Jessica Alba puts together detailed mood boards for each of her press tour looks.
The actress/entrepreneur always pulls out all of the stops when stepping out on the red carpet, and has most recently been appearing on the circuit to promote her TV show L.A.’s Finest, in which she stars opposite Gabrielle Union.
Even though doing interviews and press conferences can mean very long days, Jessica has now shared that she puts a lot of effort into her outfits for such events.
“Frankly, doing the 14, 16, and 18 hours days and the 12 hours of press is not very glamorous, but when I go on press tours, for me, it’s a time to dress up and (experience) the fantasy, glamorous side of entertainment,” she told Elle.com. “I’ll put together a Pinterest board of movie stars who inspire me. I’ll put together muses and fashions of that time and then hair and make-up and then I’ll collaborate with the make-up artists and the hairdresser to bring it to life.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Jessica reflected on some of her looks for big events, and noted that she did her own styling and make-up during the early days of her career.
The mother-of-three pinpointed a lack of eyebrow pencil and the use of lime green eyeshadow in the late 1990s and early 2000s as key errors, while she explained that her Marilyn Monroe-inspired bright blonde makeover in the mid-2000s was due to hair damage.
“I could have done better! You know what happened is my hair was so blonde, and it was so broken that I cut it all off to start all over. I should’ve just had my tape-ins. I felt like with the blonde it looked better long than short on me-especially with that baby face,” the 38-year-old smiled.
