Jennifer Lopez has channelled Hollywood glamour for Guess’ latest campaign.

The superstar previously fronted the marketing imagery for the fashion brand’s denim line back in 2017 and has also recently landed modelling gigs for the likes of Versace and Coach.

Now, Jennifer is returning to the Guess family as the face of the label’s spring 2020 campaign, with the photos showing her posing in a number of sexy outfits against the backdrop of Santa Monica, California.

“Whenever I do a collaboration, I always think of a character that I can play and be and we had a lot of fun doing that with this campaign,” she explained. “The vibe this time was a mix between an Italian film star from the ’60s, mixed with Madonna from the ’80s, mixed with Sophia Loren. It’s so much fun to get into the character and to make that happen. The clothes and setting of the shoot really worked well together to make this campaign come to life.”

The photoshoot was helmed by photographer Tatiana Gerusova and art directed by Guess’ chief creative officer, Paul Marciano. One image shows Jennifer posing in a lime green belted dress, while another depicts her wearing a purple tropical print dress in front of a palm tree. The 50-year-old also models a summery white outfit and a chic off-white three-piece suit.

Accordingly, Paul noted that he was thrilled with the final result.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jennifer back for a second campaign with Guess and Marciano,” he commented. “Jennifer continues to push boundaries in the music, fashion, and film industries and represents everything a Guess Girl is – confident, sensual and adventurous. This campaign shines a spotlight on Jennifer’s natural beauty and showcases exactly why she is celebrated as a true icon.”

Charlotte McKinney has been tapped as the face of Guess’ spring/summer 2019 swimwear line.

The model/actress was first selected to appear in a Guess campaign back in 2014, when she was discovered by bosses at the American clothing brand on social media.

Charlotte has since gone on to front clothing and lingerie imagery for Guess and is now wowing in the newly unveiled swimwear capsule entitled Icon, which she helped to create.

“It’s been such an honour to create, design and shoot for the iconic brand that we know as Guess. I owe a lot of my career success to Guess, it was my first big modelling job and a truly unforgettable experience,” she said. “It’s such a beautiful feeling to be part of the Guess family, to have shot several campaigns over the years, and now to create my own capsule collection is a dream come true.”

The swimwear line is comprised of 12 different “highly feminine” designs, with the pieces featuring leopard, gingham, and polka dot prints, as well as graphic stripes.

Based around a red, black and white colour palette, the beachwear is available in a range of cuts, including ’80s-inspired one-piece swimsuits, halter bikini tops and string briefs.

For the campaign, Charlotte was photographed by Derek Kettela on the sunny beaches of California, with controversial art director and Guess co-founder Paul Marciano, who has been accused of sexual harassment by former Guess girl Kate Upton, thrilled with the end result.

“Watching Charlotte’s international stardom rapidly grow since her first campaign with appearances in music videos, movies and on TV, has been an enjoyable journey to follow. Since discovering Charlotte and welcoming her into the Guess family, she has been featured in several swimwear and lingerie campaigns with Guess. We are thrilled to welcome her back for another campaign with Guess and launch her first swimwear capsule,” he said.

The Icon capsule collection will be available to purchase from the beginning of March (19).

In addition to her gig with Guess, Charlotte also has a string of Hollywood projects lined-up, including a part in upcoming supernatural horror film Fantasy Island alongside Michael Pena and Lucy Hale.

Paul Marciano is remaining as Guess’ chief creative officer (CCO) as the company ushers in a new chief executive officer.

Carlos Alberini is replacing Victor Herrero as CEO, with the latter at the helm of the brand when Kate Upton levelled sexual harassment claims at co-founder Marciano in February 2018.

Alberini was formerly Guess’ president and chief operating officer between 2000 and 2010. He left to join Restoration Hardware as co-CEO until 2014 and went on to be appointed chairman and CEO of Lucky Brand.

Maurice Marciano, Paul’s brother, will be working as interim CEO during the transition. He shared his joy at Alberini rejoining the team.

“I am very excited to have Carlos coming back as CEO at Guess. He was instrumental in building the international business in Europe and Asia during his 10-year tenure with the company,” he said in a statement.

Company executives also stated that Marciano has agreed to remain as CCO at the request of the board, and his employment will be “at will”.

While Marciano remained on the board throughout the investigation into sexual misconduct claims, his brother took over as chairman.

Guess set up a special committee in the wake of Upton’s allegations, which also saw more women step forward to accuse the fashion boss of similar activity, and concluded that it would pay out $500,000 (£380,000) in settlements to five individuals.

In the model’s claims, which were published in TIME magazine, the 26-year-old recalled how the designer had groped her breasts during a 2010 meeting.

“(He) started feeling them – playing with them actually. After I pushed him away, he said, ‘I’m making sure they’re real,'” she alleged, adding Marciano went on to grab her thighs and tried to kiss her face and neck, and then attempted to walk her to her hotel room, but a photographer stepped in.

In response, executives from the American brand released a statement in which they stated that Marciano “exercised poor judgment”.

Natalia Vodianova: ‘It would have been too risky to make me a #MeToo victim’

Natalia Vodianova wonders whether her career success is the reason she avoided sexual harassment in the fashion industry.

The supermodel has covered numerous global magazines, walked the runway for the world’s most prestigious brands, and even won several awards for her work as a philanthropist.

Unlike other models – such as Kate Upton, who accused Guess co-founder Paul Marciano of sexual harassment earlier this year (18) – Natalia claims she has never been a victim of sexual misconduct, and believes her good name in the industry may have protected her.

“It happens a lot. I think it’s maybe because I was so high up that I was too much of a risk to make a victim,” the 36-year-old pondered in an interview with Britain’s Channel 4. “But it’s fantastic that this is happening. It’s fantastic that women are having more freedom to voice what happened to them and giving platform to other women to not tolerate this kind of abuse.

“I hear all these stories, they are horrific and it’s incredible this movement has not happened earlier. It’s really unbelievable to me. I don’t know how I escaped it but it’s somehow never touched me.”

The Russian fashion icon has also became an important part of current affairs in her home nation, having previously been tapped as an ambassador of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and most recently as the ambassador of her native city Nizhny Novgorod during this year’s FIFA World Cup.

Natalia believes that hosting the event will bring many benefits to her home country, and questions those that claim Russia should not have been given the honour on account of its controversial political system.

“Well (Russian President Vladimir Putin’s) very loved in the country and yes he’s a very strong politician and he’s very defensive of Russia,” she said. “But I feel much safer walking alone at night in Moscow than I feel in Paris. And this is the reality. I absolutely do.”

Paul Marciano resigns at Guess amid sexual misconduct scandal

Fashion mogul Paul Marciano has resigned as the executive chairman at Guess following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Stars like Kate Upton took aim at Marciano for his behaviour around models in the wake of the #MeToo and Time’s Up anti-harassment movements, and now Guess bosses have paid out settlements to multiple women who have accused him of inappropriate behaviour.

A statement from Guess officials, obtained by The Blast, reads: “Mr. Marciano exercised poor judgment in his communications with models and photographers and in placing himself in situations in which plausible allegations of improper conduct could, and did, arise.”

Supermodel Upton recently took to Instagram to slam Guess chiefs for attempting to pull off a “stunt” in their sexual misconduct investigation into her allegations against Marciano.

She accused company co-founder Marciano of harassment and assault, claiming he groped her breasts and made inappropriate comments to her during meetings and photoshoots in 2010 and 2011.

An internal investigation was launched by the company in February (18), with Guess heads forming a special committee to conduct a formal review into the matter, but The Layover actress is convinced the inquiry is bogus, suggesting bosses were just doing it to save face.

“I just learned that Guess hired Paul Marciano’s PERSONAL lawyer to run their internal ‘investigation’,” Upton wrote in a screenshot note on Twitter on 28 February (18). “I’m truly disheartened to learn that Guess is treating this abuse of power and sexual misconduct (to multiple women) in such a manner.”

Upton called the investigation a “stunt” while announcing she has refused to participate as a witness in the inquiry.

“Until Guess makes a commitment to conduct an unbiased investigation, I have declined to participate,” she declared. “I look forward to participating if and when Guess retains a truly independent firm to run the entire investigation.”

Marciano previously denied all claims of sexual misconduct against him.

Kate Upton has taken to Instagram to slam Guess chiefs for attempting to pull off a “stunt” in their sexual misconduct investigation into her claims against Paul Marciano.

The model-and-actress accused company co-founder Marciano of harassment and assault, claiming he groped her breasts and made inappropriate comments to her during meetings and photoshoots in 2010 and 2011.

An internal investigation was launched by the company last month (Feb18) to research the allegations, with chiefs forming a special committee to conduct a formal review into the matter, but The Layover actress is convinced the inquiry is bogus, suggesting bosses are just doing it to save face.

“I just learned that Guess hired Paul Marciano’s PERSONAL lawyer to run their internal ‘investigation’,” Upton wrote in a screenshot note on Twitter on Wednesday (28Feb18). “I’m truly disheartened to learn that Guess is treating this abuse of power and sexual misconduct (to multiple women) in such a manner.”

Upton called the investigation a “stunt” while announcing she has refused to participate as a witness in the inquiry.

“Until Guess makes a commitment to conduct an unbiased investigation, I have declined to participate,” she declared, noting she came forward with her allegations in a bid to help generate “true change” around sexual misconduct claims and the way they are addressed in the fashion industry.

“I look forward to participating if and when Guess retains a truly independent firm to run the entire investigation,” she added.

Marciano has stepped aside from the fashion house as investigators conduct their review, announcing in a statement last month he is willing to co-operate with the special committee members.

“I have pledged my full co-operation to the company, and I have the utmost confidence in our chief executive officer, Victor Herrero, to continue leading the company during this time,” he said in a statement.

Marciano has denied all claims of sexual misconduct against him.

Guess co-founder Paul Marciano is stepping aside from the fashion house amid an investigation into sexual misconduct claims against him.

Marciano has denied accusations of groping and inappropriate behaviour made by model Kate Upton, but he has now announced he is giving up his duties at the company until an internal investigation is completed.

“I have pledged my full cooperation to the company, and I have the utmost confidence in our chief executive officer, Victor Herrero, to continue leading the company during this time,” he said in a statement.

Earlier this month (Feb18), it was reported that bosses at the company formed a special committee to investigate the allegations.

“As a leader in the fashion industry, Guess?, Inc. takes seriously any allegation of sexual harassment,” a statement obtained by The Blast at the time read. “The company does not condone such misconduct in any form.

“The company is committed to completing an extensive and impartial investigation into all of the facts. On February 7, 2018, the Board of Directors formed a Special Committee comprised of two independent directors to oversee an ongoing investigation into recent allegations of improper conduct by Paul Marciano. Mr. Marciano adamantly denies the allegations.”

Upton, who was once the face of Marciano’s brand, first spoke out about the fashion mogul on Instagram last month, accusing him of “using his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass” women.

She subsequently expanded on her story in a piece for TIME magazine, during which she accused the creative director of groping her breasts and making inappropriate comments about her during meetings and photoshoots in 2010 and 2011.

Upton has yet to comment on the latest news.

Kate Upton has detailed Guess co-founder Paul Marciano’s alleged misconduct against her.

The model, who was once the face of Marciano’s brand, shared her concerns about the fashion mogul on Instagram late last month (Jan18), accusing him of “using his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass” women – claims that he has vehemently denied.

Upton did not make any specific allegations in her initial post, but later reiterated her claims on Twitter, and expanded on her story in a piece for TIME magazine published on Wednesday (07Feb18), where she alleged the designer groped her breasts during a 2010 meeting, and stated, “(He) started feeling them – playing with them actually. After I pushed him away, he said, ‘I’m making sure they’re real.'”

She then claimed Marciano grabbed her thighs and tried to kiss her face and neck, and alleged he tried to walk her to her hotel room, but a photographer stepped in.

The 25-year-old also claimed that she and the protective snapper were fired from the gig the next day. Then, in May 2011, Marciano allegedly forced her off a photoshoot, and said, “Get that fat pig off my set.”

Marciano has claimed Upton was hungover and unprofessional on that final project, with the publication of the article coming days after he accused her of “maliciously and falsely” making claims in a bid to damage his company.

He has denied he sexually harassed anyone and recently issued a statement to TMZ.com alleging Upton was planning to accuse him of groping her.

“I am told that she has been working with others for some time to defame me and will claim that I groped her among other things,” he said, going on to maintain that he has never touched Upton or acted inappropriately toward her.

In her article, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model also explained that she was tired of having to “laugh off” the misconduct of fashion bosses and photographers in the industry.

“I’m sick of being expected to laugh off these aggressive advances and accept the power imbalances that exist,” she sighed. “I’m sick of being expected to endure all of this while being polite and professional through it all.”

Guess co-founder Paul Marciano has accused Kate Upton of “maliciously and falsely” planning to claim that he groped her in a bid to damage his brand.

The model, who was once the face of Marciano’s clothing brand, shared her concerns about the fashion mogul on Instagram last Tuesday (30Jan18), accusing him of “using his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women”.

Marciano denies he sexually harassed anyone and has now issued a statement to TMZ.com alleging Upton is planning to accuse him of groping her.

“I am told that she has been working with others for some time to defame me and will claim that I groped her among other things,” he said, before going on to accuse the 25-year-old of attempting to derail last week’s launch of Guess’ new campaign featuring Jennifer Lopez. “She levelled this malicious and false accusation only hours before a gala event at our headquarters in Los Angeles unveiling a new Guess campaign.”

Shares in the company fell by almost 20 per cent after the model posted her claims.

Upton did not make any specific allegations, but later reiterated her claims on Twitter and told a TMZ.com reporter she was “excited” to tell her story in due course.

Lopez, who attended the launch of her spring Guess campaign hours after the allegations became public, has said she supports any investigation into alleged inappropriate behaviour.

Bosses at the brand have said they will investigate Upton’s allegations once she outlines them in full. Editors at The Business of Fashion website report that Guess executives have previously investigated two harassment complaints made against Marciano but cleared him on both occasions.

Sources close to the fashion mogul have told TMZ that he believes Upton’s remarks are due to Guess bosses’ decision to drop her as a model after a photoshoot ended badly. Upton is yet to respond to Marciano’s claim she is orchestrating a smear campaign.

Kate Upton has accused Guess co-founder Paul Marciano of “sexual and emotional” harassment.

The 25-year-old model, who was once the face of the clothing brand, took to Twitter on Wednesday (31Jan18) to share her concerns about Marciano, writing: “It’s disappointing that such an iconic women’s brand @GUESS is still empowering Paul Marciano as their creative director #metoo.”

She then took a screengrab of the tweet and shared it on her Instagram page, alongside the caption: “He shouldn’t be allowed to use his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women #metoo.”

Kate’s husband Justin Verlander, who she married in November (17), also retweeted the message.

The hashtag #metoo has become a way for women to reveal themselves as a victim of sexual harassment in the wake of the scandal sweeping Hollywood, stemming from the accusations against power players such as Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey.

Marciano, who co-founded Guess in 1981 and has been creative director of the brand since 2015, has yet to respond to Kate’s social media posts.

Kate rose to fame when she appeared in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and soon became an Internet sensation after a 2011 YouTube video showing her dancing in the stands of a Los Angeles Clippers game garnered millions of views.

She landed the coveted Sports Illustrated cover the following year and has since appeared on the covers of American Vogue, Vanity Fair, CR Fashion Book and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as becoming the face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics in 2014.

Kate began a crossover into acting, first appearing in 2011’s Tower Heist and then in 2012’s The Three Stooges. More significant parts came in 2014’s The Other Woman, alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, and road trip comedy The Layover, which was directed by William H. Macy and hit cinemas last year (17).
