Lea Michele is determined to overhaul her beauty routine in 2020 so that she only uses natural products.
The Glee star told her followers via her Instagram Stories that she wanted to replace all of the products in her home with non-toxic and all-natural alternatives.
“Coming into 2020 I have challenged myself to swap as many products in my home to all-natural products,” the 33-year-old wrote. “This means I’ll eventually transition all of my cleaning products, makeup, and beauty products to non-toxic chemical-free.”
Natural beauty products are made using plant-derived ingredients and no synthetic chemicals while non-toxic products are free from ingredients that have been associated with a toxic response in humans.
Lea proved she is already making good progress with her beauty overhaul by showing her followers what natural products she is now using in her routine.
She has swapped her old haircare products for Rahua’s Classic Shampoo and Voluminous Conditioner, which includes hair-strengthening rahua oil, and is loved by fellow celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian, Miranda Kerr, and Emma Watson.
The actress has also opted for The Honest Company Shampoo + Body Wash and finishes off her morning routine with Necessaire The Body Lotion, which contains moisturising ingredients like marula and jojoba oils.
Lea has switched up her skincare routine too and is using Ursa Major’s Fantastic Face Wash, as the foaming gel features soothing aloe and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), and is free from parabens.

Keke Palmer makes sure she gives herself time out to recover from tough roles.
The 26-year-old has been in the business for 15 years and has more than 30 credits to name, such as Akeelah and the Bee, Scream Queens, True Jackson, VP, and the recent Hustlers.
She experienced her biggest learning curve when she starred and executive produced the 2018 gritty drama Pimp, in which she played a female pimp named Wednesday, and finally discovered why some actors need to take time off after intense projects.
“My feelings don’t know that this is a joke,” Keke told Teen Vogue. “My emotions are actually going through the feelings of the character, whether I’m pulling from a personal experience or allowing myself to be devastated by whatever this character is experiencing. If you’re going to do a deep role, it has to be meaningful to you. You’ve got to be sure about it and give yourself the opportunity and time to recover. I didn’t respect my feelings enough to understand that until I did that role.”
Following that experience, the actress has become very selective about what roles she chooses in order to help protect her mental health.
“Even if it comes down to an audition tape, I’m not f**king going there if there’s no need to,” she added. In a separate interview with StyleCaster, Keke shared the decision-making process she goes through when considering a role.
“It’s a lot of different things. Do I care about this character? Do I feel like I can add to this character? Can I make this character come alive? What is the project saying?” the star explained. “I always want to be able to say whatever I’m doing; this is why. As an artist, I want to be able to know that my voice was a part of it.”

Keke Palmer was anxious when shaving off her hair in 2017 but ultimately found the experience to be “liberating”.
The Hustlers actress has experimented with many different hairstyles during her time in the limelight, rocking the likes of long waves, box braids, a pixie cut, and a bob, but she surprised fans when she outdid herself by shaving off all hair in May 2017 and then swiftly dyeing her buzzcut purple.
In a new interview with StyleCaster, the 26-year-old described the big chop as one of the scariest things she’s ever done but admitted it turned out to be a liberating and transformative experience.
“As a Black woman, there are so many ideas of how you need to have your hair to look professional, and many of them include perming it, straightening it, weaving it – whatever,” she explained. “I love those things too, but I think what happened growing up and it constantly feeling a burden, it’s like I stopped really caring about my own hair. Eventually, I said, ‘I’m going to shave all of it off.’ So when I cut my hair, it was very scary, but it was liberating, and it was a hugely transformative time for me when I did that.”
Back in 2017, the Scream Queens star explained that it wasn’t purely a style statement, but an effort to give her hair a break from styling and to let her strands grow back healthy and strong.
“I cut my hair for a couple of reasons,” Keke shared. “The first being, I wanted to start over. My texture has changed quite a bit over the years from all the things I’ve done to it. I really want to be able to let my hair rest and become its own thing. I also really wanted to be bald!”
