James Corden, Missy Elliott and Minnie Driver have joined the cast of Camila Cabello’s Cinderella musical.
The movie, directed by writer/director Kay Cannon, is based on an original idea from the U.S. late night TV host, and will be a musical retelling of the classic fairytale.
The British star will play one of the mice who is turned into a footman to take Cinderella to the ball alongside fellow comedians John Mulaney and Romesh Ranganathan.
Meanwhile, rapper Elliott will play the Town Crier in the flick, while Driver has been tapped for the role of Queen Beatrice, according to Deadline.
The newcomers join Senorita singer Cabello, who is making her feature acting debut in Cinderella and will also be involved in the music, and as well as relatively unknown British actor Nicholas Galitzine, who has been cast as love interest Prince Robert.
Pierce Brosnan will also be playing the King, Idina Menzel will serve as the wicked stepmother, and Billy Porter will take on the role of the fairy godmother.
The musical comedy re-imagines the traditional Cinderella tale and follows the heroine as she tries to make her ambitious dreams come true. Production on the movie is set to begin this month.
Corden and Leo Pearlman are serving as producers on the film, alongside Jonathan Kadin and Shannon McIntosh, who was executive producer on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The musical is set to hit theatres in February 2021.

Marc Jacobs has been named as the recipient of the first-ever MTV Fashion Vanguard Award.
The New York-based designer unveiled his first collection under his namesake brand back in 1986 and has since gone on to branch out into a number of categories, including perfume and cosmetics.
Now, bosses at MTV and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) have announced that Jacobs is to be honoured for making an “indelible impact” on the industry at the upcoming 2019 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
“Jacobs and music are inextricably linked, from tapping Cher and Missy Elliott for his ad campaigns, to dressing fashion icons Lady Gaga, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “With a legacy that spans over three decades, Jacobs is a preeminent figure in fashion and music, perfectly embodying the spirit of the Fashion Trailblazer Award.”
In addition, Jacobs and his team are working with MTV to create a multimedia activation on the red carpet to highlight his creative vision at the event. The on-the-ground experience will have a dedicated photographer and stylised elements.
Jacobs’s clothing has been tied to music videos since the start of his career and he used the vintage MTV logo for pieces he designed in his spring 2017 resort collection.
“First of all, MTV always had the coolest graphics,” he told Vogue of his design inspiration. “It was very spot-on for what MTV was saying and who they were saying it to. It really spoke to me, and I think that generation of people at that time.
“I’ve maintained them in my memory bank, and they’ve never gone away. They’re iconic.”
The MTV Video Music Awards will take place in Newark, New Jersey on 26 August. Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco is hosting the event.

Missy Elliott has credited cutting out bread and upping her water intake for making her look and feel better.
The Work It rapper has been showing off the results of her recent health kick in social media snaps recently, and has now shared her diet secrets.
“Proudly to say it’s been 4 months I have only drank water no other juices or soda & I cut out bread & Lord knows that’s been the hardest for me! (sic),” she captioned a new picture of herself on Instagram.
“See I’ve NEVER been a water drinker but this have helped my skin it really restore glow back & I don’t feel sluggish (sic).”
However, the road to being slimmer and healthier isn’t always easy for the 46-year-old, who used to be known for having a much curvier frame.
Further down in her post, Missy confessed that she still gives in to her biggest diet vice – junk food.
“NOW the other thing if I can only cut out JUNK FOOD s**t that’s my weakness #Facts But if I can give up those other things I’ll fight that to! Maybe two cupcakes a month (sic),” she shared.
This isn’t the first time Missy has overhauled her diet and fitness regime; in 2014 the rapper enlisted the help of celebrity trainer Shaun T to lose 30 pounds. She showed off her svelte frame at the Alexander Wang x H&M launch event in October of that year, and once again talked about the weight loss on her social media pages.
She also lost an extreme amount of weight in 2008, and was later diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid.
