Elizabeth Banks has recalled how she once broke the zipper on her dress just minutes before she was due to arrive at a movie premiere.
In a recent throwback post uploaded to Instagram, the actress/filmmaker opened up about how she suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while on the way to a screening of Lee Daniels’s drama Precious at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009.
Sharing a snap of her in a silver Zac Posen dress, Elizabeth told her 3.2 million followers that the zip on the back of the gown popped open moments before stepping out of the car with her publicist Jessica Kolstad.
“The zipper popped in the car. I’m sure it was my a*s and not the dress. @imajesspot miraculously got the top to hold, we made it a ‘keyhole’ but you can tell from my face and body I am trying to move as little as possible because the zipper was just opening the whole time I walked,” the 46-year-old wrote alongside the snaps, which included a shot of the back of her broken dress. “It busted totally open as soon as I sat in the theatre, exposing top crack so I wore my husband’s tux jacket the rest of the night.”
Eva Longoria, who inspired the Pitch Perfect 2 director to share her embarrassing wardrobe blunder, commented on the post: “We’ve all been there!!!”
While Julianne Moore showed her support by simply leaving a flame emoji.

Lee Daniels has teased plans to make a film featuring a gay superhero.
The filmmaker, who is openly gay, is one of Hollywood’s most successful names, having directed movies such as Precious and The Butler, and co-created popular television shows such as Empire and Star.
Now, it appears Daniels is turning his attention to tackling a whole new project, as he recently took to Instagram to upload a video of himself with online sensation Super B**ch, also known as Dremon Cooper.
“Do you all remember maybe 10, 12 years ago I said my dream was to make a gay superhero film?” Daniels asked. “Dreams do come true. And I found my superhero. America, world, get ready.”
While Cooper commented: “It’s about to happen, Super B**ch is here with the Lee Daniels… I’m about to give y’all a combo.”
In the accompanying caption for the clip, Daniels explained that his gay superhero project would not be his next film but is “in the pipeline”.
Cooper, who is known for his YouTube videos in which he wears bright pink high heel boots as he pretends to fight crime by cartwheeling and flipping in public spaces, also shared the announcement on his Instagram page, and wrote, “Dreams really do come true!! I had the pleasure of meeting the one and only @theoriginalbigdaddy. You’re an amazing man filled with great ideas. I can wait to work with you!”
Representation for the LGBTQ community in superhero films has been the topic of much discussion in recent years, and many fans were quick to praise the makers of Spider-Man: Far From Home, after the newly unveiled trailer revealed that the cast included two openly transgender actors.
At present, Daniels is also attached to make Terms of Endearment, a remake of the 1983 film of the same name which explored the complex relationship between a mother and her dying daughter.

Gabourey Sidibe is fighting for more plus-size visibility.
The American actress was a keynote speaker at The Curvy Con last week (ends 09Sep18) in New York, an event which offered a different take on style during the city’s Fashion Week.
Talking to Teen Vogue before she went on stage to deliver her talk, the Precious actress revealed designers often refuse to give her clothes because she’s “too fat”.
She also said that she jumped at the chance to be part of the 2018 Curvy Con conversation.
“Even though we are moving towards more visibility for plus-size people, there is a lot (of) pushback,” she explained. “So it’s important to keep fighting (and) to keep being visible until the conversation changes and (it) is no longer about our bodies because I’m not my body. I’m a whole person.”
Earlier this year, Gabourey opened about how she struggles with choosing an outfit for red carpet events because she fears what people will say about her clothes.
Speaking at the MAKERS conference in Hollywood in February, the 35-year-old Empire star said no matter what she wears, people will slate her on social media.
“It’s really hard to get dressed up for award shows when I know I’ll get made fun of because of my weight,” she sighed. “If I wear purple, somebody will call me Barney (the dinosaur from children’s show Barney & Friends). If I wear white, a frozen turkey. If I wear red, a pitcher of Kool-Aid. These are actual tweets I’ve gotten.”

Lee Daniels is reportedly in talks to direct a biopic about jazz icon Billie Holiday.
The filmmaker, known for producing Monster’s Ball and directing movies such as The Butler and Precious, which was nominated for two Oscars, has been focused on making TV shows Empire and Star in recent years.
Now, it appears Daniels is about to return to Hollywood to make a major feature film, with Variety reporting that he is in negotiations to make a movie about the life of Holiday.
Born Eleanora Fagan, the American singer had a seminal influence on jazz music and was known for her vocal delivery and improvisational skills. She garnered mainstream success in the 1930s and 1940s, but by the 1950s her bad health, coupled with a string of abusive relationships as well as drug and alcohol abuse, caused her voice to falter and she died of cirrhosis in 1959.
The film is set to be produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum, with playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, a Pulitzer Prize-winner for her 2001 drama Topdog/Underdog, taking care of the script. Mark Bomback has been developing the film and will act as an executive producer.
Insiders have told Variety that singer-songwriter Andra Day is the producer’s top pick to play Holiday, while Get Out star Lakeith Stanfield is in the running to take on the male lead. However, no casting details have been confirmed.
The project has not yet been picked up by a studio, but should it come together, it won’t be the first time Holiday’s story has been depicted on the silver screen. She was portrayed by Diana Ross in 1972 film Lady Sings the Blues, and was the primary character in the play, and later film, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill.
Aside from working on the fifth season of Empire, Daniels has also been attached to direct a remake of the 1983 film Terms of Endearment.

Actress Mo’Nique is celebrating after discovering she weighs under 200 pounds (90.7 kilograms) for the first time in over 33 years.
The Oscar-winning Precious star took to Instagram on Thursday (29Mar18) to share a video, in which she discussed her slim-down transformation.
“I said that I would share this journey with y’all, the weightloss and getting healthy,” she said in the post. “And today when I got on the scale… since I was 17 years old, I’ve been over 200 pounds. Today was the first time in my adult life that I’ve been under 200 pounds. So I wanted to let y’all know it’s possible. We can do it and we can get there.”
The 50-year-old also explained she achieved the milestone the healthy way.
“For me it was with no surgery, no pre-packaged foods, not listening to no spokespeople saying, ‘It’s easy, you can do it…’ It was just putting in the work and not giving up on me,” she revealed.
In recent months, the comedienne has been sharing social media updates on her progress and sharing insights into her diet and exercise regime, revealing she has been dancing the pounds away with trainer Dwight Holt Jr. – and mostly eating raw foods.
“I want to share with y’all the goodness that you can eat and still drop this weight,” she said on the photo sharing site. “It’s called raw foods, it’s called dancing your pounds off. It’s called giving yourself the chance to live the best life you can live. Thank you all for sharing my journey.”
