcoming crime mystery is set to tell the story of a TV actor and his longtime stunt double as they try to find success in the Los Angeles film industry in 1969, with the actor happening to live next door to Sharon Tate, who is later tragically murdered by the followers of cult leader Manson.

While the shoot is already underway, editors at The Wrap have now confirmed that Herriman is to play Manson in the film, joining already established castmembers such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino.

The Australian actor is best known for his role as Dewey Crowe in FX’s Justified, and has also had minor roles in Breaking Bad and Top of the Lake: China Girl, as well as parts in The Lone Ranger and The Water Diviner.

Empire star Rumer Willis has also been cast as British actress Joanna Pettet, a friend of Tate who had lunch at her house just hours before her murder, while Dreama Walker will portray actress and singer Connie Stevens.

Costa Ronin, Victoria Pedretti, Margaret Qualley and Madisen Beaty have landed parts too.

In addition to directing, Tarantino has written the screenplay and will produce the feature in collaboration with Gravity’s David Heyman and Shannon McIntosh, who previously worked with the 55-year-old on his movies Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight.

The film was originally scheduled for release on 9 August 2019 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the murders, but is now expected to debut on 26 July.

Lena Dunham was also recently added to the ensemble cast, as well as Kill Bill star Uma Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke, and Inglourious Basterds actor Eli Roth’s estranged wife, Lorenza Izzo.

Lena Dunham has been added to the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s star-studded new movie, along with family members of the moviemaker’s past leading men and women.

Kill Bill star Uma Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke, and Inglourious Basterds actor Eli Roth’s estranged wife, Lorenza Izzo, have joined Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, and Luke Perry, among others, in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Vanessa Hudgens’ actor boyfriend Austin Butler is also a new addition to the film, which is set in the late 1960s and revolves around a washed-up western star, played by DiCaprio, who lives next door to tragic actress Sharon Tate, who was slaughtered by members of Charles Manson’s cult The Family.

Pitt plays the longtime stunt double of DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton.

The project marks the first major feature for Dunham, who previously appeared as the star of cable TV series Girls. She also had supporting roles in Happy Christmas and This Is 40.

Hawke, whose father is actor Ethan Hawke, made her mark as one of the stars of the BBC’s three-part adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic Little Women. She is also set to star in the upcoming third season of Netflix hit Stranger Things.

The film also features Timothy Olyphant, Emile Hirsch, Burt Reynolds, Al Pacino, and Tarantino regulars Tim Roth and Michael Madsen.

Dakota Fanning is part of the ensemble too – she has signed on to portray Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme, the Manson Family devotee who tried to assassinate U.S. President Gerald Ford in 1975 – and Brit Damian Lewis has been cast as movie icon Steve McQueen.

Tarantino has described the film as “a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood”.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is slated for release in August, 2019.
