Nicole Kidman’s seven-year-old daughter Faith was once left “mortified” when her film star mum turned up at the school gates in gym gear.

Counting the likes of Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld and Michael Kors as friends, the Australian star is one of the world’s most stylish women and always stuns when stepping out for showbiz events.

It’s a different story at home, however, as the 51-year-old loves nothing more than relaxing in her sweats.

“My mum always said, ‘Never wear sweatpants outside the house.’ I’ve broken that rule, but I try not to,” she laughed to British magazine Stylist. “My daughters are real girly girls and part of the rules for picking them up from school is that I wear a dress. I showed up once in workout stuff and my youngest was mortified.”

She also has 10-year-old daughter Sunday with husband Keith Urban, as well as adopted children Isabella, 25, and 23-year-old Connor with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Nicole is currently busy working on numerous projects, including a biographical film about Fox News boss Roger Ailes, drama The Goldfinch and the second season of Big Little Lies, where she’ll reprise her Emmy and Golden Globe-winning role of abused wife Celeste.

As the face of Omega watches, she’s also promoting the brand’s Constellation Manhattan timepiece, and is adamant that a great watch makes all the difference to an outfit.

“Good skin is so important for good style because you can pull your hair back, put on some blush and lip gloss and that’s done,” she said of her style essentials. “I’m a huge fan of a black blazer with a white shirt and I love men’s trousers with a T-shirt and gorgeous watch.”

Kaia Gerber ‘upset’ she can’t fit Cindy Crawford’s shoes

Kaia Gerber finds it “upsetting” that she can’t fit into her mother Cindy Crawford’s shoes.

The rising fashion star, who is the daughter of the veteran supermodel and Rande Gerber, is fast becoming one of the most sought-after names in the business, having landed campaigns for the likes of Versace, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs.

While Kaia undoubtedly has a wardrobe packed full of gorgeous garments and accessories, she actually loves nothing more than raiding her mum’s closet and only wishes that she could wear her shoes too.

“I definitely take a lot of her vintage pieces because those are the most iconic to me,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “We’re not the same shoe size which is really upsetting to me because I thought that I could steal all of her shoes!”

One other item Kaia, 16, likes to borrow from her mother are her watches, with 52-year-old Cindy building up quite a collection of Omega designs, having acted as a brand ambassador for the Swiss company for the past 20 years. But as Kaia was named as the face of Omega’s new Tresor line earlier this month (May18), she will soon have her own designs to choose from.

“Because I’ve grown up with the Omega family I’ve always felt comfortable around them – they always make sure that everything runs smoothly so I just put my trust in them. I know that everything’s going to be okay,” the brunette beauty smiled.

Meanwhile, Cindy recently told Town & Country magazine that she is currently keeping a close eye over Kaia and her son Presley, 18, when it comes to their modelling work.

Though she wants to empower them to be in charge of their own careers, she is also very protective.

“As far as being a mother of two young people going into fashion, of course I worry, but let’s be honest, my kids are blessed in that business because they aren’t coming in as unknowns,” she explained. “People will know I will come after them if they mess with my kids.”

Kaia Gerber has landed another major fashion campaign after she was unveiled as the face of Omega’s new Tresor collection on Wednesday (02May18).

Cindy Crawford’s daughter was announced as the brand’s new ambassador at a launch in Berlin, Germany, attended by the likes of fellow model Toni Garrn and actress Hannah Herzsprung.

“Like a lot of young women of my generation, I love the vintage look…,” Kaia says. “As a model I get to wear a lot of beautiful clothes, but I’m most comfortable in jeans and sneakers and what I love about these watches is how they go so well with both looks.”

The 16-year-old follows in the footsteps of her veteran mother, who has had an ongoing partnership with the Swiss watch company for over 20 years. Last year (17), Kaia’s brother Presley was also selected to represent “the next generation of watch fans” by the brand, and the entire clain – including father Rande Gerber – went on to star in Omega’s first family campaign.

In-demand Kaia was also recently snapped up by fashion bosses at Saint Laurent for their upcoming Fall campaign. A new video ad features her modelling the brand’s latest designs two months after Kaia stunned on the Saint Laurent runway in February (18).

Meanwhile, Cindy, who manages the teen and her brother, recently told the May issue of Town & Country Magazine she’s grooming her kids to take control of their own modelling careers, stating, “Eventually I want to empower them to be in charge of their own careers, but they’re not ready for that yet. Right now they’re mostly, ‘Mum, just tell me what to do’.”

And she warned that anyone who takes advantage of her kids will have her to answer to.

“As far as being a mother of two young people going into fashion, of course I worry, but let’s be honest, my kids are blessed in that business because they aren’t coming in as unknowns,” she explained. “People will know I will come after them if they mess with my kids.”

Cindy Crawford is not trying to recreate her catwalk career with her recent fashion work.

Supermodel Cindy has been part of the style scene since bursting on it in the ’80s, and has worked with everyone from Vogue to Versace.

Despite toying with the idea of retirement when she turned 50 in 2016, Cindy made a return to form when she walked for Donatella Versace’s tribute show to her late brother Gianni during Milan Fashion Week in October (17).

However, those hoping for her to become a runway regular again will be sorely disappointed.

“I’m not trying to recreate my catwalk career. I loved doing it when I did it, but my life has moved on. I’m not holding on to trying to be on the runway,” Cindy mused to Prestige magazine.

“It was fun to revisit that and reconnect with so many people. And it was especially exciting because my daughter (16-year-old Kaia Gerber) was also in the show. I don’t think that’s very normal, for mother and daughter to be in the same show.”

It’s not the first time Cindy has worked with her model daughter though; the 51-year-old beauty was joined by Kaia, son Presley and husband Rande Gerber for an Omega campaign last year, marking the first time the watch brand had tapped a family to front its adverts.

“(The thing I value most in life is) All of those times, with my husband, daughter and my son, (and) our dog… real life. Those are the most important. I’m also very grateful, because when Omega signed me I was a 26-year-old model on the cover of Vogue, and they’ve let me grow up. They don’t expect me still to be that, they’ve let me evolve as a woman,” she smiled of her latest work with Omega.
