Rob Lowe has claimed his Christmas movie beat Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman in views on Netflix.

In a Holiday in the Wild, the actor played a pilot who helps heartbroken divorcee Kate, portrayed by Sex and the City star Kristin Davis, to nurse a baby elephant back to health in Africa.

The festive romantic flick, which was released on 1 November, became a huge hit for the streaming service, and now Lowe has alleged that it has overtaken Scorsese’s critically-acclaimed gangster epic in views.

“I just did a movie for Netflix, it was the number one movie that they have,” he told reporters at the Television Critics Association while promoting his new Fox show, 9-1-1: Lone Star. “It was a stupid Christmas elephant movie. Take that Martin Scorsese. They were like, ‘Don’t tell anybody.'”

And when quizzed about filming locations, Lowe said he doesn’t mind where he works “as long as it’s with people I like, people I like to work with and are telling good stories.”

“Anyway, I will work wherever the opportunities come from,” the 55-year-old quipped.

Back in December, Netflix bosses revealed that The Irishman, which has a runtime of three-and-a-half-hours, had been streamed by over 26 million accounts in seven days.

“My friends, I’ve got some news from the big guy at the top: The Irishman was watched by 26,404,081 accounts globally – within its first seven days on Netflix,” the official Twitter account for the streaming service revealed.

The Irishman and Holiday in the Wild are both currently streaming on Netflix.

Coach creative director Stuart Vevers has paid homage to late artist Richard Bernstein with his spring 2020 collection.

For the new season, Vevers and his team have partnered with the estate of Bernstein, who was the artist behind Interview magazine’s distinctive illustrated covers for almost 20 years, to use a selection of his portraits on a range of tops.

And during his spring/summer 2020 catwalk presentation as part of New York Fashion Week on Tuesday evening, models were seen wearing Bernstein’s portraits of Michael J. Fox, Barbra Streisand, and Rob Lowe – Vever’s idols growing up – on vest tops, T-shirts, jumpers, and a dress.

The show, which took place on the High Line, served as a nod to ’80s New York and celebrated “the electric attitude of the New Wave”. It featured 78 bags, each one brought out of the archives from one of the label’s 78 years and remastered.

“The brand’s heritage graphically subverted with vibrant colour, the electric attitude of New Wave – and today’s new New Wave,” said a Coach spokesperson. “The energetic pop illustrations of Richard Bernstein playfully juxtaposed with Coach’s strong, straightforward leather goods heritage. A purposeful synthesis of stripped-back and upbeat. This vivid, reimagined past, as dynamic as the city it’s made for.”

Vevers’s show opened with a model rocking a cherry red leather trench coat with flat black sandals, and the collection heavily featured leather designs, including red, brown and green trousers, pink and dark red skirts, black and green jackets and trench coats in a variety of hues.

The models also sported patterned shirts and a range of knitwear, including a yellow sleeveless vest with a martini glass pattern, and a green jumper featuring a large prawn motif.

The catwalk stars, which included Kaia Gerber, Adut Akech, and Abby Champion mostly wore flat shoes – wide colourful sandals, high-top sneakers with a trio of straps, or pointed flat pumps.

Celebrities on the front row included Coach ambassador Michael B. Jordan, Girls actress Jemima Kirke, and rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Margot Robbie wowed in a white dress at the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night.

Some of the film industry’s biggest stars turned out for the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, which focuses on the story of TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), as they set out to make names for themselves in the film industry at the time of the Charles Manson murders in Los Angeles in 1969.

Australian actress Margot portrays Sharon Tate in the movie, and for the star-studded event, she opted for a flowing white Chanel number with a deep-V neckline, flowing sleeves and floor-sweeping skirt.

Referencing the time period of the film, the 29-year-old’s hairstylist Bryce Scarlett styled her blonde locks into soft curls, while her make-up artist Pati Dubroff opted for a “hot summer ’70s vibe,” and used Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Make-up Base and the Duo Bronze et Lumiere Clair palette to achieve her bronzed complexion.

Margot accessorised her ensemble with gold chandelier earring and a gold purse.

Meanwhile, Leonardo and Brad both looked handsome in sharp suits, and filmmaker Quentin chose a black suit with a velvet blazer.

Rumer Willis, who plays Joanna Pettet, rocked a beautiful white Grecian gown from Ong-Oaj Pairam and high heels from Christian Louboutin, and was supported by her sisters Scout and Tallulah.

Margaret Qualley, who takes on the part of Pussycat in the film, made it a family affair too, stopping to pose in her sheer Prada dress alongside her father Paul Qualley and sister Rainey.

Rising star Austin Butler, who plays Charles “Tex” Watson, was joined by his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, who looked stunning in a black Armani gown, with other castmembers to turn out for the bash included Timothy Olyphant, Rebecca Gayheart, Bruce Dern, and Zoe Bell.

Additionally, celebrities such as Adriana Lima, Rob Lowe, Travis Scott, Snoop Dogg, Pierce Brosnan, Britney Spears, Robin Thicke, John Stamos, Chris Hemsworth, and Sofia Vergara got dressed to the nines for the night as well.

Actor Dacre Montgomery injected his own style preferences into his Stranger Things’ character Billy Hargrove.

The star of the ’80s-set science fiction hit has enjoyed the costume design process and putting together looks from the decade.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have a stylish character,” he told InStyle ahead of the season three premiere.

The Australian also had input when it came to his wardrobe.

“I wear the same Saint Christopher necklace around my neck, and we got that idea (from me) coming into the wardrobe department – they had a necklace from the 1980s that just replaced my own,” the 24-year-old explained. “And I usually wear a tank top under my shirts like Billy does. But yeah, everything down to the earring and leather jacket – he’s very stylish.”

Montgomery also had the privilege of being part of the Stranger Things’ H&M collaboration alongside the rest of the cast, which features looks from his character.

“It was just nice to be part of that,” he noted. “And also, like, it’s not me, it’s Billy, you know what I mean? So, it’s kind of slightly removed in that respect, and it was nice to have that component to my character added in.”

However, there’s one look he is disappointed failed to make the cut.

“There was this grey, Everlast midriff shirt that was initially paired with the lifeguard shorts that almost made the cut,” the rising star revealed. “It was an amazing shirt. There’s a photo of Rob Lowe wearing it in the 1980s. At first, I was really hesitant, but then it looked awesome. It literally was a midriff that came only a couple of inches below my nipple line. And it had long sleeves, and was made of sweat material with an Everlast logo. I thought that was kind of cool.”

Rob Lowe and his two sons are fronting a new advertising campaign for his wife’s new jewellery collection.

The actor’s wife of 27 years, Sheryl Lowe, is expanding her namesake line with her first ever collection for men, and she’s turned the promos into a true family affair by enlisting the help of the former The West Wing star and their sons Matthew, 25, and John Owen, 23 to show off the pieces.

Among the items are chains, bracelets, cuffs and rings, which Sheryl initially crafted for her husband, but was inspired to make the accessories, appropriately named Mr. Lowe, widely available after they gained attention from several stylish celebrities.

“Sheryl has always made one-offs for me and eventually enough people started asking where they could buy them,” Rob tells People magazine. “A lot of my friends are wearing Mr. Lowe. Gerard Butler, Bob Geldof, Robert Downey Jr., David Spade, Zac Efron, David Duchovny, some of my other friends also try to steal pieces off my wrist.”

The couple’s children also had an influence on the jewellery, which ranges from $150 (£120) to $1,950 (£1,500) apiece and is available exclusively at Neiman Marcus.

“My sons are actually much more picky about design than I am,” he says. “They also have more guts to stand up to Sheryl about what they will and won’t wear. I am probably more of a push over but then again, it’s probably because I love Sheryl so much.”

Rob appreciates how the accessories allow men to express themselves through fashion in ways they normally are not able to, and notes they can be worn with both casual and formal attire.

“What I love about this collection is that it hits a fashion sweet spot for me,” he shares. “The pieces are masculine, they are substantial without trying too hard, you can wear them with jeans or a tux. Guys have fewer ways to express themselves through wardrobe and jewellery than women and it’s nice to see more and more men embracing jewellery like this.”

Sex & the City star Kristin Davis is in talks to star in a new Christmas movie with Rob Lowe about endangered elephants.

Christmas in the Wild is set against the backdrop of elephant poaching in Africa, and will also feature Lowe’s son John Owen.

Davis is in talks to play a woman whose husband walks out on her before a family safari. She decides to take the trip without him and meets an elephant conservationist, portrayed by Lowe.

She is already on board as an executive producer after helping develop the film idea around her passion for raising awareness about the plight of elephants in Africa.

Kristin previously executive produced the documentary Gardeners of Eden, which was distributed by Netflix – the streaming service which will host Christmas in the Wild at the end of 2019.

Sources tell Deadline that Davis is currently in Africa looking at elephant sanctuaries as potential filming locations.

News of the movie comes a month after it was reported the actress had become a mum again.

The 53-year-old actress has adopted a baby boy, according to celebrity journalist Marc Malkin’s Facebook page, but Kristin and her representatives have yet to confirm the news.

Kristin previously adopted a daughter, named Gemma Rose, in 2011.

Both Davis and Lowe have freed up a little time to make Christmas in the Wild – Kristin’s hopes of making a third Sex & the City movie fell apart last year (17) and Rob’s TV medical drama Code Black was recently cancelled.
