Selena Gomez production The Broken Hearts Gallery is set to be the first major studio release to hit cinemas once they reopen.

Most movie theatres around the world have been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, but over 500 locations have reopened in the U.S., with more permitted to follow this month.

It was expected that Christopher Nolan’s thriller Tenet, starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, would be the first major studio film to be released in reopened cinemas on 17 July, but it has now been announced that Sony’s The Broken Hearts Gallery, produced by Gomez, will debut a week before on 10 July.

The romantic comedy follows a brokenhearted New York museum curator who starts collecting objects connected to breakups and writes about it on her blog. It marks Natalie Krinsky’s directorial debut and stars Blockers actress Geraldine Viswanathan, Stranger Things’ Dacre Montgomery, Pitch Perfect’s Utkarsh Ambudkar, and models Suki Waterhouse and Taylor Hill.

“Hearing from more female writers and directors is very much needed. Natalie is a wonderful talent and I am happy to be a part of her debut film,” Gomez said in a statement. “I understand people’s concerns regarding returning to activities we all loved prior to Covid-19. I hope everyone will listen to scientists’ recommendations and consider others’ health and safety while enjoying the movie theatre experience.”

Sony’s Motion Picture Group president Josh Greenstein added, “Now more than ever, The Broken Hearts Gallery will resonate with audiences ready for a feel-good moviegoing experience this summer. We have faith in a theatrical rebound, and we look forward to being there right out of the gate with our exhibition partners’ anticipated reemergence, as – and when – state-by-state safety guidelines are met.”

The thriller Unhinged, starring Russell Crowe, it set to be the first post-lockdown cinema release, with a U.S. opening on 1 July, but The Broken Hearts Gallery is set to be the first major studio release.

Executives have confirmed the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been cancelled for 2019.

After months of speculation about the annual spectacle, bosses at L Brands, the parent company of the U.S lingerie label, announced during a call with financial analysts on Thursday that the event will not happen this year.

“As communicated previously, we think it’s important to evolve the marketing of Victoria’s Secret, that is happening in certain respects now and I think there will be more to come,” explained L Brands’ chief financial officer Stuart Burgdoerfer. “And with that said, we’re figuring out how to advance the positioning of the brand and best communicate that to customers.”

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been held each year since 1995 to showcase the brand’s lingerie and sleepwear offerings.

Top models, including Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Karlie Kloss, Taylor Hill, as well as Bella and Gigi Hadid, have participated in recent events. However, the 2018 show, held in New York City, had the lowest TV ratings since its inception – causing leaders at the company to rethink the concept.

In a memo sent to employees in May, Les Wexner, chief executive officer of L Brands, indicated that the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show would no longer be broadcast on network TV.

“In 2019 and beyond, we’re focusing on developing exciting and dynamic content and a new kind of event – delivered to our customers on platforms that she’s glued to … and in ways that will push the boundaries of fashion in the global digital age,” he commented.

Earlier this week, Victoria’s Secret posted another quarter of declining sales. The brand has been hit by the growth of contemporary underwear labels like Third Love, Aerie, and Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty, while company leaders have also been accused of failing to embrace diversity and inclusivity in its marketing imagery and shows.

Taylor Hill has partnered with the team at Boohoo on a capsule collection.

The model is one of the most sought-after names in the fashion business, having walked the runway for the likes of Victoria’s Secret, Versace, Fendi, and Chanel.

Now, Hill has collaborated with designers at the online retailer on the Boohoo x Taylor Hill edit, with pieces reflecting her whimsical aesthetic.

“My personal style is laidback, eclectic, and comfortable. I love mixing current trends with vintage pieces in my closet to create a new look,” she said of her signature style.

The range also features romantic florals and embroideries in a colour palette of neutral tones, dusky pinks, emerald greens and mustard yellows.

Throughout the collection, textured fabrics and details including plaid suiting, embellished denim, ruffles, polka dot overlays and novelty lace sit against soft tailoring and feminine silhouettes.

Items are priced from $12 to $40 (£9 – £31) and are now available to purchase from the label’s website.

“I really admire how Boohoo is super inclusive – there is something for everyone and they’re always one step ahead with the trends and really affordable. You don’t have to break the bank to make your closet look fabulous,” the 23-year-old added.

Taylor also appears in the accompanying campaign, which was shot in Pasadena, California by Zoey Grossman. The launch was celebrated with a party at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday night, with the likes of Sofia Richie, Stella Maxwell, Jasmine Tookes, and Iskra Lawrence in attendance.

Taylor Hill’s new Ralph Lauren fragrance campaign was “extra fun” to shoot because she got to work with her boyfriend again.

The 23-year-old, who has a long-standing relationship with the designer, was tapped to front the imagery for the Romance fragrance alongside her longtime boyfriend Michael Stephen Shank in January, and the duo is now fronting the campaign for the brand’s new perfume, Beyond Romance.

The video shows Taylor and Michael partying in New York, where they live, embracing on a rooftop near the Empire State Building and setting off fireworks, and the Victoria’s Secret Angel told Us Weekly she felt at ease on the set because she didn’t have to fake chemistry with a stranger.

“It was comfortable,” she gushed. “It was extra fun because it wasn’t just some random person I hadn’t met before.”

The Ralph Lauren Beyond Romance Eau de Parfum was created by perfumer Honorine Blanc and boasts top notes of raspberry coulis, mandarin, bergamot as well as base notes of black vanilla, cashmeran, and white musks.

Taylor shared that the scent gives her “flashbacks of being a teenager and falling in love for the first time” and evokes the day of the photoshoot.

“When I smell Romance, I think of the shoot day. It was a day where I got to be a tourist in my city and go to the top of the building with the Empire State Building right in front of me,” the model stated.

During the interview, the Ralph Lauren fragrance ambassador also revealed that fragrances would make her sneeze as a child, her first favourite scent growing up was the laundry detergent Tide, and she applies her perfume to her neck, the back of her ears and her wrist before leaving the house each day.

Chiara Ferragni has launched her first capsule collection of cosmetics for Lancome.

The Italian fashion star has risen to prominence since launching her blog The Blonde Salad in 2009 and now boasts over 11 million followers on Instagram.

Chiara was named as Lancome’s latest muse last March, seeing her follow in the footsteps of Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, Taylor Hill, Lupita Nyong’o and Lily Collins, and on Monday, she unveiled her Lancome x Chiara Ferragni line on social media.

“This is such a milestone for me: my own capsule collection for @lancomeofficial, that is going to be available worldwide. Later in (Instagram) Stories (here it’s 5am) I’ll show you how the palette and products look like and all of the different sort of make-up looks you can achieve but for now, thank you for loving it and making me feel special,” she captioned a post on Instagram. “The #LancomexChiaraFerragni capsule is now available online (link in bio) and soon in stores all over the world and it’s better than in my dreams.”

The range features the Flirting Make-up Palette, which is made up of pink, red, and gold-toned eyeshadows and blushers, and contains three brushes. There is a black Hypnose Drama mascara too, as well as three new shades each of Lancome’s L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine lipstick and L’Absolu Lacquer gloss. Each item is presented in sparkly pink packaging with Chiara’s signature blinking eye logo, with prices ranging from $35 – $67 (£28 – £53).

Regarding the concept, Chiara told Harpersbazaar.com she was determined for the products to work with all skin tones.

“I feel like the palette, out of everything in the collection, defines what I feel about beauty,” the 32-year-old commented. “I love that you can achieve so many different looks by just buying one product, because it has a little bit of everything – whereas normally palettes just focus on one thing. It means you don’t have to carry around as many beauty products.”

The Lancome x Chiara Ferragni collection is now available to buy at Douglas stores in Italy and will roll out across Europe and the U.S. later in the year.

Prabal Gurung took fashion editors on a hippie trail for fall 19

Prabal Gurung fused together his Eastern roots with his Western life for his fall/ winter 19 collection.

Recruiting an army of famous models for his New York Fashion Week show on Sunday (10Feb19), including Bella Hadid, Ashley Graham, Winnie Harlow, Duckie Thot, Candice Swanepoel and Taylor Hill, the Nepali-American designer took inspiration from the Hippie trail – the name given to the journey between Europe and South Asia, mainly through Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Nepal from 1957 to 1978 – by members of the hippie subculture.

Stand out looks included Amanda Murphy’s hot pink and red belted smoking jacket, worn over slouchy dark trousers and a yellow and pink swirled top.

Graham modelled a similar print top, this time in yellow and turquoise, which was matched with a padded turquoise jacket, flowing skirt, and shin-high boots.

The colourful hippie pieces gave way to glam eveningwear when Hadid stepped onto the catwalk, wearing a low-cut, floor-sweeping black gown, which had black and white ruffling around the neckline and shoulders.

A shimmering brocade dress complete with pink feathers also brought the glam factor, while multicoloured feathers were utilised on a cute cocktail dress.

In his show notes, which in keeping with the brand’s pledge to be more sustainable, Gurung shared on Instagram rather than printing, he explained how he was influenced by his roots and trips back to Nepal.

Tory Burch also showed in the Big Apple on Sunday, and surprised fashion editors by taking her cue for F/W 19 from Black Mountain College – an experimental college founded in 1933 which closed two decades later.

“I’ve always been obsessed,” she said. “It really formed the trajectory of modern art in America. But what I loved about it was its progressive attitude. It wasn’t about gender or race. It was about sheer creativity and the confluence of all these different artists coming together. It’s where modern thinking should be today.”

The result of her obsession was an eclectic collection of clothes, which featured tailored looks as well as floaty, feminine dresses.

The colour palette was mainly muted, though there were splashes of yellow, red and orange in among the blacks, greys and whites.

On Monday, Carolina Herrera, Proenza Schouler and Anna Sui will all be a part of the catwalk schedule.

Ralph Lauren has served up Naval-inspired uniforms and sparkly dresses for spring/summer 2019.

The American designer unveiled his latest collection at his Ralph’s Cafe, which is housed within his Madison Avenue boutique, as part of New York Fashion Week on Thursday (07Jan19).

Celebrities including Karlie Kloss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Camilla Belle, Zazie Beetz, and Annabelle Wallis were in attendance, with all of the guests seated at tables positioned around the room for the show.

In a statement, a brand representative described the range as full of glamour.

“The spring 2019 collection celebrates a pure and powerful kind of luxury with punctuations of high contrast and sleek shine,” they said. “It’s a personal style that is sophisticated, confident, and glamorous.”

To open the spectacle, model Taylor Hill made a grand statement in a white Naval uniform-inspired blazer, complete with gold buttons, with the ensemble matched with gold hoop earrings and a pair of flowing white trousers. Carolyn Murphy followed in a crisp white dress which was cinched in at the waist with a wide black and gold belt, with Lauren going on to unveil a line of monochromatic numbers with uniform-inspired touches.

However, part way through the spectacle, the designer returned to his preppy roots, offering up a black sweater with a gold chevron design, white shirts, and black shift dresses, with many models carrying oversized black patent totes.

Some of the highlights of the collection included a pair of gold lame trousers, a black jumpsuit with spaghetti straps, a black and white flower print chiffon gown with crossover halter neckline, and a black beaded trench coat.

And Lauren upped the extravagance in the finale, having Bella Hadid sport a gold dress with long pleated skirt, while another model wowed in a flowing gold gown which looked like molten metal as she walked.

New York Fashion Week continues on Friday with shows from Brock Collection, Cushnie, and Jeremy Scott.

Iris Apfel has signed to IMG Models at the grand old age of 97.

The fashion favourite has enjoyed a career resurgence in recent years, working with brands like Macy’s, Kate Spade and MAC, both as a model and a designer.

IMG have now added her to its books, where she joins the likes of Alek Wek, Gigi Hadid, and Taylor Hill.

“I’m very excited. I never had a proper agent,” Iris told WWD. “I’m a do-it-yourself girl. I never expected my life would take this turn, so I never prepared for it.”

Iris, who has become synonymous with her bug-eyed glasses, chunky jewellery, and flamboyant clothes, added that her new career path is all thanks to a very famous fashion friend.

“It all just happened so suddenly, and I thought at my tender age, I’m not going to set up offices and get involved with all kinds of things. I thought it was a flash in the pan, and it’s not going to last. Somehow, people found me. People would just call. Tommy Hilfiger said that was no way to do it, and he put us together,” she shared. “I’m very excited and very grateful.”

Iris began her career at WWD before opening her own textile firm with late husband Carl.

In 2014, she was the subject of legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles’ feature Iris, which detailed her colourful life.

Ivan Bart, president of IMG Models, said: “Iris is an icon with immeasurable talent. She radiates creativity and inspiration and we’re so excited to explore new and unique opportunities with her, where her natural gifts can be shared with the world. At 97 years old, Iris continues to prove that age is just a number and shouldn’t be something that defines you.”

Taylor Hill has spoken candidly about her continuing struggles with acne.

The American model, who has recently landed gigs for the likes of Ralph Lauren and Victoria’s Secret, always looks picture-perfect when she appears in fashion campaigns or on the red carpet.

However, Taylor has now shared that dealing with hormonal acne breakouts is a continuing battle for her, and she invests a lot of time and effort in caring for her complexion.

“I struggle with acne, and I’ve struggled for a long time, probably since I was fifteen. Just because of make-up, travel, and hormones – I get my really bad breakouts around my period, usually,” she said in an interview with Allure. “For me, what really helped is that I do what I can, and I take care of my skin, I work for it. And, if I still break out, what am I going to do? I wash my face before I go to bed. I get facials and see a dermatologist.”

Taylor went on to explain that she visits Dr. Jason Diamond in Los Angeles for the Clear and Brilliant laser treatment, as she finds that it offers the “deepest” healing.

But she has come to terms with the idea that her skin can’t always be perfect, and is now more open to displaying blemishes in photos, like she did when she posted a barefaced selfie back in November (18).

“Everybody’s re-touching their images like crazy, and it’s not really fair to the girls. I’m not perfect, and I don’t try to be. So, I think it’s important to express that,” the 22-year-old insisted, adding that she was pleased the snap received so much positive feedback. “I think it’s so important to share that realness, and that part of my life, because I’m a human being. I’m a girl and it’s not easy being a woman.”
