Sarah Jessica Parker is too “old and tired” to get dolled up on a daily basis nowadays.

The Sex and the City actress has admitted in a new interview with InStyle that she used to put in so much effort to look flawless, but she’s now got to the stage where she simply aims to appear “presentable enough”.

“I try to be presentable enough so it’s not offensive to somebody in a meeting,” she stated. “I used to think there was a certain way to be appropriate in a meeting, but I think at a certain point in your life you realise, well, my brain is appropriate and I’m going to speak in a way that’s appropriate, and hopefully, my ideas are welcome in the conversation. If my grey sweatshirt is offensive to someone, then that’s not somebody who wants to be in a conversation with me anyway. I am not able to do it anymore, I’m only able to be myself. I’m just so fricking old and tired.”

The 54-year-old also shared that she tends to wear the same type of clothes when she takes her children – 10-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion and 16-year-old son James – to school every morning.

“I don’t think I always look super good when I walk out the door. I look like almost everybody else at drop off,” Parker insisted. “I wear the same thing every day, to be honest. I usually have grey pants on and a grey shirt because anything goes with the grey. I wear sunglasses and my hair in a bun, with no base.”

The star is currently promoting her company SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker’s collaboration with Sunglass Hut. She designed an oversized shield-like frame which comes in five colourways.

Sarah Jessica Parker has teamed up with Sunglass Hut to create an exclusive style of shades.

The actress’s SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker shoe line has collaborated with the eyewear retailer to make a new sunglass shape, which will be sold in five colourways including black and tortoiseshell.

The Sex and the City star wanted “to create a large frame that was inspired by the past but felt modern and wearable for many” and ended up designing an oversized shield-like shape frame with the “SJP” logo at the temple.

“We were working off an old and beloved pair of glasses no longer produced,” Parker told WWD. “I owned a pair of shield-shaped sunglasses in the ’90s that I absolutely loved, and I was so sad when they were discontinued… People would ask me where to buy this style and now I can happily say they are available at Sunglass Hut.”

The collaboration marks the 54-year-old’s first foray into eyewear with a retailer and she was determined to create a versatile style.

“It was very important to me when creating this collection that they would be an accessory I would want to wear all the time, no matter the occasion,” she said of the design.

The packaging for the collection is similar to what is used for her shoe collection, which she founded in 2014, and resembles the shoeboxes and pouches found in her stores.

The sunglasses, which retail for $159 (£129), will launch on 3 October in Sunglass Hut stores and its website.

To mark the launch, the Divorce actress will take part in an intimate chat hosted by Sunglass Hut in New York on the same day.

Diane von Furstenberg has hit back at criticism of a dress design featuring newspaper print.

Representatives for the designer’s fashion brand recently posted an image of a model sporting the new Shia wrap dress on Instagram, with the number featuring a collage of vintage press clippings.

Later on, the team behind the Diet Prada account pointed out Furstenberg failed to credit other designers, such as Elsa Schiaparelli, for the concept, and accordingly, the 72-year-old had plenty to say on the matter.

“Marisa Berenson has been my best friend since we were 18. Her grandmother was Elsa Schiaparelli and I was terrified to cross her in the hallway of her house where Marisa lived. Schiap had humour… except of course when her granddaughter did nude photos for Vogue!!!!” she wrote in the comments section of the post, before also referring to artists who used newspaper print in their work: “How about (Salvador) Dali and (Piero) Fornasetti? Newspaper print is like leopard print… timeless and so much fun!”

The Shia wrap dress, which features pleating along the waist and oversized sleeves, is currently sold out on the company’s website.

In the original post comparing Furstenberg’s outfit with some of Schiaparelli’s work, the moderators at Diet Prada also noted that John Galliano had used newspaper print during his time at Dior from 1996 until early 2011.

“Hey @dvf … were you gonna mention the classic Elsa Schiaparelli concept behind your dress or nah? Schiap’s 1935 print was comprised of her own press clippings as well, although they were a little more timely then as opposed to DVF’s which date back to the ’70s,” they wrote. “Judging by the comments, DVF’s followers are more aware of Galliano’s year 2000 take on the print from his Dior collection inspired by the homeless people he saw around Paris, made famous of course by SJP/SATC (Sarah Jessica Parker in character as Carrie Bradshaw on TV show Sex and the City). We still stan a female fashion icon, although it would’ve been cool to see her acknowledge another woman who paved the way.”

Kim Cattrall won’t be ‘bullied’ into making Sex and the City 3

Kim Cattrall has reignited her feud with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex and the City producers by accusing them of “bullying” her to star in a third movie.

The actress, who played vamp Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City television series and two movies, has previously spoken out about her decision not to return for another film – and now she insists it’s high time for her co-stars and former bosses to move on without her.

In a new interview with The Guardian’s Observer magazine, Cattrall commented, “I went past the finish line playing Samantha Jones because I loved Sex and the City. It was a blessing in so many ways but after the second movie, I’d had enough. I couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t just replace me with another actress instead of wasting time bullying. No means no.”

Cattrall recently took another swipe at Parker in an interview with Mail Online, insisting she wants to work with “good people” moving forward.

Asked if she’d ever considered a Sex and the City return, the 62-year-old replied: “Never. It’s a no from me… You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.”

Parker and her other Sex and the City co-stars, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, had previously indicated they would be interested in starring in the follow-up to 2010’s Sex and the City 2.

Yet, the Divorce actress has since confirmed that any further plans have been shelved, even though a script had been completed.

“We were excited about it,” she shared of the third film in a chat with U.S. breakfast show Today in late 2018. “I thought it was an exquisite, unbearably painful, heartbreaking, joyful story, that felt like the beginning in a lot of ways, but it appears for the time being that that will have to be sufficient, just having read the script will have to be enough for me… Sorry!”

Sarah Jessica Parker has finally settled the mystery over a pair of mismatched shoes her character Carrie Bradshaw wore in Sex and the City.

In episode 13 of season three of the HBO show, which originally aired in September 2000, Carrie heads to Los Angeles with Miranda Hobbes, played by Cynthia Nixon, and Samantha Jones, portrayed by Kim Cattrall.

And in one scene, the column writer and lover of fashion wears a pair of mismatched Christian Louboutin shoes.

It’s an outfit choice that has baffled fans for years, and on Tuesday, the people who run popular Instagram account Every Outfit on Sex & the City posted a picture from the episode, and titled the post, “The Mystery of the Mismatched Loubs.”

“Did Carrie buy these mismatched sandals straight off the rack? Or did she purchase two separate pairs and mix them together herself? Unfortunately, we have no answers. But we do maintain that this is one of her most compelling footwear moments on the series,” they jokingly queried.

Fans and followers were left stunned when Sarah herself commented on the post, and finally gave the reason why Carrie wore the pink and blue mismatched strappy sandals.

“Here is the official answer and I’m sure approved by the great and legendary @patriciafield,” the 54-year-old wrote, tagging Sex and the City’s iconic costume designer.

“We had two pairs of what I believe are @louboutinworld scrappy sandals. Pat and I chose to do one of each. Perhaps because both were so delicious in colour and seemed in harmony with the dress but also because we simply loved doing one of each. Sending my best. And hope this is a satisfactory answer. Xxx,” Sarah concluded.

Patricia also chimed in on the post and praised the efforts of Every Outfit on Sex & The City for trying to get to the bottom of the shoe mystery.

“@sarahjessicaparker and I decided to use one of each because we could not choose which one was best and they were both perfect with the dress,” she shared.

Sarah Jessica Parker has joined forces with lingerie brand Intimissimi for a sexy new sleepwear campaign.

The former Sex and the City star unveiled the new capsule on Tuesday (16Apr19), posing for a series of stunning images to show off the sexy attire – the actress posed sporting the Italian brand’s Triangle Bra collection and pyjama sets in front of a New York city backdrop. Among the new pieces are comfortable bra designs and silk, lace and cotton loungewear.

“With @intimissimiofficial silk pajamas this gorgeous, there’s really no need to change when you wake,” Parker said in a post on Instagram.

The sultry offerings also include the wireless Tiziana Lace Triangle Bra, featuring a plunging V-neck, light padding and an adjustable back and straps. The Emma Silk Triangle Bra is available unpadded and wireless for comfort, while the coral-coloured Delicate Flowers Lace Triangle Bra adds a colourful touch to the line.

“Intimissimi and Sarah Jessica Parker come together to send a strong and positive message: personality and sensuality,” a statement from Intimissimi representatives reads. “Sarah Jessica Parker is the empowering woman that has found the key to success in her own intelligence, charisma and personal femininity.”

The 54 year old has been rather busy with projects outside of acting – last month (Mar19), she announced plans to launch a line of wine products.

Parker will join forces with tastemakers at the New Zealand-based Invivo Wines for the venture and took to YouTube to share her passion for the collaboration.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” she said in a clip ahead of the impending unveiling. “I feel really lucky. It’s pretty freakin’ special!”

Manolo Blahnik has parted ways with his U.S. partners after a 37-year business relationship.

The Spanish footwear and accessories designer, whose stilettos became famous around the world when they were featured in episodes of TV show Sex and the City, has worked alongside George Malkemus, president of Manolo Blahnik USA, and Anthony Yurgaitis, for nearly four decades.

However, on Monday (08Apr19), Malkemus and Yurgaitis announced that they had decided not to renew their license to sell Blahnik’s designs across America.

“After meeting with Kristina Hulsebus Blahnik, Mr. Blahnik’s niece, who, along with her in-house counsel and financial adviser, offered unacceptable terms, George Malkemus and Anthony Yurgaitis, on behalf of Manolo Blahnik USA (MBUSA), have chosen not to renew their license agreement of 37 years,” they said in a statement issued to WWD.

Malkemus and Yurgaitis’ licensing deal runs until December. The duo did not disclose why they had differences with Hulsebus Blahnik, who took over as chief executive officer at the London-based brand in 2013, though indicated that the choice to split was not “hinged by a financial disagreement”.

Representatives from Blahnik’s office in the U.K. have not yet commented on the news. It remains unclear what will happen to the licensing deal, and Blahnik stockists across the U.S., including high-end department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. Malkemus and Yurgaitis also oversee a Blahnik boutique in Manhattan.

Previously, Blahnik described his relationship with Malkemus as solid, and praised the executive’s knack for making savvy business decisions.

“It’s a balance thing for us,” the 76-year-old told Footwear News in 2009. “George is a very good businessman. He’s patient. I am not. When it comes to money and things like that, I’m totally innocent. I don’t want to know. It’s always been my strength not to be involved in the business end. George is very constant. You can count on him.”

In addition to working for Blahnik, Malkemus co-founded Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP Collection in 2013.

Sarah Jessica Parker has gone all Carrie Bradshaw for Fendi’s latest bag campaign.

The Italian fashion house has recently reissued its famous Baguette, a favourite of Sarah’s Sex and the City character. The new bag was unveiled at Fendi’s Spring/ Summer 19 Milan Fashion Week Show in September to much fanfare, and now a campaign has been rolled out to go with it.

As well as a series of still images for the #BaguetteFriendsForever adverts, Fendi also debuted a video on its official Instagram account, with Sarah guest starring as her most famous alter ego.

In the clip, four friends, including influencer Caroline Daur and model Ebonee Davis, lust over Fendi’s new purple sequin Baguette, and race across New York to try and get Caroline one.

As they run into the Fendi store on Madison Avenue, they see the bag has gone, and ask the shop assistant where it is.

“I’m sorry, someone just bought it,” the Fendi worker says to the four friends, who pile out of the shop and try to see the mystery shopper.

“Ma’am wait. Ma’am I need that bag!” Caroline calls out to the back of the shopper’s head.

“Oh, this isn’t a bag. It’s a Baguette,” the actress says as she spins around with her classic Carrie smile.

The Baguette regularly featured during Sex and the City’s six-year run, including when Carrie’s purple, sparkly version gets robbed during season three and later in the season when Kim Cattrall’s character Samantha Jones buys a fake one.

Sarah even wrote the foreword for the 2012 Fendi Baguette book.

Chris Noth: ‘Sex and the City is finished forever’

Chris Noth has insisted there will not be a third Sex and the City movie as the cast are not on speaking terms.

The actor, who played John ‘Mr. Big’ Preston – the love interest and eventual husband of Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw – in the hit TV series and two spin-off films, is adamant a third instalment will never happen.

“There’s no drama. There’s no movie, there’s nothing going on with it. It’s dead, it’s over, it’s gone,” he told Cover Media at the British Independent Film Awards in London on Sunday (02Dec18).

The 64-year-old also revealed that he is no longer in touch with any of his former colleagues and that they are not close, adding: “We’re all living our lives and raising children, some of us at least. It happens with a lot of films and things. You get very close for a finite amount of time and then never see each other again!”

Additionally, Chris denied reports that Mr. Big was killed off in an early script for a third movie – a claim made by podcast host James Andrew Miller, who said the plot point had caused Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, to veto the film.

“He wasn’t gonna die,” he said. “There’s no way he was dying. That was all a lie.”

Sarah and fellow stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, who played Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes, respectively, had signed on for a third film, but it was canned in September 2017 after Kim refused to return, sparking a feud between her and the Hocus Pocus star.

During chats with castmembers including Chris, James alleged Kim’s boycott of the film was due to Mr. Big’s death – as the plot focused on how Carrie copes with losing her husband and had little to offer her character.

The actor claimed not to have seen any script but did tell the podcast host that he had heard the story was “superior” to the first two movies – which were financially successful but infuriated critics.
