Actress Bridget Moynahan treasures a pair of motorcycle boots she bought following her split from American footballer Tom Brady because it represented taking back control of her life amid the paparazzi nightmare.

The Blue Bloods star dated the top quarterback for two years until December, 2006, and two months later, it was revealed that she was pregnant – and Brady, who had already moved on with his now-wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was the child’s father.

The bombshell news turned Bridget into a paparazzi target, and during one shopping trip at the height of the relationship drama, she found a little comfort in a fashionable new purchase – and she’s kept them ever since.

Bridget has shared the history of the boots in her new book, Our Shoes, Our Selves: 40 Women, 40 Stories, 40 Pairs of Shoes, in which she and a number of other top female professionals reveal all about their most beloved piece of footwear.

“I did buy a pair of motorcycle boots that I found in Los Angeles during a very crazy time that I was being kind of hounded by the paparazzi…,” she recalled on TV show Live with Kelly and Ryan.

“I was just feeling very assaulted, and when I got into the store, I saw these boots that just resonated with me from my time on the East Coast and who I used to be before this whole thing (baby drama) happened,” she added. “I bought them, put them on, and decided to take a little bit of my life back in that moment.

“I’ve had them on for 12 years now. They’re kinda comfort food for my feet.”

The actress came up with the idea for the new book while clearing out her New York City storage unit, which had been stuffed full of old shoes she was planning to donate.

“I kept pulling them out of that pile and saying, ‘But I love these, I can’t get rid of these,’ and I didn’t know why because I was never wearing them, and it came down to memories…,” she shared.

“So I thought, ‘I’ll photograph them so at least I can look at them later and not be paying for the storage unit’. And then I talked to my friend, Amanda Benchley, who I did the book with, and we thought, ‘Maybe other women have the same (experience)’.”

Among the noted women interviewed for Our Shoes, Our Selves was late U.S. First Lady Barbara Bush, who opened up about her collection of Keds, the popular casual canvas sneakers with rubber soles.

“Barbara Bush did this wonderful story on these Keds shoes,” Bridget said. “She just loved Keds shoes, and people would send her Keds shoes from all over the world and sometimes paint on them and everything.

“It was just a special thing for me to have her in the book, and for her to do that story, because I went there once, to visit her (in Texas) and I lost my luggage, so I had to borrow things, and Barbara gave me some Keds shoes to wear. It was just very sweet; she’s such a beautiful woman.”

Our Shoes, Our Selves: 40 Women, 40 Stories, 40 Pairs of Shoes is released on 9 April (19).

Gisele Bundchen is certain the #MeToo movement has the power to “unite” women around the globe.

The Brazilian supermodel retired from runway modelling back in 2015 but continues to appear in editorials and campaigns and also released her book Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life last year (18).

In her story, Gisele opened up about her experiences in the competitive fashion industry, however, she is hoping that models will soon become much more supportive of one another, especially in light of the #MeToo movement fighting sexual harassment and assault which is sweeping the entertainment industry.

“I come from a family of six strong, beautiful women. The way I grew up, we always supported each other, we helped each other, we loved each other. But when I left home, that’s not what I felt with the other models. I did not understand why anyone would not want the best for me, when I wanted the best for everybody,” she said in an interview with Porter magazine. “This #MeToo movement has united women. It’s a beautiful thing. We are stronger when we are together… It makes me wonder why we weren’t being like this before.”

In her book, Gisele opened up on a wide range of topics, including her struggles with anxiety, her former relationships, such as with actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and how she met her husband, American football quarterback Tom Brady, whose team the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl for the sixth time on Sunday (03Feb19).

But it took the 38-year-old a long time to realise that she should merge all of her old letters and experiences into a book, especially considering how she was constantly asked by fans and friends for life advice.

“I’d be at, like, the dentist. He’d say, ‘Oh, Gisele, my niece is going through this tough time, would you write something?’ It was kind of funny; it’d be the most random moments,” the mother-of-two recalled of her inspiration for the project. “If I could allow myself to feel vulnerable and share, they would see that there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel…The letters seemed to really help these girls. One started an anti-bullying programme in school; another stopped being bulimic.”

Gisele Bundchen’s first experience of modelling was a course her mother sent her on to correct her terrible posture.

The Brazilian supermodel opened up about her early years as part of the Wall Street Journal’s weekly House Call feature, in which she reflected on her childhood and current domestic life. Though now considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, Gisele is adamant that she never prioritised her looks as a youngster and was more interested in playing sports. But at 5 ft 9 by the time she reached her teens, she was a foot taller than her peers and was bullied as a result.

“When I was 13, my mother worried about my posture. I was being teased at school about my height, so I was hunching over,” the 38-year-old recalled. “My mum wanted me to be confident. She enrolled me, Pati and Gabi (her sisters) in a local modelling course. At the end of the course in 1994, the 50 girls in the class, along with five mothers including my mum, took a long bus trip to visit Curitiba, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. It was a reward.”

It was in Sao Paulo that Gisele was discovered by Elite Model Management and persuaded to take part in her first modelling competition.

Having enjoyed an immensely successful fashion career, the Brazilian star has since taken a step back from modelling and now prioritises spending time with her family – sports star husband Tom Brady, nine-year-old son Benjamin and six-year-old daughter Vivian, as well as her 11-year-old stepson John whom Tom shares with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

“I’m still my mother’s child,” Gisele insisted. “Even though we have help at home, my children have chores. I’m teaching them that things don’t just happen. They have to make their beds and fold their clothes. I tell them, ‘Clothes don’t have legs.'”

Gisele Bundchen will always regret undergoing her top secret 2015 boob job.

The Brazilian supermodel has revealed she went through a crisis of confidence after giving birth to her children – eight-year-old Benjamin and five-year-old Vivian – back to back, and decided to go under the knife. She made sure the operation was low-key and no one outside her family knew about it, but has now admitted that she regretted her decision immediately.

“I was always praised for my body, and I felt like people had expectations from me that I couldn’t deliver,” she explained in an interview with People magazine. “I felt very vulnerable, because I can work out, I can eat healthy, but I can’t change the fact that both of my kids enjoyed the left boob more than the right. All I wanted was for them to be even and for people to stop commenting on it.”

“When I woke up (after the surgery), I was like, ‘What have I done?’ I felt like I was living in a body I didn’t recognise,” the 38-year-old added. “For the first year I wore (loose-fitting) clothes because I felt uncomfortable.”

However, Gisele is lucky that her husband of nine years, sportsman Tom Brady, made sure she felt beautiful when she was at her lowest.

“He just said, ‘I love you no matter what’ and that I looked beautiful,” she smiled. “This was definitely another lesson: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. But I wish I would have learned that a different way.”

The fashion icon opens up about her insecurities and other issues in her new memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, which will be released next week (beg01Oct18).

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen once grappled with suicide as she battled anxiety issues.

The Brazilian beauty decided to go public with her private struggles in her new memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, because she wanted fans to see that even her life has been far from perfect at times.

“Things can be looking perfect on the outside, but you have no idea what’s really going on (sic),” she tells People magazine. “I felt like maybe it was time to share some of my vulnerabilities, and it made me realise everything I’ve lived through, I would never change, because I think I am who I am because of those experiences.”

Gisele reveals she experienced her first panic attack on a plane flight in 2003, and the drama left her fearful of enclosed spaces. She also felt her fast-rising career made the world seem smaller.

“I had a wonderful position in my career, I was very close to my family, and I always considered myself a positive person, so I was really beating myself up,” she adds. “I felt like I wasn’t allowed to feel bad, I felt powerless. Your world becomes smaller and smaller, and you can’t breathe, which is the worst feeling I’ve ever had.”

And the 38 year old started to think the best way to deal with the panic attacks was to end her life.

“I actually had the feeling of, ‘If I just jump off my balcony, this is going to end, and I never have to worry about this feeling of my world closing in (again)’,” she explains.

She turned to a doctor who initially prescribed her anxiety medicine, but Bundchen did not want to take the medication and instead decided to change her lifestyle.

“I had been smoking cigarettes, drinking a bottle of wine and three mocha Frappucinos every day, and I gave up everything in one day,” she adds. “I thought, if this stuff is in any way the cause of this pain in my life, it’s gotta go.”

Gisele, who is now married to U.S. football star Tom Brady, also ended her romance with long-time love Leonardo DiCaprio in 2005.

“Everyone who crosses our path is a teacher, they come into our lives to show us something about ourselves,” she says. “And I think that’s what he was… I honour him for what he was.”

Gigi Hadid wowed in Versace as she led the fashion flock at the 2018 Met Gala.

The exclusive event took place on Monday night (07May18) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and was attended by the biggest names in the fashion and showbiz worlds.

The theme of this year’s rendezvous was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, and the 23-year-old put her spin on it with a gown inspired by the stained glass windows of a church.

Her dress consisted of a series of shimmering segments all seamlessly meshed in an eye-catching cut-out design. The glamorous piece also featured an asymmetrical twist by removing a sleeve and adding a thigh-high slit. Gigi kept all attention on the dress with a simple, sleek hairstyle and dainty drop earrings.

The spectacle also marked British supermodel Kate Moss’ first time at the event since 2009. She opted for a black halter mini dress by Saint Laurent, and accessorised with burlesque-like feathers over her shoulders, and pleated detailing down the chest.

The 44-year-old, who reportedly hasn’t set foot in the U.S. for nine years, added a personal touch to her outfit with a black leather jacket which displayed the words ‘Make America Kate Again,’ a play on the famous campaign slogan of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The fashion clan were joined by Brazilian star Gisele Bundchen, who was accompanied on the red carpet by husband Tom Brady.

Like Gigi, the 37-year-old also turned to Versace and showcased a stunning gold gown made of silk.

A chiffon-like piece of fabric was wrapped around her neck, while a lace veil glammed up the back of the ensemble.

Tom, 40, matched his wife with gold piping on the lapels of his black suit, which he slung over a dark turtleneck sweater.

Fellow models Cara Delevingne and Adwoa Aboah both showcased bold neon hairstyles at the bash, while Hailey Baldwin rocked pale pink tresses enhanced by a pretty flower garland.

Gisele Bundchen’s quarterback husband is more into fashion than her

Gisele Bundchen reckons her American football player husband Tom Brady is a bigger fashion fan than she is.

The supermodel was one of the first Brazilians to achieve international success in the industry, having walked the catwalk for the likes of Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino.

Working with the biggest fashion names means Gisele knows her stuff when it comes to style, but in spite of her expertise, Tom has never needed any fashion advice from his wife.

“I’ve never in my life told him to wear anything,” she said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “You should see our closets… It’s so funny. I would say that he likes fashion more than I like fashion. I would say he’s changed his haircut in one year more than I’ve changed in my whole life.”

Gisele married the New England Patriots quarterback in 2009, and they’re proud parents to eight-year-old son Benjamin and daughter Vivian, five. The model is also stepmother to Tom’s son John, 10, from his previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.

During her chat with the publication, 37-year-old Gisele later shared that, in spite of her killer body, she is partial to the occasional sweet treat, and the whole family have developed a love for Dunkin’ Donuts since Tom suggested they bring a box to Benjamin’s hockey practice.

“It’s become a thing that we bring it,” she explained. “Do you know those things called Munchkins (Donut Holes)? Oh, my God. I cannot have one (Munchkin). I have to have, like, 10. They’re so tiny… it’s a guilty pleasure.”

The fashion icon also insisted that she’d never force Tom to retire from playing in the National Football League (NFL), even though she admits the dangerous sport does cause her concerns for his health.

“He has a laser focus on just winning and being the best, and I said, ‘You know what? This is what you’re doing right now in your life, and you need to feel complete in it,'” she said.

Gisele Bundchen has showcased a barefaced look for the latest cover of Vogue Italia.

The Brazilian supermodel retired from runway modelling back in April 2015, but continues to appear in editorials and campaigns, including Versace’s spring/summer 2018 marketing imagery, also starring Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Kaia Gerber.

For her latest gig, Gisele has been tapped to front the February 2018 edition of the Italian fashion publication, with one cover image showing a close-up image of her face, and the other a portrait of her in a kitchen wearing a red knit sweater and Bugs Bunny slippers.

“Sunday early morning with no hair, no makeup at home for @vogueitalia,” she captioned the cover images posted on her Instagram page on Thursday (01Feb18).

The shoot was overseen by creative director Giovanni Bianco and photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth, with Gisele apparently having input in the styling of her outfits.

In an accompanying video for the shoot, the 37-year-old is seen looking through old photographs, and at one point, laughs as she reminiscences about old trends.

“It was so funny; at this time in my life, I used to wear one earring in one side of my ear,” she recalled.

In addition, the fashion star took a series of photos with her professional football player husband Tom Brady, as well as their son Benjamin, eight, and five-year-old daughter Vivian, at their Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts home.

The family is seen rolling in a field with mountains in the background in one snap, while another shows the two children planting a tree. There is also a black and white shot of Gisele meditating outside and a picturesque image of her and her children riding horses on a beach.

Gisele’s Vogue Italia issue is due to be released on Tuesday (06Feb18).
