Britney Spears has wowed her fans by wearing a bargain black dress from Pretty Little Thing.

The Toxic hitmaker took to Instagram to share a video message to the LGBTQ community to celebrate Pride Month, and her eagle-eyed followers noticed that she was rocking a long-sleeved, black frilly minidress from the online retailer, which cost a mere $35 (£28).

“Happy Pride Month !!!! I love my LGBTQ+ fans so much …. you all bring me so much joy and I am proud to support you !!!!” Britney captioned the clip, alongside rainbow and love heart emojis.

Her fans were quick to heap praise on the frugal pop star, who is reportedly worth around $58 million (£47 million), for choosing affordable high street clothes over designer garments.

“Britney Spears being a millionaire and shopping at pretty little thing just like we all do. Iconic,” one commented, while another wrote: “Humble queen.”

However, some of her 24.5 million followers have been poking fun at the unusual language Britney used in the video, in particular, when she described the LGBTQ community as if it was a place, not a group of people.

“‘To all my friends at the LGBTQ community, happy Pride Month,” the 38-year-old said in the Instagram clip. “You guys bring so much heart, passion, and articulate everything you do. Because of you, I’ve had the best nights of my life. I love you so much it hurts.”

“The way Britney said “at the LGBTQ Community” like we all live in a retirement home together,” one joked, as another chimed in: “‘She said AT the lgbt community like we all live in a clubhouse.”

Britney Spears has debuted her new bangs on Instagram.

The 38-year-old excitedly took to the social media site to reveal her new look, and told her followers that she is thrilled with the wispy, side-swept fringe.

“I did it I finally cut bangs!!!!!!” she captioned two snaps that showed off her new fringe, with her posing on the beach in a pink leopard print bikini.

Britney later shared a second series of photos showing the bangs, simply captioned with a red rose emoji, in which she can be seen wearing a crop top and black choker.

The Toxic hitmaker’s boyfriend Sam Asghari took to the comments to leave a sweet message for his beau. He wrote: “How many comment (sic) are going to say ‘queen of bangs’.”

And actress Vanessa Hudgens, athlete and actor Gus Kenworthy, singer Delta Goodrem, and reality star Kaitlyn Bristowe were among the famous faces showing their love for Britney’s new hairstyle.

In a lengthy Instagram post last month, the mother-of-two opened up about her confidence issues when she was a teen, and revealed that she used to have a fringe when she was younger because she didn’t feel pretty enough to show off her forehead.

“I stopped having bangs in the 3rd grade and I remember like it was yesterday,” the singer shared. “It was such a big deal to expose my forehead… only pretty people in the south could do that and I never felt pretty enough to pull it off. All the beauty pageant girls did it but I never felt beauty pageants were my thing… I had bad teeth and felt like an ugly duckling.”

Britney Spears regrets getting matching tattoos with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The Piece of Me singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to share two images of the pink dice inking on her left wrist and told her 23 million followers she was considering getting it removed.

“Albert Einstein once said ‘God does not play dice with the universe’… so maybe I shouldn’t have gotten the pink dice 7 on my left arm!!!!! I don’t even like ink… guess I should remove it ?!?!!!!” she wrote in the caption.

Britney got the tattoo with Kevin, whom she had been dating for just a few months, while on tour in Dublin, Ireland back in May 2004.

The couple wed in September 2004 and soon welcomed two sons – Sean Preston, 14, and Jayden James, 13. However, Britney filed for divorce in November 2006, just two months after giving birth to Jayden, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalised in 2007.

Britney is currently dating Sam Asghari and recently raved about her boyfriend in a series of saucy Instagram posts celebrating his 26th birthday.

“Happy early B-day to this man !!!!!” the 38-year-old wrote alongside a sultry shot of them wearing swimwear. “I adore and love him more than anything….!!!! Happy Birthday @samasghari !!!!!!”

Britney later revealed that she was wearing her grandmother’s swimsuit in the pictures and shared a sweet tribute to her beloved family member.

“No make-up, just mascara and my grandmother’s bathing suit,” she added.

Britney Spears is working “really hard” to lose weight after accusing photographers of editing images to make her appear heavier.

The singer uploaded a video of herself lifting weights and doing squats to her Instagram page on Monday and captioned it: “I’ve been working really hard to lose weight …. and for me, 3 pounds (1.3 kilograms) is like 7 pounds (3 kilograms) it’s a lot. I don’t like doing too much cardio. My body has muscle memory, cus (sic) I used to be a gymnast and I can bulk up …. so I like isolated movement.”

Britney’s boyfriend Sam Asghari was quick to comment on the video, which showed the mother-of-two working out under a tree, writing: “Perfect as it can be! Lioness always inspiring the world.”

Describing how she hopes her workout gives her a body like her fitness trainer beau, Britney added: “The key to my workout is repetition, but that gets boring, so I have a booklet I’ve made with all my favourite exercises. I usually wear headphones…music takes me away. I know I don’t look perfect here, but I’m working on it. Hopefully one day I can give my boyfriend’s abs a run for their money !!!!”

The Toxic star’s workout post comes just a week after she took to Instagram to share her suspicions about photographers doctoring images of her, following the publication of snaps of her and Sam on a beach in Miami, Florida.

“Yesterday, I went swimming,” the 37-year-old told her fans. “I look like I’m 40 pounds bigger than I am today. This is how I am right now, and I’m skinny as a needle. You tell me, what is real?”

Representatives for the photo agency MEGA, the firm who released the photos, took issue with the hitmaker’s claims, calling them “ludicrous”.

Britney Spears has given fans a tour of her huge walk-in wardrobe, which was recently overhauled by her housekeepers.

Following a trip to Miami with her boyfriend Sam Asghari, the 37-year-old returned home to find that her formerly messy closet had been organised into a sleek space.

Britney shared a video on Instagram – captioned “New Closet… A New World” – and gave her followers a peek inside her tidy wardrobe, while wearing an off-the-shoulder crop top, denim shorts, and her blonde hair in a ponytail.

Standing in front of racks of clothes, the mother-of-two excitedly said to the camera: “I just got home! Guess what the housekeepers just did to my closet?”

The Toxic hitmaker then took control of the control of the camera and panned through the wall of clothes, which are now all coordinated by colour, pattern, and style.

“All whites, colour organisation! All bright, all flowers, all hoodies, all blue, all black,” Britney commented. “All red, all black, all nighties, all winter, sweats, jackets.”

More than three million people have viewed her closet tour, with many of her fans in awe of the organisation. Her mother, Lynne Spears, also commented on her daughter’s post, and revealed she was now inspired to tackle her own wardrobe.

“Omg (oh my God)!! We talked about you organising your closet!! Looks great! Now I’m going to go home and do mine! Love this and love u (sic),” she wrote.

The popstar lives with her two sons, Sean and Jayden, in a $7.4 million (£5.8 million) mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, that sits on a huge 20-acre plot of land. The 12,000 square foot property is in a gated community, and has a swimming pool, a tennis court, and three-green golf course.

Skechers is bringing back an iconic footwear style made famous by Britney Spears.

The California-based company first introduced the Skechers Energy design, a sneaker with chunky sole, to the market in 1999 and tapped the Toxic hitmaker to appear in an accompanying campaign.

Now, fans of the Energy can shop three new limited-edition colourways, including classic white and metallic silver, with each pair featuring the ’90s-era Skechers logo.

“When we look back at the thousands of styles released over the 27 years since we established Skechers, the Skechers Energy really stands out as a look that helped define our brand just as we were hitting our stride,” stated Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers.

“With Britney Spears as the face of the Skechers Energy at launch, it became our first massive global hit style and helped drive awareness for the Skechers brand around the world. We love that the chunky design Skechers originated is now all the rage in fashion footwear, driving massive excitement for our Skechers D’Lites collection. This anniversary is a perfect opportunity to re-introduce old and new Skechers fans to the style that started it all.”

The launch of the three new Energy styles is just the start of the revival, with an expanded collection featuring updated colours rolling out through the year.

Items are now available to buy from Skechers retail stores, the brand’s website and at select retail partners.

Executives at Skechers, which was founded in 1992, claim the Energy remains a best-seller, with an estimated 100 million pairs sold around the world to date.

Britney Spears loves experimenting with different looks when it comes to her music videos.

The singer is the voice behind some of music’s most famous pop hits, and as well as producing a selection of beloved tunes, she’s also flaunted a number of iconic personas in her music videos. From the Catholic schoolgirl in …Baby One More Time, to the air hostess turned leather-clad siren in Toxic, and the statement red catsuit in Oops!… I Did It Again, Britney has never been afraid to play with fashion and beauty.

“I like it when I change it up and there’s no specific character, you know? When there’s a bunch of different characters involved,” she explained in an interview with British Vogue. “I think one character is kind of boring and that’s what most people do for videos and stuff like that. So I think ‘Toxic’ is one of my favourite looks because it was like a superhero and imagination type thing. There were so many superheroes she turned into, kind of like a superwoman.”

As well as her impressive musical legacy, the pop star has also had a lasting influence on the beauty industry thanks to the scores of fragrances she’s released since 2004, including Curious and Fantasy. Britney has recently unveiled her latest perfume named Prerogative, a neutral gender-free scent which she describes as “something different” and “empowering.”

The 36-year-old also shared details behind her make-up regime, revealing that “Less is more” is her day-to-day mantra, and detailed her unexpected skincare saviour.

“I’m all about a good astringent toner before I put my moisturiser on. I can’t just put moisturiser on – I have breakouts because I work out,” she said. “I don’t actually get zits or acne, I just get these red marks where it’s, like, about to break out and it shows up like a rash on the side of my face. So I like for it to feel like zingy clean with astringent.”

Britney Spears’ Pride perfume promotion sparks backlash

Britney Spears has been accused of using her Pride gig in Brighton, England as a tool to promote her perfume.

The Toxic singer performed at the event, the U.K.’s biggest celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community, on Saturday (04Aug18).

The day after the concert she took to Twitter to thank fans for attending, but included a sneaky bit of promotion for her gender-neutral fragrance, My Prerogative – which was also given out free to fans on scented wristbands.

She wrote: “Loved seeing so many people out celebrating diversity and inclusion for #pride here in the UK! Having the freedom to be who you want to be is so important, which is why we made Prerogative, a fragrance for ALL!! Check it out exclusively at @BootsUK #MyPrerogative.”

Her tweet didn’t sit well with some of the LGBTQ community, however, including editors at Attitude magazine who responded by calling her post “terrible” in a message sent via their Twitter account.

Another irate tweeter added: “All those years fighting oppression, for Britney to come along and turn it into a commercial for perfume. What a d**k.”

Other fans described the move as “tacky”, although some saw the funny side of her attempt to plug her perfume.

“Only Britney is allowed to do a tweet about Pride and inclusion then use it to flog perfume ok,” one admirer wrote, while another added, “Britney doing a gig at pride just to promote a perfume is the most Britney thing I’ve heard all week.”

The star has also released a special Pride edition of another fragrance, Fantasy, with $1.30 (£1) of each $53 (£40) bottle going to support U.S. media monitoring group GLAAD, formerly the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Britney’s show delighted fans, although she reportedly forgot where she was performing and had to ask her dancer, before giving a shout out to Brighton Pride.

Many concertgoers complained that they were left stranded as train services taking them to and from the gig were inadequate. In response to complaints of overcrowding, Pride organisers told NME.com they were “appalled” bosses at the Govia Thameslink Railway failed to put on sufficient trains, claiming they had put Pride attendees’ “safety in jeopardy”.

Britney Spears fronts new Kenzo campaign

Britney Spears has scored her first luxury fashion campaign with Kenzo.

The Toxic hitmaker has signed on as a Spring 2018 spokesmodel for the label’s second La Collection Memento range, which pays tribute to the Kenzo Jeans debut in 1986.

Britney posed for the new ads in Paris with photographer Peter Lindbergh, and the first three images from the campaign feature the pop superstar wearing a cropped green sweatshirt and denim cap, a floral crop top with matching jacket, pants, and cap, and a cropped denim jacket over a matching bra and briefs set with thigh-high lace-up boots.

The singer was drawn to the line’s nostalgic pieces, but as a mother-of-two, felt a little out of place modelling some of the more risque looks on the streets of the French capital.

“This collection is very youthful,” Britney tells Vogue.com. “We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first. I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space and this was out on the street.

“We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd but, of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”

Spears is famed for bursting onto the pop scene dressed in a sexy schoolgirl outfit for her …Baby One More Time video back in 1998, but the singer, now 36, admits motherhood has made her tone down her wardrobe choices in recent years.

“It’s tricky because as a mother, you don’t take as much risk with your style,” she shares. “I think when I was younger I took so many risks and really went for it. There was no planning what I wore and it was like, OK, I am just going to put on the most outrageous thing. I think as a mother you hold back from that out of fear of embarrassing your kids and out of respect for them.”

However, Britney’s new Kenzo gig has inspired her to add a little playfulness to her sense of style, a lesson she’s also learned from allowing her boys Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11, to pick out their own clothes, even if the colours or patterns clash.

“(It’s) intoxicating because you are like, ‘You know what? I’m not going to care what I wear today,'” she smiles.

“As a mother, I used to be very strict about what they wore but, at this point, they are growing up and becoming their own people. I want them to do their own thing – I respect that.”

Meanwhile, Britney unveiled her new Kenzo ads to fans on Twitter on Tuesday (20Mar18).

“So excited to announce my new campaign for @KENZO’s La Collection Memento No2 shot by @peterlindbergh!!! #kenzolovesbritney,” she captioned the post.
