Jessica Simpson was heartbroken after a photo of her wearing “mom jeans” during a performance went viral.

Back in 2009, the I Wanna Love You Forever singer took to the stage for a gig in South Carolina while sporting high-waisted denim trousers, a black tank top, and a leopard-print belt.

Though Jessica felt “very confident” in the look, the press that followed was negative, and she was heavily criticised for her apparent weight gain.

“This picture that circulated and went worldwide broke my heart. Not the picture necessarily, but the caption. Like, all the captions… It was just viral,” she shared during an interview on U.S. breakfast show Today, adding of headlines mocking her appearance: “I was taken down by the world.”

Jessica was a U.S. size four, the equivalent of a U.K. size eight, at the time. Accordingly, she was horrified at the way she was being so openly bullied in the media.

“It was about my size, and it was like, ‘She’s not Daisy Duke anymore,'” the 39-year-old said, referencing her role in the 2005 movie adaptation of The Dukes of Hazzard, in which she famously showed off her legs in tiny denim shorts. “All these insecurities from my past started coming back about being good enough and being skinny enough.”

However, the blonde beauty reserved her biggest concerns for her then-boyfriend, former American football star Tony Romo.

“I always felt confident when I was with Tony, but I was like, ‘Oh gosh, what are all the guys gonna say in the locker room to him? How is this gonna affect him?’, before I even thought about myself,” she recalled.

Jessica, who is now happily married to retired athlete Eric Johnson, details her life-long issues with her weight in her new memoir, Open Book, in which she dedicates a whole chapter to the incident and its aftermath, titled Death By Mom Jeans.

Kim Cattrall won’t be ‘bullied’ into making Sex and the City 3

Kim Cattrall has reignited her feud with Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sex and the City producers by accusing them of “bullying” her to star in a third movie.

The actress, who played vamp Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City television series and two movies, has previously spoken out about her decision not to return for another film – and now she insists it’s high time for her co-stars and former bosses to move on without her.

In a new interview with The Guardian’s Observer magazine, Cattrall commented, “I went past the finish line playing Samantha Jones because I loved Sex and the City. It was a blessing in so many ways but after the second movie, I’d had enough. I couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t just replace me with another actress instead of wasting time bullying. No means no.”

Cattrall recently took another swipe at Parker in an interview with Mail Online, insisting she wants to work with “good people” moving forward.

Asked if she’d ever considered a Sex and the City return, the 62-year-old replied: “Never. It’s a no from me… You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.”

Parker and her other Sex and the City co-stars, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, had previously indicated they would be interested in starring in the follow-up to 2010’s Sex and the City 2.

Yet, the Divorce actress has since confirmed that any further plans have been shelved, even though a script had been completed.

“We were excited about it,” she shared of the third film in a chat with U.S. breakfast show Today in late 2018. “I thought it was an exquisite, unbearably painful, heartbreaking, joyful story, that felt like the beginning in a lot of ways, but it appears for the time being that that will have to be sufficient, just having read the script will have to be enough for me… Sorry!”

Emily Ratajkowski has learned to brush off comments about her “weird” bellybutton.

The model/actress is a champion of body positivity and regularly posts shots of her posing in barely-there swimwear on Instagram.

But while Emily is one of the most beautiful women in the world, she often receives mean messages about the shape of her belly button, with the comments extending all the way back to when she was a child.

“It’s sort of a half-innie-outie. I got made fun of for it in elementary school, so it was a long road to loving my bellybutton,” she said in a recent interview for the U.S. Today programme. “I remember being very triggered hearing that “it looks like a peace sign” when I was, like, seven years old. Or I would hear, “Oh, what happened to your mom when she had you,” or “What went wrong when you were born that you have such a weird bellybutton.”

Emily went on to explain that she isn’t so bothered by the attention now, and will even poke fun at her bellybutton herself.

Yet, the brunette star does find it strange that online trolls find the need to post something rude about her body every time she uploads a snap to promote her Inamorata swimwear line on social media.

“I get so many comments. I’m sure on every picture where you can see my bellybutton on Instagram, there’s probably at least five bellybutton comments. But, like, my bellybutton? That’s just such a funny thing to even think about; we can’t take it too seriously,” the 28-year-old sighed, adding: “The comments I get on Instagram are insane. I get all kinds of body-shaming comments. They criticise everything about me and in every direction. It’s like too skinny, too fat, too short, too tall, ribs stick out, lips are too big, nose is weird, whatever. I just really have learned to ignore them, but it’s not easy.”

Beanie Feldstein has praised Olivia Wilde’s “fresh and honest” take on directing.

In new film Booksmart, the Lady Bird actress plays Molly, with Kaitlyn Dever taking on the part of her friend Amy.

The plot focuses on how the girls set out to finally break the rules and party on their last day of high school classes, and Beanie has lauded first-time feature filmmaker Olivia on her approach to her cast and the material.

“She never pushed anyone into this certain idea of what she had for a scene or a moment – she let everyone’s natural energy come to the table,” she said in an interview with WWD. “And then she just celebrated it.”

Beanie went on to explain how pleased she is with the way in which Booksmart defies convention by giving women the opportunity to be the “comedic part” of the story.

She also enjoyed developing her character, and even sees some aspects of her own personality onscreen.

“(Molly) is sort of like Paris Geller (from Gilmore Girls) meets Lisa Simpson (from The Simpsons) with a little bit of Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality. I liked the idea of showing that a girl can be silly and loose with her friends and also be really intense and kind of biting at school,” the 25-year-old smiled.

Previously, Olivia shared in an interview with U.S. breakfast show Today that she had Beanie and Kaitlyn live together for the duration of the production, so they really connected onscreen.

“It was necessary because they’re supposed to be playing best friends for 10 years and I needed that kind of layered friendship that’s deep. You know, (like) you’ve watched someone grow up,” she explained. “So, they lived together all through pre-production and production.”

Booksmart, also featuring Billie Lourd, Lisa Kudrow and Olivia’s partner Jason Sudeikis, is now showing in U.S. cinemas.

Actress Alison Brie relies on an $8 (£6) skincare regime to achieve her flawless glow.

The brunette beauty recently revealed she swears by Lucas Papaw Ointment, an affordable product with a cult following, because it combats dry skin and other winter issues. Made in Australia, the item is a must have for women who care about skincare around the globe.

The star of wrestling drama G.L.O.W. star shared her beauty routine during an interview with the Today show on Wednesday (02Jan19), hoping to sell others on the miracle lotion.

“It’s made from papaya,” she shared. “It’s an Australian product. I use it for my lips or when my face is dry. I (also) use it to take off makeup.”

In addition to serving as a moisturiser, Lucas Papaw Oitment can also be used to treat blemishes, cuts and burns. Made from Aussie papaws, or papaya, it was created over 100 years ago and uses ingredients like pharmaceutical grade petroleum jelly and wax.

Brie also favours the face mist Caudalie, which hydrates the skin and retails for just $10 (£8).

“And I love Caudalie – their spray,” she noted. “The mist. It’s the best. I don’t travel without it. I use it every day. I use it first thing in the morning. I use it to set the makeup. I use it midday (as well) to give myself a refresh.”

The 36 year old admits beauty and fitness related purchases have become her staples when travelling and on location – and they are among her biggest splurges.

She added, “Honestly, I spend most of my money on fitness or food.”

Sarah Jessica Parker’s new movie wig was from Sex and the City

Sarah Jessica Parker brought back a piece of her Sex and the City wardrobe for new movie Here and Now by recycling one of her character’s first wigs.

For the romantic drama, in which the actress stars as a jazz singer who receives a fatal diagnosis, Sarah Jessica’s typically long hair is styled into a wavy shoulder-length bob, which she reveals was actually a wig.

But it wasn’t just any old hair piece; the 53 year old first wore it onscreen 20 years ago for her TV debut as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw.

“That was a wig that I wore as Carrie Bradshaw when she arrives in New York and she’s got like, a cut sweatshirt and a bad perm…,” Parker recalled on U.S. breakfast show Today.

“I kept all those (wigs from the show), so I was like, ‘Oh, I know what I have…’ I think it was in a storage unit in Brooklyn somewhere.”

The prop came in handy for filmmakers as the independent movie was made on such a small budget, unlike the Sex and the City blockbusters the actress, who also serves as a producer, had previously worked on.

The fact that Sarah Jessica had held on to her Carrie wigs shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans, as she previously explained she had “95 per cent” of her onscreen wardrobe, much of which was made up of designer duds, archived away.

“I have it all,” she smiled during an interview at New York’s 2017 Vulture Festival. “I don’t touch it or wear it, but all of that is really meaningful.”

Swedish stunner Elsa Hosk has been chosen to model the coveted Fantasy Bra at the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The runway beauty has been walking in the lingerie brand’s annual shows since 2011, and this time, the Victoria’s Secret Angel will be showing off her assets in the diamond-encrusted Dream Angels Fantasy Bra, which is worth $1 million (£766,500).

“It’s so exciting, I’m nervous already!” Elsa exclaimed as she announced the news on U.S. breakfast show Today. “It’s my eighth show, but I’ve never had the honour of wearing the Fantasy Bra yet, so it’s a big one.”

The pricey item boasts over 2,100 Swarovski diamonds for a total of 71 carats, all set in sterling silver, and although Elsa admits the bra itself isn’t too comfortable, she won’t be complaining.

“I mean, I don’t mind,” she shared. “For this, I’ll do it!”

Elsa follows in the footsteps of Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro, who was selected to wear the Fantasy Bra at last year’s fashion spectacular in Shanghai, China.

They will join fellow Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Stella Maxwell, and Jasmine Tookes, as well as models Bella and Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, among others, when they strut their stuff on the catwalk for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City on Thursday (08Nov18). It will air in the U.S. on 2 December.

Meanwhile, Elsa has also modelled a new version of the Dream Angels Fantasy Bra for fans to purchase for the first time.

The less expensive take on the lingerie, which is made in a similar style and covered with Swarovski crystals, comes with a $250 (£190) price tag and is set to launch on 29 November.

Christian Slater helped put a teenage Ethan Hawke at ease when they met at an audition.

Both men started their careers at a young age and went on to find fame as actors.

While they’re yet to film a project together, Christian met Ethan before they both hit the big time, with the Training Day star reminding him when he presented a recent episode of America’s Today show.

“(It’s) something I never thought I would be comfortable doing,” the 48-year-old told Mr Porter of the hosting gig. “But I do seem to enjoy it. It’s like kind of working at your own private island. Because everybody comes to you. Ethan Hawke came by today. He has a movie that he directed (Blaze), won a lot of awards at Sundance. And he said, ‘Hey. We met a long time ago.’ And I was like, ‘Really? I don’t remember.’

“He was about 14, auditioning for this movie. And I guess I was the reader, the guy off-camera. I was 15. My mother must have been involved because she’s a casting director. He said that I was very cool, smoking a cigarette off-camera. I helped to put him at ease.”

During the Today show chat, Ethan, 47, told co-host, Hoda Kotb, that he also first met Philip Seymour Hoffman in a similar way.

Asked what Ethan’s first impressions were of Christian, who already had quite a few acting credits to his name, he admitted: “That he was the coolest person I’d ever seen.”

“I’m not kidding,” he continued as Christian grinned. “I told my friend that I went on this audition, this guy’s like James Dean or something. Because you were so cool! I remember you said to me ‘You nervous? Don’t be, these people are suckers you’re going to do great’. You were really encouraging.”

Gordon Ramsay sheds 50 pounds to avoid same fate as late father

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was scared into getting in shape after realising he was fast approaching the same age his father was when he died from a heart attack.

The Hell’s Kitchen star recently shed 50 pounds (22.7 kilograms) after his wife, Tana, encouraged him to do something about his gradually expanding waistline, having become accustomed to “grazing” on food throughout the day while working at his multiple restaurants and on his various TV shows.

“Gordon’s famous for being blunt so you know, I just gave him a little bit of his own medicine and basically suggested that he was getting a little wide around his middle,” Tana Ramsay explained on breakfast show Today.

“He got really angry with me when I came up with the saying, ‘Little pickers wear bigger knickers (panties)!'”

She helped Gordon revamp his diet and embark on a new exercise regimen, through which he managed to get his weight down to 220 pounds (99.7 kilograms).

“I’m very good now at eating five times a day but small amounts, as opposed to big breakfast…, light lunch, and a big dinner,” the 51-year-old said.

Another big motivator was the unexpected loss of his dad, Gordon Sr., who suffered a fatal heart attack in 1997 – and the father-of-four didn’t want to repeat history.

“(I’ve) never really shared this with the kids, but my father passed at 53 – that’s three years away (sic) from where I am now,” acknowledged the chef, as Tana admitted the thought of losing her husband at the same age was “scary”.

“I was just coming into 30 years of age, that’s a big influence gone,” Gordon continued of his dad’s death. “I want to set that example (to my kids). I never got to spend that quality time with my father… That man never ever ate in my restaurant, and that pains me today…”

Will Smith and his son Jaden are expanding their eco-friendly water venture by introducing a new flavoured beverage to the product line.

The stars founded the JUST water company in 2015 with spring water bottled in paper-based cartons in a bid to help reduce the amount of plastic waste across the globe.

Now company officials are preparing to add JUST Infused to their offerings, featuring three organic, unsweetened water flavours in Apple Cinnamon, Tangerine, and Lemon.

“JUST is about upending bottled water, both in packaging and sourcing. We’ve created a product sourced according to an innovative, ethical system and bottled it in a carton made from 82 per cent renewable resources rather than plastic,” Ira Laufer, CEO of JUST, explained to bevnet.com. “JUST Infused gives us the opportunity to continue that mission in a broader and more flavourful way.”

Musician/actor Jaden Smith, 19, notes the new beverages are just the start for the company, which he was inspired to create after noticing how littered the Pacific Ocean was with plastic trash as a kid.

Jaden also hopes to one day churn out pieces of furniture made from the sustainable material he uses for JUST products and he is already using the idea to encourage other youths to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

“I go to schools and I bring them tables… that are made out of plant-based plastics, and I deliver to them to inspire them to read and I also talk to them about how it’s so important to learn about trash and learn about recycling,” he told breakfast show Today. “I just like to go to schools, give back, talk to kids about creativity, fashion, and sustainability.”
