Liam Hemsworth quit veganism last year after a health scare made him rethink his diet.

The Hunger Games actor, who switched to a plant-based diet back in 2015, revealed in the new issue of Men’s Health Australia magazine that he transitioned away from it for health reasons in 2019.

“The first two years, I felt great… I felt my energy was high. I felt like my body was strong, cardio was high, everything felt really good,” he shared. “February last year I was feeling really low and lethargic and wasn’t feeling good generally. And then I got a kidney stone.”

The kidney stone, known as a calcium oxalate stone, formed due to an excessively high level of oxalate, a chemical compound found in nuts, spinach, legumes, and bran.

Hemsworth had been consuming these foods in vast quantities, with his morning smoothie alone consisting of five handfuls of spinach, almond milk, almond butter, and vegan protein at the time of his hospitalisation.

“That was what I considered super healthy and doing the right thing,” the 30-year-old explained. “I had to completely rethink what I was putting in my body.”

Although the Australian actor’s vegan days are behind him, he was quick to insist that other people may still have a positive experience with the plant-based diet.

“If something works for a period of time, great, keep doing it,” he advised. “If something changes and you’re not feeling great, then you’ve got to reassess it again and then figure it out.”

Following his health scare, Hemsworth completely overhauled his eating plan and even went on a six-month stint of sobriety in an attempt to have “optimal health at all times”.

He also threw himself into exercise, which he credits with “keeping my head level and just staying balanced” following his separation from wife Miley Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus has helped executives at MAC Cosmetics announce a $10 million (£8.1 million) donation towards local organisations in the fight against coronavirus.

The We Can’t Stop star, a former spokesperson for the brand’s Viva Glam charitable campaign, confirmed the company’s new initiative to help support people affected by the current health crisis in a statement on Thursday. Approximately 250 organisations and programmes around the world will benefit from the money.

“I am so proud to have been chosen to announce MAC Cosmetics’ efforts, because MAC Viva Glam has a special place in my heart,” Miley said. “I was Viva Glam ambassador in 2015 and had the opportunity of volunteering at LGBTQ LA, which is one of the MAC Viva Glam grantees that will be getting this funding.

“The Viva Glam efforts are only made possible by the continuous support of the MAC community and those who purchase a VIVA GLAM lipstick of which 100 per cent of the proceeds goes towards these local organisations.

“To get involved you can purchase any current shade of the current lipstick or send a virtual kiss to those on the front line via Twitter or Instagram with hashtag #vivaglam.”

Since it was established 26 years ago, MAC’s Viva Glam Fund has raised more than $500 million (£404 million) for organisations around the world.

John Demsey, president of MAC’s parent company, Estee Lauder Companies Inc., added that he hoped the donation would help stop the spread of the “unprecedented” pandemic.

“We believe that this is once again a rallying call for MAC Cosmetics and Viva Glam to lend money and support populations at risk from this infectious disease,” he commented.

Ashley Graham took a 20-hour drive from New York City to her native Nebraska before the coronavirus lockdown kicked in.

The model, who gave birth to her first child 10 weeks ago, had a feeling the Big Apple would shut down and took her mother’s advice to get out of the city with her newborn son Isaac and husband Justin Ervin.

“I was like, ‘Let’s go’,” Ashley told Miley Cyrus during her appearance on the pop star’s Bright Minded Instagram Live show on Tuesday, admitting she’s so glad she took the drive across country.

“It’s been a breath of fresh air. I’m looking out now and I can see grass… I went for a walk.”

And the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model has a positive way of looking at the lockdown, revealing if it wasn’t for the global pandemic she would be back at work now after her maternity leave.

“I’m having that time that I wouldn’t have been able to have…,” Ashley said. “I’m incredibly blessed.”

Ashley also revealed that a family friend lost his life to the coronavirus, but she and her family are well – and she is using her forced time off in Nebraska to focus on working out, eating well and “self-havening”.

“I learned it from my midwife,” she added, explaining it’s the practice of comforting yourself with hugs. “It teaches you touch and how to connect with self. All you’re craving (right now) is someone to give you a hug.”

The former America’s Next Top Model judge is also planning to learn Italian, so she can speak with her husband Justin’s family in Italy.

“I’m going to come out of this knowing a new language,” she laughed.

Bebe Rexha has praised Kim Kardashian for helping her to embrace her natural curves.

The singer is now a vocal advocate for body positivity, having encountered a number of instances of size discrimination since launching her career in 2013.

However, in a conversation on Miley Cyrus’s Bright Minded show on Instagram on Wednesday, Bebe named reality TV star Kim as one of her icons.

Explaining how she desperately wanted to sport outfits similar to those worn by the likes of Miley and Britney Spears as she was growing up, the 30-year-old added, “I was a bigger, curvier girl. I had too much a*s and too much thighs (sic). She (Kim) had those curves, so I felt more accepted.”

Further on in the chat, Bebe also opened up about how she is keeping her mental and physical health in check during the coronavirus pandemic, noting that she has been making time for regular phone appointments with her therapist.

“We have to be super nice to ourselves and have a schedule,” she shared. “I meditate and I’m not allowed to look at the TV until 1pm… and you have to force yourself to do things you don’t wanna do, like a workout.”

Yet, Bebe also confessed that her lockdown diet hasn’t been great, and while she’s been snacking on Reese’s Pieces candy every day, she refuses to give herself a hard time over her food choices.

“Right now, you have to be really kind to you. We are all scared, we’re all anxious, you’ve gotta be really nice to yourself,” the Meant to Be hitmaker insisted.

Miley Cyrus didn’t wear shorts or bikinis for years after her infamous performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards because she was hurt by the memes about her appearance.

The Wrecking Ball singer hit the stage wearing a fuzzy grey bodysuit and then stripped it off to reveal nude Latex underwear ahead of her raunchy duet with Robin Thicke, which hit headlines worldwide.

Following the controversial show, trolls shared images of Miley’s bottom in the nude pants alongside pictures of a plucked turkey or chicken, and speaking to Demi Lovato on her IGTV show Bright Minded: Live with Miley, the 27-year-old admitted the memes made her stop wearing bikinis and shorts.

“I basically went through two or three years where I wouldn’t wear shorts. I stopped wearing skirts on stage, all this s**t, because after the VMAs and I had on my cute new bodysuit, everyone started comparing me to a turkey,” she explained. “I was like just so skinny and so pasty and they kept putting me next to this turkey, and I was feeling so bad about myself that I did not wear a bikini for like two years.

“No one thought that that would’ve ever made me feel some type of way… It was just really, really hurtful to be so body-shamed like that. And it really affected me in my personal life.”

Miley also confessed she felt like a “fraud” for presenting herself as super confident to the public when she was really insecure on the inside.

“What was so hard about it was my brand has always been about being so unapologetically myself and being confident, and the worst thing that I would feel like I would be to my fans would be lying or a fraud,” she shared. “I felt like having this persona of being the most confident girl on the planet was actually kind of fraud because I was so insecure on the inside that in my personal life I wasn’t even wearing bathing suits and shorts. And when I was wearing like my little leotards and things, I had on f**king four pairs of tights because I was so insecure.”

Demi Lovato is determined to continue representing a “normal” body type in the media.

The Skyscraper singer, who struggled with eating disorders and negative self-image in the early days of her career, has been focused on maintaining a healthy weight and perspective in recent months.

Reflecting on how her battles were amplified by the pressures to appear thin as a young singer and actress during a chat with Miley Cyrus for her IGTV show Bright Minded: Live with Miley on Tuesday, Demi shared that her advocacy of body positivity has given her real purpose in life.

“My whole purpose in coming clean with everything that I’ve been through is so that it will help someone,” she commented. “I remember being 12 years old and my body started changing, and I didn’t have anybody (to look at) in young Hollywood at that time that had a normal body, it was just stick figures because that was what was in style. I made a vow to myself that when I get older I wanna represent what I didn’t have. I want to be that for somebody.”

Demi then went on to discuss the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world. With many people now opting to self-isolate or work from home, the star urged those feeling particularly vulnerable to be “gentle” on themselves.

“I think it’s so important for anybody that has dealt with body image (issues) that right now when we’re home with our mirrors and things like that, it’s so important to not get consumed in negative self-talk,” the 27-year-old added. “This goes for everybody. We’re confined into these spaces, with the same mirrors, the same negative thoughts. It’s important not to beat ourselves up over getting nervous or not eating perfectly or working out perfectly. These are different, very scary times. We’ve never been through this. It’s OK, be gentle with yourself as much as possible.”

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have cemented their romance by getting matching tattoos.

The couple went public with its romance in October, just two months after the Wrecking Ball hitmaker announced her separation from husband Liam Hemsworth.

Miley and Cody were spotted heading into a Los Angeles tattoo parlour during a night out early on in their relationship, and the artist who worked on the stars’ designs, Nico Bassill, has now revealed the co-ordinated ink in a post on Instagram.

In one snap, Miley is seen displaying the outline of a trident symbol on her left wrist, while Cody has had a filled-in version added to his collection on his left upper arm.

“‘Some mornings it’s like the sun rises only for her.’ Prince Neptune,” Nico captioned the photo, seemingly referencing a poem the Australian singer/writer has penned about his girlfriend.

Cody is currently promoting his upcoming book, Prince Neptune: Poetry and Prose, which will be released on 7 April.

The 23-year-old has regularly been sharing snippets of the poetry collection on a dedicated Instagram page, and in one post, noted that he viewed the work as “like my notebook”.

“It started when I was 18 living down in Venice Beach recording my poems, visions, thoughts. Now, at 23, it’s filled, bound, published, and ready for you to get your hands on April 7. First copy arrived yesterday & I’m stoked,” he gushed.

Meanwhile, Miley also recently visited Nico to get a replica of a Henri Matisse drawing on her right tricep.

No stranger to body art, the 27-year-old also has a number of mini designs on her hands, the word “freedom” tattooed on her right hand, and a snake motif on her left forearm.

Miley Cyrus made a surprise appearance on the catwalk during Marc Jacobs’ fashion show on Wednesday night.

The designer unveiled his latest fall/winter 2020 collection at the Park Avenue Armory as part of New York Fashion Week, with the spectacle drawing in the likes of Sofia Coppola, Nicki Minaj, Yolanda Hadid, and Stephanie Seymour, and top models including Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Kaia Gerber.

But instead of joining the audience as she usually does, Cyrus chose to get in on the action partway through the presentation, where she modelled a black bralet, matching trousers, and carried a zebra print coat.

Taking to Instagram after the show, Cyrus posted a video showing her seriously strutting her stuff, and the clip quickly attracted over five million views and comments from her celebrity pals.

Hailey Bieber wrote, “YUP. STOMP QUEEN,” Kloss posted, “Best of both worlds,” and Georgia Fowler penned, “Incredible.” Naomi Campbell simply posted a string of fire emojis.

Cyrus, 27, is a longtime friend of Jacobs and previously collaborated with him in 2013 for a charity T-shirt line, which featured the slogan “Protect the Skin You’re In.”

She also appeared in the designer’s spring 2014 campaign, and they reunited to co-design a pink hoodie to raise funds for Planned Parenthood last year.

Jacobs has long been one of Cyrus’s go-to designers – she wore an outfit from his fall/winter 2013 collection to the Met Gala a few months after he showcased the line.

Marc Jacobs has celebrated the intersection of “chaos and form” with his fall/winter 2020 collection.

The designer unveiled his latest line at the Park Avenue Armory as part of New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night, with the spectacle drawing in the likes of Naomi Campbell, Sofia Coppola, Nicki Minaj, Yolanda Hadid, and Stephanie Seymour.

To kick off the presentation, Karole Armitage, known as the “punk ballerina”, took to the stage to perform a show-stopping abstract dance.

“Our fall/winter 2020 collection celebrates the intersection of chaos and form, the rituals of getting dressed and the power of storytelling through movement as a gesture into possibility,” a brand representation wrote on Instagram. “Marc Jacobs celebrates the power of storytelling through the movements of legendary and renowned choreographer and dancer, Karole Armitage. Karole’s talent and genius is in her ability to dismiss the discipline of her craft by challenging conventional gestures. Her abrupt, fierce and sometimes violent articulations brings the cultural influences of today into conversation with a past New York I will forever love, not for longing of time passed but for moments that are timeless in reference.”

A troupe of dancers continued to perform in the background as the show began, with a model opening in a lemon-yellow coat and matching leggings. A series of similar numbers in pale pink and white followed, with Kaia Gerber wearing a pale yellow faux fur coat and matching hat.

However, Jacobs then dropped in a variety of eclectic looks, such as a spotted coat, red dress with white Peter Pan collar, a light blue pea coat, a red tartan jumpsuit, and a grey tweed suit.

Other highlights included a black sequin evening gown as worn by Bella Hadid, a white suit and red beret as modelled by Gigi Hadid, singer Miley Cyrus in a black bralet and trouser combination, as well as Karlie Kloss in a white gown with a high-neck top and long silk skirt.

Elsa Pataky has no regrets about getting a matching tattoo with her brother-in-law Liam Hemsworth’s now estranged wife Miley Cyrus.

Back in 2016, the Fast & Furious star and the Wrecking Ball singer celebrated their close bond by getting matching tattoos of a simple wave symbol in black ink on their arms.

Elsa, who is married to Liam’s older brother Chris Hemsworth, has insisted she has no regrets over the matching ink, despite Miley and Liam separating last summer after a short-lived marriage.

“I don’t regret any of them, they’re symbols and I love having them and it reminds me of those moments,” the 43-year-old told Vogue Australia.

The Spanish actress and Miley were also joined by friends Kalani Miller and April Munro for the special tattoo session, which was shared on Instagram at the time by Sydney-based artist, Lauren Winzer, who revealed that the simple ink was designed by Australian surfer Kelly Slater, who is dating Kalani.

Elsa didn’t comment further on the breakdown of her brother-in-law’s marriage in the Vogue interview, but has previously shared her thoughts on Liam and Miley’s very public breakup.

While speaking to reporters at an event in November, the mother-of-three said the 30-year-old actor was “taking it well”.

“He’s a strong guy and he deserves the best. I think he deserves much more,” Elsa stated, before adding that Avengers: Endgame star Chris was comforting his younger brother.

“Family is always there to protect you. He and his brother are so close and he’s really been there for him to give him the strength he needs,” she shared.

Liam has moved on from the split and is currently dating model Gabriella Brooks. Miley is now dating Australian musician Cody Simpson.
