Amy Schumer compared her post-baby weight loss progress to Jessica Simpson’s with a hilarious picture on Monday.

Towards the end of September, the singer shared a picture of herself in a form-fitting black dress and revealed she had lost 100 pounds (45 kilograms) in the six months since she gave birth to her daughter Birdie Mae.

But later on, the Trainwreck actress, who gave birth to her first child, a son named Gene Attell Fischer, in May, jokingly compared her post-baby weight loss to Jessica’s on Instagram by sharing a picture of herself in a high-waisted two-piece black bikini on the beach with her sister Kim.

“Ok Simpson. Well, I’ve lost 10 pounds and 100 dollars to my sister playing poker,” she wrote in the caption, alongside the hashtags “#norush” and “#givememymoneybackkim”.

Her post caught the attention of the I Think I’m in Love with You star, who used a risque joke to insist Amy’s post-baby size didn’t matter.

“You’re hot. Size only matters when it comes to men (playful face emoji),” the 39-year-old wrote in the comments.

When she showed off her weight loss on Instagram, Jessica wrote, “6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240) My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.”

During a recent interview on HSN, she credited following a cauliflower-rich diet with helping her shed the pounds.

“It’s been a lot of hard work. I have to say that I have worked very hard,” the mother-of-three said. “Everything that I’ve been eating is mostly made with cauliflower.”

Jessica also shares daughter Maxwell, seven, and son Ace, six, with husband Eric Johnson.

Comedienne Amy Schumer has become an advocate for natural beauty products after discovering they were most effective during her pregnancy.

The Trainwreck star, who is in her final trimester and due to deliver her baby with husband Chris Fischer soon, has partnered with holistic company Beautycounter for a special campaign video, explaining she was so impressed with the firm’s clean products, she offered to promote them for free.

“Now that it wasn’t just me taking care of my dirtbag self, I was like, ‘There’s also a baby living in me, I should also be conscious of the products I’m using’,” she says in the footage, while crediting her friend Shea, a Beautycounter consultant, with introducing her to the brand.

“I love them as a company, and I reached out to them to see if I could get involved because of your passion for it,” she tells Shea on tape.

Amy has been open about her issues from hyperemesis gravidarum, an intense form of morning sickness, throughout her first pregnancy, and admits perfumes have also been eliminated from her life.

“I love (unscented products), because especially being pregnant and puking so much during my pregnancy, a smell will just set me right off,” she explains.

On Tuesday (23Apr19) Amy dismissed rumours she had already given birth by calling attention to her vomiting condition in an image she shared on Instagram of herself looking very pregnant on a stroll with husband Chris.

“Amy Schumer And Chris Fischer set pulses racing while the heavily pregnant Schumer flaunts her growing bump,” she captioned the snap. “Amy is still pregnant and puking because money rarely goes to medical studies for women such as hyperemesis or endometriosis and instead goes to things like d**ks not getting hard enough or old guys who want harder d**ks.”

Brie Larson urges women to ‘break boundaries’ in the film industry

Brie Larson wants to capitalise on the success of Captain Marvel and “break boundaries” for women in the film industry.

The Unicorn Store actress made the comments during an appearance at Tina Brown’s Women of the World conference in New York City on Wednesday (10Apr19), and claimed that it’s important for women to keep pushing forward in the fight for gender parity.

“We have to break these boundaries,” she insisted. “Whatever that currency is, I’m spending it. I’m not going to save it in an account. We need the change now.”

The Avengers: Endgame star went on to consider the history of women’s roles in movies, and lauded her predecessors for pushing for greater recognition and more leading roles for women.

“I’m very grateful to break this glass ceiling that women can also make a billion dollars,” the 29-year-old reflected. “The reason why I was able to get the payment that I got from (Captain Marvel), a lot of it had to do with the women who came before me.”

While Brie encouraged her peers not to settle for second best and to push for better opportunities for women as a whole, she also urged them not to feel guilty about demanding a higher pay and empowered them to know their worth.

“It’s a trap that they make women feel icky about money,” the star considered. “Don’t even do it for you. Do it for the women who are going to come after you… I had to learn pretty quickly to choose myself.”

Captain Marvel was released in March and is currently the highest-grossing film of the year so far, although it will likely be overtaken by Avengers: Endgame, in which she reprises her role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, when hits cinemas later this month.

Amy Schumer recruited best pals to model new clothing line

Actress Amy Schumer turned to her best friends to help her model her new size-inclusive clothing line to represent everyday women.

The Trainwreck star has teamed up with stylist Leesa Evans, who she met on the set of the 2015 comedy, to launch Le Cloud, a range of comfortable fashions designed for women of all shapes and sizes.

Amy features in the promotional images alongside a varied group of ladies, and she reveals they are all her real-life pals.

“These are all my best friends – a lot of them are nurses and teachers,” she told U.S. breakfast show Today.

Part of the thinking behind the move was to show that the items – and their price tags – are meant for people from all walks of life.

“That was really important to us too, we wanted the price point to be as low as humanly possible but still have the (quality) feel…,” Amy said. “I wanted my friends, the teachers and everyone, to afford it…”

The actress-turned-designer has previously shared her motivation for creating her own line, and she credits Leesa with helping her work out what really works for her body type.

“Fittings (in Hollywood) for me were always kinda painful, and they really mess with your self-esteem, so I was so real reticent,” Amy confessed. “(Then) I met Leesa on Trainwreck and she was like, ‘Oh no, it’s about proportions!’ and just made me feel so different and great about my body.”

There was just one thing the funnywoman would always request from Leesa, which ended up inspiring the brand name after the stylist struggled to find suitable pieces on the market.

“I always insist everything feels like a cloud, which is where (the name) Le Cloud came from…,” smiled Amy. “Everything is super comfortable.”

She added, “The tools that Leesa gave me to feel confident, I wanted to give to every woman. I just was like, ‘Wow’ – it totally changed how I felt about clothing, getting dressed, everything.”

The pair is also using Le Cloud to give back to those in need, as a portion of proceeds from sales will benefit non-profit organisation Community Partners in support of the STYLEFUND project, which Amy and Leesa founded to aid women facing difficult economic circumstances.

Le Cloud went on sale online and in select stores from Thursday (13Dec18).

Amy Schumer was inspired to create her new Le Cloud clothing line after she was made to feel “her body was wrong” during Hollywood fittings.

The actress and comedienne struggled with body image issues prior to meeting her stylist and friend Leesa Evans, her partner in the size inclusive collection, and admits she was one of the first people to make her feel beautiful on the red carpet.

“If the clothes don’t look good on you, you’re made to feel like it’s your fault, like your body is wrong,” she tells InStyle. “I realised I dress badly a lot of the time because I don’t want to be judged as a woman, so I sort of take myself out of the game.

“Leesa wants the person to shine and the clothes to take a back seat. She doesn’t want you to go, ‘I love that outfit’. She wants you to go, ‘I look great. I’ve never seen my body in that way before’.”

The 37 year old, who is expecting her first child, is now hoping her fashion venture helps boost other women’s confidence.

“Women have been made to feel so bad about themselves,” she says. “It feels great to take the reins and be like, ‘None of that’.”

Meanwhile, Schumer and Evans are using their new designs to support women in need – a portion of proceeds from sales will benefit non profit organisation Community Partners in support of the STYLEFUND project, which the two women founded. The charity aims to aid women facing difficult economic circumstances.

Le Cloud will be available online and at New York City’s Saks Off 5th’s 57th Street store and the Beverly Connection in Los Angeles beginning on 13 December (18).

Crazy Rich Asians has landed a sequel days after the movie opened in America with a blockbuster $34 million (£26.7 million) box office haul.

The movie adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s bestselling book of the same name was the first major Hollywood production to boast an almost all-Asian line-up in 25 years, since 1993’s The Joy Luck Club, and its impressive opening is the biggest debut for a romantic comedy since Amy Schumer’s 2015 release Trainwreck.

And now director Jon M. Chu has signed on to make a follow-up, based on Kwan’s second book, China Rich Girlfriend.

The film will reunite the original team, including producers Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and John Penotti and screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim, and will explore the romance between characters Charlie and Astrid, played by former Glee star Harry Shum, Jr. and Gemma Chan, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The two hooked up at the end of Crazy Rich Asians.

But it’s not all good news for Kwan – officials in Singapore, where his book and the film is set, have revealed he failed to register for national service as required by all young men.

The writer was born in Singapore and moved to America with his family when he was 11.

Males born in the country are required to spend two years in a uniformed service.

Government officials have called for the 44 year old to turn himself in to authorities and face claims of “defaulting on his NS obligations” and for staying abroad without a valid exit permit.

A statement from the ministry of defence reads: “Mr Kwan has committed offences under the Enlistment Act, and is liable to a fine of up to 10,000 dollars (£7,700) and/or imprisonment of up to three years upon conviction.”

Kwan did not travel to Singapore for Tuesday night’s (21Aug18) premiere of the hit romantic comedy. It opens throughout Asia this week (ends24Aug18).

Comedienne Amy Schumer has assured fans she isn’t pregnant – but she is creating a fashion line.

The Trainwreck star grabbed headlines on Thursday morning (12Jul18) after posting an image of herself in a red tank top and skirt on Instagram, tagging costume designer Leesa Evans and writing: “@leesaevansstyle and i are cookin somethin Up (sic)”.

Observers interpreted the newlywed’s message as a pregnancy reveal, but Amy, who married chef Chris Fischer earlier this year (Feb18) after just a few months of dating, returned to social media to insist she was not with child.

“I am not pregnant,” she shared in an Instagram video. “My friend said it looked like I was pointing to a bump or something, but I’m not. Leesa Evans (and I) have created a clothing line for all sizes and shapes at a chill price point. That was what I was trying to allude to, but thank you for thinking of my womb.”

In the caption to her Instagram video footage, the I Feel Pretty star reminded fans that pregnancy rumours are constantly swirling around her, adding: “I always have a bump alert!”

The blonde star hasn’t yet revealed any further details about her forthcoming clothing line, but fans can expect it to cater for all women as Amy has been an advocate of body positivity and fashion inclusivity for years, slamming Glamour magazine in 2016 for including her in a special ‘plus-size’ issue.

“I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size,” she wrote on Instagram. “Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me.

“Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous.”

John Cena has no qualms about looking like an “idiot” onscreen if he will get laughs.

The former professional wrestler has successfully made the leap from the ring to the silver screen in recent years, starring in movies such as Trainwreck and Daddy’s Home as well as animated flick Ferdinand.

John most recently appeared in sex comedy Blockers and has now explained that even though he’s not a trained comedic actor, he isn’t afraid to be silly if a part requires him to do so.

“I know that a lot of the humour rests on me looking like an idiot, so I’m OK with that,” he told Collider. “I’m OK with looking like an idiot. Some people don’t go there, but I don’t care. You have to get the perspective of funny people and not have any reservations on looking like a dumb-a*s.”

One of the most-talked about scenes in Blockers has to be the outrageous sequences in which John’s character Mitchell “butt-chugs” beer, by having a funnel inserted into his rear-end. Though the star was up for the gag, he is also adamant that he doesn’t feel the need to pull silly stunts in all of his projects for the sake of a laugh.

“I don’t want to become a stunt daredevil, as far as how far I’ll push, but I get the humour,” the 40-year-old shared of the scene. “Everybody has their own process, but that’s why it’s funny and that’s why I’ll do it. It fits in the movie. It’s not just, ‘Hey, so we have this gag and we wanna do the gag’. There’s meaning behind it.”

Since wrapping on Blockers, John has been working on Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, in which he portrays Agent Burns. The flick also features Hailee Steinfeld, with the buff star divulging that he found the green screen scenes quite challenging.

“You’re acting with a stick,” he laughed. “So, it was a different challenge, but I loved it. I hope everybody sees that and they dig it.”

Newlywed Amy Schumer is in talks to portray real-life boxer Christy Martin in a hard-hitting new biopic.

The star has made a name for herself as a comedy actress in films like Trainwreck, Snatched, and I Feel Pretty, which opens in America this week (20Apr18), but she’s keen to get a little dramatic to star in Katherine Fugate’s true story about the fighter, who had to battle men to gain respect, according to Deadline.

Martin, aka Christy Salters, grew up in West Virginia and earned the boxing nickname The Coalminer’s Daughter after her early successes in the ring. But as she started beating men, some purists tried to keep her down and one trainer ordered a boxer to break her ribs in a fight in an effort to change her mind about the sport – but the gritty woman never gave up.

Ironically, she went on to marry Jim Martin, the trainer who ordered the beatdown, and then became the first woman to sign with revered boxing promoter Don King, who signed her to a series of pay-per-view fights.

Martin was the champion until Muhammad Ali’s daughter Laila arrived on the scene and beat her in 2003.

Her private life was just as punchy as her career – she fell in love with another woman and left Martin, who shot and stabbed her and left her for dead in a brutal and jealous rage.

She recovered from her injuries, changed her name to Salters and testified against her husband, helping to put him behind bars.

Wrestler and actor John Cena constantly provided his co-stars in new comedy Blockers with motivational speeches to inspire them to create “something great”.

The Trainwreck star joins Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz in the movie, portraying three over-protective parents on a mission to prevent their daughters from fulfilling their plan to lose their virginity on prom night.

Supernatural actress Kathryn Newton plays one of the girls, alongside relative newcomers Geraldine Viswanathan and Gideon Adlon, and on Monday (02Apr18), John shared a sweet video message to the ladies as they all appeared for a group interview on breakfast show Today, which he co-hosted last week.

“The Today show wanted me, John Cena, to send you a wacky message,” he began the clip. “I can’t do that, because Leslie, you already know how incredible it was to work with you and to share the screen in such funny moments, and just be a part of something really special.”

“And to the girls: to Geraldine, to Gideon, and to Katherine, I’ve told you that I really think you are the stars of this film, because your performance is absolutely unbelievable,” he continued. “The subject matter is difficult, and I think all of you knocked it out of the park. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of something so special…”

The surprise footage had the women gushing in admiration, but Kathryn insisted words of inspiration are what they’ve come to expect from the gentle giant.

“He’s amazing…,” she smiled. “He gave a speech at dinner one time, and he was like, ‘We all come from different walks of life; some of you it’s your first film, some of you it’s your last, and we’re all going to do something great.’ He’s just the best.”
