Anna Faris is set to play twin sisters in an upcoming comedy about a dysfunctional family.

The 42-year-old will pull double duty on Summer Madness by playing the two warring twins – one broke and unsuccessful, one elegant and wealthy. Disowned by her conniving mother, the broke twin, named Georgie, tries to rally her dysfunctional family to appear picture perfect in order to win a large cash prize at her mother’s annual gala.

The Scary Movie actress will also produce alongside Trucker filmmaker James Mottern, who will direct from his original screenplay. Faris’ cinematographer partner Michael Barrett will serve as producer alongside Emilio Mauro.

Production is expected to begin in spring next year.

Worldwide distribution company The Exchange will be handling the sales of the movie at the American Film Market (AFM) event later this month.

“Anna Faris is a comedy icon with global value,” Brian O’Shea, head of The Exchange, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring a studio-level actress to an indie marketplace.”

The actress, who currently appears opposite Oscar winner Alison Janney in the U.S. comedy series Mom, is no stranger to big-screen comedies, having starred in the likes of The House Bunny, Just Friends, and What’s Your Number?

Summer Madness will be her first movie since last year’s comedy Overboard, which was a remake of the Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell classic from 1987.

Actress Allison Janney depends on her extensive sunglasses collection to look chic while out and about in Hollywood.

The former The West Wing star expresses herself through eyewear that is both practical and stylish, utilising prescription lenses to hide tiredness and save time when she’s in a rush and hasn’t applied makeup.

“When you live in Los Angeles, a great pair of sunglasses is crucial,” she tells InStyle. “The hair and makeup process in this town is a lot, so you have to have shades to throw on that’ll make you look instantly chic when you’ve stayed up too late and don’t have time for any of that.”

Janney has developed quite the collection over the years and chooses her accessories to match her wardrobe.

“I’ve had bad eyesight for most of my life and hate wearing contacts, so I’ve collected dozens of prescription sunglasses over the years,” she adds. “I keep them all in a cabinet right by the door so I can swap them out every day, depending on my outfit and what I’m doing. I have lots of frames that I love, but lately I’ve become obsessed with the ones by the L.A.-based brand Jacques Marie Mage.”

The Oscar winner appreciates the wide range of offerings the brand has and the fact that proceeds from purchases benefit a good cause.

“They all have beautiful, luxe shapes and colourful tinted lenses,” she notes, “and for every pair you purchase, the brand donates to organisations that protect American wildlife and national parks, which is just the icing on the cake. I wear the thick green frames most often to work on the set of (TV comedy) Mom, and everyone says I look like a Greek shipping magnate.”

The 59 year old also depends on her frames to enjoy one of her favourite pastimes – people watching.

“When I want to go incognito, I wear the dark navy ones,” she shares. “I love to people-watch, especially at the airport, but unfortunately my height always makes me stand out. These glasses are like having a force field on, so I have more freedom to look around. When I put on the gold-wire aviators, I just feel cool – I know I look so much better in them than I do out of them.”
