Edward Enninful styled Taylor Swift in a vintage Chanel jacket for the latest cover of British Vogue to address the “global climate crisis”.

The singer rocks a cream tweed jacket from the French luxury fashion house’s Metiers d’art Paris-New York 2005/2006 collection, accompanied by a white shirt with pearl Chanel buttons, for the main image of the U.K. magazine’s January 2020 issue.

When putting together pieces for the photoshoot, British Vogue editor-in-chief Enninful was keen to promote ways in which sustainability can be highly fashionable.

“I wanted to put a vintage Chanel jacket on the cover of Vogue because I feel that, with the global climate crisis, we all have to do what we can to contribute to the conversation around sustainability,” he wrote in an editor’s letter. “Buying better and buying less is what I believe in: investing in clothes that will last a lifetime, pieces that can be passed down from generation to generation.”

Enninful also revealed that he has always invested in classic pieces.

“Fashion shouldn’t feel disposable: the best clothes can be worn time and time again and have the quality of both design and craftsmanship to ensure their staying power,” the 47-year-old explained, adding that it was important to him to choose one classic item for the Shake It Off hitmaker to wear on the cover. “It’s the ultimate sign of luxury, it has never gone out of fashion, and it never will.”

The January 2020 issue of British Vogue is out on 6 December.

Lupita Nyong’o personally wrote to Taylor Swift to ask for her permission to use Shake It Off in her new movie Little Monsters.

In the independent Australian comedy, the Oscar-winning actress plays Miss Caroline, a kindergarten teacher who must keep her class alive when zombies break out of a military testing facility and wander to the nearby petting zoo, where they are on a school trip.

Miss Caroline can usually be found playing the ukulele to entertain her youngsters and their particular favourite is Swift’s 2014 hit single. However, director Abe Forsythe struggled to get the rights to the song at a price the production could afford, so Nyong’o stepped in and made it happen.

“We tried for months and months and months to get the rights to it with no luck,” Forsythe explained to Vulture. “We tried reaching out to Taylor herself; didn’t get through. We tried her management. We tried her record company. Management I think came back at one point and said, ‘It will cost this,’ and it was like completely unaffordable for the type of movie we were.

“Anyway, when Lupita came onboard, Shake It Off was one of the things that appealed to her about Little Monsters, too. The song played a really particular role in one part of her life, so she really resonated with that being in the script. She was like, ‘We can’t not have this in the movie,’ so she told me she was going to write Taylor an email and not give Taylor the opportunity to turn her down… The only reason that song is in the movie is because Lupita is in the movie. I wouldn’t have been able to make the movie that we made with anyone else.”

Forsythe went on to explain that he wasn’t aware of the song but wrote it straight into the script after he heard children from his son’s school perform it on a ukulele at a recital.

Anna Wintour has named colourful leopard print leggings as her least favourite fashion trend of late.

The U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief is one of the most important figures in the fashion world, and over the course of her career, has been praised for her ability to discover designers.

However, in a new chat with Vogue’s 2019 September issue cover star, Taylor Swift, for the popular Go Ask Anna video series, the superstar asked her, “Which trend do you wish never existed, from the last couple of years?”

To which the editor replied, “Well, I was just recently in Paris with the couture shows and I definitely saw far too many neon, leopard print leggings. Something I definitely would not want to see again.”

The Shake It Off hitmaker proceeded to ask whether Anna would rather live in a lighthouse or houseboat for the rest of her life, to which she replied, “Definitely lighthouse, I like to be on firm ground.”

Meanwhile, the most positive adjective the 69-year-old uses to describe a person, thing or concept is “generous spirit,” and conversely, the most negative adjective is “disrespectful”.

Elsewhere in the discussion, Anna noted that she likes to play Taylor’s music at her dinner parties and is particularly fond of her 2008 album Fearless, 2012’s Red, as well as the upcoming record, Lover.

She also revealed that she has recently adopted a new dog, named Finch.

“We just have a new puppy in our household, she arrived this week and her name is Finch. And she’s called Finch because we call all of our dogs after characters in (Harper Lee’s classic novel) To Kill a Mockingbird. So we’ve had a Scout, a Radley and a Harper. And let me tell you, they are not happy about Finch’s arrival,” she added.

Taylor Swift will celebrate the launch of her new album by collaborating with top fashion designer Stella McCartney on a special clothing collection.

The Shake It Off hitmaker confirmed her latest release, Lover, will drop on 23 August, and in an Instagram Live video on Thursday, Taylor revealed she had joined forces with the 47-year-old designer.

“Another thing I wanted to tell you… for the release of the Lover album, there’s gonna be a collaboration that I’ve done with Stella McCartney,” she told her fans.

“She’s been a friend for a really long time, and also just a woman I respect so much,” Taylor gushed, before explaining that the collection will be inspired by her songs.

“I respect what she creates, how she creates it. There’s so much whimsy and imagination and romance to the clothing that she designs, and I’ve worn a lot of her stuff recently,” she added.

The Bad Blood hitmaker has worn several pieces by British designer McCartney, including the plunging baby blue tulle gown she wore to accompany boyfriend Joe Alwyn to the BAFTAs after-parties earlier this year.

More details about the collaboration will be shared closer to the launch in August, although she did explain that the tone of her new music is “really romantic” – just like McCartney’s feminine styles.

“She’s heard the new album, and this new collaboration is inspired by the Lover album… I’m so excited about that, and really excited that she would want to collaborate in this way,” Taylor added.

Lover will serve as the follow-up to 2017’s Reputation.

The designer behind Taylor Swift’s ethereal Time 100 Gala gown has revealed that the star played a key role in designing the fairy tale look.

The Look What You Made Me Do hitmaker wore the pastel, peach and yellow coloured J. Mendel design to the annual event in New York on Tuesday night (23Apr19).

While the gown was originally from the designer’s spring 2019 collection, the brand’s creative director, Gilles Mendel, explained that the initial look did not feature the off-the-shoulder sleeves that Taylor wore.

“That bolero didn’t come from me – it was her,” he told Page Six Style. “She had the vision of having some sort of cover that would give it a different volume than just a basic dress. So we developed, with our Gilles Mendel touch, this little hand-pleated, silk-sleeved bolero cover that I thought came out really stunning.”

While the star rocked the completed look on the red carpet, she went on to remove the bolero for her performance at the event, where she played a five-song set of her best-loved hits.

Gilles went on to laud the 29-year-old for her creative vision, and shared that she is always keen to collaborate on her looks.

“Taylor always has a very strong point of view; she’s really extraordinary in how she transforms herself constantly,” he said of the I Knew You Were Trouble songstress. “She always comes to me with an idea; in this case, the theme was pastel colours and soft tones. So we started with my spring palette, and from there, we built up the dress.”

Fans have recently begun to suspect that Taylor is gearing up to launch her debut clothing collection, after she stepped out Monday sporting pink floral shorts and a matching T-shirt, with one of the sleeves of her top printed with her name in a bold white font.

Taylor also wore a similar floral gown to pal Gigi Hadid’s 24th birthday party later that day, with fans further speculating that the star is about to make a foray into fashion.

Taylor Swift has given fans a glimpse at what appears to be her new line of merchandise.

The Shake It Off singer, who has been teasing followers that she is gearing up to release new music on Friday (26Apr19) by sharing a countdown clock on her website, stepped out in New York City on Monday sporting pink floral shorts and a matching T-shirt, with one of the sleeves of her top printed with her name in a bold white font.

Later on, Taylor also wore a similar floral dress under a red blazer to her pal Gigi Hadid’s 24th birthday party, causing many fans to speculate that she is gearing up to unveil a line of clothing and accessories to accompany her upcoming seventh studio album.

“Could this be potential new merch?!?!!! The sleeve clearly says TAYLOR SWIFT!! #TaylorSwiftApril26,” one Twitter user wrote, while another commented, “Imma need this glittery flower merch in my life asap.”

A third added: “OMG (oh my God), what if she’s going to start her own clothing and jewellery line.”

The floral theme of her latest ensembles also nicely complements Taylor’s new pink dip-dyed hair, which she first rocked at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards in March.

In addition, the superstar has been sharing clues that something major is on the horizon on her Instagram page, and in recent days has uploaded close-up images of pink sequin fabric, a light blue bicycle, heart-shaped jewellery, pastel tiles, and pink and yellow handbags. All of the snaps have been captioned, “4.26.”

If Taylor does end up dropping new tunes on Friday, it will be her first material since leaving Big Machine Label Group and moving over to Republic Records and Universal Music Group.

Gigi Hadid has opened up about how she deals with fame in an emotional interview for Variety’s Power of Women issue.

The 23-year-old broke down in tears as she confessed to the U.S. publication that, while she loves her career as one of the world’s most celebrated models, she finds life in the spotlight “tough”.

“It makes me emotional because, at times, fame makes you feel out of control of your life,” she reflected. “I think it’s tough. Obviously, people judge you.”

Gigi suggested that she finds strength and comfort in the famous women around her and cited her good pal Taylor Swift as a constant source of support.

The beauty went on claim that she has been a fan of Taylor’s music since she was a child and admitted that she relates to the Look What You Made Me Do hitmaker on a personal level, as well as through her famously confessional song lyrics.

“An amazing thing about my friendship with Taylor has been that she is a songwriter that I’ve connected to through my childhood into my adult life,” she shared.”And us becoming friends has given me an insight into the mind that creates those lyrics.”

Gigi went on to gush over the Shake It Off songstress, lauding her as a “woman (who is) able to own what she’s been through,” and labelling her “amazing and empowering”.

The blonde star became friends with Taylor, 29, when she appeared in the 2015 music video for her hit Bad Blood, alongside models Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, and Cindy Crawford.

Taylor Swift admits she used to apply her signature cat eye look with a permanent marker pen as a teen.

The singer recalls her harmful beauty habits that proved to be damaging to her skin, confessing she would sleep with makeup on, but now insists she adopts healthier routines for a clear complexion.

“After my teen years and early twenties of sleeping in my makeup and occasionally using a Sharpie as eyeliner, I felt like I needed to start being nicer to my skin,” she tells Elle magazine.

The star now focuses on maintaining her stunning glow by taking better care of herself.

“I moisturise my face every night and put on body lotion after I shower, not just in the winter, but all year round, because, why can’t I be soft during all the seasons?” she adds.

The Shake it Off hitmaker’s haircare views have also evolved over the past decade or so.

“I learned that your hair can completely change texture,” she says. “From birth, I had the curliest hair and now it is straight. It’s the straight hair I wished for every day in junior high. But just as I was coming to terms with loving my curls, they’ve left me. Please pray for their safe return.”

As for fashion, the 29 year old embraces her past style fails and misses, claiming they were all part of learning which looks work well for her and which don’t.

“Fashion is all about playful experimentation,” she notes. “If you don’t look back at pictures of some of your old looks and cringe, you’re doing it wrong.”
