Naomi Watts has encouraged fans to check out online exercise classes while practicing social distancing during the coronavirus crisis.

The actress took to Instagram on Thursday to post a picture of herself performing a yoga pose, and in the accompanying caption, shared that she is keeping active at home by live streaming yoga and other workout methods.

“Stand strong and have hope! I know the wheels are coming off, and we are all trying to find ways to navigate this awful uncertainty. Side note, I’m living in sweats, cooking c**p food, I’m short-fused, and have only put on lippy once in five days… And yes… it was for Instagram,” the 51-year-old wrote. “How do we get through the cabin fever? The boredom and fear…? It’s all but impossible with such high anxiety levels to keep our spirits up but here’s a couple tips: @premayogabrooklynand @theclass are doing live streaming classes… Good for the body, mind and soul if you have time. They are fantastic and uplifting.”

Naomi went on to recommend that those with some free time check out the information about at-home self-care rituals posted on the Onda Beauty website – the clean beauty company she co-founded in 2017.

Elsewhere in the message, the mother-of-two asked her 1.3 million followers for their advice on keeping calm whilst the pandemic continues to sweep the globe.

“Tell me how it’s going for you. What are you doing to keep your anxiety at bay? Let me know good ideas, games and easy recipes… and anything to keep the kids from fighting!!” she added. “Community is everything right now. So please send your thoughts. Sending love and strength to you all and big giant love to the doctors and nurses who are working their butts off in these scary times.”

Naomi Watts was left feeling “miserable” after developing chronic skin condition rosacea while working on her Netflix series Gypsy.

The 51-year-old actress told Britain’s The Sunday Times Style magazine that applying make-up “two to three times” a day and “spending hours under hot lights” while working on the show led to her contracting the condition, which results in redness, pimples, swelling, and small and superficial dilated blood vessels on the face.

“A few years back in 2016, while I was working 16-hour days on Gypsy, I was having to apply make-up two to three times a day and spend hours under hot lights,” she said. “I was really suffering from rosacea. It was making my life miserable. My skin was just saying leave me alone.”

The King Kong actress explained her struggles inspired her to become the latest celebrity to tap into the ever-growing “clean beauty” market, as she launched Onda – a range of natural, organic products that she co-founded with former Conde Nast fashion market director Larissa Thomson and former magazine editor Sarah Bryden-Brown.

Explaining she wanted to start the brand after she “eliminated chemically driven products from my beauty regime”, the new collection has gained a cult following, and Naomi revealed fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who founded lifestyle brand Goop, has been “very supportive” of the venture.

Elsewhere in the interview, the mother-of-two insisted she was dedicated to “supporting” women going through the menopause and has slammed the stigma surrounding it.

“Menopause should not be a dirty word. It’s such a shame society has made it so,” she fired. “We need support from each other, and to not be made to feel like unsexy, infertile, crabby old ladies that should be sent out to pasture.”

Naomi Watts spends mere minutes applying her make-up each morning.

The Mulholland Drive actress is instantly recognisable for her flawless complexion and chic sense of style.

However, Naomi wears very little make-up when she’s off-duty, and over the years, has mastered getting ready in just five minutes.

“I’m not very good at putting on make-up or doing my hair, to be honest,” she told U.S. Shape magazine. “I’m a five-minute girl with getting dressed. So the least amount of make-up is the best for me – I use about four products.”

Naomi went on to note that she’s “big” on eyebrows and uses a pencil to shade in her arches, though doesn’t wear mascara because her eyes are “sensitive”.

“I also love the Beautycounter blush sticks and lipsticks. Its Dew Skin tinted moisturiser is a game-changing product for me-I like to be able to see the skin breathe. And I can do all that in the car,” the 50-year-old shared.

In addition to her acting work, Naomi has ventured into the world of clean cosmetics with ONDA Beauty, which she has co-founded with Larissa Thomson and Sarah Bryden-Brown.

Using products containing natural ingredients is important to the Hollywood star, and she has noticed a difference in her skin since she started avoiding formulas containing harsh chemicals.

“My skin has become extra sensitive and reactive, so I realised that I needed to cut out the chemicals that were in the products I was using. Keeping it clean is really key. That means a double cleanse with the right cleanser: an oil cleanser for removing eye make-up, followed by a milk cleanser – I like one from Tammy Fender,” she added of her cleansing routine.

Naomi Watts couldn’t bear to miss her chance to team with Octavia Spencer again in new psychological thriller Luce.

The actress previously appeared alongside Oscar-winner Octavia in two films in the Divergent franchise, and she loved working with her so much, she was an immediate “yes” for director Julius Onah’s new project, even before she read the script.

“In the summer two years ago, I got sent the script and I was told that Octavia was attached to it,” Naomi recalled to Entertainment Weekly. “Already it was clear that it was going to be read by me by the end of the day, just because it was her.

“I had already worked with her before – on that Divergent (film) series – and I had such a great experience with her. And also the projects that she picks, it’s such an endorsement that comes with that. With her name attached, it made me read it right away, and the minute I started turning those pages, I felt like it was really rich, dynamic material. It really just got under my skin.”

Naomi is convinced fans will be blown away by all the stand-out performances in the critically acclaimed new film, which also stars Tim Roth and newcomer Kelvin Harrison Jr.

“Kelvin is such a discovery in this movie,” the actress gushed. “So much of it was about presentation, how he believes he needs to present himself. He had a tricky role, and if we couldn’t stick with him, the whole story doesn’t work.

“He had a really hard job, and he handled it in an impressive way. I was quite blown away by him.”

Luce reaches theatres on Friday.

Andrew Lincoln has signed on to star alongside Naomi Watts in the upcoming family drama Penguin Bloom.

The film has been adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by author Bradley Trevor Greive and photographer Cameron Bloom, which follows the extraordinary true story of a young family who struggle to come to terms with the consequences of a near-fatal accident.

The Walking Dead star Lincoln has been cast in the role of Bloom, alongside Watts as his wife Sam. The film shows how the family, including their three boys, try to piece their lives back together after Sam falls from a balcony while on holiday in Thailand, and is left paralysed from the chest down. The family, who live in north Sydney, learn to adjust to their mother in a wheelchair with the help of an injured magpie chick called Penguin.

The film will be directed by Australian filmmaker Glendyn Ivin, with Shaun Grant and Harry Cripps penning the script.

Watts will also serve as producer, alongside Emma Cooper, Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky.

“We were all captivated by this heart-warming story of resilience, the power of family and hope,” the producers said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have the supremely talented Andrew Lincoln on board to bring the Bloom’s story to audiences around the world.”

British actor Lincoln is best known for playing Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead. He left the show after eight years in 2018, but is set to reprise the role in upcoming spin-off movies.

Watts is currently shooting The Long Night, one of the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones prequel series.

Russell Crowe’s skin has been damaged from the prosthetics he wore to transform into disgraced TV boss Roger Ailes.

The Oscar-winning actor portrays the former chairman and chief executive officer of Fox News in the upcoming TV show The Loudest Voice, with the drama focusing on Ailes’ resignation from the company in 2016 amid allegations of sexual misconduct, and his death at the age of 77 in 2017.

For the part, Crowe was required to wear dramatic prosthetics and heavy make-up, but on Monday (15Apr19), he admitted in an Instagram post that the process was very challenging.

“The Actor endures … 5 months of prosthetics. 2 make up applications to go… Skin care = discipline,” he captioned a close-up snap of very red skin around his eyelids and nose. “From an actor’s perspective a character like Roger Ailes is a gift… but the physical and mental battle has been intense. The glow some see on my skin is actually damage.”

The Loudest Voice, based on Gabriel Sherman’s book The Loudest Voice in the Room, is set to premiere in the U.S. on 30 June on the Showtime network.

A photo of the main castmembers in full costume was recently published in The Hollywood Reporter, with the teaser also showing Naomi Watts as Gretchen Carlson, Seth MacFarlane as Brian Lewis, and Annabelle Wallis as Laurie Luhn.

In the accompanying article, Crowe shared that he was drawn to the part due to the “f**king good material,” though wasn’t thrilled to be spending so much time in the make-up chair getting covered in silicone, especially as filming began back in November.

“By the time we reach the end, I’ll have spent over 12 days of my life in this chair,” the 55-year-old sighed.

Rosamund Pike favours Armani clothes because they allow her “true form” to be revealed.

The English actress has her pick of designers when it comes to dressing for glitzy showbiz events, but you’ll often find her wearing pieces from Giorgio Armani’s namesake label.

She sat front row at the designer’s Milan Fashion Week show on Saturday (23Feb19), and opened up about why she’s such a big fan of the Italian label.

“At Armani, there’s a way the clothes follow the body that means your true form is revealed,” she enthused to The Guardian. “I felt that the first time I ever put on a pair of Armani trousers when I did my Bond film. I thought: ‘this works for my body'”.

The Gone Girl actress was in a tailored black suit for the Fall/ Winter 19 presentation, and was joined by Naomi Watts and Austin Mahone at the show.

She also spoke about the importance of clothes as a whole.

“Clothes have their own energy. They should never feel like costume. You should be able to buy into the energy of a good suit or a wonderful dress. Wearing them should feel effortless,” she smiled.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Glenn Close was feted at Armani’s Beverly Hills boutique ahead of Sunday night’s Oscars.

Samuel L. Jackson, Jeff Goldblum and Sara Sampaio were among the stars who turned out for the stylish event, which was held after Close scooped the Best Female Lead at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

“Mr. Armani was the first designer to work with me,” she said to the Los Angeles Times.

Close, who lost out to Olivia Colman for the Best Actress Oscar, added to WWD: “The first important blazer I bought was a black, double-breasted Armani, it was in the Eighties when they had those amazing shoulders. And then the first fancy dress I borrowed was from Armani, for the first Kennedy Center honours I went to (in 1984). I still have the blazer. I probably have all my Armani suits because all through the ’90s, that’s all that I wore.”

Joseph Altuzarra is adamant all women deserve to wear clothes that make them feel sexy.

The fashion designer launched his brand in 2008 and quickly became known for his luxury ready-to-wear line, which draws on his multicultural upbringing.

While many fashion houses tend to cater to a younger demographic, Altuzarra has now spoken about how he designs clothes to suit women of all ages.

“A lot of the women we want to talk to are not just 20, 30 or 40 but also 50, 60 and 70,” he said in an interview with U.K. newspaper The Telegraph. “The root of my idea for the brand was looking at women like my mum, who were in their sixties and who still wanted to be sexy, and who didn’t want to feel like society was relegating them to having to wear tweed suits.”

Altuzarra went on to explain that he always considers how a bra and perhaps underwear will work with a particular outfit.

But his main concern is how exactly the wearer will feel when they slip into one of his ensembles.

“I just really wanted to create happy clothes, that you would want to wear when it’s beautiful out, and which make you feel in love and happy,” the 36-year-old noted.

Since starting his brand, Altuzarra has outfitted a number of high-profile names, including Rihanna, Kate Bosworth, Nicole Kidman, Tessa Thompson, and Naomi Watts.

However, one of the designer’s most important relationships has been with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex – who made a splash when she stepped out in a black Altuzarra suit for an event in September (18).

“She came to the party for our Target collaboration five years ago and we’ve worked with her ever since. She represents such a modern idea of womanhood as well as a very new idea of royalty,” he smiled of the former actress.

Michael Kors has confessed that he loved to wear head-to-toe Versace in his youth.

The American fashion designer, whose company Michael Kors Holdings Limited recently acquired the Italian couture house in a $2 billion deal, has long been a fan of wearing the designs of the late Gianni Versace, who founded the company famous for its baroque prints in 1978.

And in a chat with U.S. InStyle magazine at a celebrity-stuffed dinner party which included Iman, Tiffany Haddish, Karen Elson, Cynthia Erivo, Sutton Foster, Naomi Watts, Judith Light and Savannah Guthrie, the 59-year-old revealed designer Donatella Versace, who has overseen the brand since the tragic murder of her brother in 1997, would be one of his dream dinner dates.

“She and I are both fans of tan and blond,” he explained. “I told Donatella that in my South Beach days, I was known to wear head-to-toe Versace, but at this point in my life I might be able to sneak in a piece.”

The Versace deal stunned the fashion world, but Donatella reassured fans of the couture house that she will remain the company’s creative director, while her older brother Santo Versace and daughter Allegra Versace, 32, will become shareholders in Capri Holdings Limited, the new name for Michael Kors Holdings Limited.

The designer also shared his dream list of fantasy dinner guests during the interview, and insisted that his number one rule for throwing a successful soiree is to have a mix of guests of different ages, backgrounds, and professions.

“If I can turn Karen Elson and Judith Light into besties, that’s fantastic,” he continued. “At the same time, there should be something that unites the whole group – in this case, they are women who all have a strong sense of humour about the world.”

Naomi Watts will have a wardrobe stuffed with Italian designers for the upcoming 2018 Venice Film Festival.

For this year’s event, which kicks off on Wednesday (29Aug18), Naomi has joined the main jury, alongside Christoph Waltz and filmmaker Taika Waititi, with Guillermo del Toro presiding over the panel.

Working with stylist Jeanann Williams, who shares a daughter with Naomi’s brother Ben Watts, the Oscar nominee is gearing up to wow in Italy.

“Not the entire time, but there’s definitely some moments with Italian designers on the red carpet,” Jeanann told The Hollywood Reporter.

At the 2016 festival, Naomi had one of the standout style moments when she stepped out for the premiere of her film The Bleeder in a semi-sheer embroidered Elie Saab Haute Couture gown.

And for her packed film viewing schedule this year, the 49-year-old is going to be mixing high fashion with comfort.

“Her notes to me were definitely, ‘I want hats, sunglasses and flats.’ Expect to see a lot of the season’s best flats because she’s like, ‘Jeanann, I’m watching three or four films a day and I need to be comfortable on and off boats,'” the stylist commented. “You might see her in a beautiful Valentino gown in the day, but she’s going to wear it with a gladiator sandal or a sneaker.”

Sharing that her house is “flooded with couture” right now, Jeanann is making sure she pulls out all the stops when it comes to Naomi’s outfits for the next 12 days.

“Venice is always special to me in the respect that it was the first job we did together,” Jeanann smiled. “This is a huge one for us. She’s never been a juror.”
