Pete Davidson is teaming up with his Saturday Night Live co-star Colin Jost for a new wedding comedy.

The 26-year-old will appear alongside Jost for the first time on the big-screen in Universal’s upcoming comedy Worst Man.

Davidson will reportedly play the best man of Jost’s groom, as a soon-to-be-married couple and their families prepare for the big day, according to Variety.

Worst Man is based on an original idea from the 37-year-old comedian, as well as writers Matthew Bass and Theodore Bressman.

Lorne Michaels, creator of Saturday Night Live, is also producing the film, and the hunt is still on for a director to helm the project.

There have been rumours that Davidson and Jost, who co-hosts Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update segment with Michael Che, are set to depart the sketch show later this year, with The King of Staten Island star unlikely to return when it begins production in the autumn.

Jost, who is currently engaged to Scarlett Johansson, is expected to depart after the 2020 presidential election in the U.S. in November.

Davidson has been gradually building a successful Hollywood career, with a recent critically-acclaimed performance in Judd Apatow’s The King of Staten Island, which was released earlier this month, and an upcoming role in James Gunn’s DC Comics movie, The Suicide Squad, which will be released next year.

Meanwhile, Jost will next be seen on the big screen in Warner Bros.’ live-action Tom & Jerry movie.

Pete Davidson came to terms with the death of his father while filming his new film, The King of Staten Island.

Firefighter Scott Davidson died during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on 11 September 2001, when Pete was just seven years old.

But in a new interview with CBS This Morning, the Saturday Night Live funnyman, who plays an aspiring tattoo artist struggling to deal with the death of his father in the movie, revealed that making the project enabled him to finally process the tragedy.

“I really wanted this to be cleansing for me,” the 26-year-old stated. “I feel like I got to speak about it in the biggest way possible to get my story out there. I feel like now I could let it go.”

Pete has been open about his mental health struggles in recent years, and during the chat, confessed his previous suicidal behaviour also inspired some key scenes.

“Until I met the right treatments and met the right doctors and did all the work that you need to do to, like, not feel that way, it got pretty dark and scary,” he explained.

Elsewhere, Pete noted that his own experiences influenced one sequence in the Judd Apatow-directed flick, in which his character closes his eyes while driving on a busy road.

“Yeah, that’s true. I used to do that,” the star added. “That’s horrible to say. But yeah, I used to close my eyes on a closed road, usually at night. And I would drive without a seatbelt.”

The King of Staten Island is now available on-demand video services.

Aidy Bryant learned to accept her body while filming sex scenes for her TV show Shrill.

The actress plays Annie in the hit Hulu series, which follows the aspiring writer as she juggles work, her love life, and caring for her sick parents.

The critically-acclaimed programme has been picked up for a third season, and in chat with Variety, Aidy confessed she was brought face to face with her body issues while filming sex scenes with Luka Jones, who plays Annie’s boyfriend Ryan.

“Even the experience of doing sex scenes on this show for me was a little bit of my own body journey,” she told Variety. “And I think I was maybe a little cocky going into making it where I was like, ‘Oh, I’m over a lot of these body issues, and I feel comfortable in my own skin, and I’ve worked really hard through therapy and friends and family to face some of these demons.’

“And then it was like, ‘Okay, now be in your underwear in front of a crew of 30 people.'”

In addition, Aidy opened up about how she is relieved to finally be playing a woman who accepts her body the way it is, as she feared she had failed an audition for Saturday Night Live early on in her career because of her weight.

“Even when I was auditioning for SNL I was like, ‘I wonder if they won’t hire me because I’m fat or because that’s sort of not the typical body you see on camera or there are less people for me to do impressions of, or that kind of thing,’” the 33-year-old explained. “So then to kind of be in the position to also take on (Shrill) and really spearhead it? Total dream come true.”

Pete Davidson’s The King of Staten Island heading straight to video-on-demand

Pete Davidson’s new semi-autobiographical film is skipping its planned theatrical release and heading straight to video-on-demand services.

The King of Staten Island, directed by Judd Apatow, had been due to premiere at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas in March, before the event was scrapped over the growing coronavirus outbreak.

The global pandemic has since forced the shutdown of cinema chains across the U.S., prompting studio bosses at Universal to rethink their release strategy, and accordingly, they have decided to forego the movie’s big-screen launch in June in favour of getting the project in front of fans who are self-isolating during the lockdown.

The film will now be available to purchase on home entertainment services on 12 June, a week earlier than its previously scheduled theatre opening.

Apatow shared a video of himself and Davidson announcing the news during a video call on Twitter on Monday, in which the Saturday Night Live comedian joked about the film’s delay impacting his Oscar chances.

“We’re still going to get rich, right?” the 26-year-old quipped, prompting the director to reply: “I don’t think that’s going to happen. I don’t think we’re going to make a lot of money.”

Apatow then joked that he would call Universal, and get them to “release it on the Internet, or something”.

The news emerges after similar action was taken for Trolls World Tour, which became a huge digital hit with families on lockdown when it was released in early April.

Meanwhile, Seth Rogen’s upcoming comedy, An American Pickle, will also hit TV screens sooner rather than later after it was picked up by executives at new streaming service HBO Max.

Pete Davidson has been tapped to appear in Alexander Wang’s latest marketing imagery.

The Saturday Night Live star walked the runway during the fashion designer’s spring 2020 show held at the Rockefeller Center plaza in New York City last May, where he joined the likes of professional models including Kendall Jenner, Binx Walton, and his rumoured girlfriend Kaia Gerber.

Now, Wang has teamed with Davidson once again, this time on a set of photos posted on Instagram. The picture shows the 26-year-old posing in two-tone jeans, a white tank top, and a black leather jacket while holding up a small motorcycle.

“Pete pulled up ’cause we signed the NDA,” a brand representative wrote in the caption, referencing reports circulating last month that Davidson makes fans sign a $1 million (£773,500) non-disclosure agreement before they’re welcomed into his shows.

It remains unclear whether the comedian’s photos are part of a wider campaign for the Alexander Wang brand or if they will only be shared on social media.

Meanwhile, Davidson has also taken part in a Q&A video with Wang for the label’s YouTube channel. When asked about his current state of mind, he explained that he found participating in a fashion photoshoot to be rather hilarious.

“I think it’s pretty funny that I’m doing this, that I’m a super-duper model,” said Davidson. “Anwar Hadid was unavailable, Jaden Smith was also not available, and Adam Devine is booked. So, Pete is here.”

Broadway star Alex Brightman has reportedly been cast as John Belushi in an upcoming biopic.

A biographical film about the late Saturday Night Live star has been in development for years, with Todd Phillips and Steven Conrad both tapped to direct at different times, with Emile Hirsch attached to star, but the project stalled around 2014.

Now, according to editors at Collider, the project is back in development again, with The Devil Wears Prada’s David Frankel in the frame to direct and Tony Award-nominated Broadway actor Brightman, who is best known for starring in the School of Rock and Beetlejuice stage adaptations, attached to play Belushi.

Masters of Sex actress Annaleigh Ashford is in the running to play Belushi’s girlfriend-turned-wife Judith, while comedian John Mulaney has been offered the role of Belushi’s good friend and SNL co-star Dan Aykroyd.

The script, which was originally written by Conrad, is expected to feature many other famous characters such as SNL boss Lorne Michaels and star Gilda Radner, journalist Barbara Walters, screen legend Jack Nicholson, and musicians Keith Richards, James Taylor, and Paul Simon.

Judith is reportedly involved in the project and is expected to serve as an executive producer, alongside Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert.

The film, currently known as Belushi, is expected to follow Belushi at the height of his fame, during which he had memorable roles in The Blues Brothers and National Lampoon’s Animal House. The comedian died at the age of 33 from a drug overdose at the Chateau Marmont in 1982.

Michael Chiklis previously played the comic in the 1989 biopic Wired, which received an overwhelmingly negative response from critics as well as Belushi’s friends and family, with Aykroyd once telling MTV, “I hope it never gets seen.”

Jennifer Lopez busted out her iconic green Versace dress for an appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

The superstar hit headlines around the world when she stepped out at the 2000 Grammy Awards sporting the tropical print gown, and attracted huge media attention again in September when she walked the runway during the Italian fashion house’s spring/summer 2020 show in a reimagined version.

Jennifer reflected on wearing the outfit for the second time during her monologue while hosting the TV show on Saturday night, and told the audience: “I walked the runway at Milan for the first time wearing a dress I wore 20 years ago. Now, some people said I look better now than I did then, and I’m not bragging – that’s just, you know, gossip.”

She then launched into a performance of Santa Claus is Coming to Town with the Radio City Rockettes and at the conclusion of the song, hid behind the dancers, whipped off her tuxedo, and proceeded to walk back to the front of the stage wearing the famous Donatella Versace-designed ensemble along with matching sandals, leading to a massive cheer from the audience.

To mark the 20th anniversary of Versace’s jungle print earlier this year, Jennifer recalled in a video for Vogue.com how she had to convince her stylist at the time, Andrea Lieberman, to let her wear the dress back in 2000.

“(On the day of the Grammys) there was two or three dresses… and then when I tried on the green one and I came out, everyone was there… glam and everybody… and they were like, ‘That’s the dress! That is the dress, that is what you are wearing. Let’s go,'” she remembered. “And then Andrea, my stylist was like, ‘You can’t wear that one,’ and I was like, ‘Why did you bring it then?'”

Yet, as soon as the I’m Real hitmaker made her entrance on the red carpet, she knew she had made the right decision.

“There was a little buzz in the air, people started yelling and screaming…the 50-year-old mused.

Pete Davidson is undergoing a course of strong medication in order to treat his acne.

The comedian has joined the likes of Lili Reinhart and Iris Law in discussing their struggles with the debilitating skin condition, in which cysts cause painful and red lumps on the face and body.

Now, in an interview with Paper magazine, Davidson has explained how he’s taking Accutane – a medication used to treat severe cystic acne that has not responded to other treatments.

“Well, my skin’s insanely bad because I have Crohn’s, so I have like no immune system,” the 26-year-old explained, referencing the inflammatory bowel disease he was diagnosed with in his teens. “So, I get cystic acne and I have to take extra-special care of my skin so it can still look sh***y. But now I’m on Accutane, so I’ve been told I’m gonna be a little bit of a b**** for the next six months.”

Cystic acne can leave long-lasting scars, and while there is no cure or specific cause, sufferers do need to undergo treatment.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Saturday Night Live funnyman discussed the intense public scrutiny over his appearance, especially during his short-lived relationship with popstar Ariana Grande last year.

“I think it’s very… weird. When enough people call you ugly, it definitely gets to you. For me, personally, I can’t block that stuff out. That’s why I had to get rid of the Internet and stuff,” Davidson shared. “But you definitely have to get to a place where you’re just like, ‘This is how I look. Alright.’ You know?”

Scarlett Johansson drew from her parents’ divorce to prepare for the family drama Marriage Story.

The actress appears opposite Adam Driver as a young mother coping with the breakup of her marriage in the film, and while the star has been divorced twice, she was directly influenced by what she had experienced growing up.

“It felt familiar somehow, but not because of what I’d been experiencing then,” Johansson, who was in the middle of her divorce from Romain Dauriac when preparing for the project, told Elle magazine. “But maybe because of how I grew up, and the dynamic between my parents – or maybe because I’ve known women who’ve dedicated themselves to their partner’s vision and then come out of this decade-long relationship feeling almost like a ghost.”

The Avengers: Endgame star was also previously married to Ryan Reynolds but is now setting out to find wedded bliss for a third time with Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost.

The 34-year-old also recalled how she set her own feelings of happiness aside in order to portray her character’s anguish.

“My ability to compartmentalise comes in handy when it’s time for things like that,” she added. “I’m certainly, obviously, very happy and fulfilled in my personal life, but I’m also a sum of many parts, and able to access different parts of my story and how I got here. It’s all valuable.”

Johansson was thrilled to play a mother on screen for the first time too.

“It’s funny, because I had never played a mother before, and now suddenly I have two films back to back where I have children who are, like, eight or nine years old,” Johansson, who shares five-year-old daughter Rose with Dauriac, added. “Actors get to wherever they need to go whether or not they’ve lived it, but (these roles) had a deeper resonance with me because of my own personal experience.”

Peter Capaldi has joined the cast of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

The former Doctor Who star has signed up to appear in the highly-anticipated follow-up to the 2016 movie in an undisclosed role, according to Deadline.

Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson is also in negotiations for a cameo role that he will reportedly shoot between filming of the long-running live sketch show.

No details have so far emerged about the plot, but Capaldi and Davidson will be joining the likes of Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, who are reprising their roles from David Ayer’s original.

And Idris Elba, John Cena, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, Steve Agee and Taika Waititi are the newest recruits to Gunn’s movie.

Elba was originally cast as Deadshot, effectively replacing Will Smith – who is not returning for the sequel – although it was reported soon after the news was announced that the 50-year-old was disappointed the British actor did not get his blessing before accepting the role.

According to editors at Collider, Elba and Gunn then created a new part in the movie for the Golden Globe-winning actor, but details are still under wraps.

Production on The Suicide Squad is slated to begin later this month, with the first table read session of Gunn’s script to be held on 11 September. And once filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia has wrapped, he will return to Marvel to film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3., starring Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista.

The Suicide Squad will be released in August 2021.
