Tracee Ellis Ross once sought out Naomi Campbell for advice prior to a major fashion show.

The Black-ish actress, who is the daughter of music icon Diana Ross, worked as a model in her late teens before making her big-screen debut in 1996 film Far Harbor.

Reflecting on her modelling career during an interview with Kendall Jenner and Harry Styles on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night, Tracee noted that she walked the runway in both of Thierry Mugler’s iconic early 1990s runway presentations during Paris Fashion Week, but was so anxious about one of the skimpy outfits the designer asked her to wear that she raced over to Naomi for her thoughts.

“I did the first year, the Butterfly (collection) year, and then I went back the second year with the motorcycle (corset) and all that,” she remembered. “I was terrified because my boobies were out, I was 19 years old. I was like, ‘My mom’s going to be furious, I can’t do this.’ So, I went to Naomi Campbell, who is a supermodel, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what to do, my mom’s going to get so mad at me because my boobs are out and this is the look that Thierry Mugler gave me. And she said, ‘Are you are model or are you a model? I said, ‘I’m a model.’ She said, ‘You wear what they give you.’ So, I was like, ‘Well, then I’ll wear it.'”

And Naomi’s pep talk worked, as Tracee felt a lot more confident once she hit the runway.

“I got to the end of the runway and I opened it up and I shook my t**s,” the 47-year-old laughed.

Kim Kardashian’s dress for the 2019 Met Gala dress originally had fake nipples attached.

The reality star made a splash at the annual gala in May when she stepped out in the custom wet-look Thierry Mugler number, but in a recent episode of her family’s TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which was filmed before the bash, Kim and her husband Kanye West appeared to have a disagreement over whether the outfit was “too sexy”.

Yet, during a recent appearance on The Real, the 39-year-old explained that the rapper wasn’t bothered about the ensemble, but the fake nipples on the front.

“Well, the dress initially… since I was wet coming out of the water, there were nipples attached to it,” commented Kim, adding that the discussion over the design must have been edited out of the programme. “I think, with editing…, I’m not sure if we actually put that part into that fight (on the show). He was really certain that he didn’t want that on the dress and had mentioned it multiple times. And that was still on there, so we did have that discussion.

“I obviously want to be appropriate for my children and there’s enough for them to see already. I could tone it down a little bit. I totally compromise.”

In the original episode, which aired last month, Kanye, 42, stated that he wasn’t thrilled about his wife showing off her body now that he’s “someone that’s married and in love and the father of what’s about to be four kids”.

His words prompted Kim to fire back, “The night before (the Met Gala) you’re going to come in here and say you’re not into the corset look? You’re giving me really bad anxiety… I don’t need any more negative energy.”

In conclusion, the brunette beauty stated: “You built me up to be a sexy person and have confidence! Just because you’re on a journey and you’re in a transformation, doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you!”

Kanye West has addressed the controversial comments he made about his wife Kim Kardashian’s 2019 Met Gala dress.

The 42-year-old rapper voiced his concerns over the reality star’s show-stopping couture Thierry Mugler creation that she wore to the prestigious fashion event in a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“I went through this transition where being a rapper, looking at all these girls and looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing their body off,'” Kanye explained to the cameras in the episode, which was filmed back in April. “I didn’t realise that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone who is married and the father of now… about to be four kids.”

“A corset is a form of underwear,” The Life of Pablo hitmaker told Kim. “You are my wife and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.”

But during an interview with Zane Lowe for his Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music, Kanye revealed that he struggles with his 39-year-old wife’s constant presence on social media.

“I suffer and I appreciate the suffering because we can feel a little bit of what Jesus experienced, but I suffer on social media,” he shared. “There are other married men that I know are happy to hear me say that.

“Social media prompts women, in particular, to put out content that they wouldn’t in the past. When I was younger and I wanted to see something like that I had to pay someone who was older… Now, I have friends who have kids in high school and it’s readily available.”

Kim has not yet responded to Kanye’s latest comments.

Kanye West gave Kim Kardashian “bad anxiety” ahead of the 2019 Met Gala by revealing he didn’t love her sexy look.

The reality TV star stunned at the annual event in a custom wet-look Thierry Mugler beige dress – which, after eight months of preparation, her Yeezy mogul husband wasn’t a fan of.

“Like the corset, underwear, all that vibe, I just feel like I just went through this transition of being a rapper, and lookin’ at all these girls… I didn’t realise that that was affecting like my soul and my spirit,” he said in Sunday’s instalment of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

After adding he’s not that into his wife showing off her body now that he’s “someone that’s married and in love and the father of what’s about to be four kids”, Kim fired back: “The night before you’re going to come in here and say you’re not into the corset look?

“You’re giving me really bad anxiety… I don’t need any more negative energy.”

While the rapper insisted it “affects” him when his wife’s pictures are “too sexy”, the KKW Beauty mogul told him: “You built me up to be a sexy person and have confidence! Just because you’re on a journey and you’re in a transformation, doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you!”

Ending the argument, Kanye calmly said, “Okay” and walked out of the room, as a stunned Kim said to her friends: “That’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Kim worried about how she’d fare going to the bathroom in the tight-fitting number, suggesting: “Honestly, if it’s an emergency, I think I pee my pants and then have my sister wipe my leg up.”

Kim Kardashian was furious after sister Kourtney Kardashian mocked the creation she selected to wear to an after-party following the 2019 Met Gala.

During Sunday night’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the mother-of-four called Kourtney on FaceTime while having a fitting with Manfred Thierry Mugler for the annual fashion event.

Showing off a curve-hugging turquoise minidress that the designer had made for her, Kim joked she might sport it to her sibling’s 40th birthday party, but then explained that the ensemble still needed to be altered.

“So, this will be all beaded obviously and all crystals,” the KKW Beauty mogul said.

“Are you coming as Nicki Minaj?” Kourtney fired back.

“This is Cher honey,” Kim answered, before the 40-year-old retorted: “I would say, is it October 31st (Halloween)?”

Later in the episode, the 38-year-old confessed she was embarrassed by her sister’s reaction because she was with the Mugler design team while on the phone with Kourtney.

“I have been planning my Met look since last year and she was just so rude in front of the whole Mugler team. ‘Ew! Oh my God. Is this Halloween?'” Kim said, mimicking her sister. “It’s all super embarrassing and I can’t even stomach it.”

The pair later fell out again after Kim discovered that Kourtney’s stylist Dani Michelle had been in contact with Mugler’s manager, Jean-Baptiste Rougeot, in an effort to get creations from the elusive Frenchman.

“For her to not only try to use the same designer but then to be so rude, it really hit me the wrong way,” Kim sighed.

Kim Kardashian wears shapewear every day to ‘feel secure’

Kim Kardashian wears shapewear every day so she can “feel secure” about her body.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star launched Skims, her very own solutionwear collection, earlier this month, with sales of the line reportedly topping $2 million (£1.6 million) in one day.

Now, Kim has revealed that she was inspired to create her own shapewear in an effort to combat body confidence issues she had, and confessed she would even wear two pairs of Spanx after welcoming her first two children; daughter North, six, and three-year-old son Saint.

“I use my shapewear as my lining, my slip,” she told PopSugar.com. “After I had kids, I would double up – I don’t think I’d have to do that now. But, I’m also the type that when I see really bad pictures of me in a bikini and see cellulite, I’ll think, ‘O.K., I’m finding a bodybuilder to work me out and really tighten me up.'”

Despite wearing daring outfits, including her barely-there Thierry Mugler couture gown for the 2019 Met Gala in May, Kim candidly shared she still has days where she doesn’t feel comfortable with her body.

“Body confidence for me isn’t just always masking it, it’s also saying, ‘O.K., I want to eat healthier, I want to motivate myself.’ I literally use shapewear as my normal bra and underwear. It is my every day, it is my, ‘I feel secure in it.’ In the weirdest way, it’s just become a part of my everyday life and has become a part of my clothes,” the 38-year-old stated. “It’s in the lining of my dresses and if I’m wearing a suit that has any wool in it, I have to wear solutionwear so that I’m not itching. It’s more than that even, shapewear is a layer of my clothes.”

Kim Kardashian found preparing for the 2019 Met Gala much more “nerve-wracking” than her wedding to Kanye West.

The TV personality turned heads at the camp-themed fashion event in May, when she turned up in a custom-made skin-tight beaded dress which was covered in droplet-shaped crystals that designer Thierry Mugler had come out of retirement to create for her.

But in spite of attending the prestigious gala several times before, in a new teaser clip for her family’s reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim explained she was feeling more anxious about the event than she did before her wedding to rapper Kanye in Florence, Italy in May 2014.

“It’s the morning of the Met, and I just keep on saying, ‘I don’t know why I have such anxiety for the Met, I feel this sense of pressure, responsibility,'” she commented to her make-up artists and glam squad. “This is like probably as nerve-wracking as my wedding like I don’t know why I get so nervous for the Met. Maybe even more so, just because there’s pictures from every single angle.”

Kim went on to note that she also felt a lot of pressure to achieve Thierry’s vision, especially as working with the Frenchman was a “dream come true”.

“It’s a huge responsibility for me because he, I’m sure after not designing for 20 years, wants it to be something magical and special and new… I just want it to be perfect,” the 38-year-old mused.

In the clip, Kim was also shown participating in a group prayer circle with her team as they cinched her into the tight corset of her dress, which the mother-of-four previously revealed required her to undertake special breathing lessons to wear.

To conclude the teaser, the star reflected on the different Met Galas she has attended over the years, including her first time when she was “just Kanye’s plus one” in 2013, before receiving her own invitation the following year after appearing on the April 2014 cover of U.S. Vogue with her beau.

“I’m gonna say, ‘Year seven: cover girl. We officially made it,'” she smiled, referring to her April 2019 cover of the fashion publication.

Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala corset left her with painful indentations on her back and stomach.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wore a skintight number equipped with a corset that showed off her tiny waist as she hit the red carpet at the annual event in May, and now the brunette beauty has revealed the Thierry Mugler look took its toll on her physically, leaving her in agony.

“I have never felt pain like that in my life,” Kim told The Wall Street Journal. “I’ll have to show you pictures of the aftermath when I took it off – the indentations on my back and my stomach.”

The 38-year-old also addressed speculation that she had a rib removed to squeeze into the outfit, stating, “I don’t even know if that’s possible,” and promised the pieces from her own shapewear line are far more comfortable.

“The feeling when I had to wear that corset, is not that,” she added. “It’s the second skin that makes me feel comfortable and cosy and all smoothed.”

Kim’s waist-shrinking piece, made by the famous corsetier Mr. Pearl, was criticised by commenters on social media, who felt that the mother-of-four was promoting unrealistic beauty standards with her “unnatural” figure.

The dress took around eight months to make and gave the illusion that Kim had stepped out of the ocean and was dripping wet. She also sported wet look hair and glistening skin as she posed for photographers outside The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in May.

Speaking to Vogue about her ensemble, Kim explained at the time, “This is the first time in 20 years Mr. Mugler has designed for the House of Mugler. So to come and design this gown for me is such an honour. He envisioned me this California girl stepping out of the ocean, wet, dripping.”

L’Oreal executives are in talks to buy the Mugler and Azzaro brands from Clarins Group.

On Tuesday, bosses from the French cosmetics giant announced they had entered into exclusive negotiations with leaders from Clarins with a view to acquiring both companies.

“The perfume category is at the heart of our global strategy for growth at L’Oreal Luxe,” Cyril Chapuy, president of L’Oreal Luxe, said in a statement. “In this context, we would be thrilled to welcome Mugler and Azzaro: these signatures, with a long history in fashion and olfaction, would perfectly complete our portfolio of brands.”

At present, the Clarins Group develops both the Mugler and Azzaro houses globally. The deal remains some time from completion, as the acquisition will be subject to consultation with employee representatives and the approval of the regulatory authorities, though Chapuy noted that it should be completed by the end of the year. L’Oreal did not disclose any financial details.

French fashion designer Thierry Mugler first approached Clarins about making a perfume in the early 1990s, with Angel launching in 1992.

The scent contains a combination of praline and chocolate mixed with a strong accord of patchouli and has since led to the creation of many other versions, while Mugler unveiled his second major fragrance, Alien, in 2005, and his third pillar scent, Aura, in 2017.

While late designer and perfumer Loris Azzaro, who founded his namesake company in 1967, is known for Azzaro pour Homme, which was launched in 1978 and designed to appeal for women.

Azzaro is also known for Chrome, a woody fragrance characterised by an aquatic freshness, and 2016’s Azzaro Wanted, a woody spicy hesperidia scent with captivatingly elegant lingering notes.

Thierry Mugler is directing a ballet which will premiere in London in December.

The famed fashion designer left fashion in 2002 and has occasionally been tempted to make a return, with him recently coming out of retirement to create Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala look in May.

Over the passing years, he has been focusing on his other passions, such as dance, and in a chat with The Birds actress Tippi Hedren for Interview magazine, Mugler revealed that he was directing a ballet to star Svetlana Zakharova from the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia.

“I’m going to be directing a ballet with one of the most brilliant contemporary dance choreographers, Wayne McGregor. It’ll be me, Wayne, and Svetlana. Tippi, come to the December premiere in London,” he said.

The 70-year-old, who worked with the Ballet de l’Opera national du Rhin in France in his teenage years, went on to gush about the Russian ballerina.

“I’m working with the ultimate ballerina, the most beautiful of all time, Svetlana Zakharova from the Bolshoi Ballet,” Mugler praised. “Her beauty is beyond what we’ve ever seen before, and there really will never be another one like her. You can be the most incredible dancer, a technical and inspired dancer, but if you don’t have the right foot, the right ankle, the right knee, the right proportion, the right neck – she has everything.”

The French designer and bodybuilder has radically transformed his appearance, and he explained that dance showed him there is no limit to what you can do with your body.

“It showed me that there are no limits. When you do intense stretching the way I do, it’s sort of a meditation. And as time progresses, you realise it’s infinite. You die before you reach the end of your perfect technique, and then we become something else, so it is truly infinite,” he shared.
