Gwyneth Paltrow is gearing up to release a follow-up to her controversial This Smells Like My Vagina candle.

The actress/entrepreneur launched the product on her Goop website earlier this year, and soon after, the candle was completely sold-out – with curious customers having to sign up to a waiting list to get their hands on one.

And following the huge amount of interest in the product, Gwyneth announced during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night that she will soon be unveiling a new addition to the range called This Smells Like My Orgasm.

“You’re always kind of in the news, one way or another, and the one thing I saw that was a big thing, was that you had a candle. The name of the candle, it was sold out…,” said Jimmy, before The Avengers star continued: “This Smells Like My Vagina… It’s pretty funny. The idea was sort of like a punk rock, feminist, kind of like… and we have a new one, which actually might be more for you to give to your wife.”

Gwyneth then held up the new candle to the camera with the full label on display.

The This Smells Like My Orgasm candle is currently available to pre-order on the Goop website and is expected to begin shipping on 25 June. It is priced at $75 (£59).

Developed by perfumer Douglas Little, the candle is described as featuring notes of “tart grapefruit, neroli, and ripe cassis berries blended with gunpowder tea and Turkish rose absolutes for a scent that’s sexy, surprising, and wildly addictive”.

Gwyneth Paltrow has described her unique new candle as a “feminist statement”.

The actress/entrepreneur launched the $75 (£58) product, cheekily called This Smells Like My Vagina, on her Goop website earlier this year. Soon after, the candle was completely sold-out, with curious customers having to sign up to a waiting list to get their hands on one.

But during an interview for Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, Gwyneth shared that while the concept originally started out as a joke, she’s pleased with the message it conveys.

“So, Douglas Little, who is the owner of Heretic Parfum, we’re very close friends and we work together a lot – he does all of our fragrances. One day, we were smelling different fragrances and I was joking around, I smelled something, and I said, ‘This smells like my vagina,’ as a joke. But then I was like, ‘Wouldn’t be cool if somebody actually had the guts to do that. What a punk rock feminist statement to have that on your table?'” she stated. “And then he made it! I thought he just made me one as a joke but then, next thing I know, it was on my website.”

The candle, which is now back in stock online, features notes of geranium, bergamot, cedar, Damask rose, and ambrette seed.

And after some questioning from host Jimmy, the 47-year-old confirmed: “It’s not really supposed to smell like a vagina. A lot of women have grown up with a certain degree of shame or embarrassment around this part.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Gwyneth divulged that she was amused to find other brands already making their own versions.

“There was a Canadian candle company that made a candle called This Smells Like My Balls. And it was 25 per cent more expensive than this because of the wage gap!” she smiled.
