Shakira and Jennifer Lopez pulled out all of the stops for the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday night.
The superstars took to the stage for a 15-minute performance partway through the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
While the Halftime Show featured guest appearances by J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Jennifer’s 11-year-old daughter Emme Muniz, just as much attention was placed on the numerous costume changes made by the co-headliners.
Shakira kicked off the extravaganza with a rendition of her song She Wolf in a red minidress covered in Swarovski crystals and matching boots from fashion designer Peter Dundas, though she later ripped off part of her skirt to showcase her abs as she launched into her 2001 hit Whenever, Wherever.
Following the 43-year-old’s set, Jennifer made a splash by singing Jenny from the Block while wearing a studded black leather catsuit from Versace.
She later sported a nude-illusion bodysuit featuring metallic accents to demonstrate the pole dancing skills she mastered for her movie Hustlers on the stage, with a representative from the Italian label noting that the garment took over 700 hours to complete.
Meanwhile, Jennifer, 50, changed into a silver-toned bodysuit with metallic fringe for her performance of Let’s Get Loud, but also gave a nod to her heritage by draping a banner made of feathers decorated to resemble the U.S. and Puerto Rican flags over her shoulders.
For the final part of the spectacle, Shakira opted for a two-piece gold ensemble and matching gold sneakers, with the duo embracing in a big hug at the conclusion as fireworks were set off in the background.
“THANK YOU #TeamDundas for an incredible job. Big applause to @JLo @DonatellaVersace and stylists @RobZanargi and @marielhaenn (Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn). That was epic!!” wrote Peter alongside a slideshow of snaps from the concert.
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers during the game.

Jennifer Lopez wore a shimmering, custom-made dress by Versace for her epic 50th birthday bash.
The singer/actress celebrated her milestone birthday with close friends and family at Gloria Estefan’s sprawling luxury estate on Star Island in Miami on Wednesday and turned to Donatella Versace herself to help design the gown of her dreams.
Lopez resembled a Greek goddess in the chainmail cut-out dress, which featured belted straps and a thigh-high split. She enhanced the look by having her hair styled into a sleek ponytail and accessorised with diamond hoop earrings and her whopping 15-carat diamond engagement ring from fiance Alex Rodriguez.
Since then, the 50-year-old’s stylist Rob Zangardi has shared a behind-the-scenes on Instagram, showing fans how the show-stopping ensemble came together.
“Custom @versace for the Party! @jlo Thank you @donatella_versace @luciodirosa,” he captioned a photo of the expert design team from the Italian fashion house team working on the dress.
While Lucio Di Rosa, Versace’s head of celebrities, VIPs and haute couture clients worldwide, also shared a photo of Lopez’s completed outfit from her party on Instagram, and heaped praise on the “super sexy diva”.
“@jlo @versace there is not a better match on this earth. Happy Birthday Super Sexy Diva!! #jlo#versace,” he added.
The music-filled event included two special performances from Lopez’s 11-year-old twins, Max and Emme, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, as they serenaded their mother with a birthday rap and a song.
The Waiting for Tonight hitmaker shared a series of snaps from the bash too, including one of her whopping 10-tier gold birthday cake that was studded with Swarovski crystals.
“It’s been a birthday to remember. I can truly feel the love from all of you,” she wrote.

Jennifer Lopez’s longtime stylist Rob Zangardi is determined for her to shine “like a diamond” during the It’s My Party tour.
Jennifer kicked off her gigs in Los Angeles at the beginning of June and will be ending her trek in Russia on 11 August.
Rob pieced together the 19 costumes the On the Floor hitmaker wears during the show, as well as the 176 outfits for her dancers.
“Sparkle is incredibly effective for a big show like Jennifer’s,” Rob explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “On stage, things translate so differently. When you have an intimate setting or a smaller venue, it’s important to see the artist’s face, what they’re doing and not distract too much with the costumes. But when you’re performing for 20,000 people in an arena, the people way in the back need to see you and nothing’s more exciting than seeing J.Lo shining like a diamond onstage.
“And that’s a J.Lo staple. Jennifer has always loved the sparkle, the jewellery and the more-is-more mentality – for everything that she does.”
Explaining how involved Jennifer is when it comes to her stage costumes, Rob shared that together they put together mood boards based on the 49-year-old star’s idea for each section with colour palettes and an overall vibe.
The next stage saw Rob reach out to the designers who suit the different ideas. Versace, Guess, Zuhair Murad, Giambattista Valli, Balenciaga and Marchesa are among the big-name fashion houses who contributed to Jennifer’s tour wardrobe.
“(We approach designers) who we have relationships with or who Jennifer wants to make sure are in the show. One of them always is Versace, so we’ll reach out to their team and give them the concept,” Rob added.
