Ariana Grande has chopped off her signature ponytail in favour of a new shorter haircut.

The popstar has become synonymous with the recognisable hairstyle, with an MTV music critic once even arguing that her ponytail is “as famous as her voice.” However, following her split from former fiance Pete Davidson, Ariana has decided it’s time for a new look and shared the results of her recent haircut with her Instagram followers on Friday (16Nov18).

The 25-year-old’s long brunette locks have been cut into a chic shoulder-length long-bob which emphasises her highlighted strands, and she also added a fun filter on top of the snap to give her a pair of floral bunny ears and a cute rabbit’s nose and whiskers.

Fans flocked to compliment the Thank U, Next hitmaker on her bold new look, with one even proclaiming, “This is a new start of Ari.”

Topping the comments list was Ariana’s friend and fellow singer Demi Lovato, who returned to Instagram last week (06Nov) having taken a break from social media in the wake of her suspected overdose back in July.

“Cutie (three heart emojis),” the Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker wrote.

Ariana has relied on hair extensions to create her full ponytail, previously explaining that four years of dying her hair red to play Cat on television shows Victorious and Sam & Cat left her tresses “completely destroyed.”

“I wear extensions but I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down,” she wrote on her Instagram page back in 2015.

The haircut also follows the singer’s recent exchange with Camila Cabello, who recently asked how Ariana maintains such a painful style.

“well u actually have hair so that prolly (probably) makes it a lil more painful,” she replied. “nah jk (joke) i’m in constant pain always and don’t care at all.”

Demi Lovato has launched a summer capsule collection with Fabletics.

The pop star first collaborated with the sportswear brand, co-founded by actress Kate Hudson, in 2017, and has now teamed up with them again to create a line of fitness clothes ready for the warmer months.

“I’m so excited to continue working with Fabletics to launch a cool, new collection for summer!” she enthused in a statement. “I took inspiration from my tour and wanted to give my fans a collection of styles that make me feel confident. Whether you’re on the road or at home in your everyday routine, these pieces are intended to brighten your mood and inspire everyone to have fun staying active.”

In a campaign photo released to promote Demi’s latest line, the 25-year-old poses in the doorway of a bus wearing a matching black long-sleeve top and legging set, featuring funky patterns and sheer panelling.

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker has often spoken out about the benefits exercise brings to both her physical and mental health, and is a big fan of workouts like circuit training, mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu. While Demi has days where she struggles to find motivation, she admitted that an attractive wardrobe gives her the push she needs.

“I think 75 per cent of the challenge of working out is getting dressed and getting to the gym, so when you have cute clothes, it definitely helps,” she explained in an interview with SELF. “Working out really empowers me. It makes me feel stronger.”

And for the sake of her own wellbeing, Demi, 25, prefers to steer clear of exercise influencers on social media platforms.

“I’m not a huge fan of Instagram stuff when it comes to fitness,” she confessed. “Just because you can do a lot of comparing and sometimes it just seems unobtainable with the way that people work out and look a certain way.”

Demi Lovato is done with hiding her flaws.

The singer took to Instagram last Thursday (06Apr18) to share videos of her cellulite, stretch marks and “extra fat”, and encouraged followers to join her and embrace their real selves.

Demi has now explained why she decided to bare all on her social media account.

“I was on Instagram and I started comparing myself to these Instagram models and I just thought to myself, someone needs to show my fans and anybody that’s looking at my account that what you see isn’t always what’s real,” she told E! News. “And so, I decided to embrace my flaws and—I don’t even like to call them flaws, it’s just a part of who I am — and show the world that I’m imperfect, but that’s what makes me beautiful.”

The 25-year-old, who has previously battled addiction, bulimia, and self-harm, has always been open about her past struggles with body image and self-esteem.

She’s managed to find a way to get past her insecure thoughts though, and has shared her philosophy with anyone else currently struggling.

“What I would say to somebody who’s struggling right now, is try to find the gratitude,” the popstar affirmed. “It’s so important that you try to find gratitude in your life and focus on the positive things and when you’re able to do that, or you’re able to help others, you’re able to get outside of yourself and you’re able to look at your life from a different perspective. Sometimes it’s really challenging and it’s really difficult, but it’s something that helps me every day, and so far it’s worked.”

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker has also put all fad diets behind her.

“I think that dieting is something that we’ve been forced to kind of do because of the diet culture… we’re praised if we don’t eat fried chicken and we eat a salad,” she lamented. “It’s like, sometimes that’s what you want and it’s OK to treat yourself every once in a while.”

Demi Lovato went back to her signature long locks at her latest gig after experimenting with a bob hairstyle.

The singer delighted fans at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Monday (02Apr18) when she performed the last of her shows from the U.S. run of her Tell Me You Love Me World Tour.

Demi’s long, dark, hair was loose and natural on the night, marking a drastic change from the shorter haircut she flaunted last Friday.

Hairdresser Cesar DeLeon Ramirez uploaded a video of the 25-year-old rocking an asymmetric, chin-length bob, which he captioned: “New Cut.”

While many of Demi’s fans were convinced she’d gone for the chop, Cesar later revealed that her new tresses were courtesy of a wig.

“We’d been toying with the idea of cutting her hair into a short bob, but since we’ve been in the process of growing her hair out, we were a bit hesitant,” he said in an interview with Refinery29. “Since Demi has been on tour, it was the perfect opportunity to give her hair a rest from extensions and the everyday stresses of hot tools.

“I always suggest this as a solution for anyone wanting a short cut but isn’t ready to commit just yet.”

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker isn’t the only celebrity to experiment of late, as Emma Roberts recently ditched her signature bright blonde hue in favour of a new pink look.

The actress shared the results with her fans in an Instagram video on Sunday, adding that the girly overhaul tied in with her role in upcoming movie Paradise Hills.

Another fan of pink tresses is Paris Jackson, who has revamped her usual style with some peach-toned highlights.

Paris’ hairstylist Riawna Capri took to Instagram on Sunday, and uploaded a snap of the star’s new shade, writing, “This is not a filter, this is #PeachyParis looking like a Bali Sunrise #lovethisgirl.”

Demi Lovato has shared the make-up trends she hates the most.

The singer is known for experimenting with her look, particularly when it comes to her hair colour, but she admits that her love for bright colours doesn’t extend to her make-up. And there is one particular product she now avoids at all cost.

“Blue lipstick,” stated Demi in an interview with Elle U.S.A. “I’ve done it before for pictures with friends and photoshoots, but I can’t see myself wearing blue lipstick to a concert.”

“(Also) overdoing highlighter—because then you look like a glowworm!” she added.

Although the 25-year-old isn’t a fan of the blue-lipped look, she does have a fondness for “shades from the ’90s, mauve, brown,” and went on to recall that her first cosmetic purchase also happened to be a lipstick.

“(I bought) a lipstick at the Clinique counter when I was five using my tooth fairy money,” she smiled. “I’m a make-up girl. I played with it a lot growing up — my mum let me.”

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker was happy to disclose all her top beauty tips, admitting that she never uses drug store products and hasn’t let anybody groom her eyebrows since she was 15-years-old. And most importantly, she revealed the secret behind her enviably long eyelashes.

“These are lash extensions,” the popstar explained. “I also like using strip lashes and cutting them into five pieces, and then I glue them on a little bit at a time. I’m using a serum and I would tell you (the name) but I don’t want to give them promotion because they’re not paying me, so…”
