Nick Jonas and Laurence Fishburne are joining forces for new spy thriller The Blacksmith.

The duo has signed on to star in Pierre Morel’s upcoming flick, which will see the actor/musician play weapons expert Wes ‘Blacksmith’ Loomis, who secretly works with the intelligence community.

The plot will follow Loomis as he is forced to go on the run when his undercover laboratory is destroyed and his colleagues are brutally murdered. Yet, with the help of his unique set of technological skills and young CIA analyst Noelle Hazlitt, he seeks out retired blacksmith Mather, played by Fishburne, to fight back.

Casting for the role of leading lady Hazlitt is currently underway, and production has been slated to start later this year, according to editors at Deadline.

Bosses at AGC Studios are reportedly hoping to create a new action franchise fronted by Jonas, following on from the huge success director Morel had with Liam Neeson in the Taken saga.

Ben Ripley is penning the script based on the graphic novel The Blacksmith written by Malik Evans and Richard Sparkman, which was first released in 2011.

Accordingly, executive producer Stuart Ford of AGC is excited to see Jonas front a modern take on the next generation of thrilling blockbusters.

“The Blacksmith provides a fresh, highly contemporary new take on the espionage genre and it’s exciting to pair an exhilarating young talent like Nick with seasoned heavyweights such as Pierre and Laurence,” he said in a statement. “We’ll soon be announcing an equally outstanding young female actor to play across from Nick and then we will have all the ingredients for a major new film franchise built around a very modern breed of action hero.”

Priyanka Chopra has been wearing Christian Louboutin heels with her loungewear to help her feel glamorous during the coronavirus lockdown.

In a new interview with InStyle magazine, the Quantico actress discussed her relationship with the iconic footwear designer and revealed that she’s taken to slipping on a red-soled pump to try and jazz up her usual daytime look.

“They look good with sweatpants!” she laughed. “If you want to feel a little bit more normal right now, you wear an amazing pair of Louboutins with your sweatshirt, put your hair down, add some red lipstick – and you’re dressed up for dinner.”

Chopra has been self-isolating at home with her husband Nick Jonas since March, as the Jonas Brother musician suffers from diabetes – one of the underlying health conditions that could increase his chances of contracting Covid-19.

Elsewhere in the chat, Chopra also recalled the first time she wore a pair of the Frenchman’s designs, and said she was inspired to buy a pair after watching an episode of Sex and the City, in which Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw showcased her extensive collection of the expensive shoes.

“I was like, ‘These are SJP’s!” the 37-year-old joked. “I was really excited about it.”

The former Bollywood star struck up a friendship with Louboutin, and the designer even created several custom pairs of shoes for her when she tied the knot with Jonas in late 2018.

“I did some things that held the ankle with a mid-heel,” the fashion star explained. “And then for emergencies I added some sets of sandals the colour of her skin with gold inside.”

Executives at John Varvatos have filed for bankruptcy protection amid a major restructure.

Founded by designer John Varvatos in 1999, the luxury menswear retailer offers a range of apparel, accessories, and fragrances, and over the years, has become known for featuring musicians and bands such as Nick Jonas, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Dave Matthews, The Roots, and Green Day in its campaigns.

However, bosses announced on Wednesday that they had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and as part of the restructure, would be selling the business to Lion Capital, an existing investor.

“The agreements with Lion represent a critical step in our process to transform our business to drive long-term, sustainable growth,” Varvatos said in a statement. “We have taken decisive action to respond to the challenges that all retailers face in the present environment and we remain extremely confident that our brand, celebrating its 20th year in business, will emerge even stronger. We have a passionate team, a fierce global consumer following and a commitment to our customers, whom we expect to serve for many years to come.”

According to the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, a Chapter 11 filing permits reorganisation under the bankruptcy laws. Typically, the John Varvatos boutiques would be able to remain open, but the coronavirus crisis has curtailed any such plans.

“Along with the rest of the luxury retail industry, John Varvatos Enterprises has been greatly impacted by the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic,” a spokesperson added. “In response to the rapid and exponential spread of Covid-19 as well as relevant governmental orders, the company’s leadership took difficult yet prudent steps to temporarily close all store locations and conserve cash. The restructuring and related agreements represent the effort to continue the company’s legacy and to reposition the reorganised entity for long-term success.”

Nick Jonas has claimed that Kevin Hart cried while filming Jumanji: The Next Level because it was so cold.

The 27-year-old reprised his role alongside Hart, Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson and Karen Gillan as video game avatars in the action comedy sequel, alongside new castmembers Danny DeVito and Danny Glover.

Filming took place in California, Atlanta, Hawaii and Canada, and it was while shooting scenes in “very intense and very cold” conditions in Calgary that Kevin experienced issues.

“Kevin Hart, having just come up on one of the snowmobiles – that was the only way to get to set – and the wind blowing in his face so much that he started to cry, and so off camera as we’re all trying to do our scene he’s just crying because of the wind,” the singer told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s obviously already funny but when you add that element to it, it gets even better.”

And Karen, who reprises her role as Ruby Roundhouse in the follow-up to 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, also revealed that putting up with the treacherous weather conditions in Calgary paid off when the film hit the big screens.

“At one point we could see a blizzard coming toward us and we were like, ‘Should we maybe get off this mountain?’ and they’re like, ‘We’ll just finish this scene and then we’ll get off the mountain,'” she said. “It was very extreme, but it’s so worth it when you watch the film.”

Nick Jonas’s latest fragrance launch was inspired by the “craziest year” of his life.

Over the last 12 months, the 27-year-old has married Priyanka Chopra and reunited with his brothers Joe and Kevin for the Jonas Brothers’ musical comeback.

His wedding to the Quantico star consisted of two official weddings and a week of celebrations, which Nick later confessed had been wild and extravagant, and he and his brothers also released their first single in six years, Sucker, which was subsequently followed by an album, Happiness Begins, and a U.S. tour.

Accordingly, Nick wanted to capture the chaos of his whirlwind year in JVxNJ Silver Edition, his third fragrance collaboration with designer John Varvatos.

“We’re in probably the craziest year of our lives, both together in the work we’re doing and separately,” he told Allure magazine. “Men these days are balancing a lot and always on the go. We wanted to have this feel like a little bit of a disconnect, a little fearless, but it also should give you energy. We tried to bottle that up in this thing.”

The singer is blown away by the feedback he’s received from fans of the fragrance, and loves that it gives them confidence.

“I aim to build something that becomes part of the fabric of people’s lives, just like how a favourite song can make you feel really confident and give you energy,” the star gushed.

Featuring notes of Italian lemon, green leaves, chromatic sage and amber, Varvatos stressed that while the scent is more masculine, it “transcends across gender”.

“We just think of scents that we love and want to wear. I think the world is much more open to that today,” he shared.

JVxNJ Silver Eau de Toilette, priced at $74 ($57), is available now.

Nick Jonas has confessed he sometimes steals face masks from his wife Priyanka Chopra.

The singer/actor wed the Quantico beauty in an opulent ceremony last December, and in a new interview with People, revealed that when he runs out of his skincare products, he doesn’t hesitate to use Priyanka’s.

“For sure. I don’t know who makes them, but (I take her) sheet masks. Then I’ll occasionally run out of facial moisturiser or something and I’ll use hers. I think she likes it. She likes to share. Or maybe she doesn’t. We’ll see,” Nick laughed.

The Jumanji: The Next Level star recently launched JVxNJ Silver Edition, his third fragrance collaboration with designer John Varvatos. And he said his famous older brothers – Joe and Kevin – were left out of the creative process as they don’t have any ideas when it comes to selecting aftershaves.

“My brothers have terrible opinions! They like the first one John and I made (JVxNJ) but I haven’t shown them this one yet,” the 27-year-old shared, adding that wife Priyanka loves the new fragrance, which features note of bergamot, sage, patchouli, and sandalwood.

“She likes that I am mixing it up,” he commented of the new, muskier scent. “I’m glad that she does because I’ll be wearing it quite a lot! When I am planning what I am wearing, since my closet has a lot of variety, a big piece of the puzzle is choosing what fragrance I want to wear too.”

JVXNJ Silver Edition is priced from $74 (£58).

John Varvatos has teamed up with Led Zeppelin on an exclusive capsule collection.

The menswear designer is no stranger to collaboration, having previously teamed up with the likes of Nick Jonas and Guns N’ Roses on limited-edition lines.

Now, Varvatos is celebrating the iconic English rock band with a range evoking the aesthetic of original members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and late drummer John Bonham.

“Working with Led Zeppelin on this collaboration is a dream come true. Their music and style has had a huge influence on me,” said Varvatos. “It’s been incredible developing this collection with the band and creating clothes that represent the roots of their style, but at the same time are extremely relevant today.”

An accompanying campaign was shot by photographer and director Mark Seliger and features model Miles McMillan.

The collection includes logo T-shirts, shirts, black jeans, a brown leather coat, a velvet jacket, and two scarves. There is also a velvet blazer with splatter print and an updated take on a vintage circa 1970s Led Zeppelin tour jacket.

With regards to the final collection, Page praised Varvatos’ vision for the garments.

“Having had the great pleasure to work with John personally on numerous collaborations in the past including my book, the Yardbirds, and the John Varvatos spring 2013 ad campaign with Gary Clark Jr. I’m pleased that there is now a Led Zeppelin collection. I was really impressed with how everything came out,” he shared, while Plant added: “The Varvatos style is unique – he’s out on his own… Above and beyond the crowd below.”

Led Zeppelin x John Varvatos is now available to purchase from the brand’s website and boutiques. Items are priced from $118 – $2,698 (£98 – £2,138).

Christian Louboutin thanked his “partner in crime” Diane von Furstenberg for her unwavering support as he accepted a top fashion honour from the Couture Council on Wednesday.

The 56-year-old Frenchman was given the Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion, which recognises his contributions to the fashion industry, in a ceremony at the Lincoln Center in New York.

In his emotional speech, Louboutin reflected on his career and thanked his longtime friend for her efforts in kickstarting his now-iconic footwear brand.

“She’s my godmother, she’s my sister, she’s my travel companion, she’s my oracle, she’s my partner in every crime,” he shared. “She has always been a radiant of support, emotionally and professionally.”

He recalled how he had even sold his first pair of shoes in America from Furstenberg’s office as he started out in fashion, and wanted to share the prestigious award with his friend of more than thirty years.

“I owe her so much, but more than that, I love her so much,” Louboutin gushed. “To me, this award is also a celebration of love and friendship, so I would like to share this award with her, my oldest friend, Diane von Furstenberg.”

The designer was introduced to the stage by his friend, actress Priyanka Chopra, who wore a pair of white Louboutin slingback shoes in honour of the Frenchman.

“These iconic shoes that women around the world have worn make… each one of us real women, everyday woman when we wear these shoes, when we own our first pair, we achieve such a sense of achievement, a sense of pride,” Chopra said. “It gives you the little extra oomph that you need.”

During his speech, Louboutin recalled how he first met the Quantico actress at a film festival in Morocco before she met her now-husband Nick Jonas, and the duo later met up in India, “where they got to share lots of great nights and dirty stories”.

Sophie Turner’s bespoke Louis Vuitton wedding gown for her second wedding to Joe Jonas took more than 350 hours to assemble.

The flower-embroidered tulle and silk gazar dress, which was designed by the label’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere, was also hand-sewn with 50,400 crystal beads and 50,400 white beads.

Sophie, 23, wore the breathtaking creation at the star-studded ceremony at the Chateau de Tourreau in Sarrians in the south of France, on 29 June, and recently shared a photo from the ceremony, showing the backless cap-sleeved gown in full.

More than 10 embroiderers worked for a staggering 75 hours on the gown’s 14 meters of embroidered tulle, which featured a digitally designed intricate floral pattern of more than 650,000 stitches, according to People.

The Game of Thrones actress also wore a veil, designed by Ghesquiere, which required 48 hours of embroidery, as the thread was painstakingly hand-cut between each flower, and the hem was hand-cut to create a natural finishing to match the sleeves.

Completing the look were white satin shoulder details on the cap sleeves and a draped belt.

Her new husband, his best men – brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas – and his groomsmen all wore custom Berluti suits designed by Kris Van Assche.

Sophie’s dress was a far cry from the silk Bevza jumpsuit she wore to her Las Vegas wedding to Joe back in May, which took place shortly after the Billboard Music Awards.

Sophie paired the $650 (£519) jumpsuit with a makeshift veil and gold Loeffler Randall mules, while her singer husband wore a dapper charcoal grey suit.

Priyanka Chopra only began to accept the changes in her body shape when she entered her early thirties.

The Bollywood icon and former Miss World may be one of the most beautiful women in the world, however, in a new interview for the August 2019 issue of U.S. Elle magazine, Priyanka confessed she has only recently begun to be at ease with the way she looks.

“It started happening to me in my early thirties; I got weirdly comfortable. I was like, ‘This is me – take it or leave it.’ I really wish I could’ve told my younger self, ‘Don’t be worried about your flaws,'” she commented.

And while Priyanka wants to look her best at every opportunity, but that doesn’t mean she thinks she can magically make herself look 15 years younger.

“I won’t deny, I care about the vanity. I’m in the business and I want to look the best that I can, but that’s the key term: the best that I can. I’m not 21; I’m not going to try and look it! My body is changing, my body looks different,” the 36-year-old smiled.

Since winning Miss World in 2000, Priyanka has gone on to become one of Bollywood’s highest-paid figures and was the first Indian actress in TV history to lead a U.S. prime time network show – ABC’s thriller Quantico. She is also teaming with friend and fellow actress Mindy Kaling on an as-yet-untitled wedding comedy project.

But in spite of her hectic schedule, workaholic Priyanka is now working on how to balance her life.

“My head was completely in the game… For almost 15 years of my life, that was it,” she said.

It was after meeting husband Nick Jonas, and being welcomed into the Jonas family by her sisters-in-law – Danielle Jonas, who is married to Kevin, and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who recently wed Joe – that prompted the brunette beauty to alter her work/life balance.

“I’ve never had a sister, so it’s really nice to have Danielle and Sophie… Sophie is super talented, super funny and we have the most fun when we go out together. She’s incredible,” the Isn’t It Romantic star gushed.
